Was told I owed $80 on an old account yesterday and I couldn't use the gym until it's paid. Planning on speaking with the manager soon. I should've been notified when I got a new membership about the amount and I could have resolved it last year. And I've not been going for almost a year and still pay for the membership. That's $300 that gym got out of me without me going there. Hopefully we can reach an agreement when I speak to management.

The Planet Fitness in Big Rapids is one of the best gyms around. It’s always clean, the equipment is in great condition, and the atmosphere is welcoming for everyone. The staff here really make the difference. Jordan is an amazing manager — she’s kind, professional, and always goes above and beyond to make members feel comfortable and valued. My friend Seth is also fantastic; he’s super personable with guests and provides excellent customer service every time. Between the friendly team and the great facility, this location is truly top-notch!

Super bummed when on a rare Saturday morning when I actually had a chance to go, there was no one there to open at 6am. Waiting for nearly an hour and still not open. Being open 24 hours was the best feature, now not even open when they say they will be. Not cool!

My husband got a black card membership. He wanted to encourage me to join as well. I went with him for the first time to the gym and had a great experience UNTIL I was waiting for him to finish and wanted to try the hydro massage. She politely said, "NO. Not allowed for guests of black card members." What is wrong with customer service these days? If she had let me try it and see what it's like, I probably would have also joined the gym and got a black card membership. (Which is what my husband was hoping would happen.). They must not get a commission for selling memberships anymore. Good customer service would have said, "Sure let me show you how it works. We can let you try it and then it will help you decide if you want to join our club.". Now, just sitting and waiting for my husband to finish so I can tell him, "No honey. NOT changing gyms. Sticking with my own gym where the employees go out of the way to be kind and helpful.

Always has their massage/tanning beds closed for cleaning. Place doesn’t look clean enough for the 4 hours a day they’re “closed for cleaning” — worst location I’ve ever been to out of three states. The times “closed” should be listed and the lights shouldn’t flicker if they’re working a surplus time on their atmosphere.

The Big Rapids PF is one of the cleanest gyms I've been in. Newer equipment with friendly staff. Early mornings and weekends are the best times. Has been busy with high school kids in the past, so check the availability meter before going.

It isn’t meant for grown folks but is just right for students. With that being said if you have a family and a job that requires your time this place isn’t for you. Unless you want to tan. The only not busy time is when most are working/sleeping. 9pm-10am are the times that I was told are the slowest periods and may have open machines. Then once the students are gone it is no longer 24/7 🤷🏽‍♂️

Love this place. It's the best place to workout. I just wish more people would wipe off their machines. I'm changing my review to a one star because they are still taking money from my account even though I came in had to sign paperwork to cancel my account in April. It's now Aug 23 and even after canceling my debit card and getting a different one they still took money out of my account. I just went in for the third time and they said they have me canceled in April so why is money still coming out of my account?? It's almost impossible to get ahold of corporate and they asked me to come in on a later date to talk to a manager. This time I did take pictures and record the conversation. I just had health issues and am on disability and really can't afford to pay for pf mistakes!

We try to go the times per week just before lunch. We generally use elliptical and bicycle. Mainly concentrate on cardio. We upgraded for a while to use the tanning beds prior to a southern vacation. No problem changing back to the lower subscription after vacation.

Planet Fitness in Big Rapids, is probably like a Planet Fitness anywhere. The staffing is up to par, they have plenty of treadmills and ellipticals, and usage on any other machine/room all depends on how busy it is. Big Rapids is a college town (Ferris State University), so if you like the social feel, without talking to anyone, going from 4pm-7pm is your best bet. Want to be left alone, and have your run of the place? Anything after 8/9pm, or before 11am is probably your best bet. Want that in-between feel of a few people being around, so you don’t feel like you’re in a fish bowl but also aren’t elbow-to-elbow? Late mornings and early afternoons are for yah. It’s $10/a month. I mean, for a pretty much anytime run of the place, who can beat that price?

If you’re from out of town, have a black card, and are looking for the most accurate busyness assessment? Don’t trust the app, trust a Google search where the busy times are noted.

The gym is a joke, they will constantly change your contract , But won’t let you draw away , Hidden fees, Terrible customer service. Not to mention when they say sign up for a dollar and cancel for free. When asked not to save my payment card on file they said they wouldn’t I got charged for 9 months ! Even after he promise he wouldn’t save my info. Then the manager clears it up makes a duplicate account. So now they say I have 2 accounts at the same location and owe them both money and can’t even go in never mind the fact I got a black CVS rd member ship

Buyer beware! Canceling this membership is incredibly hard. You either have to go in and sign papers or write a letter saying that you want to cancel. Are we still living in 1980? I have ADHD and doing either one of those things are almost impossible with my schedule. I have never been there, wanted to go to motivate myself but it's about 40min away. There is no other reason I would have an envelope and stamp just laying around me and my post office is only open while I'm at work! I have tried emailing, texting and calling but they refuse to cancel. Seriously, check out their BBB reviews it's astonishingly bad. They do not require this when they take your money, they should not require it to cancel

They are so accommodating and really make everything easy for you! I love this place 😁 My only negative is there are a machine or two that they only have one of and for people like myself in physical therapy They are very important pieces of equipment. And I guess there's a lot of people who use them cuz I have never been able to get on one. Last time I was there the lady looked at me and said she'll be on it for 90 minutes! I knew I didn't have a chance. I believe the machines that you only have one of, there should be at least a 20 to 30 minute time limit just to be fair to everyone else who pays to work out there! Or you get duplicates of those machines!(this particular member sat down started to move her feet and started crocheting!!!!)

Today I went inside to the same PF I have been going to for nearly 4 weeks, and each time I just use my apps QR code to sign in.... however, this time they asked me to sign in on a sheet of paper. Why do I have a keycard, for all the PF facilities, but still have to sign in on a piece of paper if it's not a home PF? Kinda pointless!

The staff at this gym are incredible. Literally always greet me with a smile and have helped me with whatever I needed. I’ve never had any of them be rude what so ever.
