The owner Dede is an absolute joy to be around, you can tell she loves what she’s doing and enjoys sharing her joy with everyone she comes across. If you’re looking to try something new or just get out of the house I’d recommend booking a class!

I took my first class Friday and loved it so much I signed up for a month of unlimited classes. It was high energy, fun and different! The studio is cute, clean and organized well so you can follow along with the instructor.

Lolita instructed the class and she was so welcoming and helpful.
I have taken aerial classes before at a different studio & enjoyed it. This studio is more of a workout that incorporates silks - at least the beginners class. The app for this studio is easy to navigate and register for future classes.

I recommend this to anyone who is interested in switching up their workout routine. You don’t need experience on silks to get a good sweat in.

AIR classes and kids events are so much fun! The staff is kind, smart and knowledgeable. My daughters feel safe and supported while having fun and learning about aerial yoga! We will absolutely take more classes! A super great exercise and self care event for adults and kids!

I love AIR so much! I’m finishing up my first month as a member, and no studio in Ann Arbor has made me feel so at home. Dede is incredibly welcoming (and an amazing instructor), and I have loved my classes with her, Jake, and Lalita. The classes are full-body workouts that build strength and stamina, but they are also so playful and joyful — I love the way it feels to move and stretch in the silks. 50 minutes fly by. I find myself looking forward to class all day (not the norm for me — I usually dread workouts). There is great variety between the Foundation and Intermediate classes, Floor Lab, and Flow, so a given week really offers the opportunity for multiple kinds of movement depending on your mood. I feel like this is a hidden gem in Ann Arbor and can’t wait to keep coming back.

Absolutely love the team at AIR aerial fitness. Jake is undoubtedly and shamelessly my fav ☺️ Makes me feel like I’m working out with a friend that makes you level up, playlist keeps you pumped and pushing even when you don’t want to lol. The team as a whole is very patient and allows you to go at your own pace while still pushing you. Dede is wonderful as well, super kind and she’s going to make that body feel like you’ve been doing the work and you’ll be happy for it! Totally worth each session & proud of the progress I’ve made. I’m not a gym girly but from my work at AIR I can still get a good workout, work on key areas with cardio without going to the gym multiple times a week. All in all great team, can’t wait until my next session!

I joined aerial yoga as a complete newbie with zero core strength, and I’m so glad I did! The classes are super engaging, and the trainers strike the perfect balance between pushing you and offering support. I have attended classes with Dede, Lalita and Jake and love all 3 of them!! Even with just once-a-week sessions, I’ve noticed a big improvement in my strength and confidence. The community is also incredibly welcoming and encouraging—such a great environment to grow in. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of starting, no matter your fitness level!

Absolutely amazing place!!! Dede is a truly incredible coach—so caring, responsible, and dedicated. I came in with zero muscle and a lot of hesitation, but Dede welcomed me with so much love and patience. Her encouragement not only helped me stay consistent with my workouts, but also played a huge role in healing my upper and lower back pain. AIR is a great non-traditional workout, but trust me it will make you sweat! I am the kind of person that can only excercize if it's fun, and AIR delivers. They are great at providing accessibility to multiple levels of fitness. I am a competitive pole dancer and so I am comfortable with skills involving inversions, flexibility, body awareness, and am generally pretty strong. I've found this to be a great cross-training. The Foundation classes will make you sweat!! And the Flow classes are good for mindfulness and flexibility. On the other hand, my partner has no fitness background whatsoever and does not workout or stretch regularly. He has also dropped into a few classes and greatly enjoyed them. So this is a space that can accommodate different levels of skill/strength/etc and make everyone feel comfortable, appropriately challenged and want to come back again for more. Our absolute favorite class so far was the Valentine's Day Doubles workshop and we hope they do more partner workshops in the future -- so fun!

Adore this place. It’s a fantastic way to do fitness… I feel like I’m playing around and without even realizing it you’re getting stronger and improving your balance.

This studio is especially thoughtful. They do a lot of little extras that go a long way, like having candlelight yoga and other themed classes throughout the year.

Great option for group fitness class and also a unique experience for hosting a birthday party or other celebration.

My 10yo has been doing aerial for nearly a year and it’s been an incredible experience for her. We’ve seen growth in her build body awareness and self-confidence and she loves learning the moves, performing in the recital and simply moving her body in this way. Dede is an impressive teacher who excels in supporting the kids and making sure they’re learning while also having fun. She’s very flexible and will work to accommodate the developmental and scheduling needs of the children.

Aerial Yoga Heaven in Ann Arbor!

I’ve been a regular at AIR and have been doing classes for almost a year now, and I can confidently say this studio has become one of my favorite places in Ann Arbor. What started as a fun experiment quickly turned into a regular practice that has helped me grow stronger, more balanced, and more connected to myself. I truly look forward to the classes and they’ve helped cheer me up even on the gloomiest Michigan winter days!

Each class is thoughtfully guided, with safety, support, and joy at the forefront. Whether you’re a total beginner or building on existing strength, the team encourages you to go at your own pace and explore what you’re truly capable of. The Air Flow Yoga class is one of my favorites - it’s the perfect mix of strength, stretch, and calm. The flow always leaves me feeling lighter and more aligned.

From the very beginning, the instructors - especially Lalita, Dede, and Lilian - have been more than just trainers. They’ve become a part of my personal journey, and I feel honored to be part of theirs as well.

What makes this studio extra special is the vibrant, caring community. From celebrating milestones at the studio to cheering each other on in every class, it truly feels like a second home. I’m very grateful to have met strong, empowered trainers and women here who continue to inspire me!

Aerial has helped me move better, float higher, and unwind more deeply - and I highly, highly recommend it to anyone curious about trying something new!

I love this studio. I'm older than most attendees and my balance, grip, flexibility, and upper body strength are basically all my weakest points which is what drove me to try this in the first place. The classes are HARD and I often feel like my progress is one step forward, two steps back, but the instructors are amazing. They strike exactly the right balance between gentle and encouraging, and pushing you to try something you aren't sure you're capable of. It's exhilarating when they are right and you manage to do the pose that you thought would be inaccessible :) They are also super warm, welcoming, and kind, always remembering me even when I've had prolonged absences due to injuries and work travel. They are also very professional and do an incredible job of keeping everyone safe. I'm so glad I discovered this studio and am excited to keep growing there :) special shout-out to Lalita, who is the instructor I've interacted with the most. Your playlists are impeccable, your workouts well crafted, your skill amazing, and your support and joy are what keeps me coming back even when I have a frustrating class.

Absolutely loved the Air Flow Yoga class!
The combination of strength, stretch, and calm was perfect, and the hammocks made every pose feel both playful and supported. The instructor (Dede) l walked us through each pose so clearly that it was super easy to follow along, even as a beginner. It was the perfect balance of challenge and relaxation—and such a fun way to reconnect with my body. Highly recommend for anyone looking to move, float, and unwind!

I tried a class with Air in January and I'm now a regular attendee in mid May. Every instructor is excellent and mindful, taking time to ensure everyone has a safe and fun experience. I love that I've been able to go at my own pace as I've built strength and endurance for all the fun poses and moves. You will learn you're capable of more than you'd have imagined, and you don't have to be a professional!

SO MUCH FUN!!!! I threw a private event on a Sunday afternoon for my girlfriends & I. We were so intimidated and nervous...hoping we didn't fall on our faces. The crew made us feel SO comfortable and safe. Organizing the class was a breeze. I will say...if you don't have upper body strength, be prepared to be a bit sore afterwards. I felt like I was back in gym class climbing the rope LOL. It was fun and a different spin on fitness. Highly recommend!

Not sure what I did before this beautiful studio arrived and welcomed me to learn and explore a new style of movement. Since taking Air I have a newfound balance for training and am so grateful that this type of movement is offered in Ann Arbor! This has become one of the most favorite retreats. The instructors are very well-trained and patient. They create classes that inspire and encourage while boasting amazing music! The facility is safe and impeccably clean (even the fabrics). I love the diversity in class offerings, the available times of offerings (for this very active mother) that drives 30 minutes just to get my classes in! And my body... it has never been more flexible! Also have to comment on how personal the owner makes me feel when I am there with her special touches, thoughtfulness, celebration of clients, birthdays and even my kids! She is so special- what a joy you have brough to this community.

BUYER BEWARE!!

Called the day before a class I had already paid for stating I was sick and most likely not going to make it to the class. They said they don’t do refunds but would give a credit. Because I didn’t call two hours before the class to “cancel” because I hadn’t slept all night and the class was at 1, I now don’t get the credit. Don’t sign up and have a life event happen.

I still tried to call once I could, but because their “policy” is two hours ahead of the time class starts, they wouldn’t honor the credit. Even though again I called the day before stating I most likely wasn’t going to make it. So I guess they’ll just take your money and not care. The lady on the phone even encouraged me to stay home because I “sounded sick” and wouldn’t want to get anybody else sick.

I wouldn’t recommend them based on their “policies” and business model

I had the pleasure of taking my first ever aerial class with Iyana. She was an excellent instructor and did a great job making me and my friend feel comfortable and confident. The class is tough even for a foundational course but the atmosphere playlist and encouraging instructor make it a fun time and a great learning experience. Highly recommend the AIR studio and a session with Iyana!

The music was seriously lacking in coherency and theme, it was in fact sad and miserable songs. Aerial yoga is a very uplifting activity so to pair it with such songs completely takes away from it. I liked the relaxing, uplifting songs you played and if you make a playlist with just these the experience will be 5/5 stars.

I checked out Lalita’s flow class and I couldn’t have been happier! She did a great job keeping everyone on track and personally helped me a lot! This was my first class with AIR so I was a bit nervous as I’d never done something like this before but she made me feel quite comfortable and I actually learned a lot! Her class theme was empowerment and I certainly felt that throughout and after the class. Couldn’t recommend the studio and Lalita enough to any guy or girl ready to feel great or get a nice workout in! Hopefully will be scheduling another class soon! :)

I was so impressed and a little intimidated by what this work out may entail. Instructor and owner Dede was such a pro! So loving and caring! Literally spilling her sweat, heart and soul into each class. Making everyone, no matter what level they are, feel so comfortable and “at home”.
I think the world of her because she supports the community and always goes above and beyond. She’s supported countless women and minority owned businesses by not only being a dedicated customer but also by bringing them in for events she hosts. She’s also supported, hosted and donated for multiple causes including Ovarian Cancer Awareness. We need more women, businesses and instructors like Air of Ann Arbor and Dede. Dede (the owner) was so helpful!! Came on a rainy day, since everyone else canceled I ended up getting a private session and she customized it for me. She even took pictures of me in the hammock doing a pose!! The flow class is like a slow paced yoga class. The foundation is a full body workout with hammocks. The core class is a 30 minute core intense with a little bit of hammock work. The Intro to AIR is a mix of all 3 to get a sense of the different classes.

I was very nervous to start out as I am just beginning my fitness journey, but Ashley, my instructor, made me feel very comfortable! I thoroughly enjoyed her class and appreciated the different modifications offered if I wasn't able to do a certain technique. She was very kind and created a safe space for people of all skill levels. The facilities are very nice and I cannot wait to keep gaining strength and stamina at AIR!

I have always wanted to take an air yoga class, but never got up the courage. I had to reach deep and retrieve my inner child, but once I did I had a blast not to mention an amazing workout. I tried a class first, but was too scared to flip. The owner, Dede, approached me with such kindness and confidence that I could do it! So I opted to end class early and come back for a few private lessons first. I can’t believe I did it!
