About the Club

Phoenix Training is a boutique training studio in Northeast Grand Rapids. We specialize in personal training and small group training classes focused on functional fitness and strength training.
Small group classes:
Barbell class (adults only)
Yoga classes (adults only)
Phoenix Varsity Club (girls only ages 11-18)

Varsity Club is our small group training program designed for middle and high school girls right here in Grand Rapids. Find more info on our website or contact us directly to get your daughter started.
Other services:
Corporate private fitness training (small group training for businesses)
Nutrition coaching and consulting (adults or kids)

I cannot say enough complementary things about the entire Phoenix Training team. I did personal training all through high school and into my college as a baseball player. After sustaining an injury, I didn't think I was going to be able to get back to the level of strength and overall health that I was at. The team at Phoenix has tailored my plan to my goals and the ways that my body moves. Sarah, Christy, and Maggie constantly push me to be better and have helped me to get to the healthiest and strongest I've been in my life. Phoenix feels like home and I look forward to my sessions each week. They are very reasonably priced and have training options to fit most budgets and schedules.

Very nice atmosphere and friendly trainers. Great location, and private facility. If you’re not working one on one, there may be just one other trainer and client there working out too, but plenty of room so it isn’t crowded. You still feel like you have the place to yourself. The prices are extremely reasonable for one on one for private personal training sessions. Highly recommend Sarah and her team!

My daughter, Bella, has attended Phoenix Varsity Club, their small fitness class for girls and she has loved it! She is a competitive gymnast and this class is helping her gain strength and power. The trainers at Phoenix are incredibly encouraging and motivating, and Bella looks forward to attending more classes!

I have been training with Kate since August 2023. To say it has been life changing is an understatement. Kate creates workouts to push me but not make me so sore that I can't function. I have lost weight, increased my mobility and flexibility and found out how strong I am. Kate is an encouraging trainer as well. She's fantastic! I'm at the age where I now say "good knee, bad knee" so, I reached out to Sarah asking for some help. Without hesitation Sarah was so positive she would be able to assist with my pain. I have been with Sarah for a few months now, and I feel so much better, healthier and stronger. I still have minor knee pain, but that is due to "old age issues" the pain has been significantly reduced since working with Sarah. I no longer have pain when using the stairs, nor do I have to depend on the handrail. I HIGHLY recommend Phoenix Training. Sarah is so kind, there is truly no judging or comparing.
