Best workout in the Detroit metro area! It has become my favorite workout, I’m obsessed. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming, and the whole environment is incredibly supportive. Judy and her team of instructors have built a special community. Class sizes are small so the teachers are able to give everyone the individual attention they need. And teachers always cue you with modifications or advancements, so it is genuinely a wonderful workout for everybody, no matter where you are in your fitness journey!

I developed ab separation (diastasis) from 2 pregnancies and related c-sections. I did some PT, reformer pilates and yoga to strengthen my core, but my core never recovered and I suffered from intermittent lower back pain. Finally, I decided to try CoreLP this summer. I was not in great shape by any means when I started at CoreLP but the instructors worked with me, provided modifications, and now I am so much stronger and have even lost weight in just a few months. CoreLP is nothing like any other workout, and although it is pretty challenging, it is transformational! You will definitely get stronger with better posture and a better overall physique. One month into attending classes at CoreLP, I decided to supplement with private lessons with Judy once a week to learn better form and strengthen my core. I can't say enough good things about Judy's 1 on 1 training. She works you, pays attention to detail, and is most importantly, honest. Within a few weeks of private training, she noticed that my diastasis wasn't responding as fast as it should and that I may have a hernia that was preventing closure. Lo and behold, she was right as this was then confirmed clinically. She helped me get to the root of the problem, something that professionals had earlier missed. This is truly a testament to her paying attention to detail and keeping her clients' goals in mind. I continue to attend CoreLP and I feel much better about undergoing surgery because I am much stronger now than I was a few months ago. I highly highly recommend CoreLP to anyone and everyone. You get your money's worth.

I love Core (LP). I’ve been going here for about 2 years now and I love that they give me a variety of work outs, show demonstrations to have the correct moves, and fix form when needed. There is no cap on difficulty and there are always ways to make modifications for those who are working on building muscle or recovering from injury. I have gotten more toned, gained muscle, and lost weight going to Core (LP) consistently. I can’t recommend them enough!

I have been going to Core LP for a year now and have loved my experience at this studio. Each class is so carefully curated for the participants and the instructors are great with their cues and advice. I especially have had a wonderful experience going to classes for the last 36 weeks of my pregnancy. Each week has been adjusted for me based on where I was at in the pregnancy and how I was feeling. I never felt like I was not getting anything out of the class simply because I am pregnant; the modifications remained tough and I have taken on the pregnancy feeling strong and like I will have great stamina ahead for what’s next. I look forward to returning in a couple months postpartum and getting back on the mega with my Core fam.

Thank you for your response. I want to clarify why I felt disappointed and requested cancellation/refund:

When I joined, the agreement was for Lagree classes taught by Lagree-certified trainers on Lagree machines. After the rebrand, the studio removed the Lagree name, changed the signage, and hired many non-certified lagree trainers as I already checked with Lagree fitness who has all the names. That is a major change to the service I signed up and paid for.

Regarding the refund: when clients pay upfront, the fair approach is to pro-rate equally across all months, not charge the higher $229 monthly rate for the months used and then refund the remainder at the lower rate. That is not a fair or transparent calculation, and it leaves the client at a loss for a change that was not their choice, but the studio’s. And since the main reason for cancellation was the changes made by the studio it is my right to ask for the full refund and cancellation as this was not what I originally paid for.

I also want to note that the original Lagree machines remain at the old studio location. If the studio intended to honor the Lagree program, keeping certified Lagree trainers there would have been appropriate. Instead, Lagree was removed entirely, despite this being the service I and others had committed to.

My review is not about whether the studio offers a workout—it’s about whether it continues to offer Lagree with certified Lagree trainers, which was the basis of my membership. Since that was changed, I believe my request for cancellation and a fair refund is fully reasonable

On top of all these, it is worth mentioning that not only did they refuse to respond to my email regarding requesting a full fair refund for the months I haven’t used it, but they blocked me from every social media platform. This is the level of unprofessionalism . So, unfortunately, I left such a bad review for a place I used to like at some point. But these are the changes they made themselves, so they should have expected this outcome.

Updated Review:
I’ve always been a loyal member to every fitness studio I’ve joined, and I came in with the same expectations here. To be fair, I’m leaving two stars only because of Arsharel and Nichol — they are truly amazing instructors who deserve to be teaching at an original Lagree studio, not in this environment.

Unfortunately, the trust I once had in this studio was broken. After many of us paid upfront for a full year membership, the owner, Judy, suddenly shifted direction: hiring inexperienced, non-certified trainers, opening a new location, and purchasing copycat machines instead of authentic Lagree equipment. Yes, you read that right — fake Lagree machines, which are not only unsafe but also disrespectful to long-time clients who believed in the original method and trusted her leadership.

The studio also rebranded from “Lagree” to “Modern Pilates,” which might be fine for newcomers, but as an original client, I signed up and invested in authentic Lagree training — not this. There’s nothing wrong with Pilates in general, but the issue is the bait-and-switch: we trusted we were paying for true Lagree, with certified trainers and proper equipment.

As someone who has always supported and respected my studios, I had no choice but to cancel my membership. It’s disappointing to see a place I once believed in lose its integrity. I’m new to Lagree and recently visited Core (LP). I workout regularly. However, I have never done a workout that made me feel the way this did (abs are on fire!). I was intimated at first and put off trying something I wasn’t familiar with for a while, but the instructor, Danielle, was very welcoming and guided me through the entire class. I've been taking classes here for about a month and a half - the instructors are great, and no two workouts are the same. I appreciate that there are classes dedicated to just upper or just lower body, along with the combined/"mega" classes. I also really appreciate the strong attention to proper form, which I feel like is a benefit of the 8 person max class size. There also seem to be regular pop up events and challenges (right now we're doing bingo) to help you stay motivated. All in all, it's been great!

Moving from NYC, I was looking for a mega reformer work out and only could find pilates workouts in Michigan. Mega-reformer work outs are so different targeting a variety of muscles and incorporating cardio in a low impact way using the reformer. I first started Core LP pre pregnancy, which kept me in great shape, but when I found out that I was pregnant, Judy helped tailor a safe prenatal workout keeping me strong and healthy. Postpartum, I look forward to Core LP bringing me back to my old body.

I started training at Core LP with the specific goal of rehabilitating my core after a pregnancy and C-Section. I already had a fitness routine that included weight training 4-5 days a week and cardio, but nothing I was doing was working for my core. I had pretty significant abdominal separation (3-4 fingers) from my pregnancy (even though I was 6 years post delivery). Judy is extremely knowledgeable and was able to design a program that helped to heal my core properly. We focused on my pelvic floor, which helped decrease adhesions around my c section scar, making it flatter and decreasing discomfort. My entire abdomen is flatter and stronger and my abdominal separation is now down to 2 fingers (and still progressing).
