You won't find a better place for mental and physical improvement, then Mills!

Day Camp activities and programs have increased, especially in the summer.

My kids love it (therefore, I love it)

My grandson has attended Mills for both classes and camp over the years.
The gymnastics camp is exceptional and provides a valuable alternative to conventional childcare during the summer months. The coaches were highly knowledgeable, professional, and ensured the children’s engagement throughout the program. The class experiences have consistently been positive. Overall, it was an exceptional experience with exceptional coaches. I would highly recommend the classes and camp.

This summer, I enrolled my three-year-old twin daughters in classes at Mills Gymnastics in Michigan. Unfortunately, after just three weeks, our experience has been disappointing due to unprofessional behavior from instructors and a lack of supportive communication from leadership.

Last week, only one of my twins attended class. During that session, the instructor approached my sister with a complaint that my daughter wasn’t listening. Instead of offering constructive feedback or suggestions, the instructor was dismissive and rude, showing no effort to support or help my child succeed.

This week, when both twins attended, the same instructor was dismissive toward my mother. In front of other parents and children, she said my daughters needed to be placed in a “Mommy class” because they weren’t listening. She did not explain that this recommendation was for safety reasons. This comment was inappropriate, unprofessional, and humiliating. If there were legitimate concerns, those should have been communicated privately and respectfully.

Yesterday, I called and requested a conversation with the owner. I waited until 11:30 a.m. today without a response. When I finally spoke with the owner this morning, she asked for time to do her own research and promised to call me back. After her return call, the information she provided did not match what my mother had experienced. I asked if my mother could join the call, hoping to find a resolution that would allow my children to continue, whether in a different class or with another instructor. Instead of understanding, the owner treated my concerns as an inconvenience. At no point was I disrespectful I sought only a reasonable solution because my children genuinely enjoyed gymnastics and I wanted to preserve that.

I want to clarify that we never requested a refund. Yet, during a conversation between the rude instructor and my mother, the instructor abruptly stormed off and instructed the front desk staff to issue a refund. This was another example of unprofessionalism and left us feeling dismissed rather than supported.

My goal was an open, honest conversation to understand the situation and support my daughters’ growth. Instead, we encountered attitude, a lack of empathy, and dismissal. My daughters were beginning to enjoy their summer and build friendships, but that opportunity has been taken from them—not because of their behavior, but because of how this was handled.

I do want to acknowledge one staff member who remained consistently professional and kind the person who initially helped us register and with whom I spoke last night. She was respectful and supportive throughout, and I sincerely thank her. It is unfortunate that her professionalism was not reflected by the rest of the team.

Based on my experience, I do not recommend Mills Gymnastics. Young children deserve patient, supportive instructors. Parents deserve respectful, open communication. Sadly, we experienced neither.

My children started not wanting to go after 4-6 visits. Removed them from summer camp after they said there was a child trying to kiss them. I called the facility, everyone i spoke with was professional but no one could recall anything. My children stated multiple campers were placed in time out regarding the issue and it happed alot. They cried if I suggested taking them practically begging me not to take them. Not sure what all was going on but this wasn't the place for us.

Wonderful people, great customer service, and the coaches actually help you to train and assist you when you need help or to accomplish something they do not care about money as Downriver and Michigan Academy guys. The kids took a free trial at any of those ones and they did not like it also the coaches there care much about quantity not quality if you know what I mean. They will be the best Gymnastics out there and I will give them for sure 5 stars if they their open Gym is always $10 a person or a kid and 2 hours as other gymnastics are charging about $8 and $10 and 2 hours. I wanna to mentioned something else at Mills Gymnastics coach Emily is real good help to my kids and was assisting them with their Ariel and un supported back flip so they were having real fun and good practice for them. Also during their training last year they have had great instructor and good coaches there.

I am highly dissatisfied with this place after tonight. My kids got kicked out after being Insulted by another kid and my kids were the ones asked to leave after they were being insulted first. I spoke with the “coaches” and told me they would speak to the other kids but to find out they let the other girls continue to play. This place obviously doesn’t treat all colors of people the same, with my kids being Mexican getting kicked out and while the white continues to play. I won’t have my kids returning and this is not a welcoming place to be around.

Amazing place to bring your young ones to learn and gain experience in body movement. Competent and friendly workers. Plenty of parking and seating for parents. They have events on certain nights for kids to free-play and explore.

Kid has been going for awhile now and we have nothing but good things to report. This is a community of friendly, passionate, professional people

Our family has been active with Mills Gymnastics for about 6 years and they are nothing short of spectacular. Most staff interactions are positive, friendly and encouraging. Gymnastics is a challenging sport both mentally and physically but Mills always finds a way to make it fun and engaging. We’re hopeful for many more years at Mills.

Love mills!! Can’t say nicer things about Mills! We have been coming here for almost 4 years now with our son Cullen and the staff is FANTASTIC. He has been in every level of the toddler classes and have had amazing coaches in every level personally having great experiences with Coach Teresita, Coach Reyanna, Coach Harmony, Coach Megan and Coach Mackenzie (and probably some others I’m forgetting!) We had his birthday party here last year and plan to have it this year because the facility has everything! So much here for every age with an amazing staff to back the programs!

Our daughter has been coming to gymnastics since she's been about 2 yrs old and we absolutely love it here, as does she. It started off just with looking into something fun we could do together on the weekends and it was really enjoyable doing My Mini and Me. She always had a blast, but now that she's older and has grown into a few more advancements, she genuinely looks forward to going each week and learning more each time. We had her 4th birthday party here today and I cannot say enough good things. It was everything we could've asked for. We had quite a large group with the max amount of kids and all of our friends and family and there was plenty of room for everyone to eat and enjoy each other's company while watching our kids have the best time and celebrate our birthday girl. The price was super reasonable too considering most places want double and offer less. Malik (sp?) was our coach that helped us throughout the party and he was awesome, helpful, super funny, great with the kids, and had the tunes going for my girl who is a music lover! I didn't get the front desk lady's name unfortunately, but she was very sweet and when I was cleaning up our mess she told me to stop because that's what we paid them for, etc. She also saved me because I forgot silverware for cake and she came through like a superhero and had some. All of the kids had an absolute blast and didn't want to leave. We were all cracking up because every kid was red-faced and sweaty and we joked that that's how you knew a good time was had at a party when you were a kid if you left looking a hot mess like them today lol I know this review is long, but I genuinely want to convey how good this gym is and how well they've treated my family thus far, through classes and now this priceless experience for our daughter. I knew this year would probably be her first birthday party she actually remembered and it was special to me because of that. I really can't put a price on that. Thank you Mills and staff.

My daughter began gymnastics here after coming twice she caught a strep infection. Rash all over the body, & a fever.. My daughter isn’t in school yet and is the only child so she’s not around any other kids until she went to this facility. I don’t think they are properly cleaning and disinfecting the mats. I called to let them know and they said “okay” in a dismissive voice.
This gym also don’t seem to like people of color. As is it dominantly all white people. The atmosphere is not welcoming.

The coaches are good, but this place smells horrible, they really need to do something about this. Open doors so fresh air can circulate or anything. You get sick from them smell. From the observation most are moms that being kids here, if you are pregnant be ready to throw up for a long time.

Please do something about the smell!!!!!!

My son did transitional tots for a few months and the coaches were incredibly inconsistent about his progress. One week he was exceeding according to their "scoring" and the next he was being asked to move back a class. Some weeks toddlers were allowed to participate all at once and other times they were asked to take turns. The coach sometimes had upwards of 5-6 toddlers at a time with no help which leaves no time to focus on kids who need extra guidance. The coach did not establish any sort of boundaries with the other kids which resulted in kids hitting/kicking one another and then being told they weren't "listening" after failing to correct any of the behavior that was occurring as a whole. We will be finding another gym and would not recommend this gym to others.

Class size is too big, had 10 kids with one instructor many times. Coach Jon uses very outdated methods, taunting the boys, making fun of them, uses phrases like “ u run like like my grandma”, ” don’t be a crybaby” ect . Gym is very crowded. Ninja class also overcrowded with young girls being the only instructors, most the classes are taught by young kids.

I am disappointed that I have to leave this review. My daughter took a trial class. Samantha wasn’t coaching properly. My daughter is tall and couldn’t properly fit into the toy car(part of the exercise), the coach didn’t seem to notice or care. Then when on the beam the kids are supposed to side step my daughter was crossing her legs over each other. Common sense tells me that’s not the proper technique. Then Samantha left my daughter to sit on the gym floor bye herself while the other kids went to get stickers, my daughter is three. Sad experience. Leads me to think that some of the “coaches” aren’t gymnast.

The staff is excellent. We go for open gym and the kids have fun. My problem is they make them clean up on paid time. It is only a few minutes but you don't go to a restaurant and pay for your food and have to wash your own dishes. There should be an area for kids to put on shoes. Its disgusting to see kids walk in the bathroom and all over the floors barefoot then go out and play on the mats.

My son has taken classes at Mills for the past two years. During this time I have seen his confidence and self esteem grow tremendously. The coaches are supportive and patient, and they know how to challenge the kids in a positive, fun way. The facility also has a toddler play area, vending machines, changing tables, and a nursing room. This makes it convenient for families to bring their younger children and watch from the bleachers if an older sibling is taking a class. The atmosphere is always fun and happy, and our family enjoys the hour we spend here each week.

We took my 3 year old daughter for her trial day and honestly I was not impressed. There were 3 teachers to 7 kids and my daughter didn't get nearly as much attention as the other kids that were constantly doing what they weren't supposed to. She loves gymnastics but she barely got any direction. Then when they got to play on the slide at the end there was a boy standing on top of the 7 or 8 foot slide with no one watching him. The teacher/kid ratio is off. We decided to take her elsewhere.
