I've been going to the gym for almost two years now. Lately, there has been a lot of homosexual activity going on in the bathrooms. Guy staying in the stalls, by the showers. It's just not cool.I told the guy at the desk and he said to look into it, he never did. I had the same experience of them.One on eight mile as well. I think it's time to be looking for a new gym.

The gym used to be my peace but lately switching to evenings has been an absolute headache. The girl Lena that wears the mask has made me experience a nightmare. I’ve experienced horrible customer service from her at the desk she clearly can’t handle more than 2 customers at once she’s frantically waved her finger in my face telling me to hang on. Other experiences I’ve had her practically chase me down for wearing slides as I was clearly walking to the locker room to put my stuff away and put my gym shoes on. I’ve seen her make people move so she can clean a machine. I try to avoid her at all cost when visiting this location but it seems quite impossible.

PLEASE READ TO THE END AND TAKE SERIOUSLY! I had a horrible experience which was very disturbing at this planet fitness location! I had a membership a while back and I decided to renew it recently. I was working out with my 13 year old brother and when we were finished with our workout I went in the locker room to take a shower there so I can head to work right after. As I got dressed in the showers and was leaving a guy stopped me near the exit of the locker room and complimented my shoes. He said he has good deals on shoes and I should “hit him up”. I didn’t care but he insisted and I was in a hurry so I texted him my number. Two days later I was at that gym when he messages me and asks if I’m at planet fitness as if he sees me. He says he needs to call me and not comfortable saying what he wanted to say through messages. It was a weird situation from someone I have never met or seen before. I tell him to call me and he answered the phone by saying “yo bro do you want to sell me your gym socks?” I was disgusted by what I was hearing and when I made sure of what he was referring to and that I’m speaking to a sick person, I started cussing at him on the phone. He proceeded by saying that he was watching me in the planet fitness showers that day from behind the curtain when I was showering and he will put me on blast! He threatened that he has pictures from a camera that he had installed in there. I felt blackmailed and violated! Especially that my family goes to that gym and my 13 year old brother! I decided to immediately get my brother and go to the front desk. I informed them of everything and they said they don’t have access to cameras to identify the individual until the manager arrives that day at 2 o’clock. They put his phone number in the system to see which picture he had on profile and it was a picture of an older lady. Which means he was entering their gym under someone else’s profile! They did not care at all and laughed about it. I left to make a police report and came back at 2 o’clock to speak with the manager. I met the assistant manager “Darrin”. He seemed young, very rude and still half asleep. He obviously did not have the credentials of a manger at all. He said he will review the cameras but he has to hear the other person’s side of story. Keep in mind he doesn’t know the other person’s name, description or phone number. After going back and forth he said that he’ll give me a call. The second day he give me a call and said that he can’t do anything about it and tells me I can do whatever I want and hangs up while I was still speaking to him. I canceled my membership at planet fitness and I do not advice anyone that has children or care about their privacy to go to that gym especially that location on Ford Road in Detroit / Dearborn. There might be cameras in the showers and definitely some sick men claiming to be all manly and muscular but have sickening actions that would land them in prison where they would like it.

You know, I've been to my fair share of Planet Fitness locations, but I've never encountered anything quite like the abysmal experience I had recently. Great Gym with a Welcoming Vibe!

I'd encourage anyone with 10 dollars a month to spend it on sand and lift that instead. Not only is this place a waste of your 10 dollars, they will continue to charge even after canceling, only to gaslight you by saying you never even filled out the correct paperwork. There is actually no way to contact corperate directly, so this is a great place to conduct buisness if you like having your dollars stolen without consent.

What a wonderful location. Very informative staff. The manager was even cleaning which is rare to see these days in a business so hats off to her. Club is always stocked and lots of great machines. Seems like they keep up very well here. A few people left their weights out but as a frequent gym goer to many gyms that’s not the staffs fault 2-3 people vs hundreds of people a day what do you expect. Voted best place to go if you made excuses to never participate in high school gym class. Every time I pop into this location my mood elevates but just enough to not get all Susan Powter circa “stop the insanity” then burn out on work outs. As I tend to do.
I even had a full on emotional breakthrough in the woman’s locker room recently (so far, I have never not on some scale) and still with all the trillness my mental is phasing through it is nice to know I can trust in this Planet Fitness group.

Personally this was my first time going to this location and I don’t expect a lot from planet fitness but the staff was so disrespectful and rude I couldn’t go without saying anything! First when I walked in nobody was there to check me in even though an employee was at the front so I scanned myself in without their assistance. Then the treadmills stop buttons are so loose at this location they just stop on their own I could not keep a consistent run, asked the front desk for tape to fix the machine while I finished working out which they assisted me with that. The dilemma occurred when I went to the front to check a friend in with me, planet fitness makes it seem so easy to bring a guest then they want them to sign up for twenty minutes. When the app and the link I was sending to my guest didn’t work I asked Keshon could she check in as a guest because the app wasn’t working. He said no and continued to have my friend sign up on an iPad that didn’t work then sign up again on her phone. This is annoying and frustrating when you invite someone to the gym and it was weird he was so concerned about making sure my friend was properly checked in but didn’t take the time to scan me in earlier or even check to see if I properly scanned myself. Honestly I wasn’t upset with Keshon I saw it as a clerical error and was gonna let it be just that until Emily started staring at me and giving me dirty looks. So I simply ask her if there’s something she wants to help us with and she turns away with a dirty look but she doesn’t stop! I continue to ask why she’s focused on me when there’s customers to be scanned in and Keshon instructed me that it’s inappropriate and I ask how with no reply. Proceeded to wrap up my workout and I get to interact with the nasty manager Stephanie as well I go into the locker rooms to shower and change when Stephanie puts down a yellow cone in the entry way of the showers and dressing rooms, I kindly ask if showers are closed and she responds rudely no while looking confused. All in all worst experience at planet fitness and looking for a new gym home after this week!

I frequent this location quite often because of location and convenience. Friday September 27, 2024 at around 8:30 ish pm, I came in for a quick workout, shower, and to use the massage chair. I like to shower first before my workout, so I went into the ladies room and used the bathroom first. I’m an observer and always aware of my surroundings. I looked around as I always do, I heard a shower going and no one else was visible in the ladies room. I noticed some dirty busted air force ones that looked like a size 10 or above outside the shower stall where, I initially heard the shower on. This stood out to me because in the back of my head I’m thinking “I know this not no female shoes” and if so, I want to get a look at who wearing these shoes. I walked down to the last shower because that’s the one I always use. As I was passing the shower where the shower was on and the busted shoes were in front of, I noticed the shower curtain was more than half way open, so I could see who was in the shower. This is where it gets interesting and I’m not making this up. It was a man and I don’t mean a MtF kinda thing either taking a shower in the ladies shower. I was soooo confused and when, he saw me he said “is my stuff in the way” Ikyfl big fella. I got up out of there so fast and made the staff aware of what was going on. Ladies please be careful and vigilant. I will NEVER come back to this location ever.

I like this spot, it's not my home gym, but it's clean, spacious and generally not over crowded. . .until now!
I appreciate the wanting to encourage younger people to hit the gym, but last week mid day was full of highschool aged kids who didn't know how to use/clean the machines and were mostly sitting on them while watching their phones. . .I guess this promo might need a bit of an intro course before they're just released into the space?

Signed up yesterday 10/11/2023. The guy at the front desk had me fill up the application for a black membership. I have been a member of planet fitness before and I know they take a picture of you when you sign up. The guy wasn’t busy but he either was talking on his head phone or didn’t feel like working and I can tell from his look. I even walked passed by him and worked out and my mom with me and didn’t ask to get a picture of me. I even asked him for 2 passes for hydro massages and didn’t tell mabout the guest policy that they have to sign them up before entering.
So far I have no issue. Until I came back today to workout, after I was done, My mom came over to pick me up and asked me to use the bathroom. LYRIC wouldn’t let her in TO USE THE BATHROOM saying that she has to sign up first. I explained to her that she is in a rush and if she could do the sign up process after she uses the bathroom. She literally said NO, she has to sign up first. Even STEPHANIE the MANAGER came over backing up her employees, saying that I walked passed the guy without taking a picture. I mean ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!???

The worst management I’ve ever seen, starting from the girl named LYRIC and STEPHANIE the manager was even worse and racist. Blaming me that I walked passed by the guy. Hope they get their priorities straight, which is a better customer service

The kids are terrible meaning all. They stink and disrespectful. I’ve been in this room since it was made and I’ve been happy, again the new things are awesome but the kids is all they start coming in new years..
