The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I came in expecting them just to quickly sign me up but they took their time to show me around, taught how some of the equipment worked since I haven’t been here before and then to top it off offered me a session and a full body scan with a personal coach upon signing up! I tried to cancel my membership. Met with the owner, turned in my fob, the owner told me I won’t be charged. I received 4 more charges after that and when confronted they told me that it’s new ownership that didn’t cancel my membership and kept charging me.

Worst Part- they basically told me to go play with myself when I confronted the new owners after 4 months of new charges to my account “Nothing we can do”. So now I’m down hundereds of dollars to this owner who claims they bought a dying business, beacuse their solution was to siphon money out of previous owners via contract amendments, and google reviews shows they have been doing this to lots of other young, and older people, that are financially incapable of bringing this to court.

Unbelievable caliber of human we’re working with here. Two thumbs down.

EDIT 03-13-2025: New ownership is cancelling partnership with insurance programs. Understood. I'm sure they don't get every penny from those programs (which has increased over time). But the "limited time" offer was twice what the program charges today and no definite plans were provided on why the current rates weren't sustainable, why even matching the rate wasn't viable (where they'd get 100%), other than "we're planning some renovations in 2026" and "this was bought as a dying business". I'm more than empathetic to business owners but I feel this change wasn't well informed, short notice, and the manager I spoke to didn't demonstrate any capacity to understand the customer perspective, instead opting to deflect blame onto the previous owner, myself (for just using an insurance benefit), or current owners. I've been a member of this location for over two years and Jim did a great job sustaining the location.

It's rare a gym gets better and cleaner over time but this Anytime Fitness is an exception. Jim and team provide plenty of equipment to work out and clean down the machines afterwards. In the winter there are boot trays, tissues, and hand sanitizer. Beyond that, any equipment that does break is repaired promptly. I don't think I've ever seen anything broken for longer than a week. Even the benches are repaired when they get a tear.

Your membership will go MILES here, much further than your sneakers will last that's for sure.

I met up with the owner in October last year to cancel my membership. He said it was OK to cancel and that I didn't have to do anything else. I left the fob with him. In December, I realized I was charged 3 more times after that. Upon calling and complaining, they told me that my membership was not canceled and that the place changed ownership since. The new owner only reimbursed me for two of those charges saying they have a policy of 30-day cancelations. That policy was not in place when I talked to the old owner. It is not ok to cheat people out of their money this way. They lost me as a customer for life, and I told all my friends to stay away from the place as it is run by people who will nickel and dime you any way possible.

I travel a lot for work and have visited several Anytime Fitnesses across the country.

This Lake Orion location is by far the BEST!

I typically don’t leave reviews but I was so impressed with the positive atmosphere and friendly staff.

The facility is SO clean, well-maintained, and the variety of equipment caters to all fitness levels!

Definitely sets my benchmark for the rest of the Anytime Fitnesses I go to!

I’ve been an anytime member for around three years, and out of all the locations i’ve tried, this has blown everything out of the water. By far the cleanest gym I have ever been to, and the best managed. All machines work properly and are well taken care of. There is an abundance of towels to wipe down benches and seats, as well as an abundance of spray bottles to go along with the towels. The owner, Jim, is passionate about maintaining a great gym, and is extremely respected by gym goers. I especially recommend this gym to the younger generation of people, as it has treated me very well in my time going here.

Wow, what a great experience!!
I originally joined Anytime Fitness at a different location, but wanted to check out the Lake Orion location due to travel for work. I hadn’t yet met the 30 day threshold to enter other locations, but after talking with Jim (the owner), he graciously granted me access! I can tell Jim wants nothing but the best for the gym and its members, and he was extremely accommodating with me throughout.

The best gym in the region. I came from Brazil to live in Michigan and needed to find a place for my daily training. Upon arriving at the Lake Orion unit, I was very well received by Jim, the unit manager, and I'm already going to reach 6 months using the gym. Jim, in addition to advices for training, helps us with nutrition and personal equipment tips to increase training performance.

I just stopped by at this gym for the first time this morning. As soon I walked in, I noticed how clean it was. Their equipment it's amazing, and the manager in the office is very nice she makes me feel very welcome because, unfortunately, this is not my home gym. I'm considering stopping by more often on my way home from work. If you are in search of a gym, I recommend this place 💯 %. 💪💪💪💪

I joined this gym a little over a year ago and it has been one of the best gyms I have ever been apart of. Sign up was insanely easy, they have a great selection of machines and weights, I have never dealt with a machine being broken when I wanted to use it and the Owner, Jim, is easily the best gym owner I have had the pleasure of getting to know / work with. Jim is there basically everyday and he helps clean, pick up the floor, make sure things are in working order and in my opinion, most importantly - cares about his members. He works hard to remember almost every member’s name, will make an effort to say hi to you when you walk in the door and also keeps the 24 hour gym environment safe so you never feel weird when working out. That same kindness and caring is carried over by his trainers that work there as well. Would definitely recommend this gym to anyone in the Lake Orion area.

Anytime Fitness in Lake Orion is a fantastic gym. I’ve been a member now for 1yr and 3months. My wife became a member first and that encouraged me to try it. I have been a member here since Feb 2022. I LOVE this place. The facility is very clean and the machines are well maintained. Jim, the owner is very friendly and will help you any way he can. This is such a great environment that I find it's not a struggle for me to get through the doors which is often the biggest hurdle for some. Scheduled a tour for this location on the website so that I could start attending and no staff was there to show me around and walk me through the membership process.

Jim kept his word about the concession, got a tour of the facility and it looks nice and clean, has all the weightlifting and cardio equipment I was looking for, and has private showers! Closer to home for me than my previous gym, I'm now a member at this facility.

Everything was going good. The manager/ owner was all friendly and helpful until I called to cancel the membership. He suddenly changed his attitude after knowing that I'm calling to cancel my membership. I gave him the reason why I wanted to cancel my membership and he said "WHATEVER". After canceling the membership he just hung up the phone. That was rude and unprofessional.

I have access to a variety of gyms with my Blue Cross Blue Shield Healthways membership, and this is one of my favorite gyms nearby. It is the cleanest Anytime Fitness facility I have ever used. Someone keeps this place very clean and well-organized. All the weights are always put away where they belong, and the space is utilized well for a smaller facility with a good selection of machines, free weights, cardio, and miscellaneous extra gizmos. They have a Jacob's Ladder and a rope trainer, too. It's a quiet place: people are respectful of their fellow members and help to keep the place picked up.

Things were decent until I call to cancel my membership. I was met with question after question after question about why where I was going why can't I train there who am I going to be training with excetera excetera. I haven't been to the gym in months due to my schedule and location but I continue to pay until my contract was up. Upon making sure the contract was up and making sure it was being cancelled this month Jim hung up right in my face after saying you're all set. This was very rude.

It gives you all the amenities that a gym that easily costs over $100.00 a month with the customer service to go along side it! This location is under new management and they’re extremely customer driven and dedicated to your satisfaction. The gym is always clean and organized. There’s nothing worse than a dirty gym that has equipment scattered all over the place! The machines, classes and the technology that the gym has is top-of-the-line and very interactive. My girlfriend and I went in there inquiring about a membership, the women who helped us wasn’t very friendly and seemed as if she was trying to talk us out of a membership instead of into one. I think we left after talking with her for 5 minutes because of how unwelcomed we felt. Needless to say we did not join and now both go to planet fitness. There are 3 gyms within a 5 mile radius of each other, you’d think they’d want the business but nope. We left and went 5 minutes down the road!

They've got everything I need to get a successful session in for the day. Plenty of free weights and plenty of cardio equipment. They have two racks one regular squat/bench rack and then a Smith machine. There is a plate weighted decline leg press which is pretty much essential to any good leg day and a good amount of plates. Also have a studio that's separated from the gym that you can go into for privacy, it also has an entire wall as the mirror so you can see yourself. All together has all the basics and some more to make for a good lifting session.

I am a college student who was looking for a short membership over the summer at a nice gym, so i signed up for what they told me was a three month membership. I come to find months later they had me sign a SIX month contract. I was confused when I saw a charge in my bank statements from this month from the gym, so i called to ask why i am still getting charged because i signed up for a three month membership and thats when i was told my contract was apparently six months. I was also told that i would be able to put my account on hold so overtime i came home i would be able to resume it without putting down any money and it turns out that apparently that isn't an option. As a young adult who is on a major budget i feel scammed and completely ripped off from this place. I am disappointed that they would do this to their clients, and that my money has been being wasted on a membership that i can't even use considering that i am 2 hours away at school. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
