Does not compare to the PF in Byron Center. Few stations with cleaning supplies for after use of machines. Often with empty paper towels. Only 1 staff member visible on both visits. On the phone the whole time. No greeting, no sign in, just the scanner on the counter for members to self check in.

Machines are great, gym is well laid out, but I will be going to Byron Center even though it's further away from home.

Probably should pay more for a membership at a better gym. Because you’re going to get your stuff stolen here and “pay” for it anyways. (Not just me but I hear people at the front desk all the time saying their stuff got stolen). Maybe put a nice big sign by the locker room due to high amount of theft we recommend using a lock or don’t use the lockers.

Great place good environment James the trainer is awesome I was an MMA/boxer for many years and James has helped me with different workouts still wished y'all had punching bags ECT grappling room it definitely has a potential with all the different type of circuit trainings they have in that gym I know it takes away from the no judgment zone but good gym and good staff and it's clean!

Nice facility but I BEG you to bring back the sign and stoplight (or even just the sign, honestly) for the 30 minute circuit. It’s my favorite but I hate having to kick people off machines that are sitting there for over 5 minutes. It really ruins the experience.

I’d just like to start this off by saying I have been going to planet for a long time and this year I started doing the classes. By far James is the best trainer I’ve had. He’s very considering and accommodating. Very supporting trainer and not only guides the workout but explains it and explains the muscle it works. Overall best experience hands down!

The staff is friendly, as helpful as they can be. They were always attentive and kind. But it is apparent that the management doesn't really take their roles seriously. I have been trying to get ahold of a manager for over a week now, calling 6+ times, taking my name down, stopping in person as well. The issue was I had been charged a month after I had already canceled the month previously. Because of neglagence or a system error they had "no record of that cancellation". I was told once I got ahold of a manager my refund would be sorted out, after almost 2 weeks I was now just told there was no possibility of a refund because of there being no record of the cancelation on their end (big surprise) and that I owed back pay for other months I was not going there and had canceled for. after that whole run around, they still offered me no proper solution and there was still a middle man between the manager and I. I canceled originally because I did not like how cleaning your workout equipment was mearly a suggestion to most of the gym goers. There isn't a lot of good equipment worth using.
Over all, signing up at any PF is signing yourself to a parasitic contract, a money hungry, unsanitary half put together gym, sadly.
Still a 2/10 because the employees, NOT the managers, have been nothing but helpful and kind. I hope you all get a job at a place that values you and has a management staff to support you properly.

First time visiting this location, and the overall experience was spectacular! The facility itself was so big it took a moment to take it all in. Very clean, nice equipment, & the bathrooms are fancy! The employees instantly greeted us, and even told us about the place, and areas. Awesome workout!

The atmosphere is very nice and everybody is very respectful. I’d say the most busiest times are later in the evening when people don’t have work. I recommend going at 7-8 in the morning—there’s a still a bunch of people but you rarely have to wait to use equipment. The gym-goers are respectful and clean up after themselves. The staff are very nice also. They greet you on the way in and say goodbye on your way out.

James the trainer is amazing. He customized a workout program around my bad knees and shoulder that still allows me to accomplish my goals. He is always there to show me how to do the exercises and answer any questions I have. I absolutely love the experience that James and this location (Planet Fitness) has given me.

Nice, clean gym, courteous help....Paid $23/mo. for almost 2 years, only went 5x. OK, I'm a moron. But just try to cancel membership. Apparently they love this cash cow cuz they're still screwing me every month. Been in there 6-7 time, mgr. promises refund nothin comes....these prix need to be slammed with a class action suit, and I mean hard. BEWARE....unless your an attorney who can screw them back, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

The free weights and Smith machines are always packed, but the cardio equipment is never more than 20% in use. They did a renovation a couple months ago and I was hoping they'd add more smith machines or a bigger free weight area, but they just replaced a bunch of cardio equipment, most of which was in fine condition before. There's like 6 free weight spots, 6 smith machines, but 40 treadmills plus plenty of other cardio equipment here. They need to recognize that imbalance.

Good place to workout as far as ambiance and the setup of the overall gym. The reason I give the low rating is because of the EXTREME lack of phone service I get when I go to this gym. The place was kinda crowded with like 100 treadmills and bikes, the staff was nice but if i didn't know any gym education like cleaning machines I would have been very confused. When I notified the staff at checkin that this was my first time they didn’t tell me where anything was and I was kinda lost. I asked a few questions and he gave me straight answers, which is better than nothing, and tried to hurry signing me up.

I've been to almost every Planet Fitness in the state of Michigan, and this one was by far the worst. every aspect of my experience ience there from checking in and getting a drink to the locker rooms and the beds more than half a dozen bulb, was awful. Most of the staff stayed behind the counter for the hour and a half that I was there and there were rolls of paper towel that were missing the whole time would not recommend going to this Planet Fitness, Grand Rapids needs to get another one .

Great place to get your workout in! Staff is very helpful and friendly. Sign up for the new member orientation, taught me the ins and outs of the exercise machines and how to use your smart phone to track your progress. Senior friendly! It's an alright gym - cheap and plenty of equipment, and generally not too crowded. That's about the end of the positives. The music is always deafeningly loud so it's hard to hear and talk to employees at the counter, and even when I can manage to make myself heard over the noise they're woefully incompetent and unable to help me out. There's not really enough space for warming up or doing non-machine based exercises either.

It's okay for what I was looking for. During the summer they give high schoolers free memberships and I think that's amazing and totally support it. However, it was too busy and it was like walking into a mall during Christmas time and filled with 16-20 year Olds. Again, great- just not for my liking. It looked like it'd be a nightmare to get a machine and gain any consistency in a proper workout. If anyone has suggestions as to where else I could sign up please let me know. Love the friendliness of the staff! There’s lots of machines so even when it’s busy there are still machines to use. The only problem I’ve ran into is trying to use a trainer. I asked about meeting up with a trainer and was told all I had to do was schedule it through the app. No problem! So I scheduled through the app for a 6:45pm class for the next day. When I got there a worker at the front desk showed me where to wait for the trainer and said she’d have him meet me there. I waited 15 minutes and no one came. I went back to the front desk to see what the hold up was and was told by another worker that the trainer was actually working with someone one on one and that I could go find him but that they have been pretty busy with another gym closed and the teen program going on. I decided to just do a workout on my own like I’ve been doing. Obviously scheduling through the app is pointless.

First time at this location. The whole front desk is surrounded by a plastic face guard and since it was my first time, I had a few questions to ask. I couldn't hear a word the employee was saying so I had to ask him a couple times to repeat himself. I finally just nodded like I understood what he said. Their total body enhancement (infrared lights) had 2 lights out and 1 light flashing. I love how much workout equipment they have and different things they have to offer, including the tanning, massage chairs and hydrogel beds (which is included in the Black Card membership). All in all it's a great place to workout. They really need to learn how to spell the word JUDGMENT (there is no "E" after the "G"). Their marketing team should really fix that.

Well I'm glad it's open again. Though still has a leak in the roof on the east side, on the north side facing the restrooms. I'm assuming the landlord is a billionaire in case it gives out. You'd think the landlord of the building would have fixed it completely preventing any leaks or buckets to catch the dripping water from the ceiling in that area of the gym.
