5 stars because that’s as high as the rating goes, but believe me Great Lakes is amazing. I have been a member for years now and the faculty including the owners go above and beyond. The gym is the largest in Coldwater, and by far the best priced. Smoothies? Free spin classes? CrossFit style workouts? Bodybuilding? Great Lakes covers every single base. No extra fees, friendly staff that cares and the best equipment in town. Check them out if you are new to town and or visiting!

This fitness club is so welcoming, and positive. I’m always greeted with nothing less than smiles and “how are you?”
The staff is so considerate that they can name nearly all their members and something about them. Everyone- members, staff and owners alike are all so helpful and kind. This atmosphere is unmatched. I love the classes, and the instructors go above and beyond , accommodating needs in their rooms for each person attending.

I have never had a bad experience at this gym and I don’t anticipate to ever stumble across one.

I literally can’t say enough good things about GLHF. I will never workout anywhere else- you get what you pay for and what you get here is nothing but the best of literally everything.

Was a member for around seven years up until today. My buddy was bothered on two separate occasions DURING his workout because his card expired at the end of this month (neither of us are billed directly but billed through our work). Rather than having proper gym etiquette and customer service by waiting until after a workout to say something he was just straight up interrupted multiple occasions. This rubbed us both the wrong way especially when nothing was said to me since I had no card on file at all. When we both made the decision to cancel our memberships we were given a 30 day window in case we changed our mind. Not even 20 minutes after I left the very kind lady at the desk called and said she spoke with the owner and he waived that 30 days and cancelled immediately (someone had his ego hurt). Maybe he can take a lesson on customer service from Ellie at the counter who showed empathy and kindness during the entire process. I will be advising everyone to stay away!

Good location, good equipment. Overpriced though, paying $72.99 a month for a gym that only has one location. Extremely aggressive contracts, with only a 2 month pause. Prices being increased without warning. Went in for the usual protien shake and prices had tripled. Equipment is plentiful, but aging. Pins falling out etc. One of those gyms that used to be great, but is slowly going down hill. If looking for a gym in the branch area, anytime might be better.

Poorly managed gym. Don’t waste your time or money on this gym. They lock you in a contract no matter what the circumstances are and only allow a 2 month membership pause. I had an unforeseen medical issue that I had to have surgery for, spent 3 months recovering, and had postoperative issues that needed to be addressed. They only paused my membership 2 months when I was physically unable to exercise and was placed under bed rest per my surgeon. Then I spent another 3 months addressing postoperative issues. This gym refuses to work with me due to my medical issues. I will never recommend this gym to anyone.

I have been with Great Lakes for 11 years already, love the gym and everything about it, I try to go every morning before work, we have personal trainers from their and we love everything about it but in the last month they try to charged us $200 dollars because supposedly one of my family members didn’t used their card or finger print, they show me a video of us 3 each one of us even used the card or finger print, my husband hold the door because it was winter time but the door make the open sound every time we go in, and trust me we are not that kind of family we follow the rules, especially we are business owners and we love to try to make things easier. So march 4th at 9:00 a.m I stop by the front desk and talk to them, try to be very nice, they try to confuse me telling me I have to rub my fingers and make warm before I use my fingers, if I hear the door sound 3 times, that I sign a consent waiver, well a couple of my clients have the same problem the month before and same thing they did to me, what ever 40 minutes after I talked to them they called me and said everything was supposed to be fixed, they did the same to my sister, and they told me we are supposed to make sure we sign in. Well this morning we went in for my boy to work out at the gym and he makes plans this morning to work out with his cousin, my card went through but not my sons, they made me call my husband over so I did, after 40 minutes waiting they said you guys can not work out because the situations haven’t been take cared of. This young boy tries to do his best calling someone, of course I was going to be really nice at him and another young girl was in their too. We were really nice because we know its not their fault they’re just doing their job. But its really sad that Great Lakes doesn’t take care of their loyal clients appropriately, it hearts my feelings how they pretty much gets us out like criminals, very sad that a family can not go and work out together and worry about the door or getting billed $200, a lot of the families cannot afford that. We left ruining our morning workout, as soon as we get home we started looking for other options because we feel like we’re getting treated like criminals and this is so sad. I hate to leave bad reviews but this has happened to way too many families already. And Great Lakes this is not how you take care of your loyal clients that pay their bills every month.

Overpriced for the equipment available. Smoothie bar uses syrups instead of fresh fruit. Tanning beds take up unnecessary space, never seen anyone use them. I’d look elsewhere.

This is a standard health club with cardio and weights, which is what I was looking for. I like the 24/7 availability and that equipment appears to be well maintained. There's a decent women's only area, basic locker facilities with standard half size lockers, showers, and curtained changing areas. I think at full price I'd want a pool or other amenities personally, but with my health insurance discount, $29/mo currently is pretty reasonable. I'm new so I haven't tried any classes yet. I wish they had options later in the evening with my work schedule, but I imagine the demand just isn't there.

I didn't get to work out there , but I took a tour while I was there purchasing some used equipment. I would have to say it's a very nice gym.lots of machines to work out on , very nice free weight area, a womans section. They offer allot of classes throughout the day.. everyday, if I lived in Coldwater this would be my go to spot. Oh yeah and they have a drink bar where they make protein shakes.. totally impressed, I will be back there to work out soon

The staff are great here. They have classes, a daycare, a women's area, a locker room, and a large selection of equipment. The membership fee is a little on the pricey side but I love this gym and drive here from hillsdale because there's nothing else in the area that compares to it. Per state regulations occupants should be wearing masks and practicing social distancing. NONE of that was happening. I asked the girl behind the counter and she informed me that NO ONE was being asked or required to wear a mask. I have health problems and I recently had surgery. It's nice to see a gym, owned by a doctor, ran like an unsupervised children's party. MASKS ARE NOT POLITICAL, stop putting already at risk people in danger.

It's a really nice gym. There is a wide variety of equipment and friendly staff. The separate woman's room is great. I've only ever had one problem here. I wore a new jacket and hung it up in the locker room. There were just a couple other people there. When I left, I realized someone had stolen my jacket. Staff checked the cameras the next day and there wasn't anything they could do for me. They didn't see anyone leave with it in their hands, so they couldn't go accusing other members. I totally get it, but it was pretty disappointing. Other than that, I've had no problems. It's a very nice and clean place. There is a variety of different classes. When there are no classes going on, there is a kiosk where you can start a work out to follow on the projector, there are things like Zumba, HIIT and many others. The membership price is fair for everything that's available. I'd definitely recommend this gym to others.

This gym was top-notch when they first opened. Their on-site trainers were very friendly and helpful. Over the years they have let some of the equipment gone to disrepair, it takes months sometimes to get fixed, the tv’s have been removed or just stay broken, and they don’t seem to have any trained staff anymore. They even removed the suggestion boxes. I am thankful they still have the daycare, though.

My husband and I both have monthly accounts with this gym. It is affordable and conviently located. It's accessible from the highway. They offer discounts for military and certain companies here in town. They have a women's area and a cycling room. They also have an electronic on demand workout room with projector. Which means you can do yoga in the middle of the night. Very nice place.
