You’ve lost so many of your loyal members. I’m deeply disappointed in the direction Anytime Fitness has taken. I gave my heart to this gym for years—managing it, caring for the space, and supporting the members. Sadly, the new management has let us all down.

So many of us have now left and joined LA Fitness on Van Dyke. It’s more affordable, the management is kind, and they genuinely care about their members. Most importantly, they honor military service and offer proper discounts.

Anytime Fitness in Romeo raised prices across the board—including for veterans, first responders, and those who have served our country. That decision alone speaks volumes. I hope you reconsider your priorities and start showing appreciation for the people who helped build your community in the first place.

I have been a member of this gym for over 11 years. It went under a beautiful renovation a year or two ago before being sold to new owners that have been actively running it into the ground.
The fixtures have been changed in the bathrooms but they couldn’t be bothered to paint the walls where the old paper towel dispenser and soap pumps used to be. There are days where there isn’t soap in any of the bathrooms. One of the shower heads have gone completely missing. In the fall of 2024 there was a pile of mysterious coarse body hair where someone had clearly been grooming themselves left on the bathroom floor that remained for over a week as a clear sign that nobody cleans on a regular and possibly even weekly basis.
The floors and equipment are always dirty.
The only stairmaster has been out of order for well over a month.
On top of the sharp decline in care and keeping of this gym location the owners have the audacity to jack up the rates. At least attempt to maintain this franchise if you want to justify the price increase.

Update- without notice my rate jumped up to $48 a month. A warning to those who have been at $30 a month for over a decade, they split the transaction into twice monthly withdrawals at $24 so your credit card doesn’t alert you of the higher than expected monthly transaction. The manager stated that an email was sent out to notify me of this change, however I’m aware of at least one other person who also did not receive an email regarding the change. Between the disrepair of the gym and now the increased rate I finally pulled the trigger and cancelled my membership.

As far as the cleaning of this gym, there is a young man that comes in most nights and cleans now. I have watched him and am impressed at his attention to details. It's crazy how much salt gets dragged into the gym every night. The stairmaster that's been broken for over a month should have a new sign with the date it will be repaired instead of next week. It definitely bothers me some of the equipment that needed minor repairs will need major part replacement by the time it gets fixed. I also found out some people are going to a new gym, paying more because of better equipment. It's also nice you installed hand dryer in bathroom when the wall plug doesn't even work. These are simple fast repairs. Whoever the owner is, I hope you see this before more things go wrong. Some of us like this gym.

My spouse and I have been members here since January 2023. The staff is always cleaning when they're not consulting with possible new members. The equipment is spaced out adequately and there is a good selection. Thank-you Anytime Fitness.

I wish there was a gym in Romeo that didn’t lock customers into a 12 month agreement. I like to pay monthly without the contract because I travel a lot and I might not be here for months at a time. I would join without the 12 month contract and I’m sure many others would as well. What you’re gaining by locking folks in, you’re loosing by many more folks that don’t want to be locked in.

I rescind my former review. I’ve never had a business owner read a review and ask for input on how to improve complaints to the extent that Jenni and Andy did. I had multiple conversations with Jenni on barbell diameters, bumper plates, gnurling sizes, standard platforms that are preferred, etc and she applied them to their upgrades that were recently completed. This is still a corporate Anytime, however, they did a wonderful job making the most of their space and made it so that there’s a little bit for everyone’s interests. I most appreciate the new layout of equipment, as it provides more safety between racks and barbells, making me feel like myself and others can perform Olympic and powerlifting without fear of someone getting too close. They also doubled the number of barbells and rack available. I’m about to have my own home gym in a new house, but will keep my membership here just to come back here and there. If you haven’t been since before the remodel, you MUST come check it out.

Love this gym. Friendly, has new and modern equipment. Staff and Trainers are top notch. Open 24/7. Prices not bad, and their even starting up 6 week crosstraining camps. Great place to make new friends, male and female without the egos getting in the way. Richmond MI, or New Baltimore is both places we visit & enjoy.

Health is their business, and that’s what they do best. They know that mental well-being coincidences with physical health. I’m so grateful for this gym and the freedom to go there to workout whenever I want. This is also one of the cleanest gyms I’ve been to. Every time I’m there one of the employees are cleaning. I’m blessed to have a little family here that I see every morning. I think it’s so awesome that this gym helps work together to support our little community too with all the fundraisers and drives. Nice gym, very clean and well maintained.
No locker rooms but private shower rooms that are great, I really like being able to shower and change clothes without having to pack and unpack my gym bag to make room for other people.
Definitely more of functional fitness gym, if you're a hardcore power/Olympic lifter I would check out the powerhouse at 25 mile and Van Dyke.

It works but if there is any other gym closer I would suggest them. Small space and for some reason the personal trainers seem to think they can take 2-3 machines for a “circuit”. Just be aware, only reason I come is it’s 24 hour.

Eh, hole in that wall gym for 3-4x the price. The staff is cool but the egotistical owner was a douche. (He has a pic of himself flexing on the window 😂).. Also, you can get the exact products they sell there for 25%+ less anywhere else, and they push them on you hard..go somewhere else

This place is terrible... the owner is an ass hat and please please pleaseeee don't buy the supplements there.. you can get the exact same products from anywhere to $10-$25 less at any supplement store... it's a planet fitness rate gym for 3x-4x the cost. . How there are people dumb enough to go to this place is beyond me. . I was also unfortunate enough to meet the owner. He was a typical overmuscular douche that would talk in a condescending manner to everyone just because he had a (rather pathetic) photo of himself on the front of the building flexing...save yourself some time and money and stay away!!!

If I could rate this place no stars I would. Gym is fine but the membership contract is asinine. Other anytime fitness facilities DON'T accept their membership (like they claim), the cost is high, you can't bring a guest which other gyms allow at LOWER price points. My wife was screwed over by these people. We got to where we didn't have time or money for a membership but they didn't even allow for an early cancellation fee. The ONLY way out of the contract is if you move AT LEAST 25 miles away or more. AND THEN, you STILL have to give 30 days notice (meaning an extra month paid for) PLUS a $50 cancellation fee so cancelling, AFTER we bought a house far enough away, STILL cost $90. They have zero concern for their members, only keeping the money coming in.

Will try to trick you into things that are not on the contact when you reach the end of your contract. Avoid this gym, and do not let them cross out anything on the contracts when you go to sign up. They are trying to get an annual gym fee from you twice in one contract period.

I came on the weekend. It was a majority younger crowd. Gym had nice size and good hot showers. The crowd isn't (so far as we noticed) very mixed. Probably due to its somewhat rural location.

There are too many personal trainers. They take up all of the equipment for circuit training and don't clean it when they are done. Too expensive for a gym that doesn't even offer a locker room.
