Terrible, especially the customer service. You have to talk to the supervisor about everything, and she's only there from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Nobody knows anything, and they don't provide any assistance except her. I only recommend it for basic things. Anyone who can afford a decent gym shouldn't even dream of coming here.

Great gym. Great value.
The newest overnight guy is very professional, helpful, and nice. Open 24 hours on Monday through Thursday, which is a plus because It's nice to be able to go late at night to work
out or during the daytime. They close at 9 pm on Fridays, and they open 6 am - 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Plenty of parking.
Showers and lockers to use along with tanning beds, hydro massage tables, and massage chairs for Black Card members.

One of the men behind the counter doesn't know how to do his job went in to cancel my membership because I literally couldn't afford to go to the gym anymore and failed to explain to me that if you cancel your membership between the 10th and 17th you still have to pay your next months bill. Assured me multiple times that I wouldn't be charged and woke up this morning being charged for next months membership that I literally couldn't afford. Will change review if I receive help on this matter. If you go to this planet fitness make sure you interact with anyone behind the counter except this individual.

nice big gym with kind and attentive staff. i mainly work out after 10pm and the man they usually have working knows what i’m coming up for at the end of every night (the hydro massage haha) and often remembers my favorite bed. i always see him walking around cleaning and dusting if not at the desk so i have faith in the cleanliness of the equipment. the others i’ve seen working are equally kind and welcoming. lot of cardio equipment. the machines ARE older as some have mentioned, but i notice the newer machines use more pulleys and make it where you carry less of the weight of the load and get more help from the machine itself, where as the old ones you carry a lot more of the weight - at the one in noho i can usually pull almost double the weight (100ish), whereas here i can pull closer to what im actually lifting (50 lmfaooo). so i kind of enjoy the older machines lowkey. they just added a bunch of plate loaded equipment too. i do think one of the ab machines in the ab room may be broken as it seems off kilter where the shoulders go but i could be wrong. it also does tend to get super busy around after work hours but there’s always enough to go around. love my gym!

Ricky is an excellent personal trainer. Very unfortunate however that most of the time he is taken by clients as I’ve seen when I sometimes work out. I was a member here for years and recently rejoined expecting the same or better equipment. They claim to have arc trainers on the website and they don't. When I asked they pointed me towards legs-only ellipticals. Their arm and leg ellipticals are poor quality and the treadmills seem less steady than my home model. Disappointed and when I asked to cancel the attendant didn't give me paperwork to cancel. They said the payment wouldn't go through but it did and so another wasted trip will happen to cancel the membership after 1 day.

This is the best gym for people that like space. Was converted from a roller rink and allows workouts to have plenty of room. AC could be better. They need to address needs of older patrons and not only youthful ones. On the whole this Chicopee facility has potential but they have trouble hiring the best in this field. Something is strange about the 20 tvs they have. They are a gym that sponsors Red Sox radio on WEEI but will not let us watch it. When mentioned to staff they just laugh. Today I realized they deleted more spirt channels but added the Weather Channel. Don't know the Sox score but thankfully I know the next 10 days of weather. As a faithful over 20 year member the last 3 years have been so sad.

Hello fellow gymgoers, just a message to the new and maybe even old members, please take care and share the equipment, everyone wants to use it and need it for their fitness goals, dont treat the equipment like you're the only ones who needs it and act like you can take long rest periods and not let anyone work in with you, and please clean after yourself, dont leave tissues and cable attachments on the floor like a slob , if you can use them then you can bring them back.

Overall, this gym is pretty solid, sometimes one of the bathroom (mens) faucets doesnt work and faucet water might be a little too hot, and equipment gets damaged from time to time (but I think its due to ego lifting/slamming than it being the gyms fault), lets minimize that by taking care of the equipment. I would love if this gym could add a hack squat machine. Their cardio equipment and weight options are pretty solid for beginners, locker room and shower available and clean most of the time.

I'm not exactly huge or muscular. But our 16 year old needed to "work out" for football and so it took a while but we finally took the plunge and signed up for Planet Fitness. We haven't crunched the numbers yet but so far it's been a very good situation. Without a sport we went almost 3 times a week and then the weekend. But now in the spring it's been tougher to go. We have to really carve out time to go. We got the BLACK CARD and put it in his name. That way he could have either myself or his mom come to accompany him during his workouts. Most of the time it's me but sometimes he can take his mom which is great. He also doesn't have a phone but that was dealt with by having the app on both my phone and my wife's phone and so when going in he scans his QR code and then chooses us as guests. Nothing untoward, just trying to save some money. Most of his workouts are legs and arms for football. My workouts are all kinds of things like elliptical, walking, biking and rowing etc. I've tried numerous things like stair stepping (I do enough of that at school) and we just try to go as much as we can. The people there greet us when we go in and nobody really bothers us. There are some super buff people, so goof-offs and the TVs are showing some of the dumbest stuff. However the days we go and there's a movie on, it's amazing how fast my workouts go. Wow! Now my goal is to have our boy figure out you don't need to spend all this money to do this... here's hoping.

I so much like working out at Planet Fitness. You can look on the app to see how busy they are. They have plenty of machines and space to help accommodate any workout you have planned. The locker rooms are clean and spacious. The showers have a good flow and are pretty hot. There are only 2 drawbacks. First, since covid, the close at 9 pm on Friday and 7pm on Saturday and Sunday nights. The second is the monthly price for Black level has gone up too much in my opinion.

This was my first visit to PF in Chicopee on Sunday 6/4/23 at 6am. After starting my workout an employee "Cat" approached and informed me that my backpack was against policy.
I explained this was my first time and that I was visiting from the west coast and had my travel essentials with me. Wallet, inhaler and other personal necessities that I don't trust in a rental car or hotel room. I also said when and if I returned I would not bring the bag.
About 30 minutes later "Cat" returned with another employee who was a rather large man.
Cat informed me that if I did not remove the bag immediately I would have to leave the facility. In my 63 years I have never been asked to leave any facility, it was insulting to say the least.
I am a business man that travels over 150k miles annually. I have memberships to LA Fitness, CA Family Fitness, Planet Fitness and Anytime Fitness due to my work travel.
Cat should have handled this situation more professionally.
Overall the facility was clean and well equipped. I'm not upset just disappointed in the way I was treated.

Great staff. Great Personal Trainer. Very knowledgeable and patient with all his clients and even coaches all members as needed. Those Hydros and massage chairs will pay dividends after his workouts with the Black Card. A true game changer. Not some Joe Schmo trainer, actually works out and is very fit. By far the worst experience at a planet fitness.

I have a child with special needs, who’s shorter than average for her age. She has Turners Syndrome which stunts her growth, and in turn she’s overweight. We decided to get motivated and head to planet fitness.

I scanned my card and proceeded to put our things away. Once I walked out of the dressing room I was stopped by Rich who asked me my daughters age. I let him know she’s 13, once she met that requirement he said her shoes weren’t appropriate. My daughters condition causes swelling and she’s very limited with shoes. Her shoes were completely enclosed. Rich interrupted and stated he can bring his “manager” over. He called over Kat, the “manager” who stated that if she’s to wear those shoes, I would need to bring them a Drs note. Which sounds completely ridiculous.

All in all, it was not a pleasant experience. They made my daughter feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. It took a lot of courage for her to join me at the gym. There are certain ways to address situations in a kind manner.

I have never experienced this amount of scrutiny at a planet fitness before. They stated that because this is their “corporate” location they scrutinize more than other planet fitness. I have been to plenty of planet fitness centers with the same shoes, and I’ve seen plenty of other people wear them.

Of all the locations in western mass this one is the worst because management seems to scrutinize the smallest things that most people won’t agree with. About a year ago I actually left planet fitness because this location had an issue with a little bag I kept with me I actually decided to give them another chance cause I mean it’s just a bag I can use a locker well went to work out after work and I work for the post office as a carrier they asked me if I had sneakers cause boots aren’t allowed unless they are hiking boots??? I have never even seen the sign until that day because I don't use your bathrooms or lockers. I usually love planet fitness, but this location is the worst. There new enforcement of only small fancy packs, when I have a mini pack back is awful. Especially since I explained I keep my inhaler in the mini bag (that is the size of a Fanny pack) and Since it wasn’t a Fanny pack I had to leave. I pay enough that I should be able to wear a mini bag that holds my important things. If they want to enforce something like that they should be handing free ones out, or discounting the membership.

On other notes, other members have commented about the lack of upkeep on equipment / cleaning, and it shouldn’t be this way. It would be nice if they were maintain machines and the upkeep with the place. I’d like to go here more but I’ve been going to the one at the Holyoke mall, and other various locations instead because they’re clean, everything is brand new and works as it should. Not saying anything bad, just wish there equipment was maintenance and worked properly.

Unfortunately I think I am going to have to look into other memberships though. I should be able to safely workout and feel like I am in a comfortable environment. Which this place especially does not provide.

I love planet fitness, but this location is the worst event to. I go here when I’m desperate but none of their machines are greased so the Smith machines are tough to use and very dry. Half the machines that are pulleys have a lot of slack and need to be maintenanced. 80% of their cardio equipment doesn’t work properly. If you put the intensity up or change the setting it doesn’t actually work unless you’re on the treadmill but nobody wants to just walk or run all the time. Other members have commented about the same and know which machines work and which don’t but it shouldn’t be this way. It would be nice if they were greaser machines and maintain them. Too bad because this is my hometown club and I’d like to go here more but I’ve been going to the one at the Holyoke mall instead because they’re clean, everything is brand new and works as it should. Love it here. Megan ( if I spelled wrong sorry) and Rosemarie ( again, sorry if I misspell your name.) Great people. Megan always got a smile and Rosemarie is considerate to the max. All the staff there are good people. The environment is very relax and chill early in the morning around 7-3. Kinda hectic between 3-6/7ish. My friend and I went to stretch after doing our workouts, and there weren't enough mats available..it was busy, but not where All the mats should've been taken..definitely doesn't supply enough for the size and capacity of the building.

Great place, plenty of parking, everything is spaced out nicely unlike the Springfield location, since Chicopee still doesn't have a mask mandate you aren't required to wear a mask here yet which is a big plus for me (not a big fan of breathing in my own CO2 while doing lifts or cardio)
