I’ve been a paying member at this gym, but after what happened to me on September 4th 2025 at around 2pm, I will never feel safe or respected here again.
After a workout with my boyfriend, I went into the women’s locker room where an older female member approached me and asked about me and my boyfriends nationality. When I told her my ethnicity, and he is Palestinian, she immediately became hostile and started making racist and hateful comments.
She body-shamed him, insulted his appearance, criticized his training, called him “arrogant,” and then said, with anger, “I hate him even more now because he’s Palestinian.”
This was blatant harassment, racism, xenophobia, and completely unacceptable behavior inside a gym.
My boyfriend and I reported it right away. A manager named Mathew was initially supportive and said her membership would be revoked immediately. But when she walked out, no one confronted her, and suddenly there was “a process” and nothing happened. So he lied to us.
The general manager on duty, Ariana, handled everything incredibly poorly. She never acknowledged us, never apologized, never offered support, and showed zero compassion. When my boyfriend asked her why she hadn’t said a word to us, she responded, “From an operation standpoint, I don’t handle this kind of stuff,” and then asked him, “Do you want me to cancel your membership?” Instead of addressing a serious harassment issue, she pushed a paying member out the door.
It gets worse
I emailed corporate immediately afterward. Someone from corporate actually called me and said they would revoke the woman’s membership — but I never heard back again. I called the gym multiple times afterward to follow up, and each time they told me, “corporate is working on it,” but nobody ever contacted me or confirmed that any action was taken. My boyfriend and his entire family cancelled and I’m strongly considering it. I already switched locations after that day.
This gym has a serious problem with how it handles discrimination, harassment, and member safety. The lack of follow-through from both local management and corporate is extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
I would not recommend this gym to anyone until they take accountability and fix their approach to member safety, respect, and discrimination.

On September 4th 2025 around 2pm my girlfriend was racially harassed by a random older woman when I went to the sauna. This person decided to tell my girlfriend that I was doing all my workouts wrong (I'm a college educated exercise scientist who's trained hundreds of people and this lady was at least 75) then she body shamed me to my girlfriend stating that my stomach was "too big" and then asked my girlfriend what my ethnicity is. Upon telling the lady that I'm Palestinian the woman said "I hate him even more now because I hate Palestinians". Also why is she following us for hours and stalking us during our workouts? Very disturbing. Upon my exit from the sauna I noticed my gf was shook and asked her what's wrong. She described the incident in its entirety and I told her we should report it to the front desk. Upon reporting it to Matthew D. and Arri C. they showed ZERO concern, told us it's "out of their hands" and said they'd report it to corporate to which they NEVER DID! I asked Arri if she even cared about the harassment, hate, and overall attack we experienced and she said "it's not my department" (even though she's the GM!) then she asks me why we are still there even though we felt the situation wasn't resolved. She then asks me in a cold and blunt manner if I'd like to "cancel my membership". I guess her solution to hate, harassment, and racism is to cancel the victims membership. I immediately canceled my membership and my entire families memberships. I've never been to an LA fitness since and will never step foot in one again. Oh, and my gf has been trying to contact corporate for almost 3 months since it happened and they are blowing her off. To LA Fitness: take a look at all of the similar reviews stating racism, harassment, abuse, and assaults and ask yourself is Arri C really the best fit for a GM at your gym? I think you know the answer to that question. Never again.

Subject: Urgent: Assault Incident at LA Fitness on November 6, 2025
Dear LA Fitness Corporate Team,
I am writing to formally report a disturbing incident that occurred at your Troy-Big Beaver facility on November 6, 2025, between 5:10 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
Incident Summary
Upon entering the gym around 5:10 p.m., I followed my normal routine: a short session in the sauna, followed by approximately 11 minutes on the treadmill. Due to complications with my knee (which was braced), I moved to the training area to perform rehabilitation exercises prescribed by my physical therapist.
During this time, an unknown male member – a tall white male with medium-length shaggy hair – spoke loudly to me after I finished performing wall squats with a stability ball and was putting the ball back. While on the ropes, he commented, “That’s an underutilized move.” I replied briefly, and we both moved on.
After my dead bugs, I then located a 6-lb medicine ball to perform pelvic thrusts for knee rehabilitation.
As I lay on my back preparing to begin, medicine ball in between my knees/thighs in a very vulnerable position, this same man suddenly appeared beside me looming over me—uninvited—and snatched the medicine ball from between my bent knees, saying he wanted to show me a “better move for my abs.”
This frightened me. I was on my back on the mat, listening to music, when all of a sudden a strange male comes, leans over and grabs something from between my legs! And I can only assume this man was watching me do my dead bug exercises to inquire about a “better” ab exercise. Plus, where he grabbed this ball was incredibly close to my private area for him to be venturing without consent.
Despite me saying, “No, I’m not doing those types of—,” he cut me off, stated that the ball was “too light,” and without consent dropped it on my stomach. This knocked the wind out of me. Shocked, I again told him “No, I’m not trying to do that,” attempting to explain that I was rehabbing my knee – not doing ab workouts. Before I could finish, he again said, “Now you’re prepared, so when it happens again,” and dropped the ball a second time onto my stomach, once again knocking the wind out of me, to apparently show me this awesome ab move.
While yes, my abs clenched – great workout? – at this point, I froze/fawned – my typical trauma response – and could only say again that I was not doing that exercise. He replied “OK, OK,” and walked away. I was left stunned, tense, and violated. This man touched equipment between my legs, ignored my verbal refusal, and struck me twice in the abdomen without consent. To top it off, I did not hear him coming up to me as I had headphones in.
Immediate Action Taken
After leaving the gym around 6:10 p.m., I immediately called the facility and spoke with a woman who identified herself as the general manager. After explaining what happened and describing the individual, she told me she believed she knew who he was, that what happened was not OK, and that she would “talk to him.”
While I appreciate that acknowledgment, this response is completely unacceptable. This was not a misunderstanding or simple breach of etiquette – it was a physical assault.
Requested Action
I am requesting that the following steps be taken immediately:
1. A full incident investigation and review of security footage from the training area between 5:10–6:15 p.m. on November 6, 2025.
2. Immediate suspension and/or revocation of the offending member’s access pending investigation.
3. A written incident report shared with me documenting your findings and actions taken.
4. Notification to local law enforcement of the assault, as this individual poses a potential danger to other members. (What if I was pregnant? What if I have internal problems from a medicine ball being dropped on me?)
5. Confirmation that steps are being taken to ensure my safety and privacy at your facility.

3 people every single morning scream and literally moan as loud as they can through every workout. Even between sets they’re yelling. Impossible to concentrate during lifting of any high amount of weight. Also impossible to miss them idk why they let them do that

Arri is a fantastic manager and has made the membership process, from applying to downgrading my membership, run super smoothly. Very professional, yet down to earth. Gym is excellent, always clean, good pickup runs 3-4 days a week as well, a huge bonus for any gym but especially this one.

Showers are disgusting - large clumps of hair on the floors and blocking the drains. There is no cleaning service on Sunday. At least one paper towel holder in that area could help, giving people the option of removing the hair they left

The gym itself is fairly well-equipped and spacious — no complaints there. However, the experience is completely overshadowed by the behavior of one particular female staff member. Rather than politely informing members about closing time, she loudly announced over speakerphone that she would cancel memberships if people didn’t leave by 11 PM. That kind of hostile communication is uncalled for and reflects poorly on the facility. There’s a way to enforce rules without being aggressive. Management seriously needs to address staff training in customer interaction — it makes all the difference.

Decent gym in terms of equipment and space, but the staff — specifically one female employee — seriously ruins the experience. She went on speaker telling people she’d revoke their memberships if they didn’t leave by 11 PM. That’s not just unprofessional, it’s a straight-up verbal threat. There’s a big difference between enforcing rules and trying to intimidate paying members. Totally unnecessary attitude. Management needs to step in and train staff on how to communicate respectfully.

I like the Zumba class, but there is one teacher whose class is almost empty. I know exactly why we don’t like her class. She always puts on soft music. One day I asked her to raise the volume, but she didn’t. So I don’t go to her class anymore. We don’t feel the energy and happiness when the music is too low.

Let’s spend money on a new digital ad display, air hand driers so that paying members can sweat their butts off doing a 20 minute cardio session and have no way to wipe off. The ac has not functioned properly at this location for at least a month now but “we gotta have new digital ads!” They finally have someone to clean the gym but it seems like he just mops the main gym floors even though hand sanitation stations are empty, wipes nowhere to be found and machines are broken. The bathrooms constantly are out of soap and smells of piss. Hell, there’s been a used ZEN pouch in the urinal for at least a week. Oh, but again “WE NEED NEW DIGITAL AD TVs” which, by the way, already have parts falling off of them. I get that staff can only do so much due to how corporate operates, but someone needs to get back on the phone with corporate and demand action.
The manager needs to take pride in their location, but if the constant new staff is any indication of their management skills, I can see why nothing has been done to rectify the recurring issues with this gym.

This establishment, once a great place, has recently experienced significant decline. The air conditioning system is currently malfunctioning, resulting in excessive sweating among patrons during workouts. Additionally, the locker room and bathroom are consistently unhygienic. Furthermore, the frequency of serving hand soap and paper towels is extremely low. LaFitness, we urge you to address these issues promptly to restore the quality of your establishment.

Air conditioning has been broken for weeks, the second floor is downright sweltering, main floor isn’t much better. Free weights are literally never properly racked which means you get to hunt up and down the rack to find the weight you’re looking for. Wipes for equipment are frequently not refilled.

I’ve been using the LA Fitness in Troy, MI, and overall, it’s a solid gym with a wide range of amenities. The facility includes a large free weight area, plenty of cardio machines, a full basketball court, indoor pool, sauna, and group fitness classes like yoga and spin—all included with membership. The gym is usually clean and the equipment is in good condition, although during peak hours it can get crowded. Staff are generally helpful, though occasionally it feels like customer service could be more consistent. Parking is easy, and the location on Big Beaver Road is super convenient. It’s a great gym if you want variety and a full-service experience, but if you’re very particular about spotless cleanliness or top-tier service.

I got the membership for me and my two daughters for 50 dollars a month and I thought it was a good price.. but they didn’t tell me that in the first month they charge 198 dollars for the first and last month of the membership and after 10 days they charged other 119 dollars for annual fees.. additionally, after ten days they charged my monthly payment, which was 50 dollars.. so in the first month I paid around 400 dollars to start.. Nobody explained this to me, but it’s my fault because I signed the papers and trusted the person that created my membership.
So I started going to the gym but I realized that it’s a very dirty gym with dirty restrooms and old machines! Now I canceled my membership and I lost all this money!!

I wanted to freeze my account for few months.. I was told that I would not get charged and that the payments will resume once I unfreeze the account…. Hygiene should be #1 at a gym, but this place has black mold lol. Cleanliness is terrible. Lots of wear and tear on the machines, but that’s common with a high traffic gym - they should just fix more things as they break. Constant disorganized dumb bells, sauna was replaced by TREX or some sort of plastic wood which is not proper code for a sauna and burns people. Usually smells rancid in there, could use a cleaning. The staff is usually pretty chill, but the pressure sales tactics are pretty scummy. Advice to the manager, you should probably focus on cleaning the joint up over getting new members. Quality brings quantity long term.

They closed the other one in the area.. some of the machines don't have the proper pegs to hold the wait up.. a lot of the belts go bad and then are left for months. For half the price of lifetime fitness you get 1/3 the product. Goin in tomorrow to drop the membership and switch back. If you're not that serious about the gym this is a fine start.

Their free weight stack is embarrassing. Some dumbbells don't have two of the same size in the entire gym( only 1 70lb). Some have two of the same size, but they are different style (metal handle vs rubber handle)

I’ve been an LA Fitness member for 15 years attending facilities throughout southeast Michigan regularly. This location has a superb staff, they are friendly and work hard to make your experience positive.
That said, this is where gym equipment comes to die. You can rarely find 2 dumbbells of the same weight and same type, don’t even bother expecting any sort of ascending/descending racking logic. See pic, and this was taken in the middle of the day far from peak rush hours. One of the low row machines has been malfunctioning for over a year now, heavy resistance even when no weights are loaded.
The icing on the cake this week is water fountains that no longer function. I think that is a health code violation, but it certainly speaks to how run down it is here and the owner’s unwillingness to put any money back into the business. Go anywhere else, this is not a pleasant experience here.

I stopped in to check out the facilities with a good friend who is a member and has been for many years... I had some questions and was told I had to talk to a person named Robert Wilson, who turned out to be a real jerk. He was obnoxious and rude and kept interrupting me before I could even ask a question...I asked to talk to his manager and he lied said there was no manager there and to call corporate..He lied about his name (Dale) as well (other employees gave me his correct name).... I was going to sign up with my silver sneakers account and probably will only because I was told the jerk had turned in his two week notice. It's close and a nice facility and everybody else I met including the front desk person and other members were very nice except for the contemptible Robert Wilson.

I don’t appreciate somebody like Robert harassing innocent women into signing up for personal training. Multiple times the response was no. He then proceeded to ask personal questions and forced the individual into signing up for personal training sessions. EXTREMELY RUDE. I called and spoke with someone about canceling my membership that they said previously I would no longer be getting billed and they continued to bill. When I called the person at the front desk who said his name was “dale” hung up on me when I was trying to explain to him what happened and get assistance with canceling. When I go in the next day I tell the manager I want to cancel tell her why and she says casually , “oh. Is there anything we can do? We don’t have a Dale here” I told her “that was the name he gave me but I called at exactly 11:04 so you should know who that is by the time.” She didn’t even apologize. I had been going to La fitness for a long time. It’s not a lot of gyms around here but I will search high and low to never LA fitness my business again.

Horrible customer service/scam. I signed up for this gym, and I told them at the time of sign-up that I would only be in Michigan for two months. The lady who signed me up told me to "call" and they would cancel my membership if I moved to a location that is not near an LA Fitness. She also said they would not charge me for an extra month. I moved, and I called them on a Friday after 5 pm EST, and they said sorry, the lady who does our cancellations is not here, and I should call back on Monday. I told them that my renewal is over the weekend and the guy gave me the corporate office number in Irvine. I called them the same day before 5 pm PST and no one picked up to help me out. I emailed them and they still charged me for that month. I called in this month to cancel before my renewal. This time on a Monday and between 9-5 pm EST. A guy picked up the phone and said you must come in person to cancel membership. After I explained that I am not in Michigan, he gave me the corporate number. I explained to him that the lady who signed me up told me to call the gym and they would cancel my membership, but he hung up on me before I finished my sentence. I called corporate again. They said in order to cancel you either need to go an LA fitness in person or print out the cancellation form and mail it to our corporate office in Irvine. I told them that when I signed up they told me that I can cancel through the phone. He said as a one-time courtesy, he would cancel my membership. He did, but guess what they are going to charge me for one final month, even though when I signed up, I was promised otherwise.

Read this before you sign up. My husband and I signed up for a 3 day trial and went in today to try the place out. The sales rep ( I think his name was Ken) showed us around. After the tour, we went back to his desk where he explained the different plan options and the differences in the prices if we signed up today vs some day later. We said we didn’t want to sign up today, but wanted to try it out first for 3 days. He then asked for our ID’s before we went to the gym. After we checked out some machines and their pool we came back to grab our ID’s. We were actually thinking about signing but we didn’t want to rush in so we said we would be back another day. He asked for the specific date and time that we would be back, and we told him a tentative date and time. He then pulled out the membership contract and told us leave our credit card information and sign the paper so that the membership will start automatically at the end of the three days trial. We said we didn’t want to sign anything today. He then proceeded to say that if we don’t sign up today, then he will be charging us $20 for using the gym. And if we don’t pay him $20, he will not give our IDs back. We ended up giving him $20 cash for the trial day, so that we can get our IDs back. He didn’t mention charging us $20 if we didn’t sign up today at the beginning of our conversation. I came back home to read the fine prints and it’s not written there either. They are misleading and scamming people. I have filed a fraud complaint against them with the FTC and BBB. $20 is not a lot, but it’s the principle that matters. I encourage others to file complaints as well if they have encountered this.

I give this gym 2 stars for its convenience to my home and the equipment they have but this is seriously the dirtiest gym I’ve worked out at. The equipment is dirty always! I just don’t get it. I have seen the janitors cleaning the change rooms but I don’t believe they touch the equipment. Finger prints, dust and sweat drops all mixed together on the machines is just gross. They should probably have more signs to clean machines after use and more cleaning station throughout the building for people to clean up after themself. I wouldn’t recommend this gym because of this. It’s a dirty one!!

Signed up to this gym in February specifically for the hot tub, used it on my first day there, and it has been out of order ever since then. I am injured to say the least, so I can’t really use any equipment or do any lifting. It is now July 5th, and I just called to ask when it will be working again and the kind gentlemen said he does not know and is sorry for the inconvenience. But I have wasted 5 months of payments to this club, and I will be cancelling my membership Monday morning. This is inexcusable, and I hope they get their stuff together.

I was having issues revolving around a membership and Angela was incredible. I was barely able to get a hold of the front desk or anyone else and she was the only one I could feasibly get a hold of. Even though she should not be the only one answering she would pick up the phone and was always courteous and helpful.
In the end, she did not directly fix the issue I was having but put me in the right direction of who to contact (and the problem was resolved). She is a great asset to the Troy location.

Terrible experience. The employee, named Ken, said my wife could have a free workout, then after her workout he threatened to charge her $20 for it if she did not give them her credit card information, saying she must sign up for the free 7 day trial. “You can call us to cancel it and we wont charge you until 8 days”. THEY CHARGED US after 6 days then tried to refuse a refund. We have never had such an infuriating experience at a gym. DO NOT sign up here. Go to any other LA fitness to sign up instead if you value your sanity.

Bought a membership, went one time and when I was there it absolutely disgusting the weights were so sticky, the gym wasn’t cleaned at all. I couldn’t see one cleaning person on sight. Would not allow a free trial. She said it would be “disloyal “ to take information down for the free trial if we weren’t going to eventually sign up. Isn’t that the point of the free trial? We want to try the gym out.
Also, gym is very dirty. Machines outdated. Bathroom smells with trash everywhere. Sauna is filthy. List can go on and on. This place needs to be closed down like the one on maple. Good job LA!

By far the best gym when it comes to LA Fitness Locations. The Sauna is always working, the bathrooms are always clean - and as a recent athlete, they have a turf training section within the gym, perfect for agility drills. Also the staff is phenomenal, the lady with the bleach hair is always nice and will make sure you were satisfied with the visit!

This location is one of the biggest I've been to in the metro area. With that comes all of the amenities you'd expect. Plus with the recent remodel, the lockers and whole area look and feel clean and new. Yeah, some of the equipment isn't brand new but it's a gym and you're here to sweat... not here for a photoshoot.
Arri (who is the GM there) is extremely helpful and can get you started on your fitness journey with ease. There are a ton of fitness trainers available and a ton to do there.
Busy times are pretty typical but there are plenty of stations and free weights to use. Smoothies here are amazing.

I have been a member of this gym for over 20 years. I love this gym because I am able to workout in a safe environment. The staff is always pleasant and willing to address any concerns I may have. After recently visiting this gym with a guest pass, I encountered several issues that potential members should be aware of before deciding to join. The first noticeable problem is the condition of the equipment. Much like other reviews have noted, not only is the equipment outdated, but it's also poorly maintained and unclean, which could be off-putting for many gym-goers.
Additionally, my experience with the staff raised serious concerns. A particular staff member attempted to coerce me into leaving a false 5-star review in exchange for a guest pass. When I declined, they pressured me to sign up for a membership, misleadingly citing it as a "policy" necessary to utilize the guest pass. After my pass expired, further discussions with other staff members revealed that no such policy existed. I found myself insisting that they shred the membership form I was pressured into signing, a process which was uncomfortable and completely unprofessional.
Overall, while the gym provides basic facilities, the deceptive practices and the condition of the equipment significantly detract from its appeal. If you're considering this gym, be cautious, particularly regarding interactions around guest passes and memberships at this particular location.

Had a fantastic experience at the LA fitness in Troy over the course of the last week. I just moved to Michigan from Arizona and needed to start a new gym membership as my old gym is not here. My friend had a membership with the club but didn’t bring his ID with him because he never needed it. She needed to verify him so he gave her the number and his picture was on there and she still wouldn’t let him enter. I felt like this was a racially motivated act. I ask her. Such a great location, such a horrible gym... I think I have seen public restrooms at the beach that were cleaner. This place needs a major update considering their revenue for all LA fitness in 2023 was 2.1B. It's crazy that a place that charges atleast triple what Planet Fitness does is so out dated. Also the The machines at Planet actually tell you accurate stuff about your workout and let you put in your weight. So you know how many calories you're actually burning. You only have 6 seated bikes, replace them. It's not that expensive. the pedals are all busted and the machine looks like it's from the early 2000s. And your treadmills are worse. Not to mention the also have a lack of cleanliness there. In your cardio area where you have over 60 machines. You only have 2 cleaning stations and they were out. Put one in the middle. I swear if there were ever another outbreak of another virus it would happen here. In the time I was there I never saw anyone cleaning anything. I pray Planet Fitness buys your location. I can't believe I have been a member as long as I have. I should of canceled sooner..

Many of the machines are in poor working condition. The women’s locker room/bathrooms/showers are dirty and the showers are filled with mildew and mold. The showers need to be completely torn out and redone. They are the worst showers I’ve seen at any LA Fitness. The pool area is not clean and all the metal is rusted. But what disappointed me the most is that all of the hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes were empty downstairs. And after over 4 years of not catching any sickness (cold, flu, COVID) I am now sick. I called ahead of my Christmas break to inquire about a pass to work out while at home for 2 weeks visiting family. I spoke to Ari who told me she could do that and was readily available for my appointment when I came in the next week to get the pass (even though I was about 10 minutes late). She was very kind and gave me a great rate for the two weeks I was there. The sign up process was painless. My experience working out was good, locker room (womens) was clean and there were always available machines when I wanted them. GYM GOER BEWARE! I had signed up for a FREE Guest pass. Only to find out that the guest pass is NOT for FREE use of the facility.
I was given 3 options:
1. Get no membership and pay $20 for the day
2. Start a membership after day 3 of the pass, but they collect all info. Including planned payment at end of my visit
3. Sign up right then and there for a membership.
Per the girl who was at the front desk, the LAtroy location is a signature facility and recently remodeled. The place was dirtier than planet fitness. The locker room was dark, the floors disgusting. 3 toilets were over flowing with urine and toilet paper. I was so put off on the how bad the locker room was that I wanted to leave. I went to the cycle room to get a quicker than planned workout in. After all, I will be forced to pay $20 or purchase a membership after today, might as well workout. The cycle room bike I was on creaked so bad. After 15 minutes of it, I grabbed my stuff and left.
Will never return to any of the LAs after what I went through today. Buyer beware ☠️

We had a terrible experience with Arri. My wife went to LA fitness for 1 year and since we are moving to new place, she wanted to cancel her membership. Arri is one of the manager at Troy LA fitness. We went to cancel membership 3 times, everytime she asked us to come back. Alas after arguments and disagreements she agreed to cancel the membership and told that ‘we are all set’. But we did not receive any confirmation text nor email related to that. Next day we called the LA fitness to check on this and one of the staff told they haven’t cancelled the membership yet and cancelled it after insisting. I would not recommend LA fitness especially at this location. Especially Arri.

I am a recent member and wanted to show the facility to my son to see if he would like it. If he did, I wanted to add him to my membership. So we filled out a guest pass, received it in our email and went to the location around 6:45 pm. A very rude Manager person named "Ariana" told us guests can only come in between 10 am and 6pm and we are late . I asked her where can I find this information on the guest pass and she couldn't show it to me. If the web site or email indicated such conditions we wouldn't come. She said we need to pay $20 or we won't be allowed and she is allowed to do as she pleases .When I explained her this is not right, she told me to remove myself or she will call the police.
She ruined a beautiful night that we could have shared with my son, and left a terrible taste on my mouth for my LA Fitness membership.
Now not only I don't want to sign up my son, I will cancel my membership. It is not fair to treat members this way.

Today I had an unfortunate experience at LA Fitness that truly left me feeling undervalued as a potential customer. My main issue was with the manager on duty. I must say, her attitude was inappropriate and disrespectful.
I was looking to use a guest pass, and not only was I made to wait longer than anticipated, but I was also given misleading instructions. After filling out the required form, I noticed the manager altered my details, which was disconcerting. To top it all off, she informed me that guest passes were only valid between 10AM and 6PM. This would have been fine if I had been informed of this beforehand. Instead, I had to waste my time waiting and filling out forms, only to be turned away.
To make matters worse, her manner of communication was curt and lacked the professionalism one would expect in such an establishment. Rather than being polite and understanding, I was instructed in a rather impolite tone to approach her desk.
Such experiences make it difficult for potential members to consider joining or recommending LA Fitness to friends and family. It's my sincere hope that customer service training will be prioritized, ensuring that future patrons do not have to endure what I went through today.

This gym is so dirty and gross. My partner and I went to the pool as we typically enjoy the pool at other locations but this one was disgusting. There were napkins at the bottom of the pool and when my fiancé grabbed the pool skimmer it was already full of bandaids. Every piece of metal in the pool was rusted beyond belief as well as the walls. There's also not good ventilation in the pool area. It took me ten minutes to get the courage to swim in the water with how dirty it was. The pool dividers don't even hook the metal hooks broken off the wall and left that way. I will never be back at this location ever again don't waste your money here find another location or another gym.

WARNING: EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION BEFORE SIGNING UP LA Fitness has gained notoriety for its unethical practices, and my recent encounter with this morally questionable company has reached an unprecedented low. In August 2021, I ventured into the Troy, MI location with the intention of canceling my mother's membership and initiating my own. To my dismay, the gym manager assured me that my mother's membership had been terminated and my new membership was activated. Regrettably, this was far from the truth, as they merely froze her account and continued to charge her full membership fee's 3 months after the freeze concluded, starting in December 2021.
Upon contacting the operations manager, Derek Poslaiko, he immediately adopted a defensive stance and audaciously placed the blame on the customer for lacking "proof" of cancellation, despite the cancellation occurring in person with no supporting documentation provided to me. Furthermore, my mother has not set foot in the gym since that day, which is evident from their records. Instead of showing trust and cooperation, Mr. Poslaiko chose to be condescending, discourteous, and utterly indifferent.
It is abundantly clear that this gym, along with its appointed managers, operate in a highly questionable manner. I strongly advise you to redirect your financial resources and patronage elsewhere.
