I’ve been going to this gym for about 4 years now and I gotta say, I don’t really have problems with it. One thing I really do recommend is getting heavier dumbbells. I’ve been to other planet fitness areas and their dumbbell weights go up to 95lbs which is actually awesome. It’s hard for me to get a heavy set in with dumbbell presses,/incline presses here in garden city. Most of my friends agree with me as well for this location to get heavier dumbbells. Other than that, it’s an amazing gym over here!

For the most part I enjoy this gym. The staff is nice. Always seems to be clean. Enjoy the convenience being only 5 blocks from home. While I appreciate them promoting fitness to teenagers with their summer program I wish they still required some sort of supervision or least had a certain time block they could come in if under that program. The last month there had been many times I have gone in there and a group of kids is just holding up a machine not really using it just hanging out on it. Also have seen inexperienced kids doing things wrong or screwing around leaving me surprised they haven't hurt themselves or each other

Ugh another summer of dealing with the kids that don't know what they are doing or how to follow the simple rules of the gym.....
Maybe us regular members should get the 2 months for free has well for having to deal with the headache and inconvenience they cause

10/10 friendly staff. Jackson saved my three cats and lizard that was stuck up in a tree that was surrounded by a hungry gorilla (100 men vs 1 gorilla except he was the 100 men) Using his athletic ability to make a tornado to safely get them down. Haleigh then did one swift karate chop and the gorilla ran away and gave us all 100k each. Would recommend!!!

I've been a Planet Fitness member for quite some time, and today was the first time I felt out of place at this particular location. I was spoken to in a condescending manner, as if I were a child. If I had done something wrong, there are certainly more respectful ways to address it. As a 35-year-old adult, I expect to be treated with respect. If I missed a sign due to not having my glasses, a more considerate approach would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and I will no longer be visiting that location.

VERY CLEAN AND NICE ENVIRONMENT. Just as all the reviews say it's as good as it sounds. Open bathrooms with showers and lockers with locks (has to be purchased locks though) . Don't be surprised if you see someone naked in the locker room. They have lost and found that is accessible if you lose something and love the availability with the weights and other work out stations.

My massage chair ended and after literally 5 seconds a woman worker came to my chair with someone and said "people are waiting!" To which the guy said I can use another one (3 others were open) to which she responded "nope this one is open!" I didn't even have a minute to get up or clean it. I've gone here for 2 years and I've never seen this worker but she is obviously not trained in customer service because it was gross. Nice things. Not friendly people. When you walk in, the employees don't greet you, they stand back at a distance waiting for you to scan in and see if there are any issues with your account. They do not see you as a human but an account to be checked. Discussing to be treated this way. I even looked at the man and said good morning a few times before he made eye contact with me. Finally making eye contact he said "you already said hello to one of the other associates". I left to go to a different gym down the road. These people don't see humans, only dollars.

I have multiple sclerosis so i cancelled both my membership and wife’s due to mobility in Aug 2023 and her not attending since 2021!!! I just got out of the hospital to find 7 months of charges! While I’ve enjoyed the PF experience in the past. Our family tried to sign up again. It would accept my Visa card for the sign up and first billing cycle, but doesn’t allow anything but a bank account to finish enrollment. I've only been to a few different PFs in recent years but this one definitely stands out. For context, the other one I frequent is in Northville and I am not a big fan.

This place has a nice layout – it's pretty spread out and there's never too many people around. Some gyms are cramped and the way they're designed makes the vibe uncomfortable. This one is not one of those.

The staff here is really friendly. The manager noticed that I was coming in nearly every day and offered to help me switch my primary account over to that PF. Granted, it probably benefits him to have more people there, but he was really friendly about it and made it really easy.

I been coming to PF for a year now. I love it here, it’s always clean and never having to wait for a machine is always a plus. Staff is always kind and courteous. I would easily give more stars, but I just can’t with the reason below.
In support of mental health awareness PF offered teens ages 14+ to work out in the summer for free. My teen, who is a high schooler did the summer pass and enjoyed it. It was very convenient because I was able to drop him off and attend to his younger siblings and pick him up when he was done.
Once the summer pass ended, all this was taken away, not even just the free part. Teens under 15 are no longer allowed to come or get their own membership. To attend, teens (aged 14) can ONLY come with a parent/guardian and stay with a parent/guardian the whole time. They can’t be dropped off and picked up when they are done. Does this even make sense? If PF is in support of mental health awareness, how do you give something and take it ALL away?? That in itself can cause “mental health” issues, especially for teens who are more susceptible to it. So if you are going to promote something, you really need to revaluate and reassess what your actually promoting and to who. It should coincide with your rules and policies pertaining to the age requirement for obtaining a membership. This is very hypocritical. If the summer pass is offered for teens starting at age 14, then when it ended the same teens (aged 14) should be allowed to get their “own” paid membership (obviously with parents permission and supporting documents). The summer pass shouldn’t have been offered to teens starting at age 14 if they aren’t allowed to get a paid membership when the promotion ended. It’s even more frustrating that the club staff can’t even help with anything because this is your “rules”. Do a better job at your so called “promotions/raising awareness” :(

So I attempted to start a new membership I went in and the guy Alden told me I had an unpaid balance for this particular location, an account from 2020 that a rarely used because of covid-19 I asked for the account number and customer service number, the guy Alden was rude and told me that they were not going to do anything other than refer me back to them. I asked him if he could waive some of the late fee payments so that I can work something out to pay off membership to start new one he refused. I then asked for corporates phone number and he refused to give that information to me as well. I then called after I left and spoke to Alyssa and she was very rude as well when I asked them to cancel the new account that had been started so I wouldn’t be billed anything additional until I figured out what was going on with the other account she rudely told me it had been cancelled and disconnected the phone. I do feel as if both parties were extremely rude and bias I ended up contacting a different gym that I also had a balance with and paid off my balance in full just because I was treated with respect and care on top of me being 6 months pregnant I will never attempt to step foot in this place they don’t have child care, nor a sauna or a pool but think they can treat people mean over a 25.00 membership if they were willing to help and understand my situation I would have gladly paid them money. But since I was not considered I will pay off balance at a later time. Do not goto this place it’s a rip off and they will charge you hundreds of dollars on member ships that were suppose to be cancelled years ago
