If I could leave zero stars I would. The lead on shift was on break had a new girl running the desk. New girl had a hard time looking me up as I usually go to Fenton or Grand Blanc. I was down at this small Christmas shopping and wanted to work out and as a black card member you're supposed to be able to go to any Planet Fitness however this was not the case at this location.

They were finally able to pull me up and I had my teenage son with me who comes all the time with me as my free guest and they could not find him so they had me register again for him.

We were unable to work out because then they asked me for his birth certificate as if somebody carries around their child's birth certificate with them. Mind you he comes with me 3 days a week and has been signed up for several months.

So after sitting here for 15 minutes for them to find me in the system and another 10 back on a computer for my son at the end of the day we were not able to work out.

Highly disappointed and when asking for a manager card they did not have one because this location does not have a manager anymore.

I highly recommend skipping this location I'm going to the next nearest one that actually honors your black card and your membership that you pay your hard-earned cash for.

Mixed feelings here, I joined 2 weeks ago. Previously worked out at Lifetime. The facility is very clean. The equipment appears new and in great shape. Yet to hit a busy time. Every gym has it own personality but it a little too early to comment on the members yet. We'll see how open people are at this location. First impressions are not good but I'm going to stay open minded. ENJOY..

Staff is amazing, they're always genuinely kind, quick to check people in & they're as fast as they can be when it comes to cleaning/refilling paper towels/sprays throughout the gym.

However, I would absolutely KILL for another Vertical Leg Press.

The machine is constantly in use & their is always a small line of 3-4 people even during off peak hours.

At this point it's resulted in me moving to another Gym location on the days I workout my legs. I really do believe there's room & it would greatly improve gym-goers quality of life. I'm pleading here :'(

Nice for the casual lifter. I'm not a fan of the new hours as closing at 10, while im sure isnt a big deal for everyone, it does cut the time I'm actually able to go and lift in half---this problem could be solved if they raised it from 10pm to 12am but oh, well.
Would definitely be more excited to see additions of free benches/squat racks or at the least more Smith machines, as the current volume is inefficient.

Great gym! The staff are amazing and so friendly. Great set up now that they re-did it, and good equipment options.

My ONLY suggestion is MORE BENCHES PLEASE. There are only 8 benches, 4 of which are used at the Smith machines. So there are really only 3-4 in the free weight area because then 1 is usually taken over by the cables. I just feel like 4 is not enough for the free weight area and I'm usually spending a good amount of time waiting for a bench or I am having to switch my workout around because of the lack of benches.

I wish they’d replace some of the cardio machines with something else though. More than half of the machines in the gym are for cardio and as far as I’ve seen they are only being about 20% utilized even at busy times.

I love this PF simply for the staff. I will travel here vs LO location any day. It is always clean, staff is always friendly and that makes a huge difference in your day and workout. The staff is a direct reflection of who is running this place and someone needs to give them all a raise. Service with a smile, a friendly convo, or just jumping to meet your needs. Best PF staff I’ve ever come across!

This place is great. It's not a MUSCLEHEAD gym, so there is no intimidation although it has enough equipment and freeweights to be one. You can get whatever kind of workout u want there. Best there are no judgements. Staff is very friendly, they always say hello, smile and say goodbye . Very different from those annoying California gyms. I've only heard the lunk alarm Go off once in 6 months. Very good place for a workout!

I don’t understand why this Planet Fitness doesn’t have in-house locks. Every location I’ve been to recently in Florida and Texas has stationary locks built into the gym lockers, allowing members to set a new code for each visit. It’s a simple and convenient system that eliminates the need to bring your own lock. These are located In main part of the gym.

This is especially frustrating in Michigan, where freezing temperatures make it even more inconvenient if you forget your lock or just want to run and run out. To me, it feels like a cost-cutting measure that puts unnecessary hassle on members. Plus, this opens up door for theft. I hope they consider upgrading their locker system to match the standard I’ve seen at other locations.

Monroe is one of the worst planet fitnesses in Michigan in my opinion. My biggest issue is the cleanliness. There is almost always dog hair gathered in the corners of the gym after they shut the big overhead fans off. If you have allergies this is problematic. Don't bother telling staff, they smile and do nothing.

None of these gyms have a scale? Why? Staff says it's part of a new "positive body image". No, you've taken this too far. No stranger is staring at people weighing themselves in order to judge them. We can't start pretending facts don't matter. Your Weight Matters! The same way your Health Matters! Being overweight is unhealthy, and you're doing a disservice to your customers by pretending they are fine at any weight when that is NOT TRUE. Are we going to stop putting warning labels on cigarettes because we don't want smokers to judge themselves and feel like they need to improve their health by not smoking? Be serious, this is a ridiculous incentive and needs to be retracted. Who ever heard of a gym without a scale. It comes across as an attempt to cut costs and provide lower quality service, not a "body positivity" incentive. Furthermore I went to the gym at 4030 Balwin Road, Auburn Hills, MI. And I was working out until the 10pm closing time. When it was time to go, I was finishing my set, and a short woman with curly blonde hair from the staff harrassed me by standing over me and waiting for it to be 9:59pm to tell me that they're closed and I need to leave immediately. I told her I'm just finishing my set, I'm leaving in 2 seconds. There were other people in the area and she didn't harass them at all, just kept standing over me waiting for me to leave and contantly telling me that they're closed, and when I said I'm on my way, she said "It doesn't look like it." Even saying that she was going to make a note on my file because I wasn't leaving. I checked the time when I finished my set and it was 10:01pm. I reracked the weights while she stared me down in disbelief. Is this how you treat your customers? This is not what I pay $25/mth for. I am appalled and disgusted by this staff member's condescending behaviour. I was NOT the only one there at 9:59pm, yet I was targetted by this lady who kept throwing condescending remarks and staring at me.

Very impressed by this gym and all the amenities. Staff was nice and helped us set up a new membership and gave us a tour. If you get the black card you can bring a friend (or spouse) and get the extras like tanning, massage chairs, and hydro massage. I really like the 30 minute full body workout in the middle. I like how they discourage grunting and lunks. The price is very good compared to other gyms in the area. My only suggestion would be a family type membership option. Can't wait to get in to shape here!

Nice gym, spacious, clean and well arranged sections and equipment. I have only two issues that may not affect most people. There is no bench press or squat rack, just the Smith machine. I don't like the way it limits the movement in a very specific line. The second issue is the type of kettlebells they have. Im a big fan of the hard style kettlebells as well as the competition style. They have some skinny handle ones that are very geometric and and create uncomfortable grips for some advanced kettlebell workouts. If they consider replacing it, I recommend the rogue ecoat or powder coat. They're the cheapest out of all the big brands and very good.

This company is a jip off! I signed up for membership last year before covid and went a few times before Covid hit. they stopped taking payments out randomly but once THEY felt it was time to re-start payments, they did without my knowledge and kept charging a bank that was no longer active. I called to see how they could help me reactivate my membership and the lady was rude and did not help at all! She told me I needed to pay over $200.00 to reactivate the membership. Will never be giving them my business again. Rude and they do not care about their customers.

This facility was clean and the staff was phenomenal! Traci helped me today and she rocked! She helped me from the moment I got in there! She helped through the process of getting my card linked, talking with individuals over the phone, and she was so patient! This club is great !! My home gym is Rochester Hills, but I prefer this one due to the environment and the staff !! They’re all amazing except for Sara (the girl with pink hair) the last time I was here I had my jacket on top of my water bottle and she yelled at me to put it around my waist. She was very rude. It wasn’t in the middle of the floor or anything, it was right by the machine and out of anybody’s way. I thought it was unprofessional and her appearance is kinda not all that great either. I’ve noticed several hickies on her neck. If you’re gonna come to work, at least cover it up… nobody needs to see your personal business 😒
