It looked well equipped, but was fuller than a Manhattan bar. Lots of primarily college students 4 to 5 around every station. I asked the friendly staff at the counter if this is what I should expect in the early evening and unfortunately they said it was so I did not get a membership.

Equipment and facilities are pretty clean and well maintained. The lack of access to the gender neutral bathroom is really bothersome to me as a transgender man. This location is home to a number of transgender/nonbinary folks who I know are also bothered by this.
Personally, I do not feel safe using men's locker room because I cannot medically transition and "pass" in male spaces yet. I also feel uncomfortable going into the women's locker room because I am not supposed to be in there and the way I look often makes the women in there uncomfortable.
They lock the gender neutral bathroom and it doesn't seem fair that I should have to go bother the staff to unlock it for me every time I need to change/use the bathroom. I'm genuinely looking at other local gyms that have more inclusive facilities because not being able to change or go to the bathroom comfortably is a huge deal breaker. It's really a shame too because everything else about this gym is quality and convenient.

Smaller facility hidden between a staples and dollar tree. Small parking lot. Facility was packed like all planet fitnesses are. The big difference that earned them stars was the showers. This is the only planet fitness I have been to where the curtains actually close enough so someone can not look in. They had actual shower heads, even hand heald!!! Imagine that. What an experience for a planet fitness, and 1 more thing this can't go without being mentioned. HOT water! They had hot water. Holy moly. 2025, and I never thought a hot shower would be so rare. Thank you for actually giving a crud about your showers!!! Being able to take a nice shower before or after a workout is a day changer.

I travel throughout western Mass for work, and depending on where I finish my day there are 6 different Planet Fitnesses I frequent, the Greenfield location is the best of the 6. The favorable layout makes it seem never overcrowded, their hydro massage has more pressure and warmth than other locations, and the bathroom is consistently clean. And from what I can tell, they seem to have the lowest staff turnover of the 6. That tells me that they are doing things right behind the scenes.

Excellent!!! I have traveled the whole country and I am so proud to say that the Greenfield, MA Planet Fitness (my HOME gym, born and bred) is one of the best managed in the whole country. Us locals don't know how lucky we are!! I love Planet Fitness, but I learned the hard way that not all are created equal. Good management shows here. Something special happened to me this morning after years and years with my membership, I went to the gym this morning and the Planet Fitness app was not working for me and I gave them my information so they could look in the cistern and let me in to do my exercises and be able to go to work relaxed, my experience was the complete opposite 2 stupid incompetents who don't do their job just to be on the phone, I went out to my car, restarted the app and everything was fine, it's disappointing that you drive 20 minutes to go to the gym and try to have a good, active day, definitely better customer service, we are the ones who pay the salaries to be able to be on the phone and receive a payment.

Such a hassle to deal with this this gym ...they got rid of the old keychain check in method so they can sell our info by tracking it all on the required app...they don't tell you upfront when you sign up about all the hoops you have to jump through and they certainly don't let you know how hard it is to cancel the membership...

Pretty nice, it’s clean and the environment is good. My only problems are that machine and equipment placement are kinda inconvenient, it’s hard to not get in someone’s personal space when trying to grab something. for example the ab area was just rearranged and everything is super close together. I also don’t really know how changeable this is, but there’s so much space being wasted on all the treadmills, I think a lot of people would appreciate maybe half being cleared out and adding in a couple more smith machines or stairmasters.

Absolutely love this gym. I pretty much lived in this gym, pre quarantine, and stayed well in to the night most workouts, which is why I restarted my membership last year. The only gripe I have is the hours. I started a new job in March, where I get out at 10 every night, and was excited that Planet Fitness would be open after I got out. Then found out they close at 10 as well. I can go in before work, but I liked the idea of destressing after my shift. But the staff is incredibly friendly when I do have time to go in, and the facilities are keep up to a high standard of cleanliness. I just wish they were open later again. I understand cost of business, paying extra for employees to work later, utility bills and what not, but it’s still disappointing.

hasn’t been 24/7 for a few years. I ended up getting rid of my membership awhile ago because of this. The type of job I work really only gives me free time at night and PF is never open when I am able to go. Wish they were at least open later (like 1am) but they are just like every other gym at this point. Back when they were open 24/7, I loved going. Kind staff and clean equipment/locker rooms.

I'm super impressed with Planet Fitness. I've been a bit if a snob about gyms and turned up my nose at PF. My husband joined with the black card membership which allows unlimited guest pass. Wow, I loved it so much that I also joined at the black card level. Thr place is super clean, staff is friendly, all the equipment is in great shape. I joined Planet Fitness about a month ago and found enrolment to be a breeze. The Greenfield, MA facility is big, airy, and packed with new, shiny equipment of every type that covers both upper and lower body workouts, free weights, treadmills, staremasters, and more, all evenly spread out throughout the site. There are also self-directed, timed workout classes and so much more. There are plenty of lockers available in the men's and women's locker rooms, as well as showers. The staff is very welcoming and willing to assist you to make your workouts more effective. For the monthly price of around $10 a month, it's a great value and a cost-effective way to get access to these new machines, without the need for the upfront cash outlay to get access to these new machines.

Upon first contact with club and starting a membership everyone has been super friendly facilities clean. The only issue...only one trainer and teacher of classes. Disappointed by owners to allow that and when trainer walks away from club unexpectedly the owners not stepping in themselves to fill the void. As gym owners should be able to do so. So been member since December and have yet to have anyone available to show me machines or show me my specialized fitness plan made by trainer that is now gone. Step up owners! Before you lose all those new memberships from end of yr resolution crunch or someone gets hurt trying to do things themselves without proper instruction and you get sued! Very disappointing!

In response, I did contact club and speak to staff. They were nice and apologized. Once I came in and asked what was up as the online booking was always full in Dec and Jan for training, which was 3 slots a day m-f. Last time I called as online system was never showing any availability and that is when I was informed trainer was gone. Asked about anyone else who could even show me how to use machines on program that trainer had made me but was nicely informed that there was noone else trained in that area of expertise. Hence why I was confused as business owner why they would let that happen and not have more ppl trained or add more ppl. One person doing all personalized sessions and classes is gonna equal burn out and there's no back up for if their sick, injured or if flow of memberships rise like at time of special in Dec.

I've been going there now for a few months relatively regularly and still haven't gotten around to really try out all the machines - because they have so many of them. It seems there is at least one machine for every muscle (-group) of the human body :-)
What is still missing is some automated system gadget that daily nags me so much that I finally give up and actually go to the gym at least 4 times per week. Admittedly this is not Planet Fitness' problem but mostly my own :-)

Not the gym experience I had in my teens ! Gone are the messy work areas & dull greys.
Alright, the bright yellows & purples are a bit 'over-the-top' (like working-out in a big Easter Basket) but it does make it easier to see just how CLEAN the WHOLE gym is !
Great staff , from the top down to the part-timers.

All the restrictions on gyms ( by the State of Ma. , due to Corona 19) have been met VERY professionally. So everyone's work-out is worry free. ( make sure as a member you chip-in on the wiping down of equipment )

Only thing , I hope gets better are the WEEK-END hours.
Closing at 7:00 keeps the doors open to bad lifestyle decisions for new comers & those that might be trying to get a new lifestyle and routine down pat .( Why not 11:00 , or at least 10 )

Not their fault there is a pandemic, but they still charge for services not provided. Even after I canceled they still later charged my annual fee. I used the gym four times since February then they closed. Tried to cancel when they closed for Covid-19 but you have to do it in person which you can't because they are closed. You can become a member online but you can't quit online. That is a sure sign of corporate greed. Even if they opened one close by I will never go back after learning of their bad customer service. You cannot even message the corporate office. They want no communication with customers. You got my annual due but you lost years of service for your corporate greed.

I’ve been to 3 different PF’s (including this one) and the one here in Greenfield is by far the best!

The location is good, but I do agree with others, the parking situation can get a little crazy. Luckily, as popular as it is, there are still certain times of the day when it isn’t busy, and you can find a spot easily!

The interior layout is fantastic! There are plenty of cardio machines in their own area, and the weight area is in its own corner. I can’t review on the Black Card area, but from the outside it looks pretty nice! The locker rooms/showers/bathrooms are great, and have always been super clean when I’ve gone. They always smell fresh with the dozen or so plug in air fresheners they put everywhere!

Staff at the front desk seem friendly enough. I’ve only talked with them once while getting my membership, but they seem happy to be there, and answered every question I had!

It’s nice to finally have a PF less than 5 minutes away from home, and I hope it stays!

I haven't been or belonged to a gym for over thirty years and I find this one amazing. You couldn't ask for a friendlier staff, the layout is really good and the selection of equipment too use is phenomenal. I signed up for their Black card membership and I'm glad I did. Love the massage chair and the hydro massage lounger; haven't tried the tanning booth or bed yet, but I plan on it soon. Yes, this is a newer location and it is quite busy at times, but if you time it right, you can use pretty much any piece of equipment without a wait. They are also opened 24 hours a day for five days a week; Monday to Friday. They are open Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

There isn't nearly enough parking. And today there was a sign stating there would be signs going up just for the staples customers. I've almost spent more time driving in circles waiting for a parking spot than I have in the gym. This could be a deal breaker for ending a contract.

I live in Turners Falls and work in Springfield. My PF membership is at the club in Hadley, which is way out of the way from Turners Falls and Springfield. I was really excited to see this club open in Greenfield. So much more convenient. However, I usually don't get home until between 5 and 6. The 7PM closing time is the one reason I haven't switched my membership over. the ability to exercise 24 hours is PF's biggest selling point. I can understand not being open 24 hours during the early days of this franchise, but 7PM? That's ridiculous. People have jobs. I will not be using this location even though its close to my home because I'm not around during its operating hours, and that's sad.
