The best gym in Saginaw as far was the amount of equipment and the amount of space. Definitely the place to go if you want serious workouts. Large selection of drinks and protein bars also. Only con is that it's not 24 hours and they close early on weekends.

I’ve been a member here for almost a year. I love it here. I’ve never been treated badly in any way from any of the employees including the owner. In fact one employee that is almost always working when I’m there is probably the most helpful and nicest guy I’ve ever met in the fitness world. The members here are great. I’ve never had another member be rude or stare at me any kind of way and I’ve had some member go out of their way to help if they see me doing something wrong. I have had memberships are other gyms in the area and have always felt like I was being judged by the other members or I wasn’t part of their group and I always have felt like I was just a membership walking through the door to the employees of the other gyms. When joining my biggest concern was I thought it was going to be like $100 a month. A full membership here is cheaper than almost every other gym in the area. If you’re looking to start working out, or just looking for a better gym, I highly recommend coops.

The best equipment. Amazing smoothie bar, try the go-to. Professional atmosphere, I don't get judged for bringing a gallon of water and wearing a tank top. I'm just saying. Also, having a boxing area was worth signing up alone to me personally.

I haven't personally used the services of this business, but I stopped in to see the owner who I knew through a mutual connection as our kids were on the same football team. I saw the place appeared clean and cared for. As well, the owner was very friendly and acommodating, including I know when my son was still in football, he allowed the members of the team to use his gym free of charge. Seems like a worth while place to associate with. 😊

A good gym with a wide variety of equipment. I've taken one star away as I went there yesterday and there was this strange bald man, about 5'3 in height filming people. Put me off my workout.

However, it is generally a great gym that I would definitely recommend.

Name should be changes to “OOPS”, I joined back when Covid began, gym is clean and awesome equipment. As time surpassed I realized the issue isn’t the gym itself. It’s the owner, as you will see in many reviews relating to my statement. I have never heard of another owner of an establishment being involved in multiple physical and verbal confrontations resulting in local police arriving WITH HIS OWN MEMBERS. This speaks volumes, as I was also in a small confrontation with the owner. My advice, don’t support business owners that are not mentally well, toxic environment due to ownership. Oops.

I absolutely love this gym. I have traveled around the country, and still have never seen a gym with this much unique equipment. Coop’s truly has everything and MORE.
I also love the culture at the gym, despite the intimidating look that many there may display. I have been given sage advice in weightlifting and bodybuilding from members in that gym. They even have a recovery room for an Amazing Deal that has cold plunge, sauna, and much more. Lastly, you can always get a delicious smoothie for a fair price on your way out the door.

Love this place. 5/5. 10/10. Since working out here I can't even fit into my car, I've had to buy a truck bc I kept getting stuck in my little crossover.
I get stuck in doorways. My body fat percentage has gone into the negatives. I can no longer scratch my own back. I've become more muscle than human. Great atmosphere, and an owner who clearly cares, I'd recommend this gym to friends, family and anyone.

Edit for 2023: I don't know what's going on anymore but it makes me sad

I definitely didn't think that simply asking why I can't keep my online personal training cards at this gym was going to result in my last day working out at Coop's Iron Works.

To give a little background, I had asked staff at the gym last week if I could place my business cards at the front desk and was told that I could. I was simply trying to promote my business at this local fitness facility in Saginaw and meanwhile am actively recommending my clients to workout at that facility that I have supported since the day that Coops opened their doors. I asked the owner today if I could have the cards back as I had heard from some other members that he was "talking down about me and my online personal training business". He raised his voice at me throughout this entire conversation when I simply asked why I couldn't keep my cards there along with the other 30+ business cards posted at the front desk. I asked if I could sign the contract needed to place my cards at the front desk, and he said I couldn't sign that contract because I wasn't giving him any business through my online training. After the owner was being continually condescending about how I do not know how to run a business and if he wasn't getting any money from my business, he wasn't going to support it, I simply asked for my business cards back and that was that. Simple. As. That.

However, the owner was not satisfied with this because I truly believe he wanted more retaliation and he wasn't getting it from me. I had gotten my cards back and resumed my workout and he proceeded to come back to the back room of his gym actively searching around and approached me while I was finishing my workout to reiterate that I am welcome to leave the gym because I do not understand the rules of business. I simply responded that I am fine with his answer to not place my business cards out there and that was that. He continued yelling at Eric (my fiance) and I, saying the same things and getting in my fiances' face, as many members of this gym have witnessed over and over countless times when he has kicked out other members of the gym since the day he opened his facility. He was trying to cause conflict that didn't even exist anymore. Persistently being over the top and being obnoxious for something that was already settled and wasn't even a problem anymore.

I know we were not the first people to get kicked out of his gym, and I'm sure we will not be the last, however, I'm kicking myself in the foot for continually supporting this man and his business for the last 5 years since he opened.

After sitting and really thinking about it, this really was a blessing in disguise. There's not many things that he was right about tonight, but he is right that I can find a gym where I am happier, can be more successful as a powerlifter, feel more supported as a powerlifter, and workout with bars that aren't bent.

Stay tuned for what's to come with our future business, because I can tell you we don't know everything about business, but we learned a lot about what NOT to do in business tonight.

If you skipped everything above, you can just read this paragraph. Rob, the owner, overreacted due to a simple question -- simply because he felt his business was threatened by a woman that is 20 years younger than him, more successful than him, and physically and emotionally stronger than he will ever be.

Terrible management!! Kicks people out for petty reasons. The owner is a hot head. He makes fakes account to comment reviews for his business to promote himself. All he care about is money and his image. I’ve been here for some time with my fiancé. During the time He was completely disrespectful to the people that support him. Between fat shaming and disrespecting pass employers to harassing people, publicly disrespecting his ex wife with slurs in front members… then to kicking them out is ridiculous. The facility is nice but it would be better with better management skills. No customer service nor respect to the fitness community. He had the potential to do great for the community but the things he does don’t uplift to the Saginaw community. He need Jesus

I will probably change this to 5 stars once I really get to experience everything at the gym. I just got my membership and haven’t started using it. Rob the owner is helpful and very motivated in providing variety for his members. I am pretty sure the gym has pretty much anything that someone could want, but I need to go a few weeks and test that out to know for sure. The only negative thing I could possibly say for sure is Rob’s trainer’s cards were out of stock the day I went and started my membership. It wasn’t a big deal for me though because I have a friend who is going to train me anyway.

The best thing about traveling across America is finding great places to work out while in little towns. I found this spot while looking through Google and Yelp. The website is professional and the equipment in the pictures caught my eye (updated/clean) Once I arrived, I was greeted by the owner and paid a 15-dollar day pass. He gave me the nickel tour of the facility which was huge. They have every piece of equipment for any workout one could imagine. They also have a shake counter for the per or post-workout nutrients/proteins. Awesome place. I ended up going back the next day.

Whenever I'm in town, this is my go-to gym.

Horrible ownership cussed and screamed at my friend over a big misunderstanding. As you can see from the owners comment on this review he is very rude. Like I said it was a misunderstanding. And Mr Coop my friend did not intentionally try and sneak into your gym. I dare you take a look at your cameras and watch him wait for 5 mins for someone to come to your front desk. Your accusations are false and this could’ve all been avoided if you weren’t such a hot head and actually talked to him to figure out the situation.

Love this gym! Has a great variety of equipment and is really well laid out! The equipment is very durable, and always felt secure using it! The owner was always expanding and taking a lot of pride in the place when I worked out there. Relocated for work downstate and no longer belong due to distance. Price is good too considering the quality of the equipment. Definitely the best option if you’re serious about your progress and live in the area.

Coops has good equipment, cool lights, the looks, and even a smoothie bar. My main concerns lie within the cleanliness of the gym and customer service. I see there are reviews of the gym being super clean, I just don’t find that true. I won’t go into much detail but the workers should focus on cleaning what people don’t see, such as tops of machines. Some (not all) staff come off as unfriendly to me, it’s not much but it doesn’t make me feel well when workers seem like they don’t want to be there and don’t interact with customers when they talk to them, (good customer service). Overall a good gym, there is constant changes to layouts and equipment.
