This used to be one of the best gym’s in the area but has gone downhill in recent months. Machines always seem to be broken for extreme lengths of time (both chest flies have been out of order for months), equipment is always dirty and there is always trash (water bottles, paper towels) scattered across the gym floor and locker room. All things considered, PF may not even be the cheapest gym option anymore. Very disappointing.

I’ve been going to planet fitnesses for years all over the country and this is by far one of the most welcoming clubs. This club is also very clean from the equipment to the tanning beds. The VIP employee Gina is the best person to greet you first thing in the morning and she is non stop doing things around the gym area if you ever need something or a have a question. 10/10 recommend for the overall gym experience

I really want to be able to give this place a good review because it has a pretty decent variety of equipment both weights and cardio however I cannot. This gym has been very disappointing for me in the time that I have been going there. My biggest complaints have to surround the lack of enforcement and action from the staff. People are allowed to workout in sandals, crocs, dress pants, jeans, work boots and no one says a thing. Most people don't wipe down the equipment after and a lot of the time the bins for the paper towels is overflowing and the paper towels are empty. People talk on their phones loudly and slam weights. The bathrooms are fairly dirty and the whole gym has clear signs its either being cleaned lazily or not at all. I would love to address any number of these things because they should be a simple fix but I have no confidence that anything would be done since i have seen these things done directly in front of staff and they do nothing. I hope they turn things around because it has a lot of potential but as it stands is a low quality gym.

She is doing an amazing job! The gym is so clean and everything is in its place, no more private personal trainers taking up equipment for long periods of time, and friendly welcoming employees.

Part of driving across America is you go to a lot of planet fitness locations. This one has nice staff and hot water in the shower and it's designed so your clothes don't get wet. It does not have an annoying multi level design. It does however close super early on weekends and have giant fans installed over the entire floor instead of ac. Which means that I gained 15 lbs while in Marlborough bc my autistic self simply cannot get my usual time in biking when the air won't stop touching me. I tried wearing long sleeves and hoodies but unless I literally come in wearing a 10 lb slanket it's just intolerable to be on the floor here. Cannot relax and enjoy my session.

i recently joined the planet fitness gym community and only have been going for a couple weeks, me and a few friends decided to come to the gym at apex entertainment center, i walked in very happy with how nice the establishment is and was excited to workout i was walking on the treadmill for about 2 minutes when i realized a creep was starring at me we made eye contact and i turned around right before he walked into the men’s bathroom and i saw his camera out on his phone just as he was walking by me i fully believe he took a picture of me and i am a young girl so i was very scared and caught off guard so i ran into the bathroom crying and panicking where i was greeted by a female assistant manager who honestly didn’t do much but ask me a bunch of questions i could barely answer bc i was in such shock, she told me she cannot access camera footage and asked if i was gonna leave or stay? i obviously left but i just feel like more could have been done i know there’s not a lot they can do because it was such a fast and discrete moment. but i had called a day later bc she told me the manager can review the footage and it’s now a week later i have called 2 separate times and nothing has been done and the real manager thought it was weird that the assistant didn’t review the footage or even notify him that an incident has happened. so if you wanna go to this planet fitness just know the staff does not care if your comfortable and being sexually harassed and continue to let this guy workout

So the showers have been struggling for sometime at the Apex PF in Marlborough, with hot water often short lived or not working. Finally they announced the showers would be closed for a few days and I thought great, they’re finally going to clean the stalls and fix the hot water. Well, the stalls are still coated with soap scum and the floors near the urinals with urine. As for the showers, the maintenance that required a three day shutdown appears to have been limited to replacing 4 shower heads with the cheapest ones they could find. Having set themselves back $100 dollars on this extravagance, they are apparently recouping the costs by eliminating the hot water altogether. The management obviously doesn’t give a flying you know what, as long as those sweet membership fees keep coming in. Or, maybe management does care, but has a nasty gambling habit and needs to skimp on maintenance so legs don’t get broken. Who knows - not my problem. Do yourself a favor and don’t join this gym. The PFs in Shrewsbury and Westborough are far better.

I have never been treated with such rudeness and disgust at a gym in my life. I came into Planet Fitness with 2 friend who one of them had the black wherever pass and he could bring my friend with him, as a guest and i used my summer pass before, but apparently it expired with notifying me in any shape or form. thinking it would be a simple and positive experience. Instead, I was met with one of the most unprofessional front desk employees I’ve ever encountered.

This female staff member was outright rude, dismissive, and looked at us like we didn’t even belong there. Instead of showing the slightest bit of courtesy or understanding for a first time visitor, she immediately shut me down, refused to let me off the hook for ONE DAY, and basically forced me to sign up if I wanted to work out. The entire time, she stared at us with visible disgust, as if helping us was beneath her.

The way she handled the situation was absolutely unacceptable. Customer service should NEVER feel like this cold, judgmental, and downright disrespectful. If Planet Fitness wants to brand itself as the “Judgment Free Zone,” maybe they should start with their own employees, because this experience was nothing BUT judgment.

Just be careful with brunette girl at front desk if you for some reason decided to work out there which at point you need to question yourself for wanting to workout in there.

This young Karen called Shayleen that works at the Marlborough location kicked out my friend and I from the gym today. Yelled at us in front of everyone with the biggest attitude. I pay for my black card every month and she wouldn't let us go in. My friend tried her wifi which wasn't working and we couldn't check her in as a guest. Never had this happened to me before, very unprofessional. Everyone else there is super nice. Planet fitness do better when hiring people and making them the manager. Lost a costumer.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Tonight, my mother and aunt visited Planet Fitness in Apex. My aunt has a membership, but my mother does not. She wanted to sign up tonight. Once she filled out the form with her information, they requested her card details as well as a blank check. (Because my mother and aunt were planning to work out, of course, they did not bring checks.) This is especially surprising because usually, when you sign up for a gym, they don’t ask for a blank check. My mother proceeded to give her card information and suggested they keep charging her membership to that card, as she wanted to find a solution.

The manager came over and, with a terrible racist attitude, told them that they wouldn’t let them train for free and that they should look for free gyms (which was never requested by either of them because my aunt is already enrolled and my mother wanted to enroll). They did not accept my mother’s payment for enrollment and instead sent my mother and aunt to look for another gym.

The lesson here is that the manager working tonight at this Planet Fitness should take some customer service classes. She should also learn empathy and respect for customers and diversity because she is not following the values that Planet Fitness promotes with its slogan. This is not a place where “everyone feels welcome,” and the people who are enrolled or trying to enroll are the ones who drive the business that pays her salary.

They’re always rearranging the equipment placement probably to try and improve the layout which is nice for them to consider. UPDATE 6/28/22: Come on Planet Fitness, you could have done a much better job of letting everyone know that you would be closed for 3 days. What about an email blast, or mass texting? I believe you have everyone's email/ cellphones. This was done very poorly.
My experience was this. I pulled into Planet Fitness Monday morning @ 5am, and noticed that none of the lights were on. I said oh great someone's late. I watched as about 20 people headed for the door. I thought to myself they'll be down in a minute. It took about 3 minutes, and they were all down and looking very aggravated. The whole parking lot emptied out with attitude (including myself). I assumed that someone just didn't show up, so I came back the next morning thinking I'll ask what happened. Once again, there were people there, but this time the lights were on. I said oh good. I started heading up with everyone and I got up there and noticed the notes on the door. Once again fuming, but for a different reason. A few of us stopped in the lobby downstairs to vent our frustrations on the lack of communication.

The next day (Wednesday) I happened to be in the area, and I saw two young ladies getting out of their car with workout clothes on, so I drove over and let them know the bad news before they walked upstairs. Once again, more shocked members. One last point, I drove over there 2 days in a row, and my drive is 40 minutes round trip each day. With the price of gas being what it is, it's another reason this bothers me so much.

I Joined this club in December 2021, and I have to say I'm very happy with it. So why the 4 stars and not 5? Starting during the holidays, it went downhill with the cleanliness. After the new year it was really bad. The men's room was a disaster. I could tell some of the people / members that used it were out partying (eating and drinking), and I think that they must have still been high when they came back the next weekend.

I'll give them that as an explanation, but to come right out and say it, I'm sorry that those few people belong to the same nice gym I do. I'd say over 95% of the people that use that gym are responsibly clean and caring people, but as you know anywhere you go there's always a few that could care less. Very sad!

That being said the staff didn't appear ready for the onslaught of a few disgusting people. Thats why I'm hoping that the next time I can give them a 5 star because they really do deserve it. Over all the staff do an excellent, job, and take their job seriously. They probably could use some help during that same period of time next year. I know; easier said than done with covid and the scarcity of help. I do commend you guys for running a good business during these trying times. This review is just putting the blame where it belongs. We all share the blame.

Tried to put my membership on pause due to an injury. They gave me an email and no one has reached back out. I’m getting notifications of expensive charges. I tried the email provided no response. Tried a different email similar situation.

I have the black card as I travel and want to work out wherever I go and it’s definitely paid for itself, so I’m glad I have it.

Well, it’s been a few years since I’ve been to the Marlborough location. I used several machines and the end caps were half off of some of the machines, which was a surprise and others definitely looked worn like the paint is chipped on some of the machines and looks like it’s been patched.

I’ll go back because I want to get a workout in but it’s not the best PF I’ve been to.

That said, the locker rooms are clean and I had no problem getting the machines I needed and it was around 4:30pm.

Good location with ample parking, never too busy. Clean, bright, really tall ceilings and well ventilated. Semi awkward layout, but they utilize the L shaped space well. Equipment usually in working order, always in good shape while working (no cracked seats or worn padding) and rarely a wait for machines.

I personally enjoy the line of treadmills along the huge window wall with tons of natural sunlight for my warm up/wind down. At night people can look in on you like a fish in an aquarium, which may be awkward for you. If so there's another line that is internally located to use instead.

My only gripe is the music has been too loud on occasion and the soundtrack is terrible. Usually that is fine too, but on the rare days it's blasting over my Sony wxm4s I just cannot work out as it's too distracting. My kingdom for a gym that doesn't play music.

Just joined a few days ago. Here are some things I need to make 5 stars.
No hot water? This is unacceptable and while not the fault of PF, needs to be escalated with urgency.
No scale? Again, unacceptable for a gym not to have a scale to check our progress and stay motivated. Seems like a fairly inexpensive solution, could be implemented with urgency.
Finally, provide paper towels in the bathroom. They are all over the workout area, and the expectation is to wipe down the equipment to keep clean. However, before and after I shave, brush teeth, etc...there is nothing to wipe down the sink and counter areas? Again, unacceptable, but a simple solution. I'm eager to change my rating, and asking you to implement these simple amenities, (and escalating the hot water issue) without further delay. These are fitness center basics.

The 2nd thing is there is 0 hot water in the facility, I am not blaming them 100% because that is the management of the Apex building however, since they are a tenant they should have taken the steps necessary to make sure that these things were taken care of since you're a gym Or a fitness center

I cancelled my membership on June 4th and I noticed I was charged my yearly fee on June 1. My renewal date should have been June 12. Planet Fitness in Marlborough refused to reimburse me. I was a member for years and this upset me greatly.

I wish they’d also support all
Kind of gym goers such as the heavy lifters but here they clearly have names for this type of lifter; ‘hunkers’ 🤷🏽‍♂️. Sadly we don’t live a perfect world so we take the good with the bad and just go with it.

They’re keeping it clean and the members are also doing a great job at doing their own cleaning as well.

Drink station kept pretty neat and the service here is overall great and uplifting.

There’s no short of equipment and the atmosphere is proactive.

I started at Planet Fitness during the pandemic at the Charleston, SC site. Then I returned to NE and I am so impressed with this company. I have worked out at 15 different locations and they are always well staffed, clean and safe. The Black Card is worth the extra spend.

I haven’t been going to this location long but every time I go I never have a problem finding an open bench of machine that I need, the inside is massive and inviting. I have two gym memberships because the fit factory is slowly declining in quality so I’m happy that I have a second option that’s worth the drive.

I like going to the gym, and they have great machines! Although I doubt it is regularly clean!! the flor mats are full of hair and dusts. Last night I took a shower and it was NASTY!!!!!!!! Full of lots of different types of hair, honestly I'm still feeling sick thinking about it! Please clean the showers!!!!!! Next time I'll take a picture as proof!

This location is HUGE. The staff is not very interactive or welcoming. I asked a question about my membership and got a one word response. The location is so big and it is hard to find specific machines you are looking for and I couldn't find the weights. It was very busy at 6pm on a Tuesday. Was able to find some may space to stretch quietly. Not a place for someone looking to have space and some quiet while they work out. People were taking phone calls on the gym floor despite signs asking for calls to be in the lobby. Very clean location though. Also, no one was wearing masks.

Really like this place. The location is in a nice area and makes me feel safe (inside and outside the building). Lots of equipment and the facilities are always very clean. Only issues I have sometimes is that some good strength equipment is never free during peak times, someone else is always on it. Otherwise glad I found this place
