Julie and the team at Women's Fitness of Boston are truly exceptional! They offer a comprehensive wellness program that focuses on strength training, nutrition, and overall health. The one-on-one personal training and coaching sessions with Julie, and the supportive online community have been wonderful --and fun! In the past six months, I have achieved results beyond what I imagined. Julie is highly skilled, wise, and empathic. She personalizes the program to motivate each of her clients. She listens attentively and shares her extensive knowledge and experience. I had an unexpected eye surgery about 2 months after starting the program, and thought I would have to put the program on pause. Julie worked with me on low-impact and safe options to continue to make progress toward my goals. I highly recommend Women's Fitness of Boston!

If you want someone who will work with you where you are, then WFOB is what you need. From fitness to mindframe, Julie does it all. She is merciful while also continually kicking your butt in exercise and workouts. The weekly calls with a community of likeminded ladies is so motivating. Highly recommend.

Julie is THE BEST. I began working with her almost a year ago after getting frustrated with my mid-life sedentary body and worried about my health. Since beginning Iโ€™ve lost weight and inches, gained muscle, and I am in better shape than I have been in years. WFOB meets women where they are and Julie has just the right mix of support and pushing you to reach your goals. The challenges throughout the year are also a great way to join the community with a little healthy competition. If youโ€™re a woman of any age looking for someone to support you while also holding you accountable for developing life-changing habits, WFOB is the place for you!

I was looking for accountability and found WFOB by scrolling but I am so glad I did! Julie does an amazing job of instructing classes - doing the workout with us and teaching nutrition. She keeps us motivated with challenges that feel doable not overwhelming. I love the live group classes and knowing others are working out with me- we may be in different states but we are all in it together! WFOB is AWESOME!

Great personalized coaching for exercise and nutrition. Do say that this program works is an understatement. Julie is an amazing person inside and out. Her motivation in the last year has put me on a positive path to improved health, changing my relationship with food, and my mindset towards how I see myself.

I was I introduced to WFOB through Groupon, where I bought 10 personal training sessions. I wanted to get more into strength training versus cardio, so I thought a personal trainer would help me navigate all those scary machines I always see at the gym.
My trainer was Melanie, and I like to tell people that she wasn't only my trainer, but also my spiritual guide. She went above and beyond to make sure that I was healthy physically, but also mentally, and that did a lot for my confidence. I enjoyed the first 10 sessions with her so much that I signed up for 12 more.
I also took a Strong by Zumba class and it didn't have anything to do with Zumba, but I loved it all the same. This is a fantastic gym that is well equipped and well-priced for a place in downtown Boston.

RE: 30 days for $30 special. Have attended 3 weeks of Zumba and Strong classes. Highly recommend both! The music is great and the instructors are top notch and super friendly.

Docked one Star due to the age of the facility and lighting. While not brand new, management clearly works hard to keep the space clean and organized. Impressed with the experience and looking forward to attending more classes!

This place is GREAT! I visited it last week to check t out, the front desk was great. They offer great classes (zumba, weight lifting, cardio circuit) and the price is so affordable (50$ +half of it as an initiating fee total 84$ ) Plus that they have a one week trial which I thought is a great thing to try before commiting. I love this gym, the trainers are nice and the push you to the core!

I love WFOB! It's well located, fairly priced, always clean and welcoming. This is the first gym where I've felt like I'm a part of a community, not a gross downtown gym. I'm never going back to Planet Fitness now that I know what great training, personality, warmth and encouragement I can get from WFOB! The owner, Julie, works so hard to make sure that everyone gets a great experience. This is a truly wonderful small business!

I started taking classes at WFOB last winter and I was instantly hooked! I loved the Zumba class with Dianna. When I felt ready, I started taking more classes like Piloxing and Body Shred with Julie and LOVED them. By the spring I found myself going their five days a week and saw major results. Iโ€™ve always had trouble committing to a gym. At WFOB I felt comfortable and motivated to come to the gym! The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and motivating. When I canโ€™t make it to a class I love to use the machines and weight room.I never have to wait for a machine or weights. Most members work in the city and go before or after work. I work nights but the class schedule and gym hours work perfectly for me .WFOB is a hidden gem! Iโ€™m so happy I found it!!

Amazing gym! I've only been to one other gym- at my university- and I felt so judged and I was too uncomfortable to go. Women's Fitness of Boston is super judgement free and the membership fee is WAY more affordable than other women only gyms in Boston. Everything is clean and well maintained and the staff is all very friendly. The group classes are amazing as well. I'm always looking forward to going back!

Highly recommend this place, especially if you live in the neighborhood. A membership here is nearly half the price of gyms in the area, without sacrificing quality. While it may not be as glossy as other, more expensive places, it has everything I need in a comfortable atmosphere. All equipment is clean and organized. There's a good array of cardio machines, strength training, weights, exercise balls, yoga mats, etc. They have lockers available for use, plus showers and even hair dryers. They also offer fitness classes and personal training. It can get somewhat crowded, but I usually go in the morning and am only one of maybe 5 other people. Plus, they offer a free 1-week trial, which is a really nice and convenient way to figure out if the gym works for you.

Just a couple minor downsides. I do wish their schedule fit mine a little better...I prefer working out in the mornings, but most classes/personal training sessions take place midday or in the evenings (which is great for people who work in the area). They are closed on Sundays, but I think this is typical of most gyms around here, plus they are open for limited hours on Saturdays. I also wish they had a few more higher-weight dumbbells (for example they have 10, 15, and 20 lbs, but not 12.5 or 17.5)...but that's really a minor quibble.

Basically, this is a very good gym at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommend!

Pros: Very comfortable setting for females to work out in, all the staff are very friendly and willing to help you, Great location and the price is pretty decent. They even provide lotion to you in the locker rooms!
Cons: Not open on Sunday and close at 1pm on Saturday, locker room can get pretty crowded (not a fan of the key system for the locks), no water fountain

I purchased the fitness class deal with my sister and we have been to a few of the classes so far. Some of the classes are definitely for beginners who are looking to start getting into shape. Tabata & Kickboxing were awesome, definitely try those classes if you can! Price is great for the area and gym is clean/well taken care of.

Cons: No working water fountain, only 6 spin bikes available, and when a class gets out, the locker room gets very crowded. Other than that, I am really enjoying the gym and can't wait to use the rest of my classes!

I absolutely LOVE the Women's Fitness of Boston Gym! It's a great place to work out and has amazing classes. I recently tried Bootcamp and Tae box flex - both were fantastic. The machines and weight room are also well equipped and well taken care of. I enjoy running on the treadmill and watching Karen's Zumba class. The staff and instructors are always helpful and fun to talk to. Look forward to going back!

Pro's - fairly inexpensive compared to the other gyms around, convenient location to downtown Boston, a good selection of classes to choose from (some I would DEFINITELY recommend (Dawn's Tabata is awesome, Julie's kickboxing is awesome, and the spin classes are all great workouts), other I would not (step class wasn't much of a workout, but it is a great beginner class for someone). The good instructors really push you while also watching out for you - they will fix your form and encourage you to keep pushing yourself. Great music too!

Con's - locker room is fairly squished, but there have always been enough lockers for everyone. Some of the classes are for very beginner exercisers, but that may be a pro for some people!

The BEST GYM THUS FAR in the heart of the city! Women's fitness of Boston gives the atmosphere of a spa with the comfort of your local family owned business. Julie the owner is amazing and actually teaches a phenomenal boot camp class. The staff are friendly and helpful! The gym is spotless and I love that there is a security guard at the entrance because it is downtown and Women's fitness of Boston is a all women's gym. Do not look any further this is the gym for you ladies!! I have been a member at WOW downtown, BSC downtown but both fell very short! I finally feel at home and comfortable in a gym where I can achieve all of my workout results!

I moved here from Ohio in May and originally joined a gym somewhat close to where I live in Dorchester. Especially with the cold winter I did not find myself using it as much as I should. I work right in Downtown Crossing and had received a personal training package from WFOB from Groupon for a gift. I went to go check out the place and immediately I knew it was where I should have gotten a membership originally. The owner set up a corporate account for my place of work, was extremely friendly and helpful. The place is clean, accommodating and has a really good variety of classes. It is also like 3 feet away from where I work so it's a lot harder to make excuses not to go now. I also really like how you aren't locked into real big contracts. It's definitely transparent and clear. I recommended it to all of my coworkers.

WFOB is really more than just a place to work out; it's a community. The hands-on nature of ownership and the personal connections instructors and employees forge with the members is truly unparalleled to any other gym I have been a member of. On top of well maintained cardio and strength equipment, Women's Fitness offers a variety of group exercise classes (try Zumba and Tabata!) at various times throughout the day to complement anyone's schedule.

Aside from the great workout facilities, the locker room is VERY well maintained, inviting, and full of amenities. Complimentary lockers (WITH lock and key), iron, scales, hair dryers, lotions, and an ever-chaning supply of free samples make this a locker room you don't feel liek you have to throw your flip-flops on and rush out of as fast as possible.

Add personal training options and a tanning bed to the list of features of this gym, and you really can't say much more wonderful things about it. Absolutely worth your time, energy, and burned calories!

Women's Fitness of Boston is such a hidden gem right in the middle of the financial district. It is affordable, clean, convenient, and has a wide variety of workout options. I love the spin classes and would also like to try a few other types of classes as well. They have a lot of different machines to use and a good amount of treadmills for any runners out there. I have always struggled finding a gym in my price range that is convenient to both work and home. This fits all my criteria and I am excited be a member.

I have been going to this gym for about 10 months and this by far has been the best gym experience I've had by far. On top of the location being so easily accessible, the facility is very clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I dislike the mingling and meet-and-greet hours that go on at most gyms since I like the get the best of my work-out during the hour and half that I set aside for gym, but at Women's fitness that is a concern I've never had. There is enough equipment so that no one has to wait for machines and tons of classes are offered included with your membership. The owner, Julie, is great and very personable. ^_^

There is one thing I wish the gym had, although it doesn't take away from anything. The gym lacks a stair master and being that that's the fastest cardio way to burn calories and condition your legs at the same time I wish the facility had at least one of these machines.

Another great thing that stands out about this gym is the diversity. Women of all ages come here and it does not feel like it's catered to anyone in specific and I enjoy that because you will not feel out of place. The place overall is welcoming and efficient regardless of what your fitness goals are.

I highly recommend this gym and staff!

I love Women's fitness! They have great classes and a good amount of cardio equipment. It's really great being a part of an all women's gym. Even the locker room seems catered to women. I've been a member of a lot of gyms and none have given you a key to use a locker, but Women's fitness does. It makes things a lot easier. There's shower stalls and things available to use such as little hair spray bottles, lotions, blow dryers, etc.

The reason I don't give it all 5 stars is because the days and hours aren't that great. The weekends work best for most people I'd assume but Saturday they're only open until 1 and Sunday they aren't open at all

Overall, great gym in a great location!

This gym is absolutely amazing! It is located in between State Street, Downtown Crossing, and Park Street Stations (which makes it extremely easy to get to). There are also fitness classes and personal trainers available. I personally work out there every morning and love every second of it. There is never a wait for machines or any equipment. This is a great gym. It is in a very convenient location if you work in the downtown area. I particularly love the classes. The class schedule is great for the work day. There are a variety of classes available in the afternoon and evening with great instructors. The locker rooms are always clean and comfortable, stocked with things any woman may need in an emergency. I have since changed jobs so the location is not very convenient for me but I still make a trip into town to attend a class every now and then. It's well worth it.

Great gym! It's on the smaller, older side, but it has everything you could need for a good workout and the price is unbeatable. They even offer corporate discounts for some companies in the vicinity. They have conveniently scheduled classes during lunch time and right after work, which is perfect if you work in the financial district. Where do I start? This gym is the best. Everyone who works there is so friendly and very helpful. I love that I am surrounded by all women because it feels like everyone's routing for each other. I've never felt intimidated or nervous to come to the gym. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy coming to work out. My favorite classes are Zumba and Kickboxing. The Zumba instructor, Karen is just incredibly talented. She pushes us, but never intimidated or makes us feel silly for doing a step wrong. It's a blast. I also really like the kickboxing class. Julie is a powerhouse and sometimes gives specific advice during class. She pushes you to be your best and is very inspiring. All in all, this gym is amazing and I don't ever want to go anywhere else :)

This is the gym I've been looking for ever since I moved to Boston five years ago. At first, I wasn't too keen on it being an only women's gym and went because they had a Groupon for their Zumba class. (Which by the way, their classes are awesome offered almost everyday of the week at convenient hours). The instructors keep the classes upbeat and work you out hard. Now I embrace the women's only atmosphere, because for the first time I can do weight training without having guys looking down on me for not lifting as much they do.

Another perks: good locker sizes (enough for your coat, change of clothes, and purse), flexible payment plans, the bathroom and showers are always properly stocked and cleaned, and great location (off Orange Line's State Street station and a few minutes walk from Green Line's Government Center station and Red Line's Park Street station). I highly recommend it!

I joined WFOB because it is so close to my office in the financial district. They have a lot of fun group classes like Zumba and spinning. The spinning class is really small so you get individual attention which I really like. You never have to wait in line to use a machine no matter what time you go. However, there is a lot of personal training there, so the free-weights and ab area are usually crowded so you can't use all the equipment. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Overall a great women-only gym, and a great alternative to BSC.

Last year, I purchased an online deal for 10 classes to the Women's Fitness of Boston, and I was very happy with it! The main selling point of Women's Fitness for me was it's spinning classes, which they offer a few times a week right after work. They are awesome! A very intimate setting, always with an expert instructor, and lots of fun. I've also tried a Zumba class and a Cardio Step class, both of which were really fun and a good workout. The Step intrusctor in particular was so energetic and really kept the class moving. The open studio with the huge ballet mirror is awesome, and you definitely don't feel judged or out of place in a gym like this. I've seen (but not utilized) their personal trainers and their other gym equipment, and both look worth checking out. I'd highly suggest it for any woman in the downtown area who is looking for a gym of their own!

This is a great facility that is conveniently located in the middle of the city. The staff are always welcoming and make my visit feel personalized. I don't even like to use the word staff, because that makes them sound distant and unfamiliar. This gym did a great job to make me feel like it was my place to exercise and was fully available to me. I took zumba classes there too and loved having a cheap way to blow off steam after a stressful day. The price was more reasonable than anywhere else I have found in the city so far, and when I would forget my punch card the owner would still let me take class and trust that I would remind her the next time to punch it twice. I like that kind of trust between the customer and the owner! The facilities are always clean and the locker room provides plenty of space. The only downfall is that it is located downstairs, so there are no windows looking outside. If you like natural sunlight while you exercise, this gym has a drawback.

I really enjoy this gym because it is small and low-key. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. However, I have attended the spinning classes and the room that they are in is very small. Combine that with a instructor who yells a little too loudly at the clients in order to "motivate" them and it can be a very intense class experience.
Overall though, I recommend this gym to those who might get overalled in the larger, more corporate gyms in the area.

It took me awhile to find a gym that I really liked, but have to say I finally found it with WFOB. I have a pretty busy schedule during the week and have only so much time that I can actually spend at the gym. The staff is extremely helpful and polite and with it being a women's only gym I never feel as if I am being "bothered" while trying to get my workout in. With a wide range of machines, weights, mats, and classes there is certainly something for everyone at WFOB. The membership price is very affordable as well! I highly recommend this gym to anyone who focuses on getting in their workout with limited to no waiting or interuptions.

I LOVE THIS GYM. I joined this past April to take some Zumba classes, and I haven't looked back. Before joining WFOB, I was never into taking fitness classes besides Zumba. I preferred working out alone on the elliptical. However, the classes offered at WFOB are a game-changer. The classes here are fantastic, ranging from yolates to spin to kickboxing. Classes are offered during lunch hours (12-2), and after-work hours (5-7), so it's very convenient for those working in Boston. The instructors are very personable, upbeat, and inspiring. They also offer personal training, which is a nice touch. I haven't had any personal training, but from what I've noticed, the trainers are very flexible and willing to help. I would absolutely recommend this gym to all women.

I signed up at the Women's Fitness of Boston when I worked down the street and wanted somewhere to work out during lunch. This small gym fit exactly what I was looking for. They didn't have that many machines but I never had to wait in line to use any of them, no matter what time I stopped by. I participated in a few of their classes and because it was all women, I wasn't as intimidated. The classes were in the same room as the fitness machines so I wished they had a separate area, but it didn't bother me enough to quit or refuse to join the classes. The showers were nice, with a small dry area for you to change/undress before using the shower itself. The owner was also very friendly.

I love WFOB! The location is great for both professionals and students in the area! They offer fantastic classes, some of my favorites are bodiography and muscle fit.The staff and environment is really great. I love that you get a complimentary locker when you visit. They're a one stop shop-they have everything you need to feel fully accommodated at a gym.

This is the best gym around. It has the most friendly staff and best trainers. They motivate you to achieve success. I highly reccomend this gym to any female looking for a clean, friendly, workout atmosphere. Lectecia is the the best trainer. She will motivate and help you to do things you would not have thought possible.
