I've been attending classes at The Mix Fitness studio for about a month now and I really like it. It helps me push myself in my workout journey, and when I wake up the next morning my body 100% know I attend class the evening before 😂. I've had Susan and Jocelyn as instructors so far and I've enjoyed them both. All of the staff that I've meant have been helpful, friendly, and welcoming.

I love the Mix Fitness Studios. The River Street location is right in Depot town. The classes are amazing! Trampoline (Bounce) is really great for cardio and it is so fun! The strength classes are really well thought out and I get a great workout. I love yoga here too! There are so many classes to choose from. The personal training and small group training is really life changing. The Mix feels like a community to me. It is a very supportive place and I always feel better after I take a class!! I can't say enough great things about my experiences here.

The Mix is my favorite place to workout! It is by far the nicest and most unique workout space I have ever been to. It is also professional, friendly & clean. The instructors are all wonderful and so are the classes they provide. I enjoy the variety and the flexibility with my schedule. I also like that there is something to do no matter how I feel that day. I can really push myself one day and the next I can recover and modify a workout as needed to keep moving.

I am taking a yoga class at The Mix with Joseph. The studio is a beautiful, modern space. The staff are warm, welcoming, and professional. The equipment all looks new and well maintained. It was a challenging class in a very soothing environment. Joseph is an especially adept yoga teacher (I've had my share!). He communicates well and challenges students without leaving them behind.

A wonderful, welcoming community! I've really enjoyed the Mix. The concept of 'mixing' up my fitnesses classes is genius! I love being able to try something new or take a variety of classes. The instructors are wonderful, the fellow class mates are super nice and welcoming. The studio space(s) are clean and well equipped, the space creates a great vibe with lots of good music and elements like mood lighting. The mix is more than just fitness, it's a community. There are optional fun events you can attend outside of the fitness classes. I'm really impressed with the Mix and excited to be part of it!

Although I don't live locally to the studios, I came across Mix when looking for a virtual option. I am a Fitness instructor myself and love being able to take a class on my own.I love Sarah's class. She is a great instructor, very encouraging and motivating. Also as a virtual option the class sound is one of the best I've ever taken. She gives lots of options for someone taking the class at home. Definitely recommend!

As someone with a phobia of group exercise classes, it’s saying a lot that I am excited to go back! Sarah and staff made me feel at home from the get go. I have been wanting to try a bounce class for over a year (I had both of my hips replaced in 2019 at 46, and am trying to find low impact exercises that I can do at my own pace and/or modifications). Not only did I feel good the next day, but I’m excited to go back and even try the dance classes. Highly recommend giving it a go.

I love this place! I have taken classes at both the cute River St studio and the stunning new Harriet St center. First, they have a great variety of classes. I also love that I can do class via zoom when I'm away. The quality of instructors is top notch! Instructions are clear, and they make sure I'm doing moves right. They ask the class and offer modifications when people have injuries or sore spots. They also make me laugh 🙂 (Shout out to Julia, Joe, Brad, and Joclyn.) The people taking classes are all shapes and ages, so it's not intimidating. (Although the older lady across from me the other day who didn't break a sweat when I was dying was 🔥) The owners are locals and lovely people. Give Mix a try. It's a great studio for anyone at any level, offers variety, and has instructors that will challenge you and really care. I'm so glad they're in my community ❤️

All of these classes have been carefully designed for accessibility and modifications for anyone needing them, and are highly effective at getting your heart rate up and ending feeling strong. I started at the Mix in December 2021 and have continued with a couple of morning strength training classes each week, and this is the first time I've stuck with exercise consistently. It's because of how thoughtful Sarah is by providing workout alternatives, helping guide better form, and meeting people where they are with their fitness. It might be hard to get up in the morning, but now I look forward to it because I feel better during the day and am getting stronger.

I LOVE this studio! I have really enjoyed becoming more comfortable and confident in strength training. I appreciate the attention and cuing of proper form. The variety of classes offered has become such a huge and unexpected bonus! This is a gem of a studio tucked into a unique space in Depot Town. I LOVED the Bounce class! You get your cardio while bouncing on a mini-trampoline to fun music, then relax and stretch your muscles with foam rollers for a cool-down. The instructors are top-notch, offering a varied workout, positive attitude, and gentle encouragement along the way. I felt instantly welcomed here, regardless of my level of fitness. I would definitely be a long-term member if I lived here! Sarah's level of personal involvement in the daily workings of the studio is evident - this feels like a very well-run and successful small business. Plus - they're such nice people! :)

Wow! I have never tried a trampoline class but always wanted to. I have done many types of workouts, but my watch told me I burned about 450 calories in about 35 mins! Great teacher who really takes the time to get to know your needs and makes you feel comfortable with the new type of workout. Start with Bounce 1 for sure. Not sure I’ll try bounce 2 for a while! Great workout and foam rolling was great!

I started taking classes this past September and it's the kind of local fitness studio I've been looking for and needing in my life it keep myself moving and getting stronger. This is a no-judgement zone with excellent teachers who know how to lead you and help you make adjustments and modify things based on your needs. I especially have appreciated the flexibility of offerings both in-person and outside (weather permitting) and virtual classes I can take in my home and still feel like I'm getting something from.

Found The Mix Fitness studio a couple weeks ago and love everything about it! Location is great - I can walk to the studio. For those driving, there is a parking lot nearby and ample street parking. I love the variety in classes offered. The owner (and other instructors) are all about doing what is right for your body today and not worrying about what others are doing. Exercises are easily tailored to everyone's ability and strength. I actually have fun doing things (push-ups) I used to hate! Ok fun might be a little bit of a stretch, but you get what I mean! :)

The Mix Fitness Studios is AMAZING! I am a retired professional modern dancer. Being in my 60s now, I need to keep up my strength and balance. I can only take class online because I live out of state and it is like I am in the room with Sarah. She provides helpful movement or positional corrections when needed. She is also praises me which feels great! Although I am in my home I love my class, we laugh and work hard together. My sister and brother also take class and get personal training at The Mix Fitness Studio, it has become a great way to get and stay healthy.

I love, love, LOVE The Mix studio. They have a variety of classes-so whether I feel like doing yoga, cardio, or strength training there is always a class that fits my needs. I became a member of The Mix Studios earlier this year and have really enjoyed it! I had a membership at another gym, but I had a hard time trying to stay motivated to go because I have "gym anxiety". I forced myself to try The Mix Studios because I thought getting a personal trainer would force me to stay motivated, and it definitely did!!! I went from barely working out to working out 5-6 days per week! They have GREAT pricing options, which is extremely helpful because I'm a poor graduate student lol. They also just started an ultimate membership package, which is a great deal so you should definitely check it out! I really enjoy working with my personal trainer, Becky, so I highly recommend her! I also thoroughly enjoy the virtual classes taught by Sarah, Becky, Gordy, Mukta, and Robin! I have been taking them on a weekly basis during the quarantine to stay active. Their studio genuinely wants to see their members succeed and I am so glad that I found a place that I love!

I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to join your exercise classes remotely during this COVID-19 crisis. I saw an article a couple of weeks ago that described different ways to stay active and there was a link to The Mix Studios website to sign up for two free courses. I signed up for both. I also decided to purchase a package to attend other courses as well. So far I've participated in three different types of classes remotely and plan to continue to do so. While there are so many YouTube videos and other options for exercising, I really need the commitment and accountability of a scheduled class and the interaction with an instructor to ensure I get the most out of the class and will actually do the exercises! So thank you for your innovative way to keep people active during this time, which has given me the opportunity to start being more active again! The classes are great!

This place is great! Such a fun variety of classes with welcoming people makes exercising something I no longer dread! Bounce & Burn is unlike any other class I’ve done! Don’t let the trampoline aspect intimidate you, there are plenty of modifications for whatever your needs may be. During the class, the exercises rotate/change quickly enough that they are all manageable sets yet effective and it also makes the time go by FAST. Becky is great and has lots of jokes throughout to take your mind off “the burn”! The Mix Total Body is another great class with SO many modifications for ALL fitness levels. If you are recovering from an injury they are also happy to make modifications if needed, or if you need more of a challenge that’s also an option (but be careful what you wish for, Sarah can make it pretty tough!!) Also, in just about every class there’s usually a few exercises that Physical Therapists typically prescribe to most of their patients for their home exercise program to build a strong foundation. (If you’ve been to a PT you probably know these exercises are useful to prevent re-injuring yourself so this class makes it easy to check that box as well as getting a good workout in!) This studio also has the best/most fun Zumba classes I’ve ever been to!! I look forward to trying any new classes that are added because I have yet to find one I didn’t like! If you’re considering trying out The Mix Studios I would HIGHLY recommend it no matter who you are or what physical fitness level you’re at, if you want a great workout that is fun at the same time, this place is for you!

I have tried a lot of different workout studios and trainers, and The Mix is one of the best studios and Sarah is my favorite trainer. Mix Total Body is such a fun workout and it’s different every time. This is awesome for me because I get bored doing the same workouts. I have also tried Bounce and Burn (trampoline class) a couple of times and thought it was a great cardio workout. I am not a huge cardio fan, but this class is super fun and doesn’t even feel like you’re working out!

I really liked this place a lot! I walked in and was instantly welcomed. Everyone we interacted with was super down to earth, too.
I met a friend there to try out Zumba. It’s an insane workout and really fun, but the instructor Kedesha (sp.?) was so fun that it didn’t contrantly feel like work.
I may wait for a sweet deal, but I will definitely be signing up. I feel like so many places in Ann Arbor forget the substance in lieu of the shimmer... I prefer the substance.

I signed up for Personal Training sessions at the Mix Studios, and Sarah was very understanding and yet practical about my goals, and paired me up with a great Personal Trainer, Mary. I had been working out but had not been seeing the results I wanted, so Mary put me on the right track and customized my training towards my most important goals. A regular frequency of sessions combined with managing my diet helped me see effective results within the first month, but more importantly, I learnt a lot from Sarah and Mary well beyond the training sessions. I was given a lot of additional guidance and exercises, and Mary identified my weakest areas (my core, of course!), and taught me various routines and exercises and variations, while explaining in detail what the effectiveness of certain routines are. Mary was also careful about form and always erred on the safe side to prevent injury. In addition to the personal training, I like the mix of group classes offered here too - there’s quite a variety! I would be continuing at the Mix Studios, except that I had to move out of Ann Arbor!

I had a great personal training session with Sarah. She is very patient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. She gave me much helpful info and exercises and stretches to do at home, which have helped me a great deal. Her new studio is bright and pleasant.

Sarah is an amazing trainer and fitness instructor! She's intelligent, knowledgeable, empathetic and very motivating - she will encourage you do your best while keeping track of your progress and whatever accommodations you might need in order to successfully complete the exercise. Sarah encourages you to work hard, improve and responsibly explore the boundaries of your abilities! The studio is centrally located with great parking. It's an attractive, pleasant and functional workout space with a wide variety of well-maintained equipment. Her group classes are really fun and interesting, and the time passes quickly. Sarah does a lot of research and is often introducing new ideas and exercises. Before you know it, class is over, and you're awake and feeling good!

My favorite option for exercising in Ann Arbor. Sarah and her team are absolutely amazing. She will work with you on accomplishing your goals, whether it be weight loss, strength training, or running. She is truly professional and wants the best for her clients. Would highly recommend her studio!

I do personal "remote" training with Sarah. I live in California, and I have a super busy schedule was a working mom of 2 little kids. Sarah and I meet over a video conference call, then she provides a customized workout plan for me to follow until our next conference call. My family and coworkers have noticed that I am getting toned, and I am feeling more fit and stronger. This is the longest I've stayed with any fitness routine, and I am absolutely loving it. Thanks, Sarah!

Miranda is an excellent exercise instructor who is very knowledgeable. It really helps knowing what positions you should have your body in when going through the exercises. I am very pleased with the environment and it helps Miranda has a great attitude and is very fun about exercise. I will be coming to many more classes.

I haven't taken many exercise classes before and I absolutely loved Miranda's classes. She assesses who is in her class and to what level she should run the class in. You leave sweaty, happy, and fulfilled! She also teaches you a lot about what is going on with your body, how to do the exercises with the right form, and when to breath which all help you get the best, most efficient work-out possible. The venue is very cute and quaint also, sometimes the big gyms or big fitness clubs are overwhelming. I love Miranda and anyone who joins her classes will too!

Miranda is an energetic, knowledgeable, and fun exercise instructor. She describes the correct way to do the excercises while explaining all the muscles that are being worked in each movement. I love her classes and always feel like I've gotten a full-body workout. Mix Studios is a homey and personal exercise venue and I will definitely be going back!
