The staff is very friendly and polite. They maintain the no judgement attitude the franchise advertises. They do a great job keeping the place clean and smelling good. A gym could quickly become disgusting, but the staff are diligent in keeping stations stocked and clean. The classes with the trainer are easy to sign up for on the app and they adjust to your level so everyone gets someone of value out of the classes.

Definitely not the location for people with anxiety. Tried this location out because the reviews said its never very busy but i quickly saw it was pretty busy even though the little activity meter even showed not too busy. Midway through a set of reps i was doing, a fellow member felt the need to walk up to me and started trying to have a conversation about something on my phone. I had headphones on and was staring at the ground. Even though he was being ignored he got onto the machine directly in front of me and stared at me as i finished my reps and cleaned the machine then proceeded to follow behind to the treadmills and then the black card room. I definitely felt very uncomfortable and did cut my workout off early to get away from the guy. I do like the layout of the gym but just will have to go late at night at this location or something if we do come back. Just a heads up to other members because I've never had an experience like this at any other locations. Most of the time people leave you alone, especially when you have headphones on and are busy.

I have been to many planet fitness locations, however, Lake Orion's really stands out. The bathrooms are ALWAYS clean and the front desk will always greet me with a smile even at 1am. Great facility with more than enough amenities, would love to see one or two more smith machines though. At peak hours it can be hard to get an open one.

All that my wife and I are trying to do is get healthy and stay in shape. Planet fitness Lake Orion is my go to Gym. The facility is very clean, and the staff is exceptionally helpful. Alex, the manager is constantly on the move, making sure that the place is being mopped, paper filled, and other things that make it feel like a first class facility. Micah and Alexis are two of the main employees on the day shift and they are very friendly and knowledgeable if you need any help. Finally the personal training professionals that they employ are very helpful on technique, etc. This is a great gym!

Provided some critical customer feedback to Alexandra the so called GM there about the extended wait times for the weight equipment during certain hours. I suggested adding more of the highly used weight equipment to accommodate the demand by removing some of the other equipment that is not being used to create a more efficient experience. At this point she became argumentative and saying that’s a corporate decision. When I asked her to escalate this to corporate she blew me off. I guess PF gets what they pay for. Customer feedback is a gift but when it falls on deaf ears that’s a problem. I know some of my friends are canceling their memberships because of this. Also you don’t need 4 and sometimes 5 staff behind the counter when towel dispensers are empty. I also notice a high turnover in staff which is indicative of a management problem.

It was one of those planet fitness gyms that’s hard to put into words. Life changing would be as close a description I could fathom. Day one I made friends, the staff was incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was chill and clean…really could not find a single complaint about this place. I’m a gym rat and I’ve been to many gyms and this is prolly top 3 for me. Don’t believe, go see for yourself! It’s the place to be.

Overall this gym is pretty solid. It meets most of the needs. With that said, on the busiest day at the peak time, the treadmill/elliptical areas are maybe 20-30% full, it’s a significant amount of wasted space. Meanwhile, the weight section is always 80-100% full even during non peak days/hours. What would make this place great is removing 2-3 rows of unused treadmills/elliptical/etc and adding more machines and ideally another set of free weights that goes from 5 up to 100lbs. No one in the gym seems to be a meathead but there are still quite a few people ranging from high school age to 50+ that could benefit from heavier weight in standard exercises. There’s only so much creativity one can do. By adding more free weights and machines, you’ll balance out the gym and allow for a much better environment.

I'm turning my 5-star into a 1-star. I canceled my membership a couple of years ago in the gym and paid all final costs before being deployed. I moved back to the area recently and wanted to restart my gym membership, but they said I had 3 months of past-due fees and late fees to pay first. I asked for help from the manager who threw up her hands and told me too bad. I came back with the proof of cancelation from a few years back and they told me it wasn't in their system so I was out of luck. It's all a scam. Avoid this place.

Will be back soon. Just came in and wanted a massage chair. Signed up on the sheet, the employee Casey did not even ask how much time I wanted. He started it with ten min. The other day an employee let me go 20 min straight. I asked Casey to do 30 min and he told me that was way too much time and there were other people. All of the massage chairs were empty at the time? It doesn't seem like it should be up to the employee. Every other planet fitness I've been at has told me you can go as long as you want to. What's up with this? Luckily I go back to WA soon and will probably try out the other PF while I'm here. Not much else I can do except give my opinion on here about the lack of customer service. I pay the extra so I can use the massage black card area as long as I want to. Changed from 5 star to 3 since not all the staff is understanding of the customers needs. (Casey)

The price is great and gym is clean but the gym is almost always packed full of young kids playing on thier phones hanging out in groups and riding double and tripple on the very few benches that are there. There are very few free weights and dumbells only go to 60 lbs. Also only 4 smith machines and they are never open. Usually a line of teenaged girls waiting to excersize thier butts. Also the music is absolutly horrible so bring your headphones. In the summer time teens work out for free so it just becomes a hangout and you can never get a good workout in. The teens completly take over.

Sucks that this is really the only gym in the Lake Orion area, because the owner of this franchise must be a penny pincher. Why in the world would a PF close at 10pm on the weekends. When most people have the time to workout only on the weekends. If there's a slight power outage best believe this owner will shut the whole place down, cause he's still getting memberships paying the bills. So any hour or opportunity this place has to close its doors, they will take it! Go back to 24/7 like all the other locations, this gym is wayyyy too busy to not be open all the time... Decided to give the Lake Orion location a try, unfortunately I was treated very poorly by the employee, "Sam". I did not have my phone with me, so I kindly asked her to look up my account via phone number. She explained that she had no access to any other databases that would allow her to identify my account. She noted how she was able to locate a guest check in the state of Pennsylvania 5 years ago linked to my account. That's it. Sam was very apprehensive about doing anything that would move this little inconvenience forward. I had to call my wife over, to use her phone to access the Planet Fitness app, so I could sign her out of her account, and sign in to access mine. After providing the proper credentials, "Sam" aggressively said you 2 need to use this pen and sign in on the guest sheet if you want access here. I don't know what type of day Sam was having, it just felt like she was projecting some sort of negative behaviors toward me, then my wife. I've travelled all over the United States for work, and having the Black membership has exposed me to at least 60 different locations around the US. This is the first time I have ever had any sort of issue with anyone at Planet Fitness. Thank you for your time and consideration, Jason Fisher.

The current staff at this location aren't interested in providing customer service or demonstrating fairness or respect. Instead, their efforts go toward satisfying their OWN comforts and keeping themselves from getting into trouble.

They're comfortable openly lying and making demands of their customers. If their equipment fails and tech issues arise for them, then your life needs to stop until they can eventually fix it. This was such an excellent location at one point but it is unbearable now. Being mistreated by Sam and some of the others is such a shame.

This place used to literally be one of my favorite places to go....unfortunately there is all new staff now. Most of them are kind but a couple of them are some of the rudest people I've ever met. They seem to be on some kind of planet fitness power trip and they are ruining the entire experience for everyone else. I've been a black card member for sometime but if the environment doesn't change soon I will be canceling my membership and encouraging others to do the same. We don't need the hostile "Planet Fitness police" harassing us at our gym, that's for certain.

Sure... it's a gym. No bench, no squat rack, and nothing above 65 lbs. dumbells. Great if you like cheap gyms or aren't serious about lifting weights. The Smith machine will haunt you if you have any relative knowledge about lifting. Very clean and nice staff

I love this gym... I come in at 530am M-F. The womans bathrooms are never clean, toilet paper on the floor, no toilet paper in the holders. There's plenty of times I went to get spray from a station to not have any paper towel. Some mornings the staff are nice in friendly. There's a pair I normally see everything morning... I'm never greeted. They have their faces in their phones or they are even sitting on the floor. I'm not one to typically complain but today 8.12.21 I used the bathroom to to find out I have no toilet paper.disappointing to pay $23 a month to not even get the customer service that's deserved.Hence the 3 stars.
