I can’t say enough great things about Noah at Planet Fitness. From the moment you walk in, he greets you with genuine warmth and a smile that instantly brightens your day. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the equipment and always willing to give tips or answer questions, no matter how small.

What stands out the most is his positive energy—he makes the gym feel less intimidating and more like a welcoming community. You can tell he truly cares about members’ progress and comfort, and he goes above and beyond to keep the place clean, organized, and running smoothly.

If every employee was like Noah, every gym visit would be a highlight of the day. Planet Fitness is lucky to have him!

My review is based on the lack of customer service, accountability, or urgency to make a wrong right.

I approached staff on July 3rd about a payment issue and was told that the staff at my home gym did not have the authority to restore the payment plan that was promised me. However, someone would call me back. I did not get a call back, so I followed up five days later.

After connecting with the manager and hearing that she too unfortunately could not rectify the situation, she reached out to her boss and was waiting for a follow up from him. Over the next few weeks I periodically contacted PF since they were not following up as they had promised. Additionally, I tried without success to find a number online of someone higher up that could help and I also sought help via the PF app. I never received a response to this inquiry either.

After a month of seeking help and wondering why such a simple situation was still not taken care of, the manager at my home gym said I would have to call corporate for help because there was nothing she could do. I immediately contacted the number she gave me, but found that it lead to a series of voice message choices which all ended in "contact your home gym for help." When I shared this with the manager, she finally text her superior and asked him to contact me. I was assured that "John" would call me within a day if he did not call me that evening. It's been a week and unfortunately I am not surprised that I never received this phone call. The message that no one at PF at the higher levels wants to deal with customer service is loud and clear. I feel that they are trying to "run me down" until I am tired of seeking help to the solution and will just pay the higher price.

I have been with PF for years and generally found the staff to be kind and helpful, the building and machines clean, and perfect for my needs. I am happy to extend grace to PF if an employee made a mistake, but at this point, the lack of accountability and effort to make things right is not okay, and very disappointing.

I’ve given this place too many chances and spend money monthly . It’s always super crowded no matter morning or night . Then there barely are any machines you have to wait to use . This is by far the better gym to go to. Franklin is a better gym than Milford’s. More clean, friendly and took the time to call me when they felt my review was not up to par for there standard to tell me how they are going to add more equipment etc. I thought that was really cool. The club was ok, but it was a very crappy experience dealing with front desk. I had a payment method already set up and they kept harping on adding a backup card. This, even though the primary method was my bank account with no expiration. This went on every single time I badged in and became really annoying. I then updated the card, but they didn't dismiss the alert and stopped me again after badging in. It was not just the fact that they kept asking about it, it was their tone and behavior as if I was committing a crime. It felt like I was cheating them out of money even though they were charging me every month. Cancelled the membership right away, but I don't think they even bother. Will they take this review seriously? I doubt it. I am never going back.

We were visiting from out of town and were able to use the Planet Fitness in Franklin with our membership. The staff was very friendly (Taylor, Emily and Justin) always a greeting and smile when we came in. The gym is well maintained, clean and no broken machines. Plenty of cardio. Love the bikes with virtual screens. Rooms to do floor work. We highly recommend this gym.

It's never totally dead in there, which is a good thing so that the club will remain open. So far, so good. Clean gym, polite staff, plenty of machines and free weights to construct your work out. Clients are a good mix and adhere to the no judgment ideology; who wants to be stared at when we already might be self conscious. Cell phone use has gotten out of control, hogging equipment and not actually working out. It’s extremely irritating to walk in and see all the benches being taken up by people texting instead of actually doing what they’re supposed to be there for. I have been working out at gyms for 5 decades. Planet Fitness is my favorite gym, by far. The staff is friendly and helpful. You don't have to book an hour with a trainer to learn how to use the equipment. Just ask at the desk and someone will show you how. It's clean, there are many ellipticals and treadmills, and plenty of strength training equipment. The locker rooms are large and clean, the hours are great, and the membership is the most affordable that I have paid of all of the gyms with which I have had memberships. I love this gym.

Place needs some cleaning. Bathrooms always out of soap and disgusting. Regardless of the time I walk into the locker room. Also the main floor needs a lot of cleaning. Paper towels need to be refilled. Seem like the employees just greet customers and stand there on their cell phones.

I love this gym staff always friendly, my only complaint is the women’s locker room the showers are never cleaned properly I’ve been looking at dirty bandaids and gum x 2 weeks one of the stalls has no shower curtain and has been this way for a month! Otherwise no complaints.

Only 2 smith machines leaves people waiting and waiting and waiting to start the main exercise of their lifting program most of the time. Wouldn’t hurt to add a few bench presses or racks to eliminate some of this or add heavier dumbbells so people can substitute a heavy chest press instead of waiting for the smith machine to start their workout every single day. All other ones I’ve been to have at least 3. The one in Amherst had 4 smith machines and 3 actual bench presses.

Ive been a member of planet fitness since Feb of 2022. I was looking for a low key, easy budget with basic gym needs. Since i started going to the gym, i am there about 3 to 4 times a week. I finally found a great place to work out. The staff is friendly and helpful as much as possible. Justin (the trainor) has been helpful with gym workouts and has been able to help me modify my workouts. PF Franklin also updated the cardio equipment which is great however, when you upgraded you also removed ALL the mats that were great for stretching and what i use most for my Core workouts. I'm 5'4" and can barely fit. Comfort is not an issue but the new mats supplied slide all over the place and can not accommodate for many core fitness exercises. I'm VERY disappointed in this change. I want the old style mats back. My membership is up in February of 2023. I may have to rethink renewal since this change no longer works for the workouts i set for myself. I'm not mad but disappointed that i may be on a hunt for another gym. Just supplying a little feedback about the new change in the gym.

My parents and I had a month left of our membership and my mother tried to renew with a promo of $1 & $10/mo. The manager Khaysaid to wait until the last month. My parents went back, but the manager said the promo expired, but would try to waive the annual fee. My parents left and never heard back. My mother kept calling but the manager was unreachable. We went in and she said she couldn't waive the fee. Since our memberships expired, she said we would need to pay the annual fees again, $49/ea. She also kept pushing the black card update.

They Laugh on you and your situation . They don’t even send any emails on customer service relationship if u are not going there years and years but they make sure to charge accounts and charge yearly membership fees . They charge you a yearly membership fees without fail ( non refundable at any coast ) but they don’t want to send any email saying that the change is going to made or any emails regarding why are not active or anything. We went there to close account 6 months ago and told that they are going to cancel it none of they happened . Called twice to make sure it’s closed no response . It’s acceptable +. I recently went from the ymca to planet fitness to work out and the equipment is clean and I like that they have duplicates of many of the weight machines.

I had help from the personal trainer to accommodate an exercise, and it was helpful, but felt uncertain.

The cardio equipment feels stale with old stickers attached, some rust, and retired iPod attachments. But it’s in working order and clean. You can’t beat the price and the bringing a friend is a huge perk.

Scam. To cancel you have to either come in person, or send a letter explaining why I (or anyone) wants to cancel. Why do I need to advise Planet Fitness why I want to cancel. Maybe due to the three years that I haven't used the facility, asked that it be cancelled in 2019 last time was there, and it wasn't. Bad business model. I love going to PF and the staff are always very professional. I do wish there were stricter policies about people on their phones while sitting at a machine or on the bench. I know there is limited space and not many benches but I see too many people just sitting on benches on the phone. Today there were 3 girls in the room in the back with two benches in there and they were just sitting on the phone or talking. Its not fair to the rest of us who pay money to workout not socialize

I've been a member for several years. During last year's Covid 19 shutdown, I had to call Planet Fitness many times to ask to put my membership on a freeze indefinitely (until it was safe to return) because of my age and being in a high risk group. They ended up charging me anyway for most of the year, only refunding a couple of months. Manager Patrick was rude and hostile, claiming that I wasn't due any refund, as the club had opened up in August, 2020, during the pandemic. In a nutshell, they make it EASY to join, but IMPOSSIBLE to cancel. I am appalled at the unprofessional way this company does business and treats its members.

They are thief! I couldn't get any refund on my annual or monthly fee. The staff members at this facility are very immature and childish. The teenagers they hire think of the facility as a McDonalds PlayPlace - Roaming around, chatting with friends and unable to help answer customer questions is very unprofessional.

I asked the little girl(STAFF) about my account standing at the facility and she responded that she just turned off the computer so come tomorrow and ask someone else. This is a joke! Turning off the computer 45 mins before the close time and asking your paid member to come tomorrow is very rude and unprofessional response. I would understand if the PC had issues - but how lazy do you have to be to not turn on the PC and answer a PF members question.

Also don't turn off the music at 9:45 - 15 mins before the close time. At least pretend to show dedication towards your work for which you get paid. Hopefully PF management is taking a note of mismanagement of this facility/franchise.

In terms of friendliness of staff, cleanliness of the facility and price, I give planet fitness a 5/5. Staff is very friendly, they regularly clean the equipment and locker rooms with other gym goers being courteous and wiping down equipment when they're done using them as well.

In terms of actual equipment and services, I give planet fitness a 2/5. I am very disappointing in terms of actual equipment available to use for training. Yes you have your weight lifting machines and free weight section but there's a TON of things missing that I feel every gym should have.

There are no dumbbells heavier than 75lbs which may not be an issue for some but is necessary for others. There are no swiss balls if you wish to do stability work, no jump ropes, boxes/stands to do box jumps or even resistance bands for that matter for people who do not wish to use weights. All the things I just mentioned were available at World Gym but was removed when Planet Fitness gained ownership.

Bottom Line: If you are a beginner or intermediate gym goer this gym would do very nicely with clean facilities, friendly people and staff and an affordable price. If you are more advanced in your fitness and look for a wide range of equipment to keep things fresh, look the other way
