I’ve been struggling to find a gym to get back into since having my baby. I must have called this location about 4-5 times to ask the same questions, and to be sure I was getting the same answers. Every time I called the person that answered the phone was nice and informative. I signed up same week and I’ve been here everyday since. It’s always clean, never crowded, doesn’t stink and it’s 24/7 access. My baby and I love the childcare room, we can peek at each other here and there while we’re here.

There’s also a a cafe attached for snacks, drinks and smoothies .

I like this gym. 24/7 and past 10pm it’s really quiet and they have more then enough machines and equipment to get a great workout in. I’m in ok shape but I decided to try out their personal trainer and I have to say that I’ve never had workouts like this in my life. I highly recommend Brady. This dude is an animal and genuinely strives for his clients. He is a great instructor and you tell him your idea and his plans are detailed and thorough. I’m 5’8, it’s been a childhood dream of mine to dunk a basketball and the explosive workouts we’ve been doing have transformed me physically and mentally. I strongly recommend trying a workout with him. Whether you’re fit or out of shape this dude will put you together. The management team is really friendly and they’re always open to conversation. The smoothie bar is Real solid and everyone is pleasant to work out with. I’ll give the gym facilities a 8.5/10 and the powerhouse team a 10/10

My husband and I have been members of Dearborn PowerHouse in Fairlane Mall for 3.5 years. The atmosphere is welcoming, and members, whether male or female, are considerate and encouraging. It’s not just guys on the weights and machines, but lots of women and young ladies, and people are respectful of each other. The equipment is in good shape, and hours (24/7) are convenient. Tariq, the manager, fostered a good atmosphere and enforced rules - re-rack your weights, no gym bags on the floor (there are plenty of lockers.) I feel so lucky to have such a great gym nearby.

I tried canceling my membership before a big yearly fee hit — thinking I was in the clear — only to find out they still charged me and claimed I needed to cancel 30 days before any billing. No one explained this upfront. I even spoke to two different staff members earlier who told me I’d be fine if I canceled in time. When I brought this up to the manager, Tarek, he acted like none of that mattered.

Bad news!!!! This gym are ripoffs!!! I am advising you now before you regret it. I tried to cancel my gym membership. They told me email them. I emailed them. No one replied. No one stopped it. I kept on going to the gym calling asking for supervisor or manager. They kept saying that the manager or supervisors is not available or is traveling out of state. I recently visited this gym for a day pass, and while the facility initially impressed me, my overall experience quickly turned into a complete nightmare. After a brief tour, I clearly stated that I was only looking to try out the gym for the day. Instead of respecting my choice, I felt an overwhelming barrage of pressure to sign up for a membership—something I have absolutely no interest in at this time.
When I said I preferred to stick with the $10-20 day pass, the male staff member had the audacity to question my decision, asking, “Why would you pay $10-20 when you could just put that towards a $150-160 membership?” This completely disregarded my financial situation and felt not only condescending but also demeaning. Despite my multiple refusals, he continued to push, insisting I could pay in two weeks willing to accommodate me just for me to get a membership . It’s bewildering that he couldn’t understand that I simply cannot afford that kind of commitment right now.
As a female, I found this exchange particularly distressing. No woman should have to endure harassment or pressure from a male staff member, especially in a setting meant for health and wellbeing. When I finally went back to retrieve my ID to use the day pass, he continued his relentless pursuit by attempting to obtain my bank account information for a membership. This behavior is not just inappropriate; it is an alarming violation of personal boundaries that makes the environment feel threatening.
I am utterly disgusted by how this situation was handled. It’s shocking that in today’s society, a female customer can be subjected to such disrespect and pressure tactics. This experience has showcased a blatant lack of professionalism and understanding of how to treat patrons with dignity, especially women, who deserve to feel safe and respected.
Given their history of responding nastily to other negative reviews, I fully expect backlash to my feedback as well. If you're seeking a gym that respects your choices, financial situation, and basic human dignity, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. Many upgrades to the equipment since it first opening as a Powerhouse. There is a good variety so you can find what you are looking for. I like the heavy bags and the selection of Hammer Strength equipment. Members are pretty friendly. Only thing I would give 3 stars is the crowd during peak hours but every gym has that but even during peak time you’re able to move around. It being 24 hours is a plus too. Best gym in Dearborn, don’t waste time or money at LA or planet fitness

Let’s be fair with this review. This gym is basic to the max. It lacks cleanliness. Not that the person doesn’t clean but the machines need to be sprayed cleaned, some need to be repaired and oiled. All this is very important to keep a gym going. It’s also in the mall. So you have to pass through an obstacle to get in because there after hours entrance is closed. Why not just leave it open? Today, I stopped by the Powerhouse branch at Fairlane Mall and asked if my 3-year-old son could use the restroom. The front desk informed me that there was a restroom next door downstairs at a neighboring store. Naturally, with a 3-year-old, we rushed over. It’s Saturday December 23rd 2023 , about 7PM. I went inside to TRY and use the bathroom and check the gym out being that my boyfriend is searching for a gym to join. I asked could i use the restroom and he informed me that they weren’t “PUBLIC RESTROOMS” so i offered to buy something and how much the membership was AT LEAST he literally told me “NO” I’m at the mall doing last minute Christmas shopping and i just got off work , my hair was in a messy bun and he looked at me as if i was filth. I'm amending my review as I have been here for quite some time now, and I think there has been significant enough improvement to the point where I can give this gym a much better review.

The gym is always clean which is a huge plus. The management has really tightened up, and we've seen some noticeable upgrades to the equipment.

When equipment inevitably breaks down, it's up pretty quick so long as it's brought up to staff. The sauna is usually hot ~90% of the time, which really helps jump start a workout with a good sweat and amplified heart rate.

Overall, I'd recommend this place now. It's a solid gym. :)

I was charged an extra fee for someone who entered the GYM after I opened the back door (24 hours access). I contacted the management team multiple times and explained to them that I did not know that person, and I should not be preventing other people from entering after I use my access to open the back door. They kept telling me that we will speak to the owner and you will receive your money back. Unfortunately, I wasted energy and time following up with the management team with no resolution. I had to cancel membership.

Scammers, they will overcharge you every month, claim your card failed to go through the first time and charge a extra $16. Save your time if I can give 0 stars I would. The manager Tarek has never woke up on the right side of the bed go speak to him yourself, horrible for business stay away.

Do not join this gym. Fraud! I canceled in November 2022 and they still wanted to charge me in December for another month. I have never seen this level of unprofessionalism anywhere. I even opted for the $50 a month when I first joined so that I cancel anytime. And still they want to push a charge on me for another month. Not good. Join at your OWN RISK.

Edit update: OMG I just saw that I wasn’t the only one who got scammed for another month!! READ THE REVIEWS - more people were scammed!

Update: Power House Gym Dearborn just referred to me as a “bully.” It’s a clever way to divert attention from the fact that they’re professional scammers.

Hands down my favorite gym I’ve ever worked out at. This facility is beyond sanitary and always has a cleaning crew on deck. Aesthetically it is very pleasing and offers an abundance of modern day machinery .The vibes are great. Sometimes it’s hard to find a gym you feel comfortable at but that’s not the case at power house the aura is welcoming and warm. Highly recommend.
