This is the BEST gym!!! We are so sad to hear that this is permanently closing. It is well managed, very clean and the staff is always kind and friendly. The other LA’s in our area are not as good and it’s disappointing to see our community losing this facility. It’s a breath of fresh air compared to the over crowded gyms nearby. We will miss this!

Similar to other issues, someone opened my locker and stole my credit cards without busting the lock. Filed a police report. Called the management and let them know they should raise awareness by putting up flyers and notices to the other patrons that they should use premium locks because the $10 locks won't do it at this establishment. No one really cared and I haven't seen any flyers put up.

May of 2024 I decided I needed to begin a fitness journey for better health. My experience at first was awful due to the awful communication with the personal training director at the 26 mile location. THE BEST thing to happen there was meeting my trainer Adelina and when we switched to the 16 and van dyke location things became so much better. Adelina pushed me to my limits and was so understanding. I saw results with seeing her only once a week. She made me fall in love with being in the gym. Shes super nice. Informative. A GREAT LISTENER and overall good person! I recommend if you are looking to get fit and have fun doing It. YOU NEED ADELINA!

Soon after I got home I was no longer impressed.
We got home. I wrote the below review. I thought I found my gym . Suddenly I started receiving text alerts on my credit cards. My husband checked his wallet and sure enough someone stole his credit cards and money. They left the wallet in his pants pocket and he never suspected anything. Who ever stole the credit cards went to the Auburn Hills Best Buy and started charging away. Yes we had bought brand new locks and the locker was locked. Somehow they unlocked it, stole from his wallet, return the wallet in his pants pocket and relocked the locker. This was our first time here and we signed up. I no longer felt safe there. They said they understood and we could cancel. However we had to talk to the OM . And he was not going to be available until the next day after 1pm.
We went there at 2 and he was not there and they wouldn't be able to help us cancel our membership They took our number and promised he would call us. Well he never called. After several days of calling my husband finally got a hold of Jeff. He told him he can't cancel our membership
So now we are members of a gym we do not feel safe in .
We did make a police report. They told us that this happens quite often and we are lucky they didn't steal our car. They really can't do anything for us since they don't have any security cameras in there.
Be careful in this place. Nobody cares about you and your safety. They said they did but nobody will help you.
Locks don't matter. The crooks can unlock them instantly.
I will say it was the cleanest gym out of all the gyms we looked at. I'm kinda sad. I was looking forward to the lap pool.

I've moved recently and here has been my experience trying to cancel my membership here.

First, I called trying to cancel. Nope, not allowed. They will make you physically come into the gym or snail mail some kind of official form in order to cancel a service you are paying them for.

Next, I tried driving a half hour to the gym to try to cancel in person. It turns out their operations manager is the only person who can cancel my membership for me, and they only work here 9am-5pm on weekdays. This was not mentioned to me on the phone.

So now I guess I will have to take time off work just to drive another hour both ways to cancel my own gym membership.

Needless to say this will be the last time I go to an LA Fitness.

EDIT: I came in another time trying to cancel, and it was at 1pm on a Friday - the "cancellation manager" should be here, but he's not. So again another wasted trip out here just trying to cancel my membership.

I’ve been going here for maybe 9 months or so and signed up via my insurance, so I didn’t have to deal with contracts or the sales staff. The gym itself is well equipped and I’ve seen some machines get serviced and repaired when they break. However cleanliness has declined significantly over the last few months. The locker room and bathroom floors are disgusting. Shower curtains are growing mold/mildew. And the squat rack floors are never cleaned or swept out. I’ve been watching the same dust bunny grow at my preferred squat rack month after month. I feel like a fool showering here. It’s a pity because I used to see a very friendly custodian taking good care of these spaces but this gym seems to have cut labor down to a skeleton crew.

Place is a scam!!!!! Never get a “promotion” they lie and say you have one thing then say they have to process the next day then u get lost privileges from a regular membership. Then when we went in to question it the guy already knew exactly what we were coming for like he does it a lot! Then he has the audacity to say he never lies & he never told us we have guest privileges but he most definitely did because he told us & my son was excited that he could bring his dad & even tried to get his sister to go with him. Now if we weren’t told he had guest privileges he would never have even know that was a thing! So now this guy says we can pay $23 more a month for what comes with the regular non “promotion” 😡 that guy and this place is a SCAM!!!

This location has been open for less than 2 years. The showers stall have not been cleaned for at least 2 months. There is mold growing in the stalls and under all the sinks. Every single sink in the womens locker/restroom leaks. For as much as the company charges for it memberships, I would expect clean facilities.

Clean workout areas with lots of training options. See Darius if you want professional help for your routine. We are using Jill who is patient with our senior approach to working out. We were set up with a routine to follow. So helpful.
Pool at this location.
Peak times are late afternoon. Only issue we had was signing up through Silver Sneakers but it was resolved. Personal trainers are additional fees but well worth it.

Be careful when you sign up over here. There was a manager by the name Brett Geml told us he would initiate refund x and add x on our contract. Little did we know, he signed a fake a contract before us, we ended up getting nothing we were promised. And now he's "left" this LA Fitness. The front desk and new manager don't care, said "we can't do anything about it since he's gone". Absolute snake!

I was so excited to finally start attending this gym, heard great things. Showed up and no one was working. There was one lady, clearly upset, said she’s the only worker who has shown up all weekend, and she was like “sorry can’t accept any new members no one works here right now that can do that.” She said it’s an ongoing problem at this location. For the equipment type, i would give this 5 stars. For the age of the dumbells, i would give it a 2 star rating. Onlt good thing about the dumbells is that it ranges to 125 lbs. However, the benches suck and the angled ones/ inclined are not easy to work with or even decline them to full flat to use as a normal bench.

I recently moved around the area and thought A gym membership would be perfect at this location because it is close to me. I found out they were greedy. My older brother had a membership and I was under a guest pass with him and one day I went to the gym by myself but they didn't let me in, they said I had to get my older brother. Not only that, I kept getting spam calls from them forcing me to buy a membership. I get that they are trying to get sales but when a person says no that should be the final decision. Avoid this location I recommend the Troy location.

This place is great. It's relatively new so all of the equipment is in good/new condition. It's kept very clean. It's not the biggest LA Fitness, which is perfectly fine, but still has all the cardio and strength training, classes, pool, personal trainers (I'm working with Jill, she's awesome), etc. I highly recommend this location, unless you want a basketball court.

I don’t know where to start, moved down the street thought it would be perfect location haven’t been to LA in over a year so I filled out a 3 day trial pass. When I got there Robert Wilson gave me a tour then made me sit with him for over a half hour which consisted of a tour and 30 minutes of him begging me to join non stop I said ide really like to workout first and try it out he the. Said I couldn’t use a guest pass and I had to sign up I told him no ide like to use the guest pass on my phone and he kicked me out garbage service terrible person action should be taken on this. Have been going here for a year and not had any issues. Today I knocked my water over on a squat rack and wanted to clean it up. Asked the 2 guys at the front door and was told no we don't have anything to clean that up. Go get paper towel. Seems lazy to me I know you have a whole cart of cleaning things with a mop. Big. What I love most, there’s 2 smith machines, 5 squat racks, and 4 duel cable machines. That is what people want, lots of those things. Plus plenty of benches by the dumbbells. Maybe 10 or 1 2 of them. It’s never over crowded.

I appreciate the staffs house keeping they do such a great job. This is the cleanest LA fitness in the area and I have been to a lot of them. The ladies are vacuuming the lockers. I appreciate that.

Please note to manager, I’ve spoke to someone at the desk but nothing seems to have changed, the parking lot has a lot of trash in it. Needs attention. Also suggested putting a trash can outside. Maybe a reason for the trashed parking lot. 🚮

Horrible experience.

I walked in to sign up (with a subscription paid for by my workplace) and met with the sales rep. Once my profile was started, he tried signing me up for personal training sessions which I declined several times. He quoted a price of $60 sessions… I said no, because it’s not something I’m looking for right now. Then gets into, what I can cut from my budget to make it “affordable”… which I again, declined. For my last and final declining response, he flipped like a switch in facial expression and body language. He began to be very short and said “well you’re signed up and all set”… that’s it. I got no tour, no info on how to access the gym etc. It went from happy to sell, to being able to clearly see the displeasure and annoyance with me, for not being interested in add ons at their gym. I may have considered and came back at a later time, but was left with such a bad taste after the odd interaction. I killed it with kindness as I did the entirety of our conversation but it was very cut and dry on his end after I said no to the urgent requests at getting a personal trainer.

I understand everyone has a job, but the poor interaction from the sales rep made me HAPPY I did not spend my money with him or within this company because this was a terrible representation. I can’t comment on the facility, because more time was spent coercing me to get a personal training than knowing what amenities were available to me (before the upsell)

This is a great gym, a lot of workout equipment so you don't have to wait to use them and it's spacious enough to not be packed like other local gyms. The pool is clean and heated which is nice, with a bunch of showers in the locker rooms. There's always a swimming lane open and I'm often the only person in the pool when I go, but I also go earlier in the day. The staff is also really nice and ready to answer questions.
I do wish LA Fitness would bring back Kid's Klub, it's not just this location since they haven't had it since they opened earlier this year but all the nearby locations that have gotten rid of it. I know so many people that would purchase a membership if Kid's Klub was still an option at all LA Fitness locations.

The guys selling you on personal trainers are really pushy and fail to mention that the personal trainer contracts a year minimum.

The guy selling the program to me made me feel like I was being roped into a cult, and regrettably, I signed up. I did the personal trainer program for 2 months, and then the trainer basically said to come back after over a month. Because of this, I wanted to have the next month off until I reached that point the trainer mentioned. But when I went to try and end the program, Corporate told me that I had to pay half of the remaining contract to break it early, for a total of twelve hundred dollars.

Paying $1200 because their staff lied to me? What a scam!

As an avid gym hopper, this is probably one of the cleanest gyms that I've been to. It might be likely that it's fairly new, but all the machines are in working order, I didn't see a single frayed cable, or a single ripped bench.

Pros: this particular location does not have a basketball court or a sauna.

Cons: I honestly did not see any.

I happened to stop by this location on a guest pass, just to see what it might be like to work out there. The front desk employees were nice, and weren't pushy about a membership or giving me a grand tour (which I never want). The general manager gave me a call to see how I was enjoying the facility, he was very professional, not pushy, and enjoyable to talk to.

Reviews on this place are ridiculous, complaining about things that people cant control, critique the things that they have not what they literally cant add even if they wanted to.

Best LA fitness I have been to so far and by far the cleanest, machines are great. Employees always reracking the weights if they arent.
Switched from troy LA to here and do not regret my decision, only thing bad was they didnt have Wifi for the longest time but they finally did a couple weeks ago.

I think as a pro gymnasts and being in sports for 50 years the temperature on a gym should be a little bit higher offense should be using directly different position except that all facilities are very clean looks fresh and nice. Telephone companies like T-Mobile and ATT have very poor reception being in a locker room you not able to call and it's very hard to get any reception on the gym

This place was built this year and while they do not have a hot tub, sauna or steam room like other locations (signature or not) they do have the best trainers in town! The equipment is clean and new, and they offer new and enhanced exercise machines where other LA Fitness locations do not have! I would highly recommend this place, people working out kind their own business and don’t stare, they clean up after themselves and keep the gym in a clean and friendly environment.
