Hi this is (N Kasmarogi) I’m a member at the club, I was very disappointed today I have been going to lifetime Commerce location for years never had that happen to me before. After I finished, my workout, went to the locker room, (men’s) come to find out that my locker was Wide open and looks like someone had gone through my gym bag after I had set up my code to lock it. thankfully, nothing was stolen out of my backpack because I don’t keep anything valuable Such as money or anything else there, but still that shouldn’t happen. So when I approach one of the staff and told him about it, he didn’t seem like he care at all so I’m gonna have to reach out to the corporate and file a complaint They need to keep an eye out on who’s might be doing or did it. I totally understand that they don’t have any cameras in the locker room, but The staff are in and out all day long FYI, when I had locked my locker, there was nobody near me or behind to look at my code so I have no idea how my locker was open at the code of 5555 i also took some pictures.
My question is to the management or corporate if your lockers are compromised and anybody can get into it you might want to consider making a new lockers that takes actual personal locks I’m having a hard time trusting your lockers.

BEWARE! PREDATOR AT THE GYM!

I was harassed and nonconsensually touched in the hot tub whirlpools at this lifetime fitness gym. When I told the staff, they laughed and did nothing. Be careful because he’s still frequenting the gym!

His description in case you see him:
Arab/Chaldean man in late 20’s to early 30’s, black hair that had a tinge of grey/white towards the front, golden chain, has tattoos on chest (one of Jesus or a cross), apparently rides a motorcycle because he kept talking about his motorcycle accident that caused damage in his legs and feet and he attends physical therapy for… etc.

The gym really needs improvement in terms of cleanliness. Towels and napkins are often left on the floor in the weights and machines area, and equipment handles and attachments are scattered around. After workouts, my hands usually feel dusty, which shows the space isn’t being maintained as well as it should be.

I really dont understand upper management at this location.. First, the lifeguards they do have, are good, hardworking young adults and I want to acknowledge their efforts. The issue is either upper management or middle management(ie whoever is in charge of the pools and guards) why is all of august the slides have been closed outside? Either upper management doesn't want to pay for lifeguards or middle management cant seem to lead/hold their current staff and thats why there isn't enough staffing. Why cant u guys update your app and just put water slides closed? When I go the app says its open but their slides are always closed? It’s 2025 everything is driven by technology is it that hard? Families pay 325-350 a month and cant even use the amenities? All of August the outside slides have been closed July seemed like twice a week closed.. Zero Accountability, zero responsibility. This is a management issue. Why is Rochester hills water slides always open the whole day? And not just for 2-3 hours. There is a serious disconnect here, buyer beware alot of other options for families and alot cheaper.

On weekdays from 5 to 7 pm, 3 of the 5 lanes of the lap pool are occupied by Swim team. In the leisure pool, all the lanes are occupied by swimming lessons at this time. They even fenced off the third lane in the children's section for these lessons. If you are a swimmer and want to swim in the evening hours, you only have 2 lanes left. Moreover, one lane is occupied by people who want to cool off after the jacuzzi, so they will disturb you.
In previous years, during the summer months, I have enjoyed the free lanes in the outdoor pool. This year Life Time hosting swimming competitions EVERY Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm, so you are left with only the indoor pools. Also, guest access to the outdoor pool in the evening hours is not limited, as it was last year, guests walk, talk and play ball on the lanes, so regular club members have nowhere to swim. I don't understand why I have to pay more and more money for a membership if I can't use the pools when I need

Lifetime commerce customer service is very poor! I called to ask a question about guest passes because I am 16 years old and want to bring my friend to the gym! The online app says a guest has to be 18 years or older to accept the pass! Why does a guest have to 18 or up when you are allowed at the gym at 12? The online AI gave me some insight but it said to call the lifetime to get better information about having a guest under 18. All THREE calls I made went straight to voicemail and I didn’t get an answer to any of my questions! Poor service!

Lifetime pulled the membership from Many people including a ton of senior citizens. Place has fallen off unfortunately, while efforts have been made to make it better recently. Overall lack of training for the cafe staff and a steep dive since 2020 in the level of service the club brings has caused me to leave this review. Also if you play basketball forget about it, chances are they closed the court to use for birthdays or some other garbage from the kids center that generates them a cash revenue on top of closing one of the courts to make into a cash generating pickleball area, this combined with the rising prices make this club less than desirable, there are better options for less save your money.

UPDATE JUL, 2024 - Finally left Lifetime, found a better Gym in my area and no regrets. If they continue with the bad service they will loose customers fast.

APR 16, 2024 - I have been switching between locations and this one in Commerce is worst, nothing has changed. 3 heathers at the dry sauna and only 1 works for the last 4 MONTHS! Steem sauna at the mens restroom has broken lights for months, swimsuit dryer is been broken for the last 3 MONTHS!! And the security at the afternoon/night shift aggressive and unpolite at any opportunity given. What type of management allows this, paying top dollar for this memebership and they couldn't care less about their users, as soon as I have time in my agenda I will scalate this to someone who really cares.

OCT 2023:I used to be lifetime member at this location before Covid and I would easily given 10 stars "if that was possible" plus the service staff was friendly. A month ago I joined again and subscribed my family expecting to go early or late "because of work it's the best time for me and my family" and now they don't allow kids early neither after 8pm, so now I can't come with my kid most of the time.

Other locations DO allow kids in those hours and this is the only location that don't. The first day I came with my kid not knowing this, they were rude trying to kick me out because of my kid. Something I notice is how rude the staff members are here, not once but many times they have been rude and unpolite, it's like the word "customer service" is missing here, and they literally kick you out 15min before closing "never saw that in the past" and I mean you could tell people "it's closing time" but here it's more yelling, something like "HEY DIDN'T YOU SEE THE TIME, HELLO! WE ARE CLOSING!.

The other day at 10pm, 2h left before closing a staff member came into the sauna which was full of people and told us to go out as he wanted to clean early to LEAVE EARLY "how are these guys trained, they don't care about customers" either way people reacted and said sauna was not supposed to be closed and then the staff member BROUGHT INTO THE SAUNA THE MOP AND CLEANER BOTTLE, he started moping in front of us and aftera couple minutes arguing and moping in front of us, some people mention those chemics in the sauna are actually toxic which is common sense, then he stopped. There was 12 people inside the sauna and he did not care about a single one. Later we leaved the sauna so he could clean and he CLOSED the sauna at 10:30pm, which was supposed to be open until 11:45pm.

Considering this I am planning now to cancel my membership, I can't tolerate the bad customer service and how they really don't care about their users, there has not been a single day were I don't see the staff being rude, the way they kick you out, plus not even respecting their own hours it's really frustrating. I hope they train their staff better and teach them basic customer service skills like smiling and communicating without yelling or being sarcastic. Life time loss the vision at this location unfortunately

I joined with minimal experience working out. Ryan and I discussed my goals and he was able to tailor our sessions to what I needed. He explained and demonstrated different, focused exercises and was able to push me when I needed it. My goals were confidence, knowledge, and fundamentals. He did an excellent job and I left our sessions with all of my goals met. He's easy to get along with and flexible with his scheduling. I would recommend him for anyone looking to start with a personal trainer.

Historically I have gone to Rochester location and the Warrenville, IL location and loved them. Tried this location and was shocked at how bad it was. First of all locker room didn’t seem very clean and had an unusual smell. Also, one of the machines I used clearly hadn’t been oiled in years. On top of all this they were moving large equipment during members hours. At one point I had a guy standing over me holding a leg press machine while I was bench pressing. I worked at a gym and whenever we moved equipment we made sure it was not during open hours. Whoever okayed this clearly isn’t very bright as this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Just a weird experience overall from this location.

This location is generally more cold and business like than other locations. The pool hours are very discriminatory to children as everything after 4:00 is for 18 and up except for the kiddy section or the cold outdoor pool. This is ridiculous as there were hardly any adults swimming and then a bunch of kids in excessively shallow water as that is the only place they were allowed to play. How in the world would two parents who work full time enjoy their membership? When we visited around 3:00 pm, an elderly gentleman was hogging the whole deeper end as he was doing water aerobics in a huge area while telling my children to leave the area. My son wanted to play with his friends and the lifeguards sided with the elderly gentleman. This is definitely not a kid friendly pool. Also there is no lack of staff to blow the whistle at your kids ever minute they move one of their body parts like normal children do.

Visited again yesterday. A bonehead alpha instructor approached me while on the hammer strength area. He stated that while attempting jerk squats that I need to start somewhere and join his class ! I observed his lackluster class and many of the attendees who need further themselves. Until you improve your fitness skills and your students are in shape , keep your jerk comments to yourself .

While some of the Instructors try to promote mental wellness and stability in their classes, it is the same instructors who engage in gossiping amongst guests. This behavior is a form of bullying.

I am very disappointed with the condition of the men’s locker rooms. The floors are consistently dirty, and there are dirty towels strewn everywhere. It's clear that sanitation is not a priority, which is unacceptable in a facility like this. I expect a much higher standard of cleanliness. The sauna was filthy, with dirt making it impossible to relax. Overall, a very unpleasant experience. The sauna is unhygienic, with dirty floors, unclean benches, and leftover trash. Unpleasant odors indicate poor maintenance, leading to an uncomfortable experience.

My family and I attended a birthday party at this facility. Unfortunately, I had to leave early due to an obligation.

My wife and toddler, who both do not know how to swim, were at the pool for the event. While the kids were playing in the small children's area, our son had a life jacket on but began to drift towards the deeper end. Fortunately, a parent was able to get to him before he drifted too far. He went back in and, after a while, began to drift again.

My wife called for the lifeguard, Sydney, to help our son, but she brushed it off as if it were nothing. At this point, our son was clinging to the rope asking for his Mom to help. The life guard continually refused to help to the point where my wife had to jump in and rescue him despite being fully clothed.

This facility should be more attentive as to who they hire with the duty of responsibly guarding the lives of others. This traumatic event could've easily been avoided if the lifeguard actually listened to my wife's concerns and took her job seriously with due diligence.

My cousins nearly 18-year membership at Lifetime Fitness was marred by a disappointing experience with employee Ryan which I saw with my own eyes that happen to him. Despite his customer service role, Ryan unjustly accused me of racism without any evidence, which was not only baseless but also offensive. Additionally, he exhibited unprofessional conduct by raising his voice at a fellow member in front of her daughter, demonstrating a lack of courtesy and respect. In summary, my interactions with Ryan left me feeling frustrated and disheartened due to his lack of professionalism and poor judgment. I will also be looking into further consideration to see if I will keep my 10+year membership with lifetime, they need to get their workers into shape and retrain them. This is completely unacceptable. I will not tolerate any kind of name calling, especially from a worker who thinks they are entitled to the club only because they have been working there for a while. Do not enter expecting a good time. The only valuable person this club offers is Wally, he will always take care of you. Ryan needs to be taken care of.

Experienced a total body deep tissue massage with CBD oil with massage therapist, Emily. I've had multiple massages throughout my life and this, was by far, the best deep tissue massage I've ever had. often times after a deep tissue massage you leave quite sore. 4 year check in. Friday at 5:56pm waiting 20 minutes for members services. It’s a building that looks like a gym. A corporate office without a staff. I canceled my membership a while ago. Canceling my wife’s membership today. Well, if I can find a staff member. There’s only one.

They recently remodeled the whole gym. Everything is in great shape. The stair climbers are all brand new, and in sufficient quantity. I'm happy to join back up. Locker rooms are also brand new, and in great shape.

Highly over rated. Several times the staff (Tara this time) has been rude about me and my son using the family locker room. I'm an older disabled veteran with significant back/knee issues. I don't understand why a young person wants to "crack down" on people like me (that's a direct quote). If I'm forced to go the long way around (men's room entrance) to watch my son's swim team lessons, it isn't happening. It is hard to justify paying this much to be treated like garbage.

I rushed to get there right after work around ~7 pm on a Friday to check out the gym and sign up for a membership with my wife. I arrive and the lady at the front desk makes me wait 10 minutes then refuses to take me on a tour or even let me signup for anything. I say I’ve heard good things about LifeTimes in general and would want to really check the place out and pay/sign today. She says she’s busy and I have to come back and says I have to do it all online. I understand the wait but felt like cattle and just a number. > This gym, for the given price point, is incredibly overpriced and lacking in quality.

> There is absolutely no reason why a gym at this price point shouldn't be open until midnight every single day. It's even worse when you consider Bloomfield Hills hours being even more reduced.

> They literally kick people out of the sauna, pool, and steam room 30 minutes before closing. So you can't even enjoy most of the prime amenities of the gym during the supposed 'operating hours'. This is incredibly frustrating considering the majority of LTs I've been to do not even care if you're in the sauna or steam room past closing time itself (this one literally kicks you out before closing time).

> LT makes more than enough money to afford an additional few hours of operating costs per day; it's literally pennies on the dollars for what you are charging per member and given the price increases in the past few years.

Out of all the “local” Lifetime locations, this is my favorite. When we lived in Ypsilanti, we’d still travel here vs going to Canton. We now live in Troy, and even though there’s on just down the street, this is still my preferred gym. It’s one of the bigger locations. It’s never “too packed.” The front desk staff is friendly. The cafe is yummy and friendly (albeit very overpriced). It’s also a very clean location, the only one I’ve never seen broken equipment at. The pool (Troy does not have an outdoor pool) and swim lessons are a great perk. Swim lessons though were a little lackluster for the price. But my favorite part about this location is the daycare staff. Compared to other locations, everyone is absolutely amazing, kind, and personable (not that any location has “bad” staff, this location is just an A+) Namely, Ms Heaven has been so amazing with our baby. She even does extra crafts with him. When we first started coming to this location, I was a little put off because they didn’t comfort toddlers crying. But staff seemed to change up a little bit and our toddler also grew more comfortable on his own.

My wife and I have been a member of this gym for almost a year now. It is great! Excellent showers, locker room amenities, hot tub, sauna, steam room, lap pool, walk-in pool, and pretty up to date equipment. It's like having a mini vacation every month. We are thankful to be a member of this gym. I have gone to other gyms before, and I have to say this chain of gyms is really a luxury!

The customer service is rude, I was considering subscribing and came to ask if I can take a tour and the lady interrupted me and just said NO with a condescending negative attitude, she then just turned her back and left me. I don't know her name but she was working Tuesday evening. It was my very first time there! You just lost a new member.

I recently got a lifetime membership, and I called them several times to get information about private swimming classes. No one picked up, not the aquatics division or the front desk, but one day I drove down to check if they were even getting any of my voicemails. Well, the aquatics department manager didn't respond to the question about my calls, but she took my name down and what I needed. She said she’d call back on Friday( it's Saturday now). My main reason for getting a membership was the swimming classes, and now I'm just wasting my money waiting for their call. I have the membership for nothing. I don't want to drive down there again because it's super cold outside, and I don't want to step out until necessary. Why do you make me drive there when it could've been a 2-minute call or a 2-minute email read?

Wasting my time and money. Customer service is the worst. Too overpriced, and for what?

Only gym I would ever drive 30+ minutes to get to without thinking twice. While it is expensive, you get what you pay for. They offer everything including care for your kiddos. Not just “babysitters” but actually workers that do programs with the kids like crafts, sports, yoga, & learning Spanish. Their classes & instructors are top of the line and help me reach my fitness goals. The cafe is an additional bonus for when I just need to reset, grab something healthy, or have time away. Everyone is very friendly and make you feel like you belong no matter what your fitness level or stage in life. Highly recommend for families!

Not a good value for the price. It was almost worth it when the membership was around $80/month. Most features and classes are only available for limited hours. During the pandemic they said i wouldnt be charged until i returned, then i found months of charges on my card anyway. Be careful and watch your payments closely.

Lifetime customer service is the worst. The facility is good, it's the staff that make it bad. Not only stuck up but very insensitive. I've tried to get a membership 3 separate times and they have messed it up on their end and never offered to do anything to make it right. Don't get a membership here if you expect to play basketball. They literally made a whole court for pickle ball. Terrible decision.. and they took out the racquetball courts.. the other court that's meant for basketball is always taken for toddler parties.. what a shame.. idk what they were thinking. Could have just rented out a court for pickle ball at specific times not completely transfer a court for it or put it where the racquetball courts used to be. deactivating my membership here after being a member for 15 years

Lifetime has great facilities. Wet Steam room, pools, whirl pool, weights, machines, motivational classes. Membership is a little higher than other clubs but is worth it if you use it. If you don’t, you’re helping pay for the folks who do use it often, so make sure to go as often as possible and get yourself together for the long haul of life.

I have been a member am since 2204 . I am 73 years old. I fell and shattered my wrist in June 2022. After two months doc okayed me to go in pool. I have a plate and screws in my arm and would be removed once it is healed. I finally felt I was going to try to come back and go in pool to walk. It has been very painful without any release but I wanted to try to get back at least in the pool even though the pain was excruciating. My experience has been the worst and unbelievable as it can get. I have asked if I could go through the family locker room in order to avoid walking the long way around to get to the pool. I had already had on my suit no gym bag in my bathing suit cover up and it would’ve been so much easier for me to go through the locker room the pool is so much closer and there’s not as many kids from the camp and the floor is dryer around that side of the pool . Going through the women’s locker room with me and I have to walk through a very wet floor from so many people going in and out and the hot tubs for the outdoor pool. I explained that would make me feel a lot safer especially this is just coming back after being out so long and I haven’t really gone anywhere until now. Come to find out I’ve never been treated so cold cruel mean unreasonably terrible people. I was told I had to walk all the way around and there was no way I could cut through that locker room to get to the pool quicker I have been treated terrible there now everybody’s looking at me like I’m a troublemaker and they’re very rude up to the club manager as far as I’m concerned that club needs to have someone from higher up checking up on that whole club attitudes are terrible with the help there and the pool is unattended with the children three years old Floaties on the deep side kids hitting each other with water weights there was no supervision in the pool horrible club I’m just wanna also say I called three other clubs in the area and they said it would not be a problem for me to simply cut through there until I was healed so bottom line don’t join when you’re too old because they treated like go away lady she problem

Lifetime Commerce, Michigan Spa. I work full-time and help care for my elderly parents who have health concerns. I admittedly have missed appointments due to emergencies beyond my control regarding my parents. I use the time I can have for myself to relax. Today I had an appointment for a facial with T after work, however, I received a call my mother was involved in an accident. I left work and spent the rest of the day in the ER. I forgot about the facial. I received a call from the manager S. who insists on charging me $45 because I missed my appointment. The manager then told me because there is no card on file, they will charge me the next time I have a service. I told her this was an emergency. She lacked empathy and spoke condescendingly. Heartless, uncaring, cold and immature. I will spend my time at an upscale spa with experienced customer service representatives. Disappointing experience.

Very disappointed in the cafe. Ordered food, waited 45 minutes, asked what was going on, they forgot to make it. I watched two employees take a break and return to work while waiting. I would have thought my continued glares at the staff would have gotten their attention, but it did not. And to top it off, when I told the staff member I'd been waiting so long, I didn't even get offered a refund, or some other item for my very valuable time. I work 6.5 days per week, throwing time out on my only, half, day off is not fun.

I've already joined another gym, and was visiting lifetime for the last time. Sure leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and will definitely remind me, along with the shortages of towels in various areas, that there are much better clubs for around the same price.

Very much enjoy this gym. Always used LA fitness. I'm conservative and stick to what i know, plus it was cheap. Recently joined lifetime and love everything about it. Free Day care for kids, wet sauna and dry. Wet sauna is extra hot (just perfect). Good size pool and now I am able to bring my kids, 6 & 1.5, and they have a kiddie pool area. Amazing. A+

I have been a member at this life time fitness since 2008. I have never had a issue once until recently the “gatekeeper” of your location has Horrible customer service by the man who works the front desk during the night time shift. This individual Causes un wanted trouble with high paying clients/ whom have been members for a very long time. I have spent a lot of money on top of the line membership here and how I was treated was disrespectful. Most definitely will be speaking with his boss within the week ! He needs to be let go. He also denied a young teen the bathroom who might I add is mentally challenged….. and suffers from autism. This will all come to light soon enough. Do better life time. I thought this club doesn’t discriminate?
