I have been a member for 4.5 yrs. I love the friendliness of the staff with the cheerful greeting and saying have a good day when one leaves, a clear sign of good management direction of that priority. The workout areas, the courts, are great; the pool well maintained.
I do feel that the remodel at the Holland area of the lobby area, took away much of the open, welcoming area to gather and look out at the wonderful sports complex; I miss that a lot.
Also very disappointed in the fact ONE PASS will not cover MVP memberships in 2026 and that there is not a negotiable solution to this thus far.

A bit frustrated that they have eliminated the points system, as it was a great way to motivate members to take the classes and try new things. There is little incentive/reward for member loyalty and for taking the classes.

Super clean gym with a variety of fun classes with great instructors. Locker rooms are fully stocked with many amenities including towels, hair dryers, lotions, hair gel, and so much more. Facility also includes indoor swimming pool hot tub, sauna and turf area for additional classes and training area. The cardio equipment has been upgraded in the last year and the weight room has a good assortment of both free weights, kettlebells, medicine balls, and machine weights. Best of all they have cold towels sprayed with Eucalyptus! Amazing! Truly the best gym in Holland.

I joined MVP Holland in May 2025. The place was very nice and clean when i toured, but the magic happened when i joined. I was very active in the 45 minute spin classes, taking 4-5 per week and each instructor was very good. The equipment was well maintained. I took several pickleball clinics which we great. The weight area was good as well as the stretching area. I am so glad i joined. It changed my summer.

I strongly suggest you cancel your membership if you are not going there. I just realized they've been charging me for the last 5 years each month, which I did not agree to. I asked for the last charge to be refunded and they refused. I will be filing the chargeback - shame on you!

MVP has a lot of different options and classes to partake in. They have become a little pricey, recently raising their membership fees. Just as I was thinking of joining back up-an email came out (June 1st) about now they will be charging a 3% fee for credit purchases including if you use your card to pay your monthly membership fee or just simply purchasing clothing, or from their drink or food station. If you choose to do an ACH to pay monthly dues, there will be a .2% fee for them to do an auto pull out of your checking or savings. They say they’re trying to keep costs down but inflation just keeps getting in the way. Maybe to save members money-how about letting them pay with a check or cash. This is why the cost of money sucks also. A dollar isn’t even a dollar anymore by the time you add fees to it. It’s hard to get motivated when dues and fees keep going up. Planet fitness is around the corner-pay your $10 or $20 and call it a day.

I started a membership here this month, but won't be renewing.

The price is a bit grotesque. Take me, a 30 something year old, the price is $110 a month for just me... Why is the price $85 if you're 18-26 years old and $110 if older, ageism? If you want to use kids stuff (2 hrs max of child care while you work out), you have to add those kids to your membership, more $$$ per kid. No free guest passed unless you add the "All Star" upgrade for another $35 a month. For our family of 6, a household membership would be $264 a month, without the "All Star" upgrade. It's just insane to me that people pay this. If they didn't upcharge based on age, I'd probably pay the $85 a month.

Price aside, the club has a lot to offer. It does fall short in a few areas though. The whirlpool and sauna are tiny for the size of the club and the number of people. I was looking forward to using these but the first time I tried to use the sauna, it was packed full. I've at least gotten to use the whirlpool, but it's only like 2x the size of one you'd have at home and not as deep or hot, it's kind of disappointing.

I'll be looking elsewhere once my month is up. The pricing is a bit insulting to me. I guess it keeps it exclusive to a certain clientele, of which I'm not I guess.

Edit - I've been at Planet Fitness and quite happy with the value there. It has everything I need at a much better price. It's unfortunately a longer drive for me, but the vast difference in price is worth it. I would recommend trying Planet Fitness first, or Snap, or any other gym in Holland before here.

Have been a member on and off since 2008. Decent gym, but not worth the continued price hikes in membership. Also, my father passed away in early January 2024. Had to leave the state to handle his affair, tried to call to cancel over the phone and got told I needed to do it in club. Went in with my fathers death certificate January 18th when I returned, hadn't been to the club once since mid December. Politely asked them to refund my $100+ January dues that I hadn't used once, and they told me to kick rocks essentially. Figured this would happen though in fairness, because all they care about at the end of the day is their bottom line, not their members. Some things never change.

Glad to be back, finally! Had various MVP memberships for several years (family, individual, senior) and work got in the way of my workouts. I dropped membership for two years knowing I would be back. Thrilled to return. The staff and facility are beyond anything in the area. Group exercise is the best, with a remarkable range of offerings. When I evaluated other gyms in the area, the price difference wasn't significant when you factor in the group exercise component, the availability of perks like indoor and outdoor pools, and the range of workout opportunities here. One family member, years ago, worked with an athletic trainer at MVP after getting a Division I athletic scholarship. Other family members found their own niche, as did I, the aging and now senior component. There is something for everyone here if you want to get strong and maintain your chosen fitness level.

Place is fine, staff was nice enough. It's a beautiful facility, but a little over the top and spendy, perhaps out of place in this town. Wanted to swim laps in the outdoor pool (the indoor is closed for the month, a fact that is not well advertised) and sit in the sauna (also closed). Middle of my swim, they pulled the lane lines and I found myself dodging little kids jumping into the pool and playing basketball with no help from the guard. I apparently am not the target audience. Would have got 4 stars if not for that. I waffled on 2 or 3, but I dont think my experience was indicative of the whole place so I kept it at 3. Either way I Will not be returning. Not for a 20 dollar day pass , which is exorbitant - I travel a lot, including major cities and other tourist towns and you dont see that price any where else. Maybe a membership is more worthwhile.

We have been members at MVP for several years now and have really enjoyed the experiences we had thus far. However, I feel as if I need to share my experience today.

The pool measures children to see if they are 48 inches by using a homemade piece of PVC pipe which most of the lifeguards all hold differently. To use the slide a child must be 48 inches tall as this is a requirement from the slide manufactuer. This summer my daughter who is just 48 in. has been going down the slide. She received a wristband when we always had her measured by the life guards. Today she was measured and was told she is not tall enough. When talking with the aquatic manager, Morgan,
Here are some of the comments I heard....

1. It doesn't matter that others have let her do it I am the aquatic manager and what I say goes.
2. After measuring her a second time she did measure 48 inches but Morgan replies, It doesn't matter that she touched this time, she did not touch the first time and that is what I go by and she was sticking her chin up this time anyway.
3. Then she makes a show out of it and asks my niece who is with us and is like 56 in. If she would like to be measured knowing full well she was plenty tall. In front of my daughter she says to my niece, yep you are tall enough would you like a wristband?

If this is the type of measuring system you prefer to use then it is necessary that it is precise. It is hard for a child to comprehend that all summer she is told she is tall enough and then today be told she is not. It is also tough on the lifeguards as they are put in a difficult situation trying to decide if a child is tall enough or not because the tool they are given to use is inaccurate.
