I have been intrigued with the idea of trying Aerial Silks for years but have always been nervous because I have no previous experience (nor particular strength or coordination). I decided to take the plunge and I'm so glad I went to Flying Skull. All of the instructors I've encountered have been incredibly helpful and encouraging and I've never been made to feel bad for the pace at which I'm learning (in fact, quite the opposite). It's become the highlight of my week and I'm so glad to have found Flying Skull.

Extremely welcoming and inclusive environment to learn in. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and great at explaining and modifying for different skill levels and experience.

I love the classes at Flying Skull! Everyone here, instructors and students, is always so welcoming, supportive, and patient with my not particularly coordinated, athletic, flexible, strong, or spatially aware self. I really appreciate the ability to do drop-in classes, as my availability isn’t consistent enough to commit to a regular class time—plus, I like the ability to try different classes as I’m able. I’m learning a lot, I’m getting a lot stronger, and I am a lot more motivated to work on my fitness outside of class so I can do more fun things in class. Most importantly, I’m having a great time, and trying out aerial has been a wonderful gift to myself :)

Always wanted to try aerial, but I was always too nervous I'd be bad at it. Tried Flying Skull and found my home. Not only are the instructors encouraging, patient, and amazing, but there is no judgment. I've been given a new since of confidence both on and off the aerial mat. Great place for people of all ages and sizes.

I love these classes! I've taken classes with both Christina and Diane and they're both patient, celebrate your wins, and encourage you to challenge yourself.

Easily the best movement classes I have ever taken! I've done splits flexibility, handstands/backbends, aerial yoga, and a beginner aerial silks class with these instructors and they are some of the kindest and most encouraging humans I know! This is a comfortable space to try things out and explore what you can do with knowledgeable and encouraging teachers and classmates.

Flying Skull Aerial and Movement Arts is where it’s at if you live in or around the Ann Arbor/Ypsi area and are looking for an incredibly supportive group of teachers and students to support you on your aerial silks/aerial hoop (lyra)/flexibility/handstand/backbends journey! The teachers are some of the best I’ve had the opportunity to learn from and I always walk out of classes happier than I was when I came in. When I first started taking classes with this group of aerial enthusiasts, I was a total novice (absolutely no prior experience with aerials, flexibility training, gymnastics-type sports, etc.) and I felt welcomed and supported from day one. It’s great how fun and engaging the classes are — each is tailored to allow students to work on whatever their growth edge may be. If you’re looking to spice up your movement practice, I would highly recommend trying out some classes here - you won’t regret it!
