I love this Planet Fitness location! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the gym is consistently clean every time I visit. Even during busy hours, I have no problem finding the equipment I need open and available, so I never feel like I’m waiting around. I’ve also used the hydro massage, chair massage, and tanning, and all of those have met my expectations and made my membership feel even more worth it. Overall, a great place to work out!

This is my favorite Planet fitness, even though it's farther than the one by my house, I drive out of my way to go to this one because the tanning beds work so much better. I could tan everyday by my house and then go to commerce and get burned in one session so I go to this planet fitness now as often as I can and my tan is getting so much darker!!! I've been to probably 6 or 7 of the surrounding Planet Fitness locations, and Commerce is by far the *CLEANEST* nicest, biggest, and most welcoming. I've been a member here for almost 2 years and I've gone at all different hours of the day. I'm telling you the staff is literally ALWAYS cleaning something! I kind of stopped coming to this gym because I was made to feel very uncomfortable. Saw several other complaints about I'm pretty sure the same female, but not trying to point fingers cuz I'm not sure. Needless to say, what I was told by staff there due to her comments made me feel completely unwelcome - So it is what it is. 🤷

Needed to obtain a new bank card, informed this location the day I received the initial text. Each day there after they thought it was appropriate to harass me by texting twice a day about it. Changed my info at this location upon receiving my new card. This morning they thought it was appropriate to continue the harassment. Planet fitness said it was 100% the local gym was totally responsible for all billing matters.

I usually come to this planet fitness as my main gym. Well today 6/22/23 I walked in this morning around 640am for my daily workout & there was a lady talking to 2 teenagers. As me & my guest walk up she removes the scanner that was OFF to the side as if she wanted us to wait for her to get done talking. I will NEVER come back to this gym! Why move the scanner for us just for me to see a group of people walk in after me & get in just fine. Save your time & go to Waterford a gym that’s actually 24/7.

Most planet fitness gyms are a standard for cleanliness and attentive service and an excellent variety of machines that all work well and are kept clean. This planet fitness in Commerce, Michigan is no exception and I have been a member here since it first opened. Brandon, who is one of their long time employees, is always working hard to keep things spotless and provides the gold standard of customer service. I would give anything if they could add some yoga even if it was an additional charge it could be a very worthwhile workout for anybody of any age to add into their routine. Anyone who thinks yoga is for sissies has never tried it. Believe me it's a real workout.

Asked employee named Brandon to remove gum from a stair master machine.

After a couple weeks of it still being there I asked the assistant manager Benjamin to remove it. Rather than just removing the gum he then said “I can cancel your membership at any time.” I said OK then.

He also said that there would be no cancelation fees, then proceeded to charge my account $40.

Clean and well-run Planet Fitness. I do wish they would remove and swap a row of cardio machines near the front entrance nearest the mirrors with the cable machines in the back nearest the mirrors. This would allow for quicker and more efficient workouts for those that enjoy doing compound sets when it's less busy. For example, dumbbell bench press and cable row for back. The manager at this gym is horrendous. My wife had a very small conversation with one of the staff that no normal person would take offense to but apparently they did. Nick the manager called us and kicked us out of the gym. Over a two sentence conversation. I strongly recommend no one join gym because if you say something they don't like, your gone. I was at Planet Fitness in Commerce today and was treated so poorly. This is what happened; my online banking was hacked and had to close all my accounts. If this has ever happened to you then you know what a nightmare it is.
The customer service representative Lexi let me know I had a balance on my account. I let her know that I had called Planet Fitness, they have my new account info so I was sure it was fine. The very next day I went in again, Lexi let me know again that I had a balance. I really didnt think I owed because of my call to customer service but I asked her if she could take the payment right now, but she was not able to because its not my home gym. She gave me the 800 number to call. I got busy at work and didnt call.
Today when I went in to work out, Brandon was working. He was very rude to me about working out there with this $30 balance on my account.
I let Brandon know that there was a mix up when my accounts were closed and I had provided this new info. Also, I did make a payment online last night. He told me there was no payment posted. Then he yelled after me when I was walking to the locker room which was very rude.
When I was leaving the gym, Brandon stopped me again, told me he called my home gym and no payment was ever posted. I said okay, I will call them. He said I had lied to him about the payment. Brandon came around the service desk to confront me (during COVID)! Brandon, raising his voice so all the gym members around me were looking, he reminded me that HE would not allow me back into the gym unless the balance was paid.
It was the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me. I was humiliated in front of all these people. Never have I missed a payment in all the years I have been going to Planet Fitness. I left this location in tears.
You go to a gym to feel better, to chose a healthy way to let go of stress especially during these difficult times. I am in healthcare - some of my days can be sad and stressful. I go to this gym to feel better, only to be humiliated and embarrassed. Not to mention he should NOT have come around the desk like he did.
I called the 800 number, I do not have a balance any longer but he was right that the payment did not go through Monday night. Chase did not process this payment due to my accounts, nothing I do online is going through right now.

I later talked to the manager of this franchise, Drew. I told him how inappropriate his employee treated me. I explained that my accounts were closed and now on high alert now due to fraud. He was condescending, telling me he could see my payment was just made, he did not believe me. Drew apologized for Brandon's behavior BUT repeated I did have a balance on my account, implying Brandon's behaviors were warranted because of this mix up on my account.

What happens to all the people struggling financially especially during COVID? Does anyone having a balance get treated this way? I cant help but feel empathy for anyone that will be put through this same embarrassment.

I don't recommend this planet fitness. Over half of the people had their mask below their nose and one man had it off the whole time while exercising. It was busy and my partner and I were uncomfortable during our workout. The workers also weren't doing anything to fix the mask issue.. I like planet fitness just not this location. I feel comfortable at my home gym were people have their masks up all the way, people clean all the equipment, the workers are walking around and cleaning frequently,, and people are social distanced.
