My favorite gym! THE BEST Group exercise classes for strengthening and conditioning. I've been attending classes for 3 months now and have seen incredible results, I've become noticeably toned and increased all the weights I was lifting.
I've been an athlete involved in running, skiing, volleyball and rock climbing and finally found a gym where I enjoy thr strength training 💪 scotty does an amazing job keeping everyone engaged adjusting exercises for your skill level

Stopped in for a personal training session with Scotty, and had a fantastic time. The facility is very clean, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and are all very clearly passionate about what they do. They demonstrate proper form, and push you to your limits to get the best possible results. I'm looking forward to starting classes so I can take the next step in my journey to become healthier.

Over the past 8 years, I’ve tried or been a member at several different gyms in the metro Detroit area, and I can say with 100% certainty that Stomping Grounds has been my favorite one so far.

The classes are well designed and cater to folks with a wide array of experience and fitness levels. Not only do they offer a great workout, but they are genuinely fun to attend and offer a sense of community that I haven’t ever witnessed in a gym before. Scotty and his team take the utmost care to ensure that their clients are working out in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment, while still making sure that we’re getting the results we seek for our fitness.

I’ve been lifting weights and regularly going to the gym for over 15 years, and I have never felt stronger and healthier than I do after I started going to Stomping Grounds. It feels like everyone in the class is my biggest cheerleader, and I have made friends here who continue to push me to be a healthier version of myself everyday.

Scotty and his crew are building something magical here - and I’m glad that I get to be a part of it.

This is the absolute best gym in town. I recommend Scotty’s classes to everyone I know. The community they’ve created here is really something special and I have not experienced any gym as welcoming as this place before. Scotty does a really great job at leading the class as a whole while simultaneously making sure every individual is meeting their goals and using the correct technique. Truly a one of a kind place.

I started strength training at Stomping Grounds when I was in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy. Scotty has trained numerous pregnant women and will provide alternate exercises for safety. I really appreciate that the strength classes are focused on heavy lifting and include exercises with the barbell, trap bar etc. It is a great class for beginners and for those who are advanced. Besides a great workout, I do enjoy the social aspect of working with everyone else at gym. It is a fun environment and it's the longest I've ever stuck to a program.

YES! Small class sizes lend to a more personal, refined instruction. The workouts are scalable, constructive, well planned and the atmosphere is familial! Scotty and his wife have created a well needed new functional strength training gym in the Royal Oak area. All classes are challenging yet they encourage you to go at your own pace. Scotty is really great at pushing you to your limit - whatever that may be. Classes are really small so individual attention is available.

I have NEVER enjoyed working out until now. The last time I trained for something was 20 years ago in high school soccer. There are no words to describe what Scotty Johnson has meant to me, my husband and my daughter on our fitness journey. He is the best trainer I’ve ever had and in a fitness heavy place like Miami, Scotty is someone truly special. I had the opportunity to train with Scotty for over 5 years in Florida. No one can come even remotely close to his level and dedication to fitness and training. He truly cares about his clients and is able to program a workout for any age and ability level. Before I started working with Scotty, I honestly never “worked out” and I hated a gym atmosphere. Training with him is more than just a work out. In the short amount of time that I have been working with Scotty, my endurance and strength have not only improved but my stability, knowledge and form in general.
