The staff is always nice, clean environment. I just don't understand why we're paying full price still for the membership when we don't get the full access and 24 hours and 7 days a week availability. The weekends are the easiest time for me to go but because they close so early im not able to make it. Other PF gyms stay open and I would go to a different one but the travel is not ideal when one is 5 minutes from my home and the other one closest is 20 minutes.

I just started here a few months ago. A different location is my home gym but this Belleville location is my favorite. The manager, Michele is amazing and makes you feel so welcomed. The gym is always clean. The members are friendly and everyone feels like family there.

The night staff needs to be more knowledgeable of what’s going on! I asked to tan and the woman at the desk tonight (August 18,2025) at around 10:15-10:30 did not ask me for any name etc to tan, she just kept having personal conversations and being incredibly dismissive. I went to tan and LOCKED the door; once I was done luckily I was dressed someone else came in saying that the front desk said it was available which clearly it was NOT. Train your staff better, it’s inappropriate, and not professional AT ALL, staff is more focused on personal conversations than being on task with helping clients. Tanning room was a disaster as well. 0/10

Midnight shift is terrible. Everything is dirty and garbages are never emptied. Paper towel dispensers are broken or empty. Staff allows patrons to slam weights and scream with no repercussions. This use to be one of the better PFs locally, now its definitely bottom of the barrel and in need of a new GM immediately

New machines are trash. They are sticky and not greased correctly. You also have to get off the machine to change the weight. We pay money to come here for the last several years. I already said something to management about it 2 weeks ago, nothings been done.

I was disappointed to see that after closing to add new equipment there remains equipment that is out of order. Additionally when I called PF after today's visit to report that two people had bags on the floor and inquire what policy was I was told "welll they aren't supposed to be on the floor, if we see them we say something to the member". IF WE SEE THEM? The 1 employee on the floor dusting the free weights machine walked past one of them. The male on the phone was obviously still busy behind the desk. No one was on the floor filling cleaning solution or cleaning anything other than the young lady dusting. Having been to Taylor PF during the shut down in Belleville I see how standards appear to differ - all equipment functions there and someone is constantly on the floor cleaning (mopping the floors etc) and refilling sanitation equipment. Perhaps the large box fan on the desk at Belleville prevented staff from seeing the bags on the floor. To think I was hesitant to visit PF Taylor.

I have been a member for a few years here in Belleville. Fortunately for me, I am a black card member. This allows me to go to other Planet fitness locations.
They recently brought in new machines. The new machines are not set up correctly. The bearings are like an old man's joints, rough and jittery. I brushed this off at first, thinking I just have to embrace change. I was wrong. After my 3rd machine being crap, I decided to end the workout and head to the massage chair. The massage chair didn't work right either. I suggest avoiding this gym at the present time. I was told the Wayne location is not doing the change for another year, I will go there. After that, of things haven't improved, I will find another gym. This sucks because the location is good, just not the new equipment.

Truckers, be careful!

Great Lakes Towing (aka thieves) will tow your truck.

This morning, I stopped here to work out. While I was changing in my bunk, they began hooking my truck to a tow truck. I came out and told them to stop, but they forcefully removed my truck’s driveshaft — which later cost me $900 to repair — and charged me $3,450 to recover my truck and trailer.

This is a legal scam. The police are aware of it too. When I called, they said they couldn’t help me. My truck was impounded for no valid reason. I’m pretty sure the towing company and the property owners are profiting off this together.

FYI: If this ever happens to you, DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE. LOCK YOUR DOORS.
They legally cannot tow you if you’re inside the truck. If they try to, call 911 immediately.

I learned the hard way — don’t let it happen to you.

The mens locker room showers all have shower control handles that are barely on. Very loose and hard to get water temp right. You can experience harsh burns from the hot water.

The 2 night staff take turns allowing each other to disappear for hours, assume napping while being paid. Sometimes they act & appear to be under the influence. They can walk around facility and never pickup water bottles or paper towels left by inconsiderate members.

The countertop across from sinks, in mens, hasn't been cleaned in over a week. Same pile of dirt that looks like kitty litter is still there.

Owner should try reviewing his many cameras and perhaps send in undercover staff to witness it.

No real complaints.

The staff are friendly, locker rooms are clean, electronic equipment is working as expected 99% of the time. I have had a few instances where a treadmill's calorie counting will be waaaaay off (pretty sure I did not burn 1600 calories in a single hour of walking and jogging lol).

It would be nice if the "Rockbot" app had a wider variety of music to choose from.

Great facility.
Staff are always warm and welcoming, and always walking around cleaning the place and keeping supplies topped up.

I have a gym about 15 minutes from me and still drive all the way out to this one because it's well kept, not *over* crowded, and has all the facilities up and running.

If a machine goes down, I've not seen one broken for more than a week. A number of regulars you'll come across as time goes on.

Re-review as they previously were great, then had a oder issue, then solved it.
I only add that here as it's proof that if an issue arises, they take care of it.

I parked my semi around back, out of way of any customers. I went in and exercised. When I came out an hour later, my truck had been towed by Great Lakes towing! They charged me $2500 cash?! That’s twice the normal rate. Obviously Great Lakes towing uses Planet Fitness as a money machine. I’m a black card member and I also shop at the stores and restaurants in the stripmall. This is a terrible way to treat your customers.

The sign in process is nonsense. Since I am a black card member at another PF franchise I have to get scanned in then they insist that I physically check in on a notepad. That notepad that sits out for everyone to see asks for my printed full name, email address, home club, and reason for visiting. It seems more like this franchise is trying to steal PF members away from other clubs. I have gotten several dumb excuses for the sign in sheet when I asked about it. I was told once that I get injured they need to know who to contact...duh, call 911. I was told that there is a limit of times you can visit other franchises...I don't believe anyone checks through pages of paper to count how many times everyone visits. I was told that they need to confirm that I am an active PF member...that's done by scanning the PF app. I was told it is a liability waiver...bt the sheet asks for a printed name and not a signature. I was told it is a PF corporate policy...but this is the only club that asks me to complete the form. In any case it is unnecessary and a waste of my time. I will continue to not recommend any PF location as long as this location has me sign in!

Extremely disappointed in the customer service from Planet Fitness Belleville. Their employees are not on one accord and operate in a manner that makes the check in system very dysfunctional. After being turned away from a work out due to confusion of their employees, I immediately cancelled my membership. I do not recommend this gym. There are sooo many better gyms that don’t employ miserable narcissists with fragile egos who take it out on customers.
After repeatedly telling this establishment that I do not want a membership here, I am still being falsely billed. Their customer service in the Philippines can’t help so you have to come into the location.
I came in to reiterate to the “manager” who insists on talking instead of listening, that I do not wish to continue being billed for a service I cannot use. Makes perfect sense right?

After signing a cancellation agreement and telling Mr Fragile ego that I have to go and he can email me, he proceeds to get into a control drama and attempts to “throw me out” when I’m already walking out the door. Who does that?
I’m already leaving and plenty of times I told him that I did not have the time to get into it with him. Clearly he’s aggressive, confrontational and wanted to argue.
I just signed a cancellation agreement and expressed my distaste for this establishment and I’m walking out the door, why would a “manager” proceed to follow me out, attempt to make a scene, and threaten to “ban” me from a gym that I’m willfully leaving?
Talk about rejection, control, and professionalism issues.

I see plenty of reviews reflecting on poor management and your organization needs to do a better job at employing people that know how to treat people. Don’t know why, but this location insists on BLASTING the horrid PF music. I can’t even hear my own music with my ear buds on, and I’ve never seen anyone else w/o headphones. This garbage is a uper annoying and zaps my workout motivation. The facility is nice and staff is good, but I might go back to Ann Arbor. I signed up for a black card membership and attempted to use it on day one with my son as a guest. They wanted his school ID and birth certificate before they would let him in. They claimed it was in the policy when I signed up. It was not. The manager stepped in for the person I spoke with and was confrontational about it being policy. I asked him to cancel my membership as I could not use it. He graciously stated he would and then asked me to sign an electronic pad without showing me what I was supposed to sign. Speaking with other black card members I know, they have never been asked for birth certificates or school IDs for their children at their Planet Fitness locations. The club agreement only mentioned signing a liability waiver form for those under 18 and above 13.

I went back and spoke with Justin, same person that stepped in previously, and he was much nicer and calmly pointed out that it is a "verbal policy", which is mentioned briefly under the rules section of the agreement. We then discussed that it is only a franchisee rule and not corporate policy. It's unfortunate that the one local to me and the next closest one are both owned by the same franchisee. I eagerly await the opening of the new community center and hope they offer affordable gym options for families.

As an update after reaching out via the social media request, I was asked to contact the club to have the regional manager reach out to me. Justin at the club stated there was no regional manager and he was the only in charge of enforcing the policies but he also has no control in making those policies. I reached back out to the social media people and they have gone silent so just because they respond on here doesn't mean they actually care. I advise everyone to find another gym and not patronize this company.

Came in as a guest with my partner who is a premium member holder, have been to others before and she had signed up at this one. Randomly got asked for ID to signup?? I'm a guest, this has also not happened at any others planet fitness then refused entry. What a waste of 20 minutes there 20 minutes back. My mom made a membership before COVID and the once COVID hit she was never able to cancel her membership since you could only go into place to cancel when we couldn’t and now (not knowing we had to cancel that membership before COVID since we thought it’d cancel itself) that we want to start going back but wed have to pay $200 to be able to go back this is unbelievable but we will end up paying to go back, just keep in mind to remember to cancel any membership so you don’t need to worry about any extra payment when you never even went
