The reason I use this gym is for its proximity to my house. It is small but generally has the equipment I need; cardio, weights, multiple squat racks, and a studio room. One major thing it’s missing especially for women is glute equipment — kickback machine or hip thrust machine.

The place could use better cleaning and maintenance. Visible dust everywhere, and some machines are missing weight markings that could be easily fixed but are an annoyance during your workout.

They are staffed daily starting at 10am — this means when the morning crowd is using the gym, there is no one to talk to for customer service, to monitor people’s behavior/etiquette, or maintain things like equipment wipes. Since I’m a morning workout person it means I literally never get to interact with staff if I have an issue.

One benefit is access to other AF’s 24/7. This allows me to visit the locations in Berkley and Madison Heights which are larger so have far more equipment and better-maintained.

I have been a part of the Anytime Fitness family for a couple months now. I started Off at this location but transferred to the St Clair Shores location as my primary. I just Want to point out the huge differences of the two. And i would think that if you go to one location that the other would be similar. It’s not. This location has poor air circulation like I can barely breathe in here. They need to open a window or turn the air up. It smells horrible in here! Like very musty and sour! To the point where workouts have to be quick or you will either pass out from the air quality or the smell. The staff always seems so standoffish or nonchalant whereas the staff at the other location seem to be more helpful and welcoming. I do Like the ab machine they have which the other location doesn’t have. But equipment always seems so thrown around, damaged or roughly used.

i just want to recognize the manager here for being so friendly and easy to work with. i enjoyed the convenience of this facility being 24hours and so close to home, it had everything you needed to get a good workout in for a decent price. due to some unfortunate circumstances i had to cancel my membership early and the manager was so kind, understanding and helpful. i definitely recommend this gym!

only rated 4/5 stars because it gets SO hot and humid in that place sometimes 🥵 otherwise everything is perfect!

I cannot in good conscience recommend this gym to anyone. The service here is absolutely abysmal — staff are consistently inattentive, unhelpful, and often outright rude. Equipment is poorly maintained, facilities are filthy, and management clearly has no interest in addressing customer concerns.

What’s worse is the blatant greed this gym operates with. They shamelessly overcharge customers for memberships and offer absolutely nothing in return that justifies the outrageous pricing. Hidden fees, surprise rate hikes, and aggressive sales tactics are the norm here. It’s clear they prioritize profit over providing even the most basic level of quality or respect to their members.

Save yourself the frustration and take your business elsewhere. This gym is a complete embarrassment to the fitness industry

I signed up for a tour, and didn’t get any information about it until I called and asked. Then when I arrived, I was not offered a tour (they told me to just look around) and they even had to look me up when I arrived so they clearly weren’t ready for me. A gym is an investment and I was disappointed that they didn’t seem interested in me. I’ll be working out elsewhere, which is a bummer since this location is very close to my new home.

As a new member, I’ve seen how many of the members do not wipe down equipment after usage. Half of the machines have broken tags, torn or duct taped seats, and clearly have not been staff cleaned in a while. The AC is never ON, which is so unprofessional. What gym doesn’t have the AC on? Instead there are a bunch of fans to circulate the stagnant sweaty air, which means when you walk in there is an odd smell. Locker area is basic and sometimes not very clean. Assisted weight racks are so close together you can smell the person next to you. Bathrooms are not very clean either. It seems like this place needs to have more cleaning staff and repairs bc this is the lowest quality gym I have ever seen. At the very least their old or broken equipment needs replaced and then need more AC. Planet fitness is cleaner than this.

I am here now and it is so hot in here I cannot breathe so have to leave. The AC is NEVER ON here at night. It is an unhealthy level as some of us can't take the heat and humidity. TURN THE AC ON OR UP PLEASE. It is the main reason I don't come often as it smells like BO and is too hot. Also, the men constantly move the bench press benches around and don't put them back so we women are always having to drag them back. Can we please make these guys put equipment back as some of us aren't tall either. I'm on the rowing machine and the battery is dead or dying again. Has been like this for weeks. This gym could be great but between the insane heat and humidity like you are in Florida (which is unhealthy for anyone with lung or breathing issues) and the constant mess of equipment men never put back I get tired of cleaning up after people and dragging very heavy equipment back where it should be. Weight bench shouldn't move. Also they can roll camera and see who is dragging heavy benches around and not putting them back. It's not women friendly because of this. I like the open space and most equipment is decent but even on the lat pull down some men take off the bar that belongs there and it's hard for short women to get it down and fix it. And paying to park here sucks so I come after midnight. Paying to park at a gym should never happen. They need a free lot for their customers. So with some changes the gym could be great. But for the love of Bob! Turn the AC ON! IT SMELLS SO BAD IN HERE AND HARD TO BREATHE. I am at other gyms and their AC is beautiful. If I can't lift because it's so muggy it's not me, I've been lifting for 35 years. Turn the AC ON FOR THE SAKE OF ALL PEOPLE. PLEASE. It is always too hot here in the winter too. Who is deciding the temp? I can't stand the heat. Please turn the air up!!!!!

This gym has most of the equipment I look for, there are 4 squat racks and more barbells than that which is nice. Even when it’s busy you can usually get one. Only complaint is parking, there’s only about a dozen shared free parking spots between the gym and the neighboring business so it’s difficult to find a spot especially during peak hours (around 6-7pm on weekdays and Saturdays). If you can ride a bike or walk there then it’s great!

I signed up for this gym for the price and because my gym on campus has hours that just don’t accommodate my schedule. So when I saw that they were 24 hours,I was really excited. I absolutely love it here. The people are very friendly,i never feel self conscious and everyone is just in there focusing on their goals. AJ severely lacks customer service skills. Honestly seems as if they’re running a scam/racket. I asked to cancel my membership and she attempted to up-sale me into keeping the membership through an email. Which is terrible because her scammy ways are on a paper trail now. AJ has a lack of experience when it comes to customer service, and it shows. The gym is typically out of sanitation wipes and hand cleaner in all but one dispenser, and the bathrooms are usually not clean, while she sits on her phone in her office or is chiding another gym member for demonstrating technique to a new member, then threatening to “ban,” the customers. Also charged me for another month of membership after I had provided the required documentation and refuse to resolve the situation, which I had to elevate to corporate. This is easily the worst Anytime branch I have ever used.

Parking situation stinks. You have to pay for parking more times than not. Also, this gym kept charging for months after I moved away and notified them via e-mail. I then sent a signed letter expressing my desire to discontinue my membership which, “got lost in the mail”. The gym will not refund me any money for a service i didn’t use for over 6 months. :/ I can easily say this is my last dealings with Anytime Fitness.

Had the opportunity to check out this amazing location and was blown away. From the entrance to the restrooms, one of the cleanest and organized Anytime's I've ever visited. Equipment galore, punching bags, multiple racks, spacious turf and plenty of only bars. Staff was attentive with greetings and farewells to members. If I didn't live in Ypsilanti, this would be my home gym. Great jobs guys! Btw, the scentair really helps the club standout!

Amazing Anytime Fitness. Equipment is all brand new, clean, and in pristine condition. They have several cardio machines, weightlifting machines, a huge free-weight area, several rowers, and a large empty space for stretching when they aren't doing classes.

In addition to all the great equipment, they have amazing changing rooms that also have nice showers. There's even fully accessible showers for people with mobility concerns. As I just moved into a house that won't have a usable shower for 2 weeks, this is an awesome incentive to come in for early morning workouts.

They also accept Healthways, which is the Blue Cross Blue Shield gym discount program that Snap Fitness Ferndale discontinued.

There are also a limited amount of provided parking spots (~8 spots) for the lucky during non-peak downtown Ferndale hours for any customers of GNC, Detroit Bubble Tea, Inyo Sushi, or Anytime Fitness.

I think my only comment is that I hope they get some heavy duty fans to provide a cross-breeze on the cardio machines.
