It’s unbelievable they don’t have a corporate customer service number. They don’t even reply to this one email they provided on the website. Other than that even the personal training is not what I expected for price of $700. Even their staff communication is not good. Have so many concerns and don’t even know who to reach out to anymore at this point. Biggest disappointment!!! I wouldn’t recommend getting personal training with them. They are money hungry scammers when it comes to billing and thwy will not help you with your billing issues or any concerns at all.

They seem to have started to pay attention to stafing. It is cleaner than it has been.

Unfortunately, they're no longer keeping it. It's almost unsanitary the amount of urine that was on the floor under the unarals. I'm sure everyone's tracking that through the gym They don't seem to be interested in staffing it anymore either.
Also, equipment and bathrooms seemed to be broken and they don't fix it.
The people that have left are very nice Unfortunate is it's a very nice gym. You could tell ownership has lost interest.

I was surprised that in the locker rooms they do not have changing rooms by the showers. If you want privacy while get undressed to take a shower, get dressed after a shower, or simply change into workout attire, the only option is for you to use one of the bathroom stalls. Which may seem okay but it really isn't as a regular stall doesn't leave you much room to undress or get dressed. The facility seemed nice but having private space to get dressed or undressed is pretty important.

Was great when it opened since then there has been a steady decline in how clean they keep the gym. They also have staffing issues. One weekend I showed up and no staff was there just a signed taped to the check in computer that no staff was there that day and to scan in. The biggest issue now for me is their kids care room. My wife and I have had over 4 times where we show up during the kid care hours and they have no staff to operate their kids care room. No posts on their website or facebook to notify customers that they have no staff. This is not acceptable or a big ask. This issue has been going on for months.

Really good workout facility for what it is. There is plenty of equiptment even when the place is too busy. I do question the choice to have included 9 flat benches but only one incline and one decline. The one incline is never available. The music being played is absolutely terrible. Same lame remix crap over and over and over every day with no variety whatsover. And why is this trash just absolutely blasting in the lockerroom/restroom? To get people motivated to vacate as fast as possible? I question how this place has been open for less than a year and all the machines are dusty and filthy while 5 employees are standing around doing nothing. Biggest issue is the parking lot. I realize the building is not new, but the lot is similar to a bombed out airfield in the middle east. I ride a bike most days and it is downright dangerous. Completely inexcusable.

The gym is well maintained, there is a lot of equipment variety, classes of almost every kind and the staff has always been super kind. As a bigger individual it's one of the better gyms I've been to and being comfortable at. The crowd of people who go here are also very nice, respectful, and do not pressure you to speed up your workout process if they want to use the machine.

Crunch kentwood isn't a very good gym. The culture of the members there is super hostile and unfriendly especially to women. The staff there can't help you nor do they want to. Worst of all, they won't help me cancel my membership online despite me moving away form grand rapids, stating I must come into their gym to do so or mail them a signed membership cancelation letter. I would not recommend this crunch fitness.

.5/5 Stars – Unfair Policy Changes & Poor Treatment

I joined Crunch Fitness with an "unlimited" plan to train for a marathon, walking in honor of veterans (I’m a crisis counselor for veterans). At first, the staff didn’t mind me checking in and out multiple times a day—I’d walk 10,000+ steps outside, return to stretch, and repeat. But suddenly, GM Josh Schmuker informed me that my plan was now limited to only two check-ins per day, claiming it was in my contract.

Here’s the issue: It wasn’t. My girlfriend, a lawyer, reviewed the agreement and found no such clause—until they secretly altered my contract to enforce this rule. This felt targeted, discriminatory, and completely unfair, especially since my training directly supports veterans in need.

What’s the point of an "unlimited" membership if you’re restricted more than the average gym-goer? Instead of accommodating a member’s health goals (or at least being transparent), Crunch Fitness chose to change the rules mid-game. Unprofessional, dishonest, and a clear sign of poor management.

I do not recommend this gym—especially under Josh Schmuker’s leadership. If you value fairness and consistency, look elsewhere.

Been coming here the past 6 months, it’s become my second home.
I just love the staff, the fitness instructors and personal trainers. Nothing but good things to say about this location!
Jerell and Aubrie are my absolute favorite fitness instructors. But they are all amazing!
I love taking the hot classes like Pilates, hot core. The boxing, HIIT and barbell classes are also some of my favorite group classes.
If you are thinking about getting a membership here, please do, you won’t regret it.

I have felt like I am being pushed around for cancelling the membership and personal trainer. I have a medical emergency (literally ended up in the ER which I have told two the PT managers and others) from working out and have been advised by my doctor to no longer work out. They are trying to say I need to pay for the personal trainer for a month despite being unable to utilize it. I've asked for clarification several times and consistently told "we don't know" or "we don't have an answer for you" because they're waiting on corporate. It's been a week now that I've been waiting. I was supposed to get a call or at least a text Friday 7/25 from Caleb. Got nothing. Spoke with Lee on 7/26 and was told I'll get a call from Caleb on 7/27 or 7/28. I received no communication from Caleb or Lee or anyone. I called today 7/29 and should be getting a call from Lee despite needing to talk with Caleb about an answer apparently.

They also somehow messed up on billing and charged a card that did not show up on my account on the app after changing it causing that account to overdraft and they wouldn't refund. I was told to prove the overdraft fee and they'll see what they can do (I decided to speak to my bank instead and could void the fee because the "see what they can do" did not feel trustworthy and I didn't want to risk some store credit thing).

I didn't want to leave a review for the medical thing, I under corporate takes awhile but the lack of communication and the fact I have to be annoying to get a phone call, well annoying to be told I'll get a call just to not get a call is terrible. I do not know what else to do so review it is.

Showers are cold, half of the machines are always broken. Not enough space in the bathrooms. It's all about money with them. They did not inform the additional charges every month when paying with your card. Make sure you read the agreement throughly. They make it easy to sign up and use tricks as deals which turn out not to be a deal. Within a month of having the membership they charge for the full year or annual fee, of over $50, which negated the savings to sign up. If you want to cancel you have to give 30 day notice and you have to do it in person. In my town there is only one and not conveniently located. You can only sign up for classes within a certain number of hours before, to only come back and too late because they are filled. Staff is not helpful. I do not recommend this gym. Go to planet fitness instead

This place is 100% not recommended! I went through the worst customer experience here ever! The five star reviews have all been acquired through manipulation. Such as, offering free beverages for anyone who posts a five star review! Don’t believe the hype! I even signed up for the personal training and that’s where they really got me! After expressing dissatisfaction with how the program was presented to me the assistant manager of the training dept kicked me out! He literally probed me repeatedly for a response after telling him I didn’t want to discuss it I was displeased. He kept picking away and then when I finally told him my experience he called me negative and kicked me out! Of course that was after I calmly said to him that your not a life coach a personal trainer correct! Stay away from that guy named Lee Forsure! He even went as far as to say I threw a pen at him?! I did no such thing and if he was so threatened why did he continue to harass me after that? Food for thought! If this seems like to much haste leave for you then I’d say your right! These guys go out of there way to eliminate there problems not resolve them! Check it out even Google says this is a repeat complaint!

Everything in this location is new & clean! The benches, the machines, the hydro beds, and even the locker rooms.
Not overcrowded at all but even so I REALLY appreciated the addition of a second pec fly machine (other Crunch locations take notes!).

Lots of good here but room for improvement. The Elkay water bottle filler needed a new filter & not enough yoga classes imo…

I joined for a free 1 month trial, i ended up not wanting to continue and was told I would have to pay $60 to cancel a FREE trial… i then got charged for yearly fees ($60) and the monthly fee ($10). I then went to cancel again and thought since I had paid the $60 annual fees I would not be charged anything, I was told I still had to pay $60 to cancel and ended up paying it just to get out. I never even ended up using the gym during the free trial or after. The only time I stepped foot in the gym was to cancel and they got at least $130 from me…

The weights in the functional training room are disorganized, weight plates just left on the floor, the barbells are not in the right spot. If the staff is not going to make sure equipment is in the right spot, they need to stress to customers to put it back where you got it from.There have been multiple times I've been in the women's locker room and people have had to ask for toilet paper to be passed to them, or the sanitary trash was full.

I’m very disappointed with Crunch Fitness personal training. While I did know I signed a 3-month agreement, I informed them ahead of time that I’d be away for a college visit something important and out of my control. I expected to be able to cancel or pause my sessions due to this emergency, But instead they charged me for extra sessions. When I asked for a refund, they said since the money was already taken, they couldn’t return it. That’s just not right. Emergencies happen, and they should be more flexible and understanding. I feel like I was treated unfairly, Be cautious before signing anything here they care more about money than their clients.

The best gym around for $10/month. I joined partly because I knew what was going to be available in terms of free weights and machines but also because of the amazing customer service Josh provided in the weeks prior to their opening when I had a number of questions for him that he patiently and politely answered. In the last few weeks I have had a chance to regularly use Crunch, and it has not disappointed. I discover something new almost every visit. For example, the two SledMills were an unexpected find last time there thanks to Lee, an always-smiling and always-helpful personal trainer at Crunch. Keep up the good work, Crunch Kentwood!

Love the facility it’s very spacious with tons of equipment so even when it’s busy you will still be able to use the equipment that you want. The staff is great as soon as you come in you can feel the positive energy which helps motivate me to have an amazing workout

I switched my membership from Planet Fitness to Crunch because there are a lot more machines, weights, and actual squat racks. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Joel, Muriel, and Davneet :)

Crunch is amazing. I love how everyone is so friendly and actually acknowledges people as they come in. It’s a great community of cool people and I get excited to come here. Joel, Chase, Davneet, and Muriel are some of my favorites and I love getting to chat with them. I left my favorite gym for this place and I don’t regret it :)
