Our birthday party experience at GRG for our 3 year old was amazing! Tammy, Victoria, and the rest of the staff were so kind, welcoming, and made the event flow smoothly. From setting up and tearing down everything, to knowing all 20+ children’s names, to leading an organized and fun flow of gym activities, cake celebration, and presents, it was a total hit for the kids and parents alike. It was super simple to bring it out of food, cake, and drinks, and the rest was on autopilot!!!!

Came here for a birthday party. If you're a parent you've likely been to a lot of so so parties w/ your kids. That is what I was expecting here, but Ms. Tammy, made one of the most entertaining and fun birthdays I've seen in awhile. She had games for each part the party to keep kids engaged throughout i.e. moving from one activity to another, giving gifts after an obstacle corse, and I don't know how she does it but she remembered every kid's name in a group of 10-15 which was sweet and honestly impressive and really got the kids attention. People like Ms Tammy really make the world a better place!

My son has Coach Erica for his class, and she does such a great job. I've seen her expertly handle some pretty tricky situations. She cares about that kids and is very knowledgeable in the sport. The kiddo absolutely loves going to class every week and can't wait to tell Coach Erica about what he practices at home. I'm extremely protective of my kid and trust barely anyone with him, but I know he is in great hands here.

I called 12 times since 9am to ask about open gym. The website says every Tuesday. They didn’t post about no open gym nor was it on their website. Called 12 times, sent an email, and messaged them on messenger. Drove an hour to get here to find a sign on the door, extremely disappointed they couldn’t answer a single phone call

I signed up my daughter for gym stars 3. I was contacted by Devin Tyner she stated that there needs to be an elevation done in order to review her skills since she has been out of gymnastics for a year. I scheduled the evaluation for the following day not even half way into the day I received a email stating that the request has been denied . So I called Grand Rapids gymnastics and spoke to Alexis that confirmed she denied the request. Complete disregard to Devin Tyner and the information. Poor communication on the staff’s behalf . Since she denied the request even if she passes the elevation to start in gym stars 3 there will be no openings. Poorly handled by Alexis! Lost a potential client. Poor customer service!!

I've only ever been here for the free baby gym on Mondays, so I can only speak to the staff and facility that exist in those times and spaces.

First off, let me just say that the free open gym for babies has been AMAZING for my kiddo's mobility development and my sanity. What an amazing resource for our community and every staff member I've spoken to there (albeit briefly and really only ever pleasantries) has been very kind and they actually seem to adore the children in the facility (something that can be rare in certain areas where children are present).

The facility itself:
There's a wide variety of equipment that simultaneously appears well-loved and well-maintained. The entire place is incredibly clean. From the front entry to the bathroom to the gymnasium itself, I've never been grossed out or suspicious about anything I've seen here. They also have vending machines (that take cards!) on site which has been an absolute life saver for me in the past when kiddo was hungry and I'd forgotten a snack.

Baby time:
I wish this was done more often or had additional time slots, but I understand that doing something for free takes time out of programs that could actually make the place money, so I understand why.
On top of the gymnastics equipment that already exists in the gym full time, staff also brings out kid-oriented things like small slides, rockers, egg shakers, scarves, tunnels, etc. It's a full experience, they really go all out for these kids.

So why 4 stars? The music. 90% of it is great! But that remaining 10% which always catches me off guard is Christian worship music, just sung by children's choirs so that it blends in with the other songs. It's not a Christian organization (as far as I'm aware), and the kids obviously aren't old enough to understand but it absolutely makes me feel "othered". I want to be clear, not a single staff member has ever pushed religion onto me and I've not witnessed it happening to anyone else. There's no signs or art about religion. This is just about the few songs that pop up. It's not a reason to boycott or avoid, but just something that staff could potentially alter to help out their anxious and diverse clientele.

Overall, it seems like a great facility. We're coming up on the end of the age range for baby time and we may even continue with their 18m classes if there's room.

Could not recommend GRG more -- we went here for my Bachelorette party and had the BEST time. Tammy was so great both in communication leading up to the event, and in wrangling our group the day of. Her high school assistant was also a testament to how well trained their gymnasts are. For adults looking for a fun activity, this is the place to go :)

Our son attends Ninja Monkeys so we decided to have his 6th birthday party here. What an amazing experience. Truly unforgettable.

What a gem they have in Ms Tammy! I cannot tell you how amazing she was with our guests ages 2-6. They all had such a blast. Parents couldn’t stop smiling.

The value is incredible, decorations, party favors, and experienced staff member who runs it all. Ms Tammy made our birthday boy feel so special, she even built him a Mario Castle to open his presents on.

We had a birthday party at GR Gymnastics, and I was thrilled with the experience. Ms Tammy was wonderful to work with, and extremely accommodating to our huge group.

Not only was she great through the planning process, this woman can own a room! The way she effortlessly corrals a group our size with grace and ease shows what a true professional she is.

If you’re planning a birthday for a child who has a hard time pairing down their guest list, then this is definitely a great venue to consider. Best overall value I found in the area, and so much open room for play!

We’ve also enjoyed their open gym and summer camp programs. All of the staff is great. I can’t wait to get my kids in their ninja classes! The times they offer are very accommodating for working parents.

My daughters have done summer camps here in the past and have always enjoyed them. This year I signed up my 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son. It wasn't until recently that I realized I made a big boo-boo and had double booked my daughter that week! In addition my 5 year old son broke his leg and wasn't going to be able to go to the camp. I told GRG and their customer service was AMAZING!!! They were incredibly kind and understanding. They refunded me for the original camp and were even able to re-book them for the last week of the summer. I cannot say enough how happy and relieved I am! I am so thankful for their compassion, flexibility and understanding!

GRG is amazing! It's because of GRG and Coach Kristi that my daughter has become an amazing tumbler for cheerleading. Kristi puts her great knowledge and whole heart into each and every session Hailey attends with her. If you are looking for a great competitive cheer team this is the place!
