My 13-year-old son has been training at this gym for about a month now, and the level of expertise here is simply top-notch. We’ve visited a few other gyms in the area, but none of them come close.

The coach is a world-class professional fighter, but the gym has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend that adults train here, or if you’re looking for a gym to bring a young person who’s passionate about learning the art of boxing, kickboxing, or jiu jitsu, this is the place to go.

Darron is a true star at heart. He really cares about the students and just overall a great person. What more do you want than this gym?

Whether you want to be competitive, or just want a really nice hobby, this is the place to be.

Great gym but cancelling your membership is a hassle. Called in today to make sure my membership is cancelled since I was going out of country for a few months. Somebody named MAYA picks and she goes into an argument with me for no reason. She is like why are you calling again to cancel the membership over and over again and not even letting me speak. I said I just want to make sure my membership is cancelled and it was still not cancelled. I was planning on coming back to this gym after a few months and renewing but after a conversation with maya over the phone ruined my day and hopes to comeback. I won’t be coming back just because of her attitude towards a paying customer and neither are my cousins who were excited to join.

PS: i did not feel like leaving a bad review for this gym since the coaches are awesome but I run a business too and never would put someone with an attitude like that at the reception. I want to make sure this business succeeds with my feedback.

Have been coming to this gym for several months now for training with Detroit Fight Club. Facility has been clean and everyone I have seen here has enjoyed their training for the various forms of martial arts practiced here. Lots of great people in attendance and a great atmosphere for people on the grind to improve themselves!

Best MMA gym hands down. The instructors are very helpful and willing to teach anyone & everyone. I recommend all my family & friends to check it out! You will not be disappointed. The best therapy and exercise to destress and get in shape with reasonably priced packages available. 5/5 star

Love training at MTT. My children are signed up, I’m very pleased with the results. My oldest placed first in the Michigan open after a few months of training with Malky and fisher. The atmosphere is very welcoming!!!

I've trained there for a year and had nothing bad ever happen. I put in the work and they accepted me as family. All the instructors there are great. I seen a comment about Deven King...first off I train with Deven and he's a great guy.. great instructor.. any question I had he answered it. He's very skilled at what he does. I also train Detroit Jiujitsu... this place accepted me immediately and from there I joined a family. Excellent place...Dont take my word go to either schools and try them.

Joining Michigan Top Team transformed my life! The culture is extremely supportive and fun. The friends I made there helped me get off the couch and become an athlete in my 30's. My membership to MTT is easily the best purchase I make each month!

Training here was okay but, not very organized. I got injured during training and no one seemed to care-the very few staff that even knew about it in the first place. It's hard to contact them as they often don't return calls. The instructors are generally cool but, the overall operation doesn't seem nearly as organized as it should be.

Update (12/2018): Below the owner responded by saying injuries occur in such activities. I think that is obvious but, what do you do when they happen? How are you preventing them? You need to be watching over what happens at all times and not just sending people through the motions. There are many people trying to compete in organized bouts and they can't afford several months off away from training or missing the actual fights themselves. Others are just trying to get in shape and/or learn basic self defense and they can't afford to miss months off of their day jobs. What are you going to tell an MMA or boxing guy/girl when s/he has to miss fights due to injury? What are you going to tell someone working at the local real estate office or bank when they show up to work on crutches, "Well uh, we try to warn people up front there will be injuries?" How is that going to pay their bills or get their job back? How does that explain unreturned calls? Sure, MMA style training is tough but, unorganized and unsupervised activities should not be going on-especially with beginners. They don't have knowledge, discipline or control so expect more injuries than usual. MTT says they will make adjustments but, no details. Sounds token to me. Hopefully they make improvements but, if you go to MTT don't waste time there if you see unorganized activities and poor supervision. Try some of the other local gyms ASAP.

PROS:
1. They don't baby you
2. Multiple arts available
3. Decent parking
4. Reasonable prices
5. Decent instruction

CONS
1. Not the most organized
2. No locker room
3. Only one bathroom (which is not totally clean)
4. Inconsistent instructors (They change)
5. Only evening classes during the week.
