HOTWORX is the best relief for my pain while helping me strengthen my body and achieve my fitness goals. I have fibromyalgia and this has been the thing that helps me sleep at night. I love it here, the staff is always very friendly, it’s clean and has 24 hour availability. Sometimes I come before work and it’s nice that they have a shower to clean up before I head out.

was charged $160 to cancel! When I first looked into canceling 2 weeks prior it was $90 - then went up to $160 (and you can still use the studio for 2 month - super helpful when you are out of area). I joined over a year ago and had to cancel due to a job move. I asked specifically when I joined if there was a fee to cancel and was told that after the 3 month contract period there were no penalties or I could opt for a hold on the membership for $9 a month.

In response to the owner that just posted: it was deceptive. Online the wording and policy changed in 2 weeks - it had the $99 option and then only the 2 month pay in advance option.

I enjoyed my workouts at HOTWORX, but have now decided at home workouts are more cost effective and conducive for my lifestyle now. Cancelling this gym membership has been the most difficult thing I have ever had to cancel. I had to come in and fill out paperwork and still don’t have a clear answer on whether it’s cancelled or not. I can only speak to the manager about this and I have yet to get hold of her. I would have come back in a heartbeat in the future when the timing is right. However, this cancellation process has me feeling otherwise. I’m still waiting for a callback after repeated attempts.

I’ve been going to HOTWORX for the past few months, and I absolutely love it. I’m super busy so the “more workout in less time” outlook is super helpful for my schedule. The staff is so nice, always greeting me and they were super helpful and knowledgeable when I first started. The membership is pricey, but SO worth it. I love that they are open 24 hrs and I can go whenever I want. Not only do I sweat a lot at HOTWORX, but the infrared therapy has been so good overall for my body. I highly recommend HOTWORX to anyone!

NOTE: the app is the biggest issue, especially for Android users.

Jan 2014 update. They have fixed the issues where the saunas have the incorrect workouts listed. They have spoken to us about the issues with the app, they are not corrected yet but they have adjusted some things so we can see the times and workouts at the same time instead of one or the other. Still can't BOOK 3 people but we are told we can bring a third if we let them know. Also the App has not recorded my calories in 2 months which is an issue because these calorie points let you earn rewards like discounts and merch so even though im working out 4-5 a week and app sees the number of workouts it's not recording my overall progress so I can't earn anything. Bummer.

The staff at this location are really nice and want to see things improve.

Review update DEC 2023. They still haven't opened our location for more than 2 people at a time and the new app is somehow more confusing and bigger than the old one. My workouts get stuck weekly and I have to cancel them and put a dummy one back in later. It's truly a thing to behold to bad this whole thing is.

The Hotworx app is used to book classes, track workouts, and earn "sweat points" which can be used to get membership discounts. This is all great in practice but the app is over A YEAR out of date for Android.

This means there are features that apple users have ( such as tracking fasting diets) that Android users simply don't have. Also many many big fixes. As such the have been a few times in the 2 weeks we've been coming here where we cannot enter our workouts because the app stopped working ( even reinstalling does not work) and sometimes the Android app is just too out of date.

This is a huge letdown.

It's nice to have a gym close to home.

The video classes change every 3-4 weeks allegedly

There are 15-20 minute HIIT workouts and longer Isometric workouts. ( Up to 45 minutes)

They have a weight area which is nice as I prefer weight lifting over classes but I am enjoying the variety. You do not need to book time for the weights. You can come and go as you please.

You do get a PIN code as you can sign up for classes and use the gym 24/7.

I do wish the weight area had some larger weights and a bench press bench but it's not a huge deal.

Lastly, you must purchase their yoga mat and towel which makes sense because it's all in a sauna, but if you can find them used online I would recommend that as they are very expensive through Hotworx.

If you are an Apple iphone user or don't mind not being able to track workouts with the app, they are pretty neat and not bad at all. If we had another gym option close to home that offered virtual or in person classes daily I would switch gyms asap.

Well, I have had many memberships at different gyms different types of workouts, but HOTWORX truly is the best one. Can’t say cardio is ever been my favorite but I actually really enjoy all the classes I do at hotworx feel like I’m getting triple benefits and I really like that! I ended up switching to another gym, because traffic northbound on M-24 is infuriating, so for location alone, they lose a star. They have a pretty cut and dry cancellation policy and it only took about 2 minutes to cancel. Great in-gym customer service.

I have worked out at many fitness centers and I have to say Lake Orion Hotworx did not disappoint. I say this to say that I chose Hotworx because of their state of the art fitness equipment, excellent customer service, and extremely clean work out facility.
The customer service I received from Rio - Abigail and Nina was excellent. The team assisted me in identifying a realistic workout program to get me my desired results. The team was very knowledgeable about fitness, body mass, plan of action, and nutrition several issues that have challenged me over the years.

I really enjoy working out at Hotworx in the amazing infrared saunas! The workouts are varied and challenging, 8 different 40 minute and 3 different 15 minute HIIT workouts. I have been consistently coming 5-6 days a week since opening day, motivated by great changes in my overall health and fitness. It’s a terrific way to start my day and the best gym experience I’ve ever had. I also like the fact that the saunas are private and are booked on the app at my convenience. The staff, Nina and Abby, and the owner, Rio, are awesome, very gracious and supportive. I highly recommend trying out Hotworx, you will not regret it!

This gym has filled a void in the area that needed to be addressed. This is the perfect workout studio for working moms or anyone trying to "fit it in" since it is open 24 hours per day. I have found that the classes are pretty available and I have not had a problem getting into the class I wanted. The place is a little crowded, likely because its so new. Once the kinks are worked out this is going to be the "orange theory" of the area. Get in while the prices are still exceptionally reasonable!
