I have enjoyed various aspects of your facility as well as Crahen over the past 15-20 years. I am almost 79, so of late, I have taken advantage of the Well-Fit Program. I am very disappointed that the Optum company has decided it is not a benefit anymore. I also enjoyed some of the aquatic classes when I was having health challenges. I will sorely miss your company. It was perfect for my husband and I for years. He has not passed on but he loved to work out in the gym and take advantage of the hot tub etc. The best to you folks with the loss of so many who found family and friends at your location.

Loud, driving musicβ especially in the hot tub and dressing roomβ makes it hard to get the stress reduction of yoga, therapeutic pool. The music is not pleasant for all personalitiesβ but itβs forced on you.
I see managementβs response but nothing has changed despite many people noting this to various staff.
Sad - because itβs also less likely to have casual conversationsβ the sound creates less relaxation and more isolation. ππ

There are many irresponsible visitors who don't shower when they should... They get into the jacuzzi after the sauna and the like and don't shower. Itching, a serious problem.

Don't waste your time coming here $30 for a day pass but they only have 3 bench presses staff is rude and the gym is small and dirty. $30 gets you access to much cleaner gyms in the area with far more equipment for an entire month. There's filth everywhere the locker rooms are gross at this place I'm surprised more people don't get sick.

$150 a month for the most disgusting gym I've ever been in. Half the equipment is ripped or broken. The pool and locker rooms are covered in filth and haven't been cleaned in years. There's a disgusting film covering the hot tub that isn't cleaned. The few machines available are often held hostage by trainers even if theyre not using them by putting their towels and supplies everywhere refusing to let other guests use machines. Don't waste your time coming here unless you pay for a trainer or take one of their classes you won't be able to get a workout in in a clean friendly environment.

A year ago I was told I likely need a new shoulder. It was also about the same time I found out that via turning 65 I got to join MVP.
Even for free I was a bit leery. But I have now likely been there 6 days of every week I am in GR. Love the cleanliness, amenities, instructors and just the upbeat pleasant people that are involved.
Ohβ¦and by the wayβ¦in an annual appt with the ortho surgeon he said your mobility looks better than anytime in the last few years. Keep playing golf and pickleball.

Iβve received multiple texts from the gym promoting free enrollment and discounts, but none of them were honored when I signed up as a guest. I even showed the messages the gym sent me. Itβs disappointing that these offers werenβt acknowledged as I was told there was nothing they can do the gym should stand by what it advertises and not mislead members. There should not be any texts to members about promotions if they will not be honored.

Awful experience. We live less than a mile away and would never go back to the MVP on Burton. I have kids and am 100% for safety - but the lifeguards seemed to take joy in yelling at everyone non stop. The group we went with actually counted and laughed about one lifeguard yelling at 7 different people in a 60 second span. Haha. These were all for ridiculous things. It set the depressing tone for the whole place- awful place - not a place for you or your kids to have fun.

We felt quite uncomfortable at the pool today. We went for Father's Day with my husband and 18 month old daughter. First, we attempted to go down the waterslide (my husband and I). We were stopped because my tiny hoop earrings were "loose earrings" and I wasn't allowed to go down the slide with those.
Next we dressed my 18 month old in her swimmies and went to get in the pool- we were immediately stopped for a "life jacket check " (which we didn't see getting done to anyone else) and we weren't allowed to use the life jacket we had brought. This was fair- because it needed to be coast guard approved- which is was not. It was just the overall approach we disliked.
We then moved to the kiddie pool (where we were not apprehended surprisingly) but the lifeguard was yelling at the other sweet young kids playing.
Overall it was just a huge let down, we pay a lot to be members there and it was not a fun or comfortable experience at all.

The people who run this gym are just unbelievably rude and arrogant. The one Karen who works at the front desk is one of my least favorite people Iβve met during my short time in Michigan. The women in general who work there were just so non welcoming. I would never spend a dime at this place as they clearly only care about themselves and their money. Shoutout Larry though he was cool. The staff was just absolutely awful with the way the treated me for the amount of money they want you to pay I expect the highest quality of customer care and it was so bad I will not be returning! Absolutely disgusted and Appalled at the way that I was spoke to and the way that their staff handled the situation. Yeah the gym looks nice, but if your staff isnβt nice and cooperative at the end of the day, theyβre just driving more business away. So much so that I felt it was absolutely necessary to write this review The staff was absolutely terrible doesnβt matter how nice your gym is if you canβt have staff members that are nice and willing to work and help I donβt wanna come to your gym because thatβs just absolutely ridiculous. The way that I was treated I would give less then 1 star if I could!!!!!!

A lot to do, tons of amenities in one spot.
I feel the membership price is a bit high compared to the condition of the building and equipment; leaking roof(multiple spots) above the basketball courts has gone on a while now, worn out yoga mats/pads, etc.

My family and I have been members at MVP for many years. Sadly, we can noticibly see the rapid decline in quality and leadership. The outdoor pool has started to feel more like a bootcamp, rather than a place to relax and enjoy the hot summer days. Many of the lifeguards are just rude, disrespectful, as well as power hungry to boss adults and children around. Please remember that community members are the ones who help keep this place running,.
Overheard two of the female lifeguards by the kiddy pool make fun of a ladies foreign accent, and I could not believe my ears. I had the honor of speaking to the same lady at the playground, because I loved her accent. Just for your information, the lady who you mocked and made fun of spent hours operating on a patient at one of our local hospitals to save their life, and still found the energy within herself to bring her boys to the MVP pool thereafter. That is a hero!
We have decided to cancel our membership here, and join at a different location.
Do better!!

Been a member for over 5 years. Machines are now consistently broken (some for months) and there is a lack of effort and action to repair. Doesnβt seem any preventative maintenance is done nor are parts carried to repair broken down equipment in timely manner. Many of the cable assisted machines (bench press, leg machines) are frequently out of service and the same goes for ellipticals. At $100/month membership fees the upkeep of equipment should be a higher priority for management. Also, weekday hours closing at 9pm and weekends at 6pm make it challenging to get a workout in with work and school priorities and many members continue to complain about this. At least stay open until 8pm on Saturdays and Sundaysβ¦

Pretty good gym, good service and they have a pool (not a common feature). I was a member for a couple years before switching to a more affordable gym.
Warning: they tell you you can end your membership at any time for no fee, over the phone or on the website. They tell you this to your face at the gym. This is not true; you must go in person, and the fee seems to be arbitrary. I do not recommend this gym for that reason, despite all the nice things they have going for them.

I recently joined. Love the cleanliness and amenities. Staff are friendly. Good community and no riff raff. My only gripe is the hours of operation. The hours are inconvenient and full of exceptions (A on Friday, B on Saturday, C on Monday). Yesterday I ended up having to leave halfway through my workout and continue at home. If they were open daily 5-10 it would be a perfect gym. Everyone you talk to complains about the hours. Iβd be willing to pay a little more if the hours were more generous.

Great facilities! Plenty of equipment for any/every type of workout. There are also endless fitness classes taught by really kind/fun teachers! The pools and bball courts are nice (only downside is it isnt super easy to figure out when they are open to the public, or if they are reserved for classes). The hot tub and saunas in the locker are game changers (especially in the winter to help warm up the muscles/bones) and there are always ample towels and available showers! The entire facility is super clean from top to bottom. My favorite feature is the tennis/pickleball courts/classes- great surface on the courts and plenty of availability if you want to reserve a court! MVP has the nicest facilities in West Michigan!

Iβm disappointed with the services, cleanness, and unfriendly attitude of staff. Cannot recommend this place.
1. Membership price went up at the beginning of the year while perks buying power decreased significantly. To bring a 5 year old child as a guest now costs 250 perks points (equivalent of $25). Logically it has to be only 100 points (if you pay in cash itβs only $10). A week ago it was 200 points ($20). Logic however doesnβt apply to MVP imo. In addition, your perks points cannot any longer be used for merchandise purchase. It was OK even last year.
2. Condition of shower cabins around 5pm is simply disgusting.
3. Staff rotates too quickly, not enough people for cleaning.
4. Rude unfriendly staff in the pool area. Donβt expect them to help you if something happens. They can easily spray disinfectant in your face without apologizing. If you complain, donβt expect management to be on your side.
5. Towels are not allowed to be taken to outside pools, even though outside pools are part of the same membership. Itβs inconvenient if you are using both areas, inside and outside, during the same visit.
6. Hours of operation are inconvenient. On weekend, they close early.
7. Rules requiring to take shower before entering sauna or hot tub/pools are not enforced. I wish those areas could be kept cleaner.

The staff is very welcoming and accommodating for all walks of life that want to get fit or have fun in the facility. I especially enjoy the free classes offered with your membership. You can workout with instructors coaching you, get in some yoga, dance away with Zumba, or get some circuit training in all as a part of your membership. The Basketball courts are a great amenity and is an ideal alternative for getting some cardio in. The indoor and outdoor pools have everything under the sun that you could ask for with your swimming needs. The lockerooms are clean, quiet, and respectful. If you are a tennis or pickleball nut, their indoor courts are exactly what you are looking for. I would highly recommend this gym/sportsplex to anyone that is looking to take their fitness and fun to the next level.

The music from the classes is played too loud and to say anything is a waste of time. And the workout equipment is situated too close together. MVP had potential to be a good workout facility but the management is lacking in leadership. Likely why the turnover of staff is high.

Pricey, but honestly, the amenities make it worth it... if you use them and can go there enough. They have many pools, a big water slide, hot tub, and saunas - all very enjoyable.
Staff are good, honest, quality people. I enjoy taking to them and learning from them. The group classes are free with membership and are a great way to fit guided exercise into your schedule.
Lastly... if you can afford a personal trainer... they are great and worth it. Becky is amazing, but she is almost always fully loaded. I have nothing bad to say about the trainers and the staff.

No doubt they have beautiful facilities.
Unfortunately, condescending, discriminatory attitude and policies towards anyone they deem βriff raffβ in the words of their own staff member who led my tour.
I toured the facilities with a staff member about two weeks ago because a friend recommended this gym and had quite the experience.
Pros:
- high tech facilities
Cons:
- very little childcare past noon any day of the week (very discriminatory towards working parents)
- attitude of some staff members quite condescending as evidenced by the employee referring to anyone who attends the YMCA as βriff raffβ
- Some Gym members share this disdain for anyone outside the upper class of society. The employee went on to explain that there were quite a few people switching to MVP from the YMCA so they could βget away from the riff raffβ and cautioned me against getting a membership there.
I have since gotten a membership at the Mary freebed YMCA, enjoy state of the art facilities, enjoy the option of childcare until 7:45pm Monday-Thursday and Saturday mornings, and have encountered a wide variety of people from all walks of life but no one I would consider βriff raff.β
Would not recommend for anyone who values equality and does not want to support discriminatory practices or attitudes.

I'm 3 months in on my membership and really impressed. It's a great way to start my workday when I can. I never thought I'd be spinning but I tried something new. Thank you to the hard working and attentive employees!

This place lives up to its name. I'll probably be transferring here from the Y due to the quality of the locker rooms alone. I stopped in last Sunday using their experience pass and was very pleased. I look forward to the next time I stop in.

Recently haven't poor customer service with MVP sportsplex. I reached out to their tennis instructor to inquire about indoor/winter lessons for our kids. I've emailed twice, called twice. Left messages. The director has responded to my emails saying he'd have someone from his team follow up with him... nothing. Going to look elsewhere for indoor lessons for the kids.

We take our 5 yo to sw lessons here and his instructor is so amazing!! She is very patient with the kids who have a tough time, she celebrates successes and talks through opportunities. We will definitely continue taking our kids here for swim lessons!!

Itβs a very nice gym, very clean. The rules for the outdoor pool is just ridiculous, you have to get out of the pool every hour for 5 minutes so that you watch the lifeguards chat!! And my husband was very disappointed because men sit completely naked in the jacuzzi!! Never seen that before!!

It was nice from what my boys and I did. There are two big basketball courts when you come in, a children's drop off area, the front desk and a small area with tables where you can eat and purchase drinks from MVP.
My sons enjoyed the courts and the pool area and locker rooms. There is an outdoor area with 2 slides, lane pool, and a zero depth entry splash pad/pool. There is also a small playground with sand and a large concessions area with plenty of tables. Inside there is a lap pool and and a smaller warm pool used mostly for lessons but there is some open time. There are also. Some family changing rooms right outside the pool area that are good.
Upstairs is the workout machines and weights and overlooking the basketball courts are the cardio machines. There are some rooms for classes, mostly upstairs. At the far end of the building are the massive tennis courts area.
All thats left to tell about are the locker rooms! Pretty great! There are 2 sauna rooms, a hot tub, swimsuit wringer machine, plenty of lockers, changing rooms, shower stalls, toilets, lotion, shampoo, blow dryers, and a nice comfy area in the front with couches/chairs and a TV. We had a positive experience!

MVP has been the cleanest and one of the friendliest gyms I have been a part of. It is surely not a budget option but you do get what you pay for. With excellent indoor courts, a fully stocked weight room, bikes, classes, basketball courts, and a full amenity locker room, it is one of the last gyms you will sign up for. If you can afford it, it is well worth the money.
