I love the Amesbury Planet Fitness! PF professionals at the Amesbury, MA location are extremely kind and helpful.

Sadly, I had a very different experience at the Newburyport location. My late husband has his account at Newburyport. After his death I had to go there in person to close his account. When the middle-aged bleach blond at the counter finally noticed I was standing there, she looked at me and said "What?" - I told her my husband had passed away and I needed to close his account. With zero reaction, she said "Name?" and then made a few clicks on her computer and without even looking at me said, "All set". No condolences or niceties. End of discussion.

If you want a gym with a warm and personal atmosphere, go to the Amesbury Planet Fitness. If you like an impersonal experience where they don't care about you, go to the Newburyport Planet Fitness.

I haven’t been back to the gym since Covid, so I was nervous to get started up again. I explained my situation to the people at the front desk and right away, they showed me how to use the machines and welcomed me back. It felt great to get back into working out again! From the time I walk in, till the time I leave I have enjoyed my exercise routine. So many machines to try. No excuse to be unhealthy. The staff is very friendly and there to help. I asked for help for one machine, and the staff member showed me how to use it. He also advised about safely using that equipment. (Thanks, Jeff) Very clean place also.

Had a great thorough workout routine developed by their trainer Aaron. Very Satisfied. Thank you Aaron. The gym is excellent, clean, and has a very varied and sophistocated collection of workout equipment. My workout routine was well tailored to my goals. As someone new to gym equipment, the equipment I was recommended to use was patiently adjusted and use explained clearly by Aaron. Looking forward to going back.

I have been to this club 4 times and the staff is horrible. They breath down your neck and disrupt your workout for no good reason. They also have signs up that explicitly say the locker room and changing rooms are closed but also pester you to take your bag and put it in the locker room. Good luck working out with the heavier dumbbells. The floor is not solid so whenever you PUT them down they still make a sound, yet they must come over and make a comment about it. It’s no wonder others have told me to avoid this location.

Planet Fitness has truly beat my expectations! I can’t wait for the renovations to be completed, to see all changes and improvements they made!! The staff I had met were very attentive, and beyond helpful. My tour was with Ryan who was extremely knowledgeable and confident about my future there. Very friendly staff but the gym is old and kind of small. There was a guy running on a treadmill behind me and the floor was shaking so bad that I was sure the floor was going to collapse and we were going to end up in the basement.... We didn't :)

The planet fitness gyms in amesbury and newburyport are really nice. The staff and customers are all nice. There aren't generally lines for the equipment. There's always plenty of parking, and you can't get much better in the prices. The weights are kinda limited, but my strength is above average, and I get by.

This is the worst gym I've ever used. It's dirty, run-down, and the staff is mainly young kids who are unprofessional and rude. They mock and make fun of people who work out there. The manager is also rude and does not encourage good customer service. Other locations are better, but I strongly recommend avoiding the Amesbury location as it is an independent franchise and not managed by Planet Fitness itself.

I like the gym. Staff friendly. Manager works her tail off. Only issue is bench press gone causing safety issues for anyone lifting, women especially because they roll it down their body vs having a rack to put it in. To say the smith machines are the same is dishonest. Not close!! The logic is not logical. Just because someone wishes to go big doesn't make them a meathead.

This club is excellent especially the trainer Millie. Her one on one with her customers is excellent. I joined for weight loss and she gives me the extra push to point me towards my goal. I would recommend this gym to anyone of my friends or family. Plus the financial cost of $20 per month is excellent too. Dare you to find a competitor that has rates line planet fitness. This gym has new equipment plus has done a recent renovation which includes showers.
