While visiting the area from downstate I did a Google search hoping to find a Crossfit gym that had a reasonable drop-in rate. $15 is more than reasonable, especially given that the YMCA charges $20. Kurtis is a great coach. I've been going to Crossfit for several years, but I still learned new exercise improvements from him during both classes I attended. I'll be back whenever I'm in the area for sure.

Do yourself a favor and drop in on one of Kurtis's crossfit classes.

I spend July on the Leelanau Peninsula every summer, but this summer was different I wanted to kickoff a fitness journey. I pictured myself finding a crossfit class and trying to maintain a routine of 3 days a week for the month. Not knowing what to expect I showed up to TC Crossfit on my first day, and stumbled into the best decision of my summer. Kurtis, "Kurt" was a force of nature at 7:30AM, bringing the energy and support while programming challenging workouts. I would consider myself a beginner when I joined, he took the time to coach me up and provided encouragement when I needed it as well as constructive feedback when it was warranted. After my first class I reported back to my family and all my siblings were hooked. We all took Kurt's 7:30AM crossfit class MWF and sometimes on other days if necessary. Each of us were at different levels of fitness and Kurt took the time help each of us out and modify workouts if necessary. I found myself making friends with the regular attendees in his class, everyone was so nice and supportive. As if the coaching and the vibes aren't enough, you can't beat his price either. $15 to drop in, $100 for the month. I quickly signed up for the month after my first class and I achieved my goal by attending his class 3-4x each week I was out here.
Picking up crossfit with Kurt, was one of the highlights of my summer.

TC CrossFit is awesome. The workouts are seriously good β€” challenging but super well thought out. Curtis, the owner, actually creates all the programming himself, and it shows. He’s also the coach and does a great job explaining everything, whether it’s the movements, pacing, or how to scale if needed.

The gym itself is really clean, and the equipment is top-notch. You can tell they care about keeping everything in great shape.

If you’re looking for a solid CrossFit gym with great coaching and a good vibe, definitely check out TC CrossFit. Highly recommend.

I really love this place. I use the TC Crossfit gym in the back, but with my unlimited CrossFit membership ($100 a month...which is a BARGAIN!!), I also get to use the front of the house which is the Elite Fitness gym (different membership rates for just using Elite Fitness. Ranges in the $40 to $50 a month...again, a super bargain!). Everybody is super nice.
I'm an older endurance athlete. I like the smaller class size I get with the 7:30 a.m. ET Crossfit class. It's almost like having a private one-on-one training session. And Kurtis is especially attentive to make sure we can modify the weights and/or movements to allow me the best workout for my abilities. Seriously, you can't go wrong here!

The coaches are great and the equipment is all there. You even have access to the machines at Elite fotness which is not like most crossfit gyms. There is something for everyone.

TC CrossFit has such an encouraging environment that makes it easy to stay consistent! I have been regularly attending classes for over 6 months now and it has been such a positive experience. The people are laid back and friendly which makes it easy for new and experienced athletes. The workouts are all scalable which ensures you’ll get out of it what you put in. I’ve enjoyed challenging my abilities under proper coaching to maximize my performance. Not to mention, the membership pricing is affordable in comparison to other CrossFit gyms in the area. I highly recommend TC CrossFit to anyone interested in trying something new!

I was in Traverse City for work for about 3 weeks and was looking for a box to drop in. TC Total CF had very generous open gym hours which worked for my work schedule. Christine was very helpful to let me know ahead of time from how to sign up to open gym rules. Even though I never got to drop into their regular classes I felt very safe and comfortable using their space/equipment to do my own programming. Some of the members I met were also super nice. So thank you for letting this out-of-towner drop in for these weeks. Looking forward to hopefully returning there and maybe joining those classes!

My boyfriend and I were in TC for vacation & decided to drop in for a class & check the place out. We are SO happy we did! The owners were warm and welcoming & the members followed suit. They have a great setup with tons of equipment, and they let us do our own thing (we dropped in for an open gym). If you live in the area, this is a gym I would choose for myself! We will definitely be back next summer 😊

Dropped in while on vacation & had an awesome experience. Kristi was very friendly, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable. My teenage daughter and I completed our own workout (from our home box) and Kristi supported us through its entirety. Felt like we never left home. We loved our time there.

TC Total CrossFit is not in a school gym so they must have moved since one of the reviewers visited. The coaches take the time to ensure that everyone does the lifts and moves properly. I love the commitment to their clients' proper form.

As the only Cross Fit gym in the area I had planned on paying and attending classes at Traverse City CrossFit for about two weeks. I had attended two classes paying the $20 drop in rate. The space was cool. An old Middle School gym that was being used for storage and the gymnasium had been turned into a CF gym. That was pretty neat. Enough space for 10 to 12 people and enough equipment. Even the trainers were well informed and good teachers.

The REASON I am giving TC Total Cross Fit two stars is because of the less than sincere "service" I was provided by the owner Scott.

After class at the end of my second visit I stuck around nearly 10 minutes after class to stretch because I wanted to be able to move the next day (and return to another class at TC Total CF). I was not the only person there after class and the instructor had not made it clear that we needed to clear out because class was over. So, I asked Jennifer if I could stay and stretch. She said, "of course."

I was on a box stretching underneath the pull up rig. Scott came in with two "elements" or "foundation" students going to teach them the basic moves. (Which is great, by the way, because not many gyms do this and throw new members into classes right away) Scott asked me to move because he was going to need the pull up rig to teach them pull ups. I gladly obliged and moved.

As a common gesture I asked if it was okay if I continued to stretch over "here" out of the way and he turned to me and said, "no you can go home" and turned his back to me. I would say I am a good judge of most social situations but I didn't understand what I did wrong.

So I decided not to come back. I knew he was the owner and he clearly didn't know me or cared to find out. Not only bad service but he was rude. That's all...
