I’ve been coming here for a while now. Let me just say the women’s only gym has been the best gym I’ve ever been to. It’s always so positive and very clean. The worker there I think her name is nene“Nevein” is always cleaning the mirrors and making sure everything is where it’s supposed to be. Hype Athletics On Top💯

The actual gym is the size of a high school weight room considering how much broken and very outdated equipment, seems like the owner just wants money so he builds new amenities to jack up the price instead of fixing the men’s gym. Planet fitness, edge or literally anywhere else is cleaner and has better equipment. do not go here, horrible customer service too.

Do not go to this gym if you have any other option!
Basketball gyms are always occupied with no notice, there’s a few amazing workers at the desk but the rest are super rude and unprofessional, the manager has zero customer service experience and is somehow more rude than the staff, their equipment is not only old but very dangerous to use since it’s always broken.
I have fell out of their seats because the pins are broken so it just snaps down, and hurt myself a couple times.
I have no issue with the sauna but for almost 50$ a month having nothing other than a sauna and track as amenities is beyond laughable. Some of the weights have sand leaking from them, the fly machines haven’t been fixed in a year now, one of the two cable rows doesn’t work half the time, the roof is always leaking and to top it all of there’s never any staff inside cleaning or enforcing any rules.
The teams they rent out to to train there are overly and take up all the equipment, and there’s no way to know if they’re there since HYPE has no way of talking to customers.

If you’re thinking about joining and read this, DO NOT GO, all the positive reviews are misinforming.

Faida at Hype Athletics has been such a big help to me since I joined. She’s always welcoming and makes sure I’m taken care of every time I come in. I can tell she really cares about the members and goes out of her way to help with anything I need. The gym itself is always very clean and well maintained, which makes working out here a lot more enjoyable. . Faida is also super professional but still kind and easy to talk to. She really makes the whole experience more personal and comfortable. Honestly, she’s one of the main reasons I look forward to coming back.

I got my membership to enjoy the new amenities, particularly the steam room that was part of the remodel. However, I was shocked to find out that the steam room has not been functioning since I joined, just a week after its opening.

Been disappointed, still disappointed.

When I inquired about the issue, the front desk staff mentioned that it’s "manual" and if not on means
that it’s broken. I find it hard to believe that a brand new steam room could be inoperable right from the start.

Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with this situation. The upgrade and remodel do not seem worth it if the new features aren’t operational. I hope the management addresses this issue promptly, as it is affecting the overall experience for members like myself.

I personally myself not to be rude or anything but I didn’t like it at all, the gym I go in and the boys just act weird and cocky and are just loud and show off a lot as well as the kids and some staff were nice but the others really made me uncomfortable, especially one girl who was white and I was getting my mom and yeh she was being racist and she used to work at hype and she was really mean and rude because I’m not being racist, this all is my honest review and she was very mean like I don’t know what’s wrong with her, I believe she got fired especially because I heard too, and thankfully she did because I never saw someone as rude as her, she should think about what the families go through and yeh the other staff just make me feel uncomfortable and there are some kids I know, yeah get out, they are so cocky and devastating and honestly I regret participating in hype, especially when with some teams, yeh teammates didn’t treat like teammates and other players are just cocky and I don’t know, and more than that, and yeah hype just gives me a headache, I just prefer to go to any different gym like anytime fitness, lifetime and even more if you can because even some of my friends and even family don’t like it, yeh hype is nothing special, it’s makes me feel a horrible person especially with all those cocky kids and boys and even girls, whenever I look at hype, I’m like “HELLLLLLLLLL” , my opinion but for those who hate it especially how as much as I hate it, go to a different gym if you can and as well as your kids or friends so they will feel comfortable and honestly to play basket just go to any park, or any other chill and quiet gym that you can scrimmage or play teams, because hype is not the one for me, not trying to be offensive but I didn’t like it at all, I had an awful and embarrassing experience which is why I once switched to lifetime but sadly as I got older, we got our membership back to hype and I go cause it’s our only option apparently, but yeh other gyms,parks or places have the same activities with nicer and more polite people and even dinner and more options but hype👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎, kids and people are just not well, and definitely not a place for your family.

I just want to say I wanted to say thank you to the owner Ali about a week or two I've been coming to this gym for over a year and I ride my bike from time to time Friday somebody took the bike off the locks and stole it in they tried to find and look at the cameras the person that stole it and policy have it if things get stolen it's not their fault but anyway he got me a bike and donated it to me which is a nice bike they didn't have to do it he didn't have to do it but he did it anyway so I'm very thankful and I like how they give handicapped people and kids jobs up there and make them feel special and they treat them good awesome place to come with you and your family thanks for giving me bike nice one at that thank Jesus for that 🙏🙏

Love this community! Love all the staff. Ameer and bill are just so kind and professional. There are also other incredible workers that I wish I knew their names to say. Everyday I love seeing navene and forem, two hard working, encouraging workers in the ladies gym. Always working so hard and still smiling. I know the people from the admins and they are ethical and honest good people from the community with families themselves. This place is centered around family and the betterment of community. Its a safe place for our kids to go. At the same time, they have added some nice perks for those that like luxury too. Its a breath of fresh air in how diverse it is as well. Its a practical gym and court center w many activities that really offers everything we need. I love love love how they employ people such as some with disabilities and boy are those people some the kindest hard working people youll ever meet. The members there are all supportive of eachother. The womens only center with the daycare has been a life saver for me as a mom of five. I do wish they could work something out for brand new mamas with infants and make a stroller section like other family gyms do. The postpartum period is truly and crucial time for so so many women who can develop conditions that require excercise healthwise. I went here a couple weeks ago to try it out. And the women cleaning the upstairs gym should get the pay of the girl downstairs. The women cleaning was super sweet, can’t say that same about the one downstairs. The girl at the front desk was so incredibly rude and belittling. How she thought her behavior was acceptable i’ll never know. if that’s the environment people are being greeted with, i would recommend another gym. Even if another gym had two sets of equipment but a welcoming and friendly environment. I’d pick that over this gym. I’ve seen other comments about the staff being rude, i can see that’s still true. Maybe she’s the owners niece or something, but she is repulsing customers. If the problem was fixed or gone, i would definitely consider going there. I genuinely hope things change as no body deserves to get treated like she treats people. Not everyone peaked in high school.

I've been to a lot of gyms in the area and this is one of the best. Some of the gym equipment is a bit dated but still very functional. Very clean lockeroom. Big sauna and steam room. Lots of basketball courts. They even have a little restaurant, although i haven't tried the food. Overall a great value.

I was extremely disappointed with our recent experience at this complex. We were charged $45 per person for entry, which is steep, and naturally raised expectations for a well-maintained, organized facility. Unfortunately, those expectations were not met.

The bathrooms were in poor condition — dirty, unkempt, and completely out of soap, which is unacceptable, especially in a high-traffic environment where cleanliness should be a priority. To make matters worse, on the day of the tournament, the facility opened late. This caused unnecessary stress for the kids and teams who were left standing outside with no opportunity to warm up properly before their games.

For the amount charged, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and basic amenities. This experience felt disorganized and unprepared, and I hope management takes these issues seriously to improve for future events.

This gym is fantastic with all the activities they offer, but the women's only section has some issues. A few of the equipment is either broken, unstable, or outdated. They recently added about 5-8 new machines, which is great, but they really need to replace a few more that are still broken. It's super frustrating not being able to do certain workouts because the machines don’t work properly. The place is clean and overall great, but the women's gym definitely needs some new equipment, please.

Don’t be deceived by the many basketball rims they have. Every visit I’ve made they’re 70-90% occupied by training/leagues Hype has for kids. The couple rims that are available are completely chaotic with small children running everywhere. They don’t offer a calendar to show when courts will be occupied so we can work around it. So if you’re an adult looking to capitalize on the one distinguishing feature of Hype, their courts, don’t waste your money. If you have kids you want to just drop off and forget this is your place.

The HALAL RIB FEST is a Food Event that was held at the courtyard of Hype Athletics and was held in July summer. We experienced the ultimate Rib Fest which was a 100% No Pork Event, which means there were no pork dishes or products sold at the event so it was a perfect event for us coz we don’t eat pork. It was an unforgettable event featuring 100% Halal BBQ (no pork), delicious street food, a pop-up market, live entertainment, kids fun zone and so much more. We enjoyed the succulent ribs and barbecue top vendors such as the Texas Jack’s BBQ Pit, Bubba Lou’s Bar-B-Q and Bedouin BBQ.

Beautiful facility but will not be retuning after my contract is up. As a black family it’s not that comfortable all the time. And the kids sports is so unorganized and not fair. If kids are paying to play they shouldn’t be on a bench even during practice ..they cannot learn like that. Even my child said he doesn’t learn anything at practice.
When parents spend money on sports at this age they should be educated on the game not just scoring.

Then if you actually want them to learn someone you have to pay an additional amount of money just for training….. it’s just a no for me

The women’s gym area has improved a lot and they extended it to sauna, steam room. They even have weekend fitness classes that are really fun. Great place for women’s to workout as it’s only women area. I feel like they should add more secured ways for the women gym like anyone can open the door and access it. They should take more security measures as to insure that their clients are safe and no man is allowed in that area. I have been to other gym only gyms and they have better security measures like they will have special tags cards for the women’s just to scan and go inside and the door locks right away behind. At hype they don’t t provide that for the price that your women members pay you you guys have more security measures should be implemented in place.

I was really excited to find an all-women's gym, as it seemed like a perfect fit for me. Unfortunately, my experience was soured by a staff member who made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. There’s a heavyset woman who, I’m assuming, works there, and she was extremely rude. I think her name was Jackie. On several occasions, I’ve witnessed her kicking people off machines and giving preference to those she seems to like, which feels very unfair.

On one visit, she came up to me and told me to get off a machine I was using, without any reasonable explanation. Her approach was loud and obnoxious, and it made me feel intimidated. I’m now hesitant to return, as I feel uneasy about interacting with her.

I really wanted to enjoy my time at this gym, but this experience has left me feeling uncomfortable and unsure about continuing my membership. It’s disappointing because I had high hopes for this place.

I recently joined a gym that is supposed to be for girls only, but I had a very unsettling experience. I was thoroughly disappointed with my experience at this gym. Despite its modern appearance, the facility is poorly maintained, with equipment that is often out of order and a lack of cleanliness in common areas, including locker rooms. The staff seemed disengaged, and disrespectful.To make matters worse, the sauna, which was one of the reasons I initially signed up, has been "out of service" because the women always want to play with it.This has become a running joke among members, but it's no laughing matter when you’re paying for amenities that are promised but unavailable. The gym is consistently overcrowded during peak hours, leading to long waits for equipment and a general feeling of chaos rather than motivation. I have been going to this gym for a few years now mainly because of the all ladies section. Compared to other all ladies gyms the price range is better for the amount of equipment there is for us to utilize. However, I have noticed especially over the years, how poorly managed the all ladies section is. The dumbbells are always laying around on the floor, racked on top of each other, or missing the second pair. The barbells are always left on the floor racked. Plates are scattered everywhere and never in weight order (45lbs at the bottom and 5s on the top) causing me to spend MORE time trying to find the plates I need. Overall, I feel like the owners just threw a bunch of random plates and dumbbells upstairs that don’t match. The benches are old and some of the machines are broken. They recently installed a sauna which is nice but always packed. The bathrooms are never clean no matter how much I see the ladies in there cleaning it and I believe it’s because of the girls that go there. Everyone has the right to attend a gym, but there needs to be better management upstairs and maybe keep someone up there at all times. Girls go there to socialize, save machines and spend 30 minutes chit chatting with their besties. The gym needs a major upgrade. They got new cardio equipment which are nice so hopefully they’ll update the weights section soon and better manage upstairs who is going there because many of the girls treat it as social time and hang around hogging up machines and equipment.

I’ve been going to hype for almost ten years now and I’ve enjoyed the gym especially with the new upgraded gym designs for the women’s side. It’s nice to have a gym thats inclusive for women and offers various fitness classes. I’d also like to say that Leon is one of the best people that is apart of Hype, he’s helped me multiple times throughout the years and his kindness and professionalism doesn’t go unnoticed. He’s one of the reasons why I stayed going to Hype, he makes the hype environment so welcoming like a big family. I truly recommend this gym and recreational center!

It’s okay for the price that you’re paying however the equipments are outdated. I’ve noticed that they still do not fix broken equipments the leg machines are broken (2 out of the 4 that I’ve seen) and the cycling machines have ripped belts for the feet. It’s not a bad gym I just wish they fixed things sooner than just having it there unfixed for a few days. I do love the sauna and the steam room but they get broken down often. While management is nice, they’re loud sometimes and the janitor always complains about her job which is off putting because it puts the ladies in the dressing room in an awkward position including me..she seems really nice but it’s not the time and place. I’ve also noticed they complain about having to clean things since they’re so loud I overheard them complaining about cleaning blood on the floor and how it’s not their job to clean it..? Idk maybe im just nit picking I was hoping for a nice experience at this gym and it’s just sometimes off putting and unprofessional. Anyway! Yes please fix the equipments 🥲 other than that this gym is alright you get what you pay for I guess.

Avoid This Gym at All Costs!

I honestly don’t know where to start with this terrible experience. I’ve been a member at hype for a while now, and I can confidently say this place is a scam. If you’re looking for a decent gym that cares about its members and provides value, please look elsewhere.

First off, their cancellation policy is an absolute joke. I tried to cancel my membership after a few months and found out the hard way that they have ridiculously high cancellation fees. Despite following all the necessary steps and giving them plenty of notice, I was still hit with a huge penalty that was never made clear upfront, They leave out a bunch of info and swear that you were made aware despite no actual warning. It's honestly predatory—their whole system is designed to make it as hard as possible for you to get out of your contract.

On top of that, this gym is severely overpriced for the quality of service they provide. The equipment is outdated, and the facilities are dirty and poorly maintained. Considering its almost $50 A MONTH , you'd expect a much more polished experience. They lure you in with flashy ads and promises of exclusive amenities, but when it comes down to it, you're just paying a premium for a mediocre gym experience at best.

And let’s talk about customer service they’re awful. Every time I reached out for help, whether it was to clarify charges or ask about my membership, I was met with rude, dismissive staff especially by that stuck up young lady at the front. They don’t care about you as a member; once they’ve got your money, they seem to forget you exist.

I would highly recommend avoiding this gym. Between the shady cancellation fees, overpriced memberships, and terrible customer service, it’s clear they’re only interested in taking your money. There are plenty of other gyms in the area that offer much better value and actually care about their members. Don’t make the mistake I did.

If I could rate 0 I would!!! Took my kids to the trunk or treat event today and my 5 year old daughter needed to use the bathroom I go to take inside hype for her to use it mind you they are the ones throwing this event! I went in asking where the bathroom was the guy at the front desk asked me if I was a member I told him no he then told me the bathroom is for members only. I told him my daughter is 5 years old what child can handle holding them selves to use the bathroom he told me I need to ask Ali faraj!!! because he didn’t want anyone from public using the bathroom unless they were a member mind you my daughter was literally holding herself about to pee her pants he told me to go ask ALI FARAJ!!!
I went outside to find him nowhere to be found someone did eventually find him and came up to me and asked me what I wanted. I told him that my daughter needed to use the bathroom. She’s five years old. She can’t handle holding herself mind you they are the one throwing the events and they don’t have enough staff supposedly to clean up the bathrooms it took OVER 5 minutes until they allowed me to take her to the bathroom almost about to pee her self . As I was leaving at the end of the night, people in and out of hype, taking their kids to the bathroom without having a problem or asking if they could use the bathroom, but it took them five minutes for my daughter holding herself to use the bathroom to allow her to go in and use the bathroom. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL OF YOU ALI FARAJ!!!

I love my neighborhood gym! I love all the different programs that are offered to all age groups. This sometimes can be a downfall in regards to parking. I do wish the women’s area was bigger and there was more floor space to do workouts. I love that we now have the upgraded locker room. I do feel as though it does not stay clean enough. Often having to find the “most clean” restroom. I personally do not want to see open unused lockers, hair, tissue and hygiene products left behind from others. This is really a great facility and I hope the up keep keeps it running for a very long time!

I felt good going here years ago, but after restoring my membership through a health fitness plan, I went in to establish that and discuss in-person. However, the lady at the front, respectively, seemed offended, or such, by my presence or me and I didn't even know her. We all have issues and bad days, but if you lack making a customer feel comfortable, that will not leave the best impression. Regardless, after having issues with my plan that had nothing to do with HYPE, I had to cancel it (for now) and sent an email or emails asking and stating my situation. I received No response for, I believe, months. It was Only after resending the email recently that, by name, LEON V helped resolve my situation (as far as I can tell). He made me feel comfortable and said he'd take care of the cancelation. My 4/5 rating is because of him. I can't give 5 stars due to the other situations. Overall, however, you can find good people and workers that can take care of your needs there. Courts were nice and gym was good. It has much of what one would need. Thank you Leon!

First, the women’s section often had an unpleasant smell that made it difficult to stay and complete my workouts. This issue continued despite being reported multiple times. Additionally, when signing up, we weren’t informed that it was a 12-month contract. We were supposed to somehow know that the Father’s Day special came with a 12 month contract, but no one told us, I specifically asked multiple staff members on two separate occasions if there was a cancellation fee. I was assured each time that there wasn’t. However, now I am being charged $280 to cancel, and my sister is facing the same fee. My friend, who signed up at the same time, is being charged $250, which is inconsistent and unfair. It feels like the gym is trying to take advantage of us financially, and this dishonest practice is unacceptable.

Hype Athletics , there’s nothing hype about this place but their outrageous fees. Hype athletics has a pattern of misleading its members with ever-changing policies and exorbitant fees. They repeatedly altered their fee structure, leaving members confused and frustrated. Moreover, they have resorted to charging members for improvements made to the gym, despite these enhancements being advertised as benefits of membership.

Furthermore, the square footage of the gym has been significantly reduced, yet they continue to increase charges without justification. This blatant disregard for the well-being of their members is unacceptable.

What’s more concerning is their practice of charging additional fees for anticipated future remodels. Not only is this unethical, but it may also be illegal. I intend to report these deceptive business practices to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the appropriate state authorities.

I urge anyone considering joining Hype Athletics to think twice. Their focus on extracting fees at the expense of member satisfaction is evident.It’s nothing but fees, fees, fees, and deceitful practices.

My 6 year old son just completed his first season of basketball. We really enjoyed the practices and games, very competitive and it’s great to see the families get involved. All of the coaches were very supportive and helpful with my son’s development.

I came to hype a while ago and unfortunately stopped going which left me with a balance, I was embarrassed to go after that tried many other gyms and found myself coming back to hype there hours, there supplies, the clean gym everything is just a package deal there. I came in and talked to Leon (sorry if I misspelled) he helped me out and was so kind and gained my confidence by a lot I wasn’t embarrassed to come and actually face the issue I had which was my over due balance he was so nice, kind and was a huge help this is simply a review to who ever wants to try this gym out or the other activities they have I highly recommend it me and my family come to this gym and so far no gym has gotten the chance to replace it & I don’t think they would be a great gym like this.

The way that when I called the front desk to ask when my annual membership would end because I didn't want to continue paying the monthly fee. I was told it would it would end in February, and then the payments continued through April. When I called in, they told me I had to come in person to cancel my membership. When I asked the billing department for a refund for the months of
March and April, he said there was nothing he can do for me even though I wasn’t given the full information when I inquired about it. They wouldn’t let us in even with a membership and the employee was very passive aggressive and rude. Also I’ve seen many workers let in friends of theirs without memberships. Lastly they’ve never cleaned their courts or gyms, I constantly slip over the dust on the courts. I almost forgot to include the fact that they have guest passes on their website and when we asked to use a guest pass they said they don’t do them!

Both the member and guest were above the age of 18 and we were still refused.a guest pass. Also when we purchased the membership we were never told that there would be an age limit to the guest pass, and many employees have told us that don’t do guest passes even though we were told the membership comes with guest passes.

They don’t take concerns about racism seriously, instead they gaslight and invalidate their black members rather than taking accountability and apologizing. They’re overpriced and unprofessional, go to another gym. If you’re looking for a professional women’s only gym try powerhouse or athletica. don’t give this place your money, they won’t respect you

The customer service was amazing today! Ali, the manager, stopped what he was doing to help my son find an item that was lost. Thank goodness he found it, but many establishments would have told him to take the L and the manager would have kept doing whatever else he was doing. My son and I want to say “Thank you Ali, and thank you Hype for having excellent customer care and putting members first!”

If I could give zero stars I would. The staff does not take racial slurs and bullying seriously. Especially when it’s African Americans. Instead of canceling or suspending the membership’s of racist people they suspended victims of bullying. Which led to suspending the racist for A WEEK. Then claimed we’re playing the victim. I have never experienced a more unprofessional facility.

Unfortunately I have to say this place is not African American friendly at all, if you are of any other race that’s not Arab I would stay away from this establishment. There are no regulations for children who seem to run the place more than the actual staff, so be prepared to hear loud,un behaved kids run around saying racial slurs and not even have a membership… you pay all this money just to have others just hanging around for free because again they don’t have strict enough guidelines when it comes to these things. To put the cherry on top if any kind of incident happens with you were you want action to be done and someone to be held accountable that simply will not happen you will be blown off and not taken seriously so if you plan on bringing your kids be prepared for the bullying because it’s outrageous!

It became about your organization when your organization decided to do nothing about the situation, seeing how you again blame the victim shows your true colors alone, you fail to take responsibility and care more about protecting racist. Also this wasn’t a bad experience with just 1 child this was a group of children that has happened more than once so again you as an organization tolerate racism and to say Im being discriminatory and hurtful when not only my family but another were victims of discrimination by the lack of action of your organization is disgusting. You’d think in 2023 I as an African American wouldn’t have to question my families well being in certain establishments or deal with ignorance like this but I guess hype athletic is not ready to start holding people accountable and protecting members from blatant hate speech… and just from your unprofessional/insensitive comment I will not be back to speak with anyone.

Used to love this gym until one of your workers kept making excuses that I’m not aloud on the indoor track for example 1 day he said I’m not aloud with a coach the next day he said I’m not aloud because there are people running then he made an excuse that it’s to busy like if I’m paying 30 dollars a month I would at least like to use the stuff I payed for especially when the basketball Courts are full and I need to find something else to do other then the gym

I'm not sure how long I've been going to this gym. Excellent programs and classes. My daughter enjoys it. It's also close to our house. The staff is friendly, with special mention going to Brian and Leon, who are both friendly and professional. I only wish they could open at 4 or 5 a.m., which would be very convenient for working people.

Hype athletics is a very nice place, has nice people and very good equipment both in the gym and the basketball courts which have been up to date each year, I recommend it to anyone that likes going to the gym for weight lifting or to play basketball
