I found Move as a Human while looking for support to solve structural imbalances. Certain areas of my body had extreme tension while others were hyper mobile, and it was starting to cause pain in everyday movements like walking.

I'm a 33 year old male with a high level of athletic experience. However, after my football career ended at Hope College I gained 50+lbs and started dealing with pain and discomfort in my shoulders, feet, and hips. I began working with Victor back in February of 2023. Both of my heels had a bone spur on them. Victor has essentially eliminated the bump on the back of my heels and the pain. The functional patterns training protocols are unlike everything on the market today. Victor uses this approach to teach my body's natural systems how to operate together. For the first several months, we didn't do anything except for variations of an exercise called a standing bridge. My body has never felt this connected before. Victor has taken my body to a different level. Currently i compete competitively as a disc golfer. He has also added another level of distance to my drives and has helped me learn how to connect with nature. I did functional patterns myself for years, but since working with Victor, I have seen the most substantial body changes in my life. I have a long way to go to get where I want but I'm gonna be with this guy for as long as I can. FP is the best workout system by a significant degree. Oh and the best part is that I no longer spend copious amounts of time in the gym or at home working out. I found Move As A Human after four years of struggling with a nerve condition that was progressively getting worse and was beginning to take over my life. First I lost the ability to sit, then to do daily household chores, and finally this summer, I couldn't turn my head without pins and needs and nerve pain shooting down my left leg.

I had been to three surgeons, two D.O.'s and through four rounds of physical therapy. Despite my efforts to fully diagnose my lower back condition and find a way to improve, I simply could not.

Thankfully, a massage therapist I was working with recommended Victor. After so much frustration, I was skeptical, but as many know who suffer chronic pain, giving up is not an option.

After one session with Victor, in which he showed me some of the elementary exercise to begin the Move As A Human approach, I felt a difference. When I did the exercises he recommended, which (unlike PT) integrated the full body with each movement, my neuropathy, which had been ever present, started to ease. After a few weeks of regularly doing the movements Victor showed me, I started having full days without symptoms, and I began being able to add back movements and activities that I had been cut off from for so long.

Five months later, I live by the Move As A Human approach, and the principles Victor has taught are applicable to every aspect of my daily life. I truly feel I have been given a new lease on life. My new goal is to return to the soccer field, something which I had long given up on as being possible.

One of the best decisions I’ve made in ny life was seeking Vik out after I had my 2nd meniscus surgery. First one failed. Since then I’ve not had any knee issues and I’ve learned so much. He is a phenomenal instructor and I look forward to ever session we have together. Not many times in one’s life can you say “my life would be very different if this person was not in it” but that’s the case here. I know I probably would have fallen apart by now. I practice Jiu-Jitsu so i am constantly wrecking my body. with Vik’s help I’ve reached new levels in training and feel better than I did before my surgery. I was introduced to Victor/Move As A Human by a physical therapist who treated my pain from well intended, but misinformed trainers. He even treated my trainer as well as other clients with various pain from repetitive/overly repetitive movements. He specialized in treating pain which was typically caused by muscular imbalances with a robotic arm to precisely target the muscle.

I was seeing him due to a bone on bone right knee that was an 1/8’ shorter than my new left replacement knee, hence the imbalance. I know he knew some bad trainers, I asked him if he knew a good one. He did - Victor.

I started seeing Victor in December of 2021, about the same time I was due for another 6 month, $1100 non-insurance covered injection to manage the pain. Five weeks (10 sessions) later, the pain had diminished, no shot needed.

Victor had determined the cause, a muscle imbalance that caused me to lean forward for decades, putting extra stress on the knees. With an innovative exercise program, I was walking properly, pain was gone.

Unfortunately, the damage has been done, I will still need a new knee, but I got an additional 3 years on the old one and a pain free family vacation that was scheduled during my planned knee replacement surgery.

Extended time on physical imbalances, in my case decades, causes problems. I’m writing this for those that are treating the symptoms through chiropractors and therapists so you’ll hopefully explore treating the cause through Victor and his colleagues at Move As A Human.

I’m extremely grateful to have been training at move as a human with Joe for the past 6 months. I highly recommended Joe for his immense knowledge of human biomechanics and his contagious passion for it.
I started training with joe because I had been suffering from severe golfers elbow for 3 months. I wasn’t able to do anything I loved; tennis, basketball, working out, even everyday activities. As a tennis player I was always forced to take time off due to my injuries- my low back pain, my shoulder would kill while serving, and then my right elbow. I tried everything- physical therapy, rest, needling. Nothing worked, and if it did, it was only temporary relief. Not only did these issues impact me physically, but they strained my mental health.
Ever since starting with joe, my body has been 100% pain free. We have also transformed my posture which was also poor prior to this. His knowledge of functional patterns is top notch. I highly recommend Viktor, Move as a Human, and Functional Patterns. I’ve trained with Viktor for a couple of years to improve movement, feel better, and stay pain-free long-term. He has a sharp eye for diagnosing movement issues and designs exercises that correct bad habits and build better patterns.

Since working with him, my posture has improved (which also makes you look better), I move more efficiently, and I have far fewer aches and pains. My lower back flare-ups are gone, and the tension in my neck and thoracic area is mostly eliminated.

I’m 36 and have suffered from lower back pain since age 19 when I injured it in a snowboarding accident. I have tried everything and can honestly say Functional Patterns training and the guys at Move As A Human have brought me back from the dead. My body and entire structure is stronger than ever and my back pain is basically gone.

I have been training with Victor at Move As A Human for nearly eight months and had never before heard of Functional Patterns. After having my baby I developed pain in my knees that made it difficult to function normally. I also had previous postural issues that worsened, as well as poor core connection. I decided to try something new, after consulting my pelvic floor specialist, and joined Move as a Human.

I started training with Victor about 2 years ago and can’t thank him enough.

Diagnosed with degenerative disc disease I suffered from constant crippling back pain. Doctors offered to fuse some of my vertebrae together, inject me with steroids regularly, or physical therapy. I decided on the more holistic approach and began seeing different therapists, acupuncturists, yoga studios, and masseuses for over a decade. Some added temporary relief but the pain would quickly return until working with Victor.

Victor is the consummate professional. I started to see Victor for help in alleviating excruciating back pain approximately three years ago. Previously, my physician had recommended back surgery and/or steroid injections. I chose steroid injections. The injections always help, but I need them every two months. I decided that I needed another alternative, healthier, if you will.

This is where Victor's expertise in Functional Patterns and knowledge of the human anatomy and structure came into play. He guided me through a series of exercises which included homework and mind-body awareness coaching. As a result, I have terminated steroid injections. I am very grateful that I have found FP which has led me to Victor. During my initial assessment, I was blown away with the time he took to analyze my body and create a plan to get me better. I began working with Victor in July 2021. Four years ago, I was diagnosed with moderate to severe scoliosis, multiple pars fractures, and vertebrae/ disc issues. As time went on, my chronic pain increased dramatically, but I had reached a point medically where my team of doctors could no longer provide any guidance towards pain relief. As a competitive swimmer and soon-to-be college athlete, this news was extremely disheartening. I began to shorten my distance in the water and practically modify every aspect of my day-to-day life. Coach Victor has improved my quality of life tremendously. Ever since I was 14 years old I was in chronic pain and no one could help me with my elbow problem. Once I started training with Coach Victor the pain levels have decreased significantly and we are still tackling my dysfunctions. I started training with Victor over two years ago when he gave me swimming lessons.
I was immediately impressed with his knowledge, training methods and overall laid back personality while, at the same time, his ability to push me.
When the pandemic hit, I reached out to Victor to help me become a long distance runner.
