This LA Fitness is absolutely disgusting and completely neglected. The bathrooms are filthy, the locks on the stalls are all broken, and I have never once seen anyone cleaning them. The bathrooms actually smell like sewage.

Almost every other machine has a “scheduled for service” sign that’s been hanging there for weeks, sometimes months. Nothing ever gets repaired. It’s a multimillion dollar company, and they can’t even fix basic equipment or keep their facilities clean? Come on.

It’s honestly embarrassing how run-down this place has become.

This is the dirtiest gym I have ever seen. I’ve been coming here for years and recently with all the new employees this place has really fell apart. No such thing as hygiene in this club. From the equipment to the locker room. You can see piles of dust and sweat crud all over the cardio machines, introducing health hazards. The water cups are full of old gum and hair stains, truly a filthy mess. The cable machines are all rusted and beaten up, another huge risk hazard. The dumbbell rack is half missing ALL the time because they allow teenagers in this place who have no respect for anyone else, to make things worse the employees here don’t reinforce rules. The sauna is disgusting and full of mold underneath the benches, another health code violation. The locker room is filthy and smells like weed all the time, don’t even try to take your gym bag and place it in any locker because you WILL take something home with you. Lockers are full of dirt and more crud since they have 0 sanitation process to clean it up. I don’t even know how this place has not been shut down for health code violations and health concerns. The employees here are rude. Do yourself a favor Find another local gym their are plenty of nice ones for the price.

First timer for the personal trainer, tread mill, and Zumba class workout was an unsettling experience with mixed thoughts. The front desk receptionist greeting was pleasant. Apparently the trainer was not available due to a car accident (God bless her), which would have been nice to know before I arrived. I went to the treadmill and couldn't get it to come on. When the associate promptly came to assist, he noticed that there were THREE mills not functioning including the one I was on. Luckily, there was another one available for me to begin my workout. Next, I joined the zumba class with Claire. She was friendly and led her class of 2 students with high energy and a smile. However, the room was downright filthy! The mirrors and windows were not clean and the floor had dust balls the size of "haystacks"! My allergies could not endure. Sneezing multiple times throughout the workout does not make for a pleasant experience. Cleanliness is not this gym's priority and is not acceptable!

Would not be going to this Gym no more! Let me explain to you in depth my reasoning. First off you rarely and I mean rarely see staff around cleaning the gym they are just upfront worried about getting people memberships and convincing them to sign up. Second thing you have people breaking into the lockers and even stealing items which many people are suspecting the guy custodian that cleans or obviously people that go to the gym. Afternoon staff on weekend are very rude. Well all staff isn’t really nice here. Equipments are very old and rusty compared to other locations so keep that in mind. The mats near the dumbbells absolutely stink.

There’s also always random gym equipment everywhere but where they are supposed to be. I think if staff was more on their job monitoring / getting on people for slamming weights & not putting them back, things could change. All of the equipment, locker rooms, bathrooms, are ALL filthy. All the time. There are layers of grime on all the equipment, but is especially notable on every treadmill. Things like nicotine patches and bandaids remain in locker rooms and showers for weeks -- on lockers /walls /floors. It's seriously gross. Skyler was kind, helpful, and clearly doing their best in a place that looks and feels like it’s been abandoned by management and respect alike.

This LA Fitness is disgusting. Machines are covered in grime. Cupholders have moldy sludge and who-knows-what crusted at the bottom. The wipe stations? Barely a few scattered around the gym, and surprise, no one’s using them. I watched people sweat all over benches, walk away, and go on like it’s normal. Spoiler alert: it’s not.

The dumbbell racks are a complete joke, weights thrown everywhere, nothing in order, like toddlers cleaned up blindfolded. No staff addressing it, no signs reminding guests to clean up after themselves, no accountability. It’s not just poor maintenance, it’s flat out unsafe and unhygienic.

And let’s talk to the guests real quick:
You are grown adults in a shared space. Re-rack your weights. Wipe your equipment. Stop treating the gym like your personal garbage dump. This kind of mess reflects on everyone, not just the staff.

The condition of this gym is not just embarrassing, it’s disrespectful to members who actually care about their health and the environment they work out in.

I had a 3 day guest pass to the gym I wanted to use to go workout with some buddies and maybe play some basketball and when I presented my guest pass to the lady working she said come sit down with me, i said ok and she immediatly started pushing a membership I was like I'm looking to check the gym out I have a membership outside of this gym and she kept saying ok but 40 a month this and that I can get you in and I repeated my self and she said ok well you have to pay 20 to play basketball with your friends so i said ok whatever and paid the 20, please do not be a predatory gym and force memberships and fake guest passes on people. Super nasty pool/ jacuzzi area mold tearin off wallpaper. 4/13 ellipticals out of order, weight pins to hold lbs missing on at lease 50% of equipment you have to take from one mechine to another back an forth. It's hard to find a good time slot in this gym. There is no shortage of young people who just hang out in the freeway area. One person will be doing bench presses, and six other kids will just be hanging out around them, sitting on all the machines. They leave their gym bags on the floor of the free waight area instead of in the lockers. The employees don't seem to care. This reminds me, I need to cancel my membership to this gym.

I received a guest pass from my brother and actually considered going to workout. there. However, after reading the reviews I think I will pass. I was going to get a personal trainer but I think I will follow my gut and drive 20 minutes to the gym I already belong to DHRC. The place is just down right dirty as hell. I've gone to management twice about the cleanliness and the female manager actually admitted to being aware and stated she was looking for new staff. That was months ago and it's still nasty as heck in there. If you're looking for a clean gym, skip this one. The staff doesn't make sure weights and equipment are put back in the appropriate area so its very normal to go looking for dumbbells or weights and be unable to find them. The showers are nasty with visible mold. The glass walls that enclose the pools are disgusting with brown gunk dried all over them. Hot tub has been broke since Ive been a member years ago. Over the summer the pool was closed for months. Not the best option if you're looking for a luxury gym experience.

Worst La Fitness I've ever been to. Half the machines are out of service and the ones that do work have something wrong with them in one way or another. Broken cup holders, loose belts on treadmill....
Locker rooms are absolutely FILTHY, sauna is never above 140 degrees. Most soap dispensers in showers are missing and the ones that are there guaranteed they'll be empty.

The gym feels generally disorganized, with equipment scattered around. The staff is friendly, but they don’t seem particularly attentive to keeping things in order. The layout of the gym is probably the biggest drawback—machines are placed haphazardly, making it difficult to navigate. If you're hoping to use a cable machine, think twice. They often lack attachments, and the few they do have seem to vanish across the gym. The cable machines themselves are also spaced too far apart, which only adds to the problem.

I experienced unprofessional behavior when I went to the center to sign up for LA fitness membership in Allen Park Michigan today.

I was told by the front desk (Dakota) that Skylar (the fitness director ) was in a session

I decided to wait as he texted her to ask how much longer she would be. Come to find out she had finished her session as I approached the front desk again as she was having a conversation with friends/coworkers (not sure which one).

As she casually told Dakota to take her code and assist me. He did mention that she was the only who could sign me up because he didn’t have access to do so.

She did not find it necessary to come
and address me herself.

She just continued to talk to her friends and did tell Dakota she was leaving.

I will make sure I never come to this location again and find one that have time for potential clients.

I can confidently say with absolutely no exaggeration this is non objectively one of the dirtiest, poorly ran gyms in all of Michigan and I truly 100% believe that. bought a $40 membership to this gym because it was close to me… I now have to regularly drive to locations 25 minutes away because there is CONSTANTLY something broken here. Good luck finding a day where the sauna, hot tub and your go to gym equipment are all working on the same day. Either the hot tub is down, the sauna is no working or you are being met with broken equipment over and over again. This place being pushed as a “premium” gym is a joke. There is currently a sign on the hot tub saying “broken until further notice” and when you ask the employees about an eta on the repair they literally tell you that they have no idea and your guess is as good as there’s.

first time I attended,with free 3 day pass . they Treat me was very bad. They told me to wait for someone who he is late to his job. I waited for nearly an hour and this person did not show up. They end up telling me we don’t know when will he showing up . Do I want to wait or leave and came back later. What a waste of time for one hour waiting and losing a customer who was happy to join them after using the three day pass .

There are great trainers and the gym is very clean. I recently switched from Planet Fitness and I am happy with my switch. Ryan was extremely helpful. Justin is one of the best trainers I have ever worked with. He is very knowledgeable and helped me with anything I needed.

I’ve joined LA Fitness a few months ago and I had a free personal training session with Justin he helped see where I was physically and is trying to help me reach my goals I signed to for sessions with a personal trainer named Nick Becker is awesome he is helping learn the fundamentals of making my own workout routine and how to find the correct form so I can safely complete my sets and push myself excited to get back on track and see the progress I can make

Nik was very helpful, he is very knowledgeable about the body as far as weight training, muscle reaction to strength training, and so much more, he is very motivational in a firm way but not mean, he encouraged my husband and I to keep pushing, I thank God for the Allen Park LA Fitness Center from the front desk to Justin the Training Manager to Nik our Personal Trainer.

I love coming to this facility and the staff that works there are fantastic. The manager, Justin, is particularly amazing. He is always very friendly, greeting me at the door and takes time out of his day to answer any questions I have. It really feels like a family here and the atmosphere is supportive and welcoming. I have been an LA Fitness member for over 15 years, I made the mistake of telling my father to join up as well. I usually go to the location in Livonia because it’s more convenient and cleaner than this location, but I had no issues recommending this location to my father since I have had minimal issues with LA locations nationwide overall. Little did I expect the level of rudeness and disrespect of the staff (particularly a gentleman named Justin) when he went to sign up on his own. My father is a respected attorney and has been practicing law at the federal level for over 30 years, and this guy sat there and accused my father of not being able to fill out a form?? my father is a polite older man who tried to de-escalate the situation but was told to go contact corporate if he had a complaint in how he was treated. Clearly this location is mismanaged if the staff is this out-of-control and disrespectful (with confidence!!) to people, in addition to the ongoing cleanliness issues. If you plan to consider LA fitness, I suggest other locations.

I been complaining about this gym for a month. Is very dirty and the machines are plain gross It looks like they haven't been clean and disinfect in years the women's bathroom is plain disgusting. It is a nice facility with a great potential sadly they only check the trash cans other than that they don't clean and disinfect anything.

This facility has gone completely downhill. Their pools been closed for almost 2 weeks and they can’t tell anybody when it’ll be open. The machines are so filthy that it’s a ringworm lawsuit waiting to happen. The only thing this gym offered extra was the pool and now they don’t even know when it’ll be open.

LA fitness located in Allen Park is not bad, it had what you need to do work out. But the lockers and locker room are filthy and need to be taken care of. In addition to this, the sauna is really need to be cleaned, and also the sauna's room temperature is not that hot and sometimes it feels like it's turned off.

So yesterday's Visit was a very Pleasant Experience for me and my daughter, just simply Amazed at everything. I was given a tour from a Lady named Ms. Paula and boy did she know her way around the gym, her hospitality was tremendous throughout our tour and explaining how different memberships works I felt after we left she needed a bonus or raised with how well the day went working out there. I'm very pleased to have came Thanks Paula.

"Where do I even begin? Joining this membership was a colossal mistake. First off, the so-called 'benefits' they tout are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. The kids club they had shut down within a week, we didn't even get to use it. Customer service? Ha! More like customer disservice. Manager was rude and won't refund the money we paid for two months in advance. It was like talking to a brick wall – unhelpful and utterly frustrating.

When we asked to talk to supervisor Laila said no one above her but after insisting she gave me a number and we called and they refunded us.

Cleanliness is something else just read previous reviews.

They advertise for three days free trail thing, but when we went in, they wanted to charge us $20 for the entrance (which sucks! They were using some persuasive techniques to make you become their membership without not respecting of customers’ autonomy). Overall, the gym inside is pretty nice but their service is awful (because we feel like they’re forcing us to pay them or they even require a good review on their website-which’s kinda like forcing people and not respecting their customers’ freedom)

Place was filthy. Weights were all over the floor. I had to leave due to trip hazards. A culture of filth. There was one man trying to clean but obviously he couldn't keep up. Some members should have their memberships revoked.

I let them know a few times that they need to clean the entire facility. The only clean area in the entire facility is the smoothie shop. THIS LOCATION NEED A DEEP CLEANING ON AND IN EVERYTHING, THE AIR QUALITY SUCK. It’s memberships I have that’s cheaper and cleaner.
