How far this location has fallen and its due is horrible upper management and club management has completely ruined this club. I be been coming to this club for 2-3 years The only saving grace is the assist manager and a hand full of employees if they are still even there. They go through employees faster than the location is cleaned. Worms and drain flys all over the showers, other members talking about roaches in the expansion area and the burning smell coming from the vents when the heat comes on because they refuse to service the building. Night shift has a gentleman who just stares at members and refused to help when he decides he’s in a bad mood. I also overheard other members speaking one day about how they wanted to tan and he said” I heard what your boyfriend said” and he simply walked away from the seat without helping her same employee the he stares at people . You would think impact fitness would want the club to have a proper and professional club manager especially and some employees with the new club opening in Waterford. Suprised they never learned from the mistakes with club management. There is not a single reason to come to this location when the new one opens up. Upper management has completely flopped and the club manager should be removed immediately not like the club has had a issue with replacing people new faces every 2-3 months? Never seen a turn over rate that horrible in a Business
However it’s not just Waterford but ALL impact fitness locations seem to have horrible management. Best part about this place is me saving $25 dollars a month and a garbage yearly fee for “up keep” and “ maintenance” that never seems to be completed. Instead of deleting this review like they done in the past maybe they can have a hard look at what they have done to make members feel this way and work on it. You got about 2-3 months. I used to work at this planet fitness so I understand what the environment should be like. I had an unpleasant experience with justin an employee, I asked for a tanning bed, and he gave me a dirty look, I asked what I did and he said it was because of a review my boyfriend wrote about him, I said that had nothing to do with me and I didn’t write it, and i just said i’d call another employee (Billy), and justin just walked off. No matter how you feel about someone there needs to be a level of professionalism and you DO NOT treat members like that ever.

I love the atmosphere here. You have different shaped, goal oriented people working out together. Staff is pretty helpful. There is plenty of workout equipment so no long waiting for a station. They have massage beds, body sculpting machine, tanning beds and massage chairs. They have four showers. Bathrooms could be a little cleaner at times but I'm sure it's hard to maintain with all of the members that frequently come through within the day. Membership cost is fair. I recommended buying the black card so that you can have access to more things in the facility amongst a few other perks.

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of this gym. All of the machines are nice and new and tons of options. They even have a hip thrust or machine as well.As a full second area for abs and power lifting. Also, they have tanning rooms and massage beds if you're into that.

My regular home “go-to” gym. It’s usually clean, sometimes it’s not. I’m typically in-and-out after 2 hours in the morning after 2 hours. Same group of individuals when I go, so it’s not crowded. The men’s restroom can be super DISGUSTING at times. Dust usually on the floor throughout the gym, and the massage chairs are in DESPERATE need of replacement. The staff is friendly from what I observed.

This place is funky. Very dirty, falling apart. Bunch of bulbs out... brown paper towel, no garbage cans in the rooms, so you have to carry it out with you to throw it away. The glass door was open, so I could've just opened it and messed with all the bulbs. The inside of the glass was dirty, so there was no cleaning it. Honestly, disgusting, I will not be returning. I understand they are 24 hours but damn. 🤢

I guess this goes to all of planet fitness as a whole. My family hasn't gone to the gym in 3 months. We had the membership for over a year, just the last 3 months we haven't been able to go. We finally decided to cancel our membership, the day before the auto-pay was scheduled to come out for next month so we could save money that we have been wasting. They told us the money would still be coming out that the auto-pay was already coming out. Why is auto-pay coming out BEFORE the scheduled auto-pay date? We did like planet fitness. But that's ridiculous.

I’ve been going for about 7 months now. Usually pretty late at night, somewhere between 9 to 10:30. I wanted to try the total body enhancement and the worker Billy was extremely helpful. Billy answered all my questions and even took time out of his shift to walk back to the total body enhancement room and show me how the machine worked and all the features it has. He is always super welcoming when I enter the gym. I know it’s going to be a great workout when Billy is there.

My original review stands. Not much has changed. The staff is really good or they act like you're bothering them. But again it's close and you can't beat the price. Especially with the Black Card Club.

Some of the help is extremely nice and others you feel like they're bothered by you and I feel judged in a "no judgment " gym. But I will continue because it's close and I can't beat the price

This Planet Fitness is so dirty, while all the employees just stand behind the counter doing nothing. Garbages are always overflowing, paper towels are empty, huge dust balls all over and mirrors are filth, just to name a few things. Commerce location (home gym) currently under remodel. Visited this location last night for first time. I must say visiting this location made me really appreciate my home location. A big gym location in Waterford they have a ton of treadmills available in each room. The weight area is another big and useful area. Lockerrooms are big and have a ton of lockers available. Showers and toilets are also available. For the price it's definitely a good spot to work out. Not sure if they still do free pizza anymore. Still haven't seen pizza

Ive been coming here about 4 months now at least 4 days a week and this is the first time ive taken on fitness in my life. I have no plans to stop coming here anytime soon and i look forward to it even on my tired days! I genuinely enjoy being here. All of the machines work great, and the staff are incredibly nice. Dominick remembers my name and greets me every day by it and always says goodbye when i leave too. I even ran into him outside of the gym once at the grocery store and he remembered me. Really kind individual. Also ive been coming here long enough that I recognize alot of the people that come here too and they are also very nice and judgment free. Ive had plenty of moments where i go to try something new and have no idea what im doing and no one shoots me looks or something haha. Everyone starts somewhere and everyone here understands that and its really cool. Also they dont use that Lunk Alarm that ive heard so much about at planet fitness locations. No one here is really obnoxious and the staff are very lenient. 10/10 place, dont let your long time gym bro anti Planet Fitness friends talk you out of trying planet fitness. I cant speak for every location but if you were to start going to the gym, id recommend this specific location.

Don't be fooled by fake reviews. While these kids that work there are kind, they are also lazy. They stand around at the front counter. Talking with their friends, their entire shift. Nobody cleans. I've seen the same stuff all over the floor for days at a time and took notice. Alexa always calls me by name when I come in very friendly and help me through my membership. Yeah I've been in and out of the country but I started coming to the Waterford planet fitness in like 2014. Went away to the army, tried different locations but I came back and this is still the best managed location I have seen. (At the manager level) R.I.P Mike. Gone but not forgotten. The trainer is approachable and shows he wants to help whomever along their fitness journey. Knowledgeable and a genuine down to earth guy. Management here is incredible, the Gm and assistant are wonderful at managing the club, members, and any problems that come up. Cleanliness is above standard always. All the employees are nice, friendly, interactive, and of course professional. Each one bringing a different slice of personality to the party. The relationships formed between the staff members and club members is strong and both sides are very well received. My hope that corporate or who ever of non relivace to me caring sees the good people who work here and treats them with care and respect to protect the employees longevity in the company. They truly make this place a safe, clean, fun environment. Toxic leadership can ruin a gym. Protect this franchise from such influences and watch this gym continue to thrive. As someone who has been coming here over ten years it truly is my home gym. Don't change that. It's just a gym. Not that serious. Thanks.

This location is extremely dirty and not updated. Some of the equipment is rusty from obvious leaking ceilings. I am tempted to contact the public health department. Also, it smells very musty as it is highly likely due to active mold. Members constantly leave items in locked lockers overnight and/or permanently. Staff are never at the front desk. When you call the gym phone number to reach them, they come out from a room way in the back. I’ve never seen anyone clean this place.
You have steep competition in Commerce and good luck to you this gross place.

This gym is a Great Facility to work out at. The Equipment us always cleaned, dusted and maintained. The work out areas are kept clean and stocked with towels and spray to wipe down after you're done. The Black Card amenities are always clean and never crowded. A Great staff of friendly employees. I’ve been coming to this PF for almost 2.5 years and I have never had any issues. It is probably a cleaner PF than some I’ve been to especially on the weekends it seems. One of the familiar faces I see on weekends is Damjana who always seems to be smiling. I think she contributes greatly to the place as I feel like I usually see her walking around wiping things down or take garbage out all while being able to stop and greet members coming in and leaving. The staff in general are for the most part attentive and pleasant to deal with. Hence why I continue to come back. :)

I no longer live in Michigan, and this location is insisting I physically come in to that single specific location to delete my account. Even though I’ve tried to delete it, and they managed to charge four months since then, they provide absolutely no assistance in this issue, and are still billing me, and even started charging late fees once I noticed what was happening and didn’t input a new card once the last one expired. Truly could not be less helpful or proactive. Literally, the person I spoke to offered no alternative solution and sounded very tired and dismayed that I’d even ask. While working out today an elderly man was walking into PF and fell hard on the ice. I immediately informed the manager working and asked him if he should be checked on. I suggested putting more salt down as it was early and more people would be coming in. I tried to make this gym work for months, but finally I had to change locations. Most mornings there was no one at the desk but rather a sign in it's place of workers. Then when staff did come in they just hung out at the desk with friends when paper towels were out of paper towel to clean the machines. On a cleandly note i only ever saw 1 person ever clean once not to mention the smell when u go from one side to another! The paper towel dispencers hardly worked also. My final straw was how dirty the restrooms were the one time I ever needed to use them.

This gym is awful and disgusting. The only reason I kept coming here was of how close I live, it’s 24 hours and because James was an awesome manager. Now that he is gone this place has gotten even worse which I didn’t even think was possible. Almost every single one of the employees, especially the manager now, are beyond rude and unprofessional. After SEVERAL people started leaving locks on their lockers over night, for months, I put a lock on my locker and they singled me out and cut mine off after having it on for ONE night and have refused to give me another lock or refund my money. This is the dirtiest and smelliest gym I have ever been to in my entire life and I’ve been going to the gym for about 20 years now. None of the employees are ever cleaning, it’s always gross in here and stinks. We’ve gone to many different planet fitness locations and this is the WORST. If I could give zero stars I would. My husband and I will be changing our home gym and never will be coming here again. People like the ones who work here should have desk jobs because they are so awful and shouldn’t interact with anyone, ever. (I will add there have been a couple workers who have been awesome) But hey, cool for you power tripping at a planet fitness.

this location has gone downhill fast in the last year but especially the last few months. can’t seem to hire workers that actually want to work/keep this place a nice gym for people to workout in. the bathrooms are almost always dirty and you can usually find all employees (excluding billy and ian) just standing behind the desk not really doing much of anything. the rules are inconsistent and they seem to pick and choose who they enforce them on. the gym equipment is almost never in the places they should be and you can usually find another gym member reorganizing the cable attachments or putting benches back where they should be. the list goes on honestly…it’s unfortunate that this is forcing me and others to go seek memberships elsewhere that aren’t as affordable as PF.

Being very over weight I dreaded going to the gym to workout. Hubby took me to planet fitness, so glad I tried it. Place has no judgement zone, and I felt at ease working out. Lots of equipment, so no waiting for anything. Ample cleaning supplies and I saw others, like us, wiping down the equipment after use. Only negative was they charged us for a month we were out of town, but corrected after a couple conversations. We are retired, so working out during the day when I suspect equipment is less used.

I have been a Planet Fitness member for years. But, it was not until I had diabetes that I really took control of my weight and body. Planet Fitness has been there every step of the way. They have positive attitudes and with managers like, Jeremy, it makes working out and returning easier. Since late July of 2023. Clean and new equipment. I was excited to get the equipment here, but I don't think they are calibrated correctly. When I went from the old equipment to the new equipment, I noticed the weights changed by a lot. The new machines at other PF facilities were the same or much closer to the old machines. They are more difficult to use now.

Place is cheap to work out but the amenities are not that great. I brought a friend in on a day pass twice before with no problem, came in this week and was told that they needed to download the app to get a day pass. I was told it was new management and has always been police but this was not the process the first two time. Also can we get paper towel dispenser in the men's locker room. We are all adults and know how to use them properly.

I've been a PF member since about 2009 and still love it! It's just so simple. Great location. Affordable. It's not too busy. Friendly staff. The ability to cancel and re-join as needed, with very little hassle. LOVE THE TOTAL BODY machine! Such a huge perk to the Black Card Membership!

if you want to be charged $1000+ after you cancel your membership this is the place to go!! A staff member messed up and they will not take responsibility for it. Jeremey and Kaylee are the most terrible people we’ve ever had to deal with. I don’t understand how a business can possibly be ran with this kind of Management. Horrible behavior, horrible service and horrible communication. Do better!!!!!

Very bad experience. I would not recommend. New management and they allow the employees to do whatever they want to the customers. They humiliate you, they discriminate against you, and you can't defend yourself, because the employees can do whatever they want to you. It was the most judgmental place, and the worst Planet Fitness. If they look down on you, they just cancel you as a customer, and they allow the employees to say whatever they want to you, and you have to put up with it. They degrade the customers that they look down on. Even the manager said it would have been an uncomfortable situation that no customer would want to come back. She should have addressed the employees, but instead she turned on the customer, and defended the employees. They should have been fired, and they broke the policies, but they are allowed. I said I was offended, and they said they were allowed to offend me. They lie about customers. No respect was given for me.

Mostly new weight machines installed around 2022-23. Needs more dumbbell space.
Pretty busy location overall, and not as big as the others. Parking lot makes deep puddles when it rains, will soak your socks. Hard to avoid them.

Ask for the manager turned down the heatbecause people were complaining too hot including myself my breathing too heavy people at desk said they didn't know how to get ahold of the manager which is lie. It is 75 F right now which is too hot. I'm sure I will get the standard manager corporation reply that we try but what you need to do is turn down the heat to 72F. I have been coming here for years and this is first time I had trble breathing during my work out and the heat being too high. I am n59 years old and would think that would rate a real answer and solution other than a corporate mission statement reply from management

Updating my review from one star.

This is honestly not a bad place for the price. It could be better, but it could be worse, and the price is reasonable.

Some of the newer machines are not great - some are uncomfortably designed, some are uncomfortably aligned (e.g. not comfortable use if you're under 5'9"), but overall, not bad.

The parking is still not great - I wish they could move their entrance to the back of the building so they weren't competing with something like 6 nearby shops. I don't mind the walk itself, but it can get so cold in the winter, and post-workout it's really not fun.

In terms of people, I don't mind them. In case the previous users' review is not removed for hate speech, there isn't a gender bias. There are both groups of men and women that will sit around chatting, it can be annoying at times, but really it's only an issue if you think you're entitled to every inch of space in the gym at every moment. Who thinks that?

My PF club has so many awesome amenities and a great staff. It’s a really comfortable and friendly environment that feels like a spa day on top of a good work out. Any issues that come up, the staff takes care of and treats me like a friend. It’s hard to believe you get everything they have to offer at such a great price.
