Generally I love Planet fitness, yet over the last 6 months, I'm reevaluating my membership. I've been using the 30 minute workout room as the most efficient use of my time with my busy schedule. Use of equipment is limited to 1 minute, which is great. However, as of late, customers tend to use equipment as office space... texting speaking on phone...and I can't use equipment. I've complained to no avail. The protocol for use of equipment is posted on an exterior wall where patrons can't see rules. Staff don't "make the rounds" to prevent this behavior, and are usually chit-chatting behind their counter. Yesterday a customer sat on equipment for 45 minutes, precluding my using it. When I've raised concerns about inability to use equipment, in a timely manner, they suggested I speak with the customer, myself--that's not what I pay for.

Then, there are the small yet important things like when they changed their news channel line-ups; or when I asked them to change batteries on a stopped clock, they took clock down, instead. They changed papertowels to some cheap version that tear much easier than they absorb.

I know some of this sounds petty, but my exercise time is valuable. I pay to be in and out quickly, not to hang out and wait to use equipment.

This location is extremely disappointing. I booked an appointment with a gym instructor, but it was canceled without any notification—no email, no call. When I arrived, I found out the instructors were unavailable due to a surgery. Save yourself the trip and don’t bother going because they currently don't have any gym instrustors available at this location

I've been going to the gym every day for about eight months. I shower every morning. For the last three or four months, the bathroom has been a mess. The dressing rooms are awful. The same filth remains in the bathroom for days. This needs to be resolved immediately.

Planet Fitness is a good value, and convenient, as there are many sites to choose from. One drawback is that they've removed the coat hooks, so if the PF you're visiting in the colder weather doesn't have full height lockers, it becomes unwieldy to cram everything into a single, small locker. You should probably invest in a second lock so you can use two lockers to compensate.

Cleaning seems to be a huge undertaking as the gym is busy with many members. You will find some equipment in repair, paper towel dispensers either broken or empty, trash cans full of paper towels, and dirty bathrooms. Even with all of the equipment, you do get what you pay for.

I have been a member of the Hadley Planet Fitness for over two years. In the past month, I have had to stop at the front desk to let them know their front trash was full and overflowing into the vestibule. Today there was paper towels all over the bathroom floor in the women’s room as well as pieces of toilet paper. The floors needed to be mopped and there was no paper towel to wipe my hands after washing them and the stall I went in first had no toilet paper in it at 11:30 AM. I’m not real sure if this Planet Fitness is under new management, but it is not the Planet Fitness that I’m used to going to.

There is no reason for pricing to be this steep
When I called , I was told there was a great plan for physical therapy type needs , you know , for short term strengthening and such.
When we got there , that was not the case and it was much more expensive than he initially told us on the phone and what’s online ..
I truly hate that type of misrepresentation

supposedly the owner reached out to me after my initial review and wanted me to "share my concerns with their manager at my earliest convenience. " So I did that , and got told the exact same thing the first guy told me at the gym. LOL There are no programs like that , and they're sorry I was misled.
So , they will reply to your poor review to make themselves look like a great company, but alas, they are typical and misleading.
For those interested, I went on FB market place and got a beautiful treadmill. Extremely inexpensive. I've been using it for three weeks now, daily, in the comfort of my own home I may add, and I'm already seeing some differences in mobility , movement and weight loss. So for those who get discouraged with these greedy gym prices, please don't give up ~ There are many options for those of us who are struggling. I wish you all the best x

I have never had a bad experience from either staff or members and am a PF user about 6 years and several sites.
It truly is a stress-free zone. I love that ALL ages and levels of fitness abilities use PF. That in itself is encouraging. Was there this morning and it was 🙆‍♀️.
Now, if only one would open near Lincoln NH. Going on vaca 5/13-27. Nearest is 2+hrs away.😔
Unless you feel you have something to prove to everyone, in your own mind, you cannot do better than PF.

While I love going to visit Planet Fitness it was not an enjoyable visit today. While I was working out 2 tv screens had political news, one with a movie, two with sports and another showed children having surgery on their faces. After an hour I asked at the front desk if they could please change channel 1 to a different program. She said she could not change a channel it had to be approved by their corporate office. Corporate isn't open on a Saturday or Sunday. I ended up leaving because I found watching surgery upsetting. I feel my request was not over the top.

Response to owner: So my question is why couldn't the channel be changed when you yourself admit the show playing was inappropriate? I know you can't control what a station shows but you sure can use the remote to change the channel. And for me to be told by the desk worker that I could call corporate sure doesn't help when it is a Saturday. When a customer has to walk out because they are uncomfortable it does not reflect well.

As a PF Black Card member, I’ve been to a number of locations in different states. This is one of the better ones, mainly because of the size and number of members. It’s rarely overcrowded. As a football (soccer) fan, I really wish they could change the channels when Euro, Copa, EPL, etc matches are televised. I’ve asked about this, and the employees say they have no control over what’s on TV. With little free time, I don’t want to have to choose between watching a match or going to the gym. I wish the franchise owners were more in touch with the momentous sporting events that members are interested in, so we weren’t stuck with Law & Order reruns or whatever the dreck is that keeps cycling on the screens. Also, the channels that constantly air surgical and pharmaceutical weight loss commercials that fat-shame women need to be turned off. Screening these at PF directly conflicts with the messaging of PF and makes me reluctant to bring my daughter to the gym with me.

Once I talked to a representative on the phone they told me I could get a full year membership for the same price as a black card membership on my credit card. The Planet Fitness in the Hadley mall is an excellent gym. It's divided pretty much evenly between cardio equipment and strength training equipment. It's a large, clean, well lit gym that's going to meet the needs of pretty much everybody except the most serious of bodybuilders.

There are people at pretty much every Fitness level and everyone seems to get along just fine.

There are four primary areas:
1. Cardio, which includes treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stair climbers, and Rowing machines.
2. Weight training: Plenty of free weights in terms of dumbbells, but relatively limited as far as barbells. There are six Smith machines and a variety of Stack weight machines. I have never had to wait for very long to use any of the equipment.
3. Circuit: This area includes resistance training equipment to work out your entire body with the idea that you do each machine for a set period of time and are finished in 30 minutes. Excellent for organizing a general whole body workout.
4. Abs and glutes: This area is also separate from the main gym area and includes a variety of equipment for training glutes and abs. Works well as a circuit.

There are also areas with massage chairs and tanning beds that are reserved for Planet Fitness Black Card members.

There are two large locker rooms complete with showers and lockers that can be locked if you bring your own lock or purchase one from the front desk. There are also monitored lockers if you feel more comfortable using those for valuable items.

Considering the price, this is an excellent place to get fit.

They were charging full yearly fees of like 60 bucks even though the showers and everything were closed for covid. They have pizza days....enough said lol. I have been working out in this franchise for a while and this gym is the one that closes too early. Usually it is open at least up to 12am but this one closes at 9pm. I usually work from 9am to 7pm and it is not good for the office workers to work out after work. So the only option is before work and I see the one in North Hampton is open 24 hours in weekdays. Planet fitness is a great place to begin with If you're not a hardcore bodybuilder, as they do not have barbells and bench presses.
PF has good machines to workout, has decent amount of weights, plus has a full body hydro massager which does the job perfectly and many more such amenities to use.
Additionally, you get the access to any of the pf locations. So if you travel alot or just want to do some physical exercise and keep your body moving definitely worth the price.

Really good overall, classic planet fitness, clean showers, good staff. Lots of cardio machines, lots of machines in general. Use the parking lot in the back for easier access and not having to walk through the mall. Wish they had a non smith-machine barbell for better deadlifts/rows/cleans/various lifts and were open later on weekends; but for your $ a good deal. Hours are different from what Google tells you (more hours), 24/5 Monday-fri & 6-7 sat-sun. Tanning beds and massage chairs work.

6 years ago I signed up for a $21 membership with the Hadley's planet fitness. I used my membership for 3 month. Everything was ok till I called them; and let them know that I needed to cancel my subscription because I moved out of the state. I was told that I had to come back in person and cancel. I asked if they had any other options they said no, but I was told I could write a letter which a did. Fast forward to today nothing has been done, but they religiously take their money every month for the past 6 years. I have tried everything at my bank, empty out the account, so it will bounce but it got worse; coz now I am stuck with the overdraft fees. So is there any way to get out of this nightmare or are you going to keep taking money for the next 10 years. I need help

BEWARE! I’m not in the habit of writing reviews but in regards to this place I felt I had to. Attempted to sign up for this gym online. There was a glitch in their online system that wouldn’t let the transaction complete. I figured heavy use or something of the like. I received a couple messages from them saying it failed to go through, none saying the transaction completed. I decided I’d keep working out at home, I have a pretty decent setup, let the holiday / New Year rush pass. Next I notice my credit card charged 50 bucks, $40 maintenance fee and $10 monthly membership fee. No notification that I even had a membership. I called, cancelled it so as not to get charged again, explained the issue. They checked to see if I had used the gym, I had not yet refuse a refund. They only want the quick buck, steer clear.

Planet Fitness should be ashamed of themselves for requiring people to come to the store location during a pandemic, or rely on writing a letter that may take weeks to arrive. I like to come here after Taekwondo class and utilize the massage chairs. Being a black card member, I work out on the machines at my home club and relax here after my martial arts cardio workout which makes this a great location for a planet fitness. The staff was very pleasant to talk to and was actually attentive each time I walked up to the desk. I have noticed in other planet fitness locations, the staff appear to be highschool drop outs with no customer service experience because they pay more attention to their phones or to each other than they do to their actual job and the members, but here I actually felt noticed and tended to which was a nice change. I'll certainly be returning more regularly. :)

I go to the gym almost every night after work. I'm a heavy person who has lost two pant sizes since starting cardio and strength training. Any time I have questions, the trainers behind the desk are happy to hop out and show me a new exercise. Their patience and knowledge are top notch. I am a relatively new member and I am recovering from major physical and emorional trauma so I have only used the Spa facilities. I have noticed a lot if provlems with consistency from the staff. Certain employees seem a bit sketchy but by and large I have had decent experiences.
The equipment is awesome, especially the Hydro Massage beds.
They do seem dedicated to improving, which is always a good sign.
Bewate! Some of the sraff are freaking HOT! Omg!

This was a nice change of venue. Our first time at this location and the staff was very nice and helpful. A little smaller than the location we normally attend, but it wasn't too bad, some of the exercise equipment is a little close to each other. It was a little slow at the time, so it made for being able too use any piece of equipment easy. It is a convenient location, so I can imagine that it does get busy at times

I've been to several Planet Fitness locations and this is definitely one of the better ones. Clean facilities, friendly staff, and good equipment.

The facility is huge and spotless and there are reminders everywhere that this exercise and wellness center wants people to check their egos at the door! I joined the Black Club because the price is so reasonable and the massage chairs are SO good for my medical woes. Staff is all smiles and helpful. There is always high turnover for jobs so some staff may not know the answer to your question but they WILL bring you the staff member who has your answer or will find out for you. I hate gyms but I LOVE Planet Fitness Hadley!

I am here 4 days a week on average. My only complaint is that the women's bathroom stalls are often unclean and not stocked. Also, the water filling station for reusable bottles needs a serious cleaning. These things probably wouldn't be as frustrating if staff didn't seem to spend most of their time hanging out at the desk and on their cell phones.Some of the male staff can be somewhat off putting as well. The workout areas are great!
