This is one of the most annoying Planet Fitness I've ever been to!! It's dirty. I went in on a Monday, and the same water bottle was in the same spot that it was in on that Saturday!!!! I kid you not. There is a school directly across from this gym, and let me tell you, those kids be in there playing around, sitting on the machines while using their phones, not Even using the machine!! Meanwhile I'm trying to get my workout in!! The people at the front desk are always on their phones, never speak. There is 1 black guy with glasses,he is THE ONLY professional worker there. I am currently looking for a different location because this one, is for kids and the birds

3/7: Arrived there a little before 9pm (they close at 10) and the front desk employee didn’t let us in because “they were the only one working there”… They locked the door on us and a bunch of other people and we were all literally left outside and just told to leave. Absolutely unacceptable, rude and ridiculous to not let people in over an hour before you close. Do better!

It doesn’t make your job much harder if you let more people in to watch them scan?? They’re supposed to clean all equipment at the end regardless. I can’t even believe it!

Very clean facility, all the machines work as they should, staff is kind. The hydro massage beds were down though. It was my first day here, hopefully they get that squared away because I'm going to be in a world of hurt if not. The people here are courteous and not much talking about going on. Just everyone minding their business and getting their work in. I like it.

UPDATE Thu Jan 30:

The Hydromassage beds are back!! Makes such a difference, this is my third time here in four days so they were only out the first two times I was here. They took care of getting them up and running in a timely manner and that speaks volumes. Love it! Thank you.

Almost perfect workout experience. Would be perfect with some more smith machines since your average gym has 4-8 benches. And several of the machines on the top level and in the 30 minute workout section have been broken for some time (one of the leg curl machines have been broken for almost a year). And it'd be nice to fix the hooks on the broken lockers since it limits where people can put things during the more peak hours.

Beware of the money scam. They will promote the black card and charge no sign up fee but if you want a standard memeber ship they will charge you a sign up fee. If you want to downgrade from black card, they will charge you a new sign up fee but if you want to upgrade there is no fee. So you will be paying a penalty if you don’t choose the package they want or if you downgrade from it. Also if you want to cancel they will tell you have to come in person and make it difficult. If you reach out to the franchise for help they will say each location is independently owned. You will not be able to communicate with planet fitness or have them take ownership beyond the “manager” of one of there locations.

Some machines have been out of service for months especially in the 30-minute workout area and the manager on site flat out refuses to sign up with my Medicare insurance company so that I can get gym membership reimbursement, I will have to transfer to another gym.

The facilities are clean, restrooms and all. The workout equipment is in good shape. The staff are friendly, welcoming and quick to assist with anything I may need as a member going in for a work out session. It can be busy but isn't always a super-packed gym from my experience.

Most folks who go there are chill and easy going Just be prepared to go hard with the exercise. Lots of folks are in good shape these days but don't feel intimidated by it. Good location for both occasional gym goers and consistent fitness junkies!

I called the branch closest to me 1/2/23 at 2:37 PM and asked why I keep receiving notifications about my membership having billing issues when I cancelled it 5 months ago. The girl on the phone said she wasn’t able to find me in the system. I asked why that would be because I’ve been to the club and had a membership. She said it’s because of the franchises and the location I signed up in may not fall into that franchise. She said to not worry about it and as long as I’m not being billed, to just ignore it. I changed my credit card exactly at the time I cancelled the membership. The card they originally had on file, does not exist anymore. I worked as a GM for WOW for years and I know this process. I can’t ignore it because they will send me to collections because my membership was never canceled like it was supposed to be. I asked for a general corporate number and she hung up on me. I called back and someone else picked up and they hung up as well. I called back a third time, and at this point, I’ll deal with the cancellation issues elsewhere because clearly they’re not capable of giving me any information to help. However; now I’m looking to make a customer service complaint. I asked for their names and she said “Dolly and Lucy.” Strong feeling these are fake names so I asked for a managers name and “Lucy” said her managers name is “Beth” and then immediately hung up on me. I called back. “Dolly” picked up and told me her name was Dolly. I asked to speak with Beth the manager and she said “who’s Beth?” I told her Lucy said your managers name is Beth and Dolly said that sometimes they call her Beth but the managers name is Destiny. I asked when Destiny would be in for work and Dolly said she isn’t able to tell me. Funny response considering when another member left a review for this location and the (owner) left a response saying “If the club manager is not available, please be sure to ask when they will be, so that you may speak with them directly. Thank you; have a great day!”

I’m not sure why the owner would tell an unpleased member to ask then the manager would be available, when I couldn’t get these fake named front desk employees to tell me when I could talk to the manager.

Im also not sure why this process needed to be so confusing and difficult. I spent a grand total of 5 minutes talking to an employee. I was not taking much of their time. Why am I tossing around 4 different names trying to just talk to a manager? Poor staff. Look elsewhere.

My mom and I joined this gym location yesterday due it being in walking distance from my home. My mom and I were greeted so friendly and professional by Jada. She gave us great information so we signed up. Jada is great representation for PF. Please consider here giving her a higher position with a salary increase. This AWFUL establishment replaced a defining Dollar Tree location which was easily accessible within safe walking distance to anyone surrounding Hyde Park OR Mattapan! Not only is the business not open 24 HOURS!!!!!!!!!! LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has permanently tainted the easy access to cheap and affordable food, drinks, and other miscellaneous items within the area to the lower class or poverty folk such as myself. If possible I would genuinely buy ownership of this property just to sell it back to Dollar Tree so that they can open up once more. I get disgusted every time I walk past the building knowing what glory once stood in its place, only to get further insulted by a hand delivered mail parcel stating that this business is now open! They are actively insulting and disrespecting my respect and honor to Dollar Tree, never go here to make protest for the location that has been lost to a faceless and empty building, bringing joy and excitement to no one.

Edit: It seems they are too afraid to face me as I speak the truth. Listen to me clearly, this establishment is a stain on the community and the businesses around it! ITS A SCAM! Having a Burger King RIGHT across from this place? Why do you think they put it here, so people would eat there so they can burn fat here! Its an endless loop! Great local gym , it worth the money to be a black card member. You can visit any gym anywhere with no issue.

One side note, be sure to keep your monthly payments updated otherwise you will be charged 15 dollars late fees. The gym should have a better system to alert members before charging them late fees.

But cleaning staff needs to pay closer attention to the upper level stretch & ab area, there is always alot of dust & lint & what appears to be pet hair on floor & mats.
The disinfectant spray bottles need to be checked & refilled more often.
This location needs to add either or both a stretch cage & the stretch chairs. I hope to see these improvements consistently done & the equipment additions.

The lack of transparency around monthly
membership fees is a deal breaker for me. When I signed up, I provided my credit card information and was told a checking/savings account had to be on file as a backup. The initiation fee was charged to my credit card. Well today I noticed the monthly fee was taken from checking account and the primary payment source was switched without notification. I called the 888 number and club and was told the checking account must be the primary account which was not communicated initially. I don’t do business with companies that have shoddy practices. The club should make this clear as Im not a person who likes automatic deductions on my accounts!!

First place I checked out was the locker/bathroom. Not only was it cleaned but it also had a pleasant smell. Which is one of the reasons I join other than the fact it’s open 24/5. Convenient location for me. New equipment, clean locker rooms, friendly and helpful staff. They have just about everything I need as far as weights/machines (for the price) - the only two suggestions I’d make:
1) add more paper towel dispensers on the walls with spray bottles next to them. I’m always looking around to see where I can find paper towels and spray, and sometimes there just towels and no spray in a spot - and sometimes a hand sanitizer bottler next to towels (need spray not sanitizer) … and
2) please consider getting cheap little tables for the tanning and red light booths. There’s nowhere to put your stuff down in there.

Other than those two suggestions, the place and staff are great!

really big, it’s got 2 floors and is a 2min walk from my house. their hours are also really generous and it’s a pretty mixed bag with the people who go there so whether you go often or just occasionally you shouldn’t feel intimidated.
