After seeing how the owner directly responds to their own customers, I can confidently say this is absolutely somewhere to avoid at all costs. As you can see in previous reviews, this company does not practice accountability. The owner is completely willing to pull personal information from contracts to harass, and will continue to do so on all social media’s if they feel scorned. AI apologies, and MANY matching stories from others in the community. Do not trust this place. Go elsewhere.

Absolutely love this gym! Brian is a such a sweetheart and all the people that work there are wonderful. If you actually read the contracts and fully understand what your getting into its well worth it. Id rather go here than a planet fitness were people do judge you and people are super rude. I love that I can go in 24/7 workout and carry on through my day. Pay no mind to comments regarding "disability". This place is very accommodating as I have severe arthritis in my joints at a young age(not even 30 yet). Very quiet small town gym vibes. If I could I would rate this gym a +10!

The gym is always clean, well-maintained, and has everything I need for a great workout, from free weights and machines to a solid selection of cardio equipment. I really appreciate how convenient it is to be open 24/7, it makes it so easy to fit workouts into my schedule. I’d like to start this review by saying, this is the absolute best gym I’ve ever had the pleasure of going to. The first thing I’d have to mention is the environment. Absolutely judge free, cleanly, and welcoming. The gym is always very clean, making for a safe environment from bacteria and nastiness. I also feel I have to add that the staff are extremely friendly and kind. Obtaining a membership was a very easy and welcoming process. There is nothing but encouragement and kind words. Overall I am very pleased and love this gym. 5 out of 5 stars for this place.

I have been a member of this Franchise (specifically Ortonville) since they opened their doors. I am a retired Military Veteran, and would spend my leave days back home within these walls. I have even frequented the Anytime Fitness of Genesee. These places have always been like a second home to me. I have never had an issue with any of my accounts, my safety, nor with the staff or other members. I love the fact that it is community based and they provide great efforts to make every visit enjoyable. Like any public service, there are a few things that could be done differently. That is why I appreciate their continuous efforts to improve and grow. I would recommend this facility 10/10 times to everyone looking for a fresh start.

I went, it was open, they have two doors, members and guest, and I was standing there because the guest door was closed. Someone that works there saw me. She was cleaning, and she didn’t help me, didn’t open the door, didn’t say hi. Such a nice place…..

The very short male employee (I think his name is Pete) is creepy. He will constantly stare at me as I workout. Only writing this review now because I’ve had enough.

Tried to cancel his month to month membership as a teen he still has no grasp or concept of payments or money. So after we attempted to cancel membership at anytime fitness in Ortonville, Brian stated I will freeze it but then he started charging him again in May after I spoke with Brian and told him my grandson has so much going on he can't keep this membership so please just cancel it. Well Brian didn't keep his word, and continued to send bills and late fees and over charge fees even though we cancelled the membership. Do not use this place no one is ever there to speak to if there is a problem or a concern. We attempted to speak with him in person but no one was ever there after 1pm any time we tried to cancel again in person. Brian says I've upgraded my equipment " I have to get my money back somehow " yes by charging people who try to cancel their memberships. Buyer Beware choose any other place than Anytime fitness in Ortonville. Based on other reviews it looks like Brian calls people Liars, he's degrading, rude disrespectful and an all around " no integrity" type. Read all the other reviews not just mine to see there is a pattern of Skechy- Ness, happening.

Absolutely horrible! Had a membership for a year, called to make sure it didn’t auto renew. Was told I was all set, little did I know my card would still be charged a month later. Owner never answers the phone and doesn’t do what you ask. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! Also when I first got my membership it was $25 every other week for a coaching membership. I never wanted a coaching membership, when I asked to change it he said he did, but never actually did it. Very unprofessional!

They host gym class here where a bunch of high schoolers max out deadlifting and are extremely loud and take up half the gym. There is also no drinking water available… yes a gym doesn’t have a working drinking fountain.

Moved out of the area and contacted the club and ABC financial to cancel. They continue to bill me $70 a month.
I have tried many times to get them to stop. Owner told me it was ABC. Also said he has been doing this for 15 years and isn't worried about a lawsuit. 15 years of ripping people off!

5+ years with NO WATER.. it baffles me that a gym doesn’t have an available drinking fountain. Other than that they gym is decent, all solid equipment but only one free rack which is usually busy. There’s a good weight scale that is high grade and accurate, but also your typical over priced vending machine. If it had drinking water I would rate this gym a 3.5

Talked to Brian about 6 week challenge, he referred me to this other program that's a group for surgery(my case)/illness recoverees. It's a "No Contract, No Obligation, Cancel anytime membership," his exact words at the sales pitch. First day I show up to an overcrowded facility, for the amount of equipment, with most standing around gabbing. Great if you're looking to socialize, but not my objective. I call/text/email Brian(owner/manager) that day to stop my No obligation deal and it took 5 days for him to return my call. He left a message saying I had to be there in person to stop it and gave me the hours he's there. In the next week showed up there 3 times and no Brian. The last time Brian's son is there with no authority to do anything. I leave my door key with the son and a written message of stopping and why. Several days later Brian returns my call saying I have a 2 month obligation, cuts the call short, after calling me a liar among other things, says he'll call back, wrong. I again go to club at specified time and Brian left early, again. He told credit card company I signed a contract so they won't stop payments. He will NOT even give me a copy of the so-called contract.. Only thing I signed is credit card approval, he's calling that a contract. BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS DEALING WITH THIS CLUB, VERY SHADY MANAGEMENT!!!

I would give them negative stars if I could. I have never been talked to or treated so terribly by any owner/manager in my life. I signed up for a challenge type of thing and found out a week later that I am pregnant. I went in and talked to Brian and explained my situation where he said that his scale machine wouldn't even allow me to participate. He told me that he would put my membership on hold until I decide to come back. I left for vacation the following week and had a $600 charge on my account as well as several charges of $9. The $600 was refunded after calling and sending them messages. Brian told me everything was cancelled and not to worry. Here we are a month later and I have been charged several times for $9. When I called, Brian was nothing but rude and told me I was lucky that he was even helping me. He went on to call me a millennial for wanting my money back because of being pregnant and unable to participate.

I'd give negative stars if I could. My husband and I have simply been trying to get them to change our banking info. For TWO MONTHS we've asked them to call us back. All we get is, "The owner is on vacation"..... whelp, membership canceled and moving on! This place is not run like a proper business, let alone a gym. There's ZERO reason not to call someone back, so they can give you a more convenient payment. Like really?!?! This place will never get my hard earned money again and I have nothing good to say about them.

I had some pretty bad experiences at this place. The gym doesn't have too much equipment compared to other AF gyms. Also, the water is absolutely terrible. My biggest problem is the owner's attitude with his customers. I had an issue with my account being overcharged and the owner refused to give me my money back because "he'd have to be taxed on it". He was very aggressive as soon as I called. I had to call ABC Financial and showed them proof of the mistake. The problem was finally solved. I would reccomend going to any other AF gym than this one. I personally drive out of my way to avoid it.
