BEST WORKOUT!!! I tried my first class this morning while in the area visiting family. Amazing workout!! Beautiful facility, kind and genuine staff and members. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The lemon water is the perfect way to end a great workout!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a supportive and uplifting community on any fitness/wellness journey!!!

A friend brought me to a class during open week and WOW--- I can't get over how amazing the community/workout/vibes were. I've been apart of group fitness studios forever... f45/crossfit/etc and this is the best workout and community I've ever experienced. Can't wait to be back!! Truly a special place, so welcoming, the opposite of intimidating. If youre on the fence, be sure to give it a try and know you'll be met by some of the kindest people ever :)

I’ve been going to TYG Grand Haven since they opened in March 2025. I’ve been a member of other group fitness facilities and even PF, but TYG is bringing my fitness to a whole new level. The option to choose between TURF (cardio) and RIG (strength) lets me do what I feel is best for my body on a day to day basis.
I love the RIG sessions and the intentional programming behind it. With this structure I have seen improvement on my heavy lifts (dead lifts, back squats, bench press, and hip thrusts) and have been hitting PR after PR!
I also LOVE the Pilates class they offer. Who knew that Pilates would be so challenging? But feeling a workout in the little muscles that support my body has me coming back week after week and I’m sad when I have to miss a class.
The community there is so welcoming and supportive and one of the best ways I’ve connected with others is during RUN CLUB. Usually I’m the slowest in the pack, but love that it’s open to everyone no matter their pace!
Last but not least, the BEST part about TYG? The coaches! They are all so knowledgeable about form and function and not only provide support through correction, modification, or spotting heavy lifts, but also provide support through encouragement and pushing us to be a little bit better each time we walk through those doors.

Best full body workout ever - strength, cardio, stretching, they do it all!! Super nice people, too, very social and welcoming environment. The instructors are very professional, push you just enough without putting you over the limit.
When I started three weeks ago, I did not come with good cardio. I had a hard time keeping up the first few sessions, couldn’t finish most of the sets, but that is when instructors - and even other members - are there to encourage you with a smile and a “you got this”, “you will get there” or “I remember when I first started” to keep your spirits high. In the short time that I have been a member, I experienced a significant boost in my energy level, flexibility and focus at work.
It’s an investment in your well being, both physical and mental. I encourage you to come check it out if you’re reading this - two free trial sessions (no credit card) and I am sure you will be the next person writing a similar review!!!

Easily the best strength training I’ve ever seen in a group fitness class. The turf sessions are fun and intense. Having the option of turf and rig is great, and with the addition of run club and mat palates, all your bases are covered. And of course the most important of all, the coaches are the best!

I’ve been a member since it opened in March 2025, and the group classes keep me motivated and accountable. The programming is consistently challenging with a great balance of strength and cardio, and I’ve seen real progress. The entire staff is friendly and helpful, and the trainers are knowledgeable, attentive, and encouraging. Many workouts pair you up or put you in small groups, which makes it easy to meet people and build real camaraderie while working toward a shared goal. In my mid-50s, I’m in as good—or better—shape than I’ve been in the last 30 years. If you’re looking for a welcoming community that pushes you to be your best, The Yard Gym is it.

I’ve heard people say “Health is wealth” and thought it was just another cliche.
The Yard just gave that cliche a whole new meaning. I feel like I am literally 20 years younger.
Cannot say enough good things about the staff and the community. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable. I’ve been doing a few workouts wrong for years and never knew it.
If your health is important to you, I would highly recommend doing a trial at the Yard.

This gym is the real deal! I have been involved in the "group fitness" scene for 8 years now and this gym is by far the most balanced and goal driven way to train. It is masterful! It is for all fitness levels. If you are brand new to the scene or been around for years. It will challenge you and build you up! The trainers are top notch. Their attention to form and protecting you from self injury is next level. They are kind and want you to become whatever version of yourself you want to be!

I’ve worked out at 3 different “group fitness” gyms over the last dozen years. The Yard is by far the best, the workouts are intentional and challenging. The coaches are always there to help with form and if need be modification. The gym is clean with good high quality equipment. Do I recommend the Yard? Yeah, but only if you’re serious about self improvement and want to work hard. :)

Why I love TYG:
1. Moving over from the Purple Palace (Planet Fitness), it’s been so refreshing to have trainers who actually look like trainers… Do what I do kind of community, not just do what I say.
2. Working out with likeminded killers is what I have been looking for.
3. The workouts are difficult, but you get through them.
4. It’s got all the good from CrossFit, without those break your back movements that are synonymous with CrossFit.
5. It’s a community, not a religion.
6. I think it’s the biggest disruptor to the fitness industry since CrossFit was introduced, F45 tried but did not keep up with the times, as long as TYG can keep up with the evolution of fitness and the ever changing aesthetics of consumers, this will be a game changer.
7. A great place to meet and network with likeminded people who want more from life, be that physically or professionally.

The Yard Gym in Grand Haven is my FAVORITE place to start my day. In just a few months, I’ve gained so much strength! I’ve exercised regularly for about 3 years, but the programming here really demonstrates your improvements through the align, base, gain, and perform phases. It’s easy to track your personal improvements and it’s so motivating to see what you can accomplish. The coaching is next level, not only are these people skilled, but they’re friendly and the BEST hype squad around! They also practice what they preach! I used to struggle with shoulder dysfunction with exercise, but since joining The Yard, I’ve not had any problems whatsoever because the movements are programmed to balance both anterior and posterior muscles and they pair amazing accessories that help you work the small stabilizing muscles! I love the RIG strength sessions, but TURF is amazing too! I cannot say enough about how awesome TYG is! Can’t wait for the Holland location to open!

I cannot say enough great things about this gym! It’s incredible, it’s hard, and it is no joke! I feel like I took it another level up with this gym. The format and the coaches are great with showing you and helping you with form and adjusting if you need modifications.
There has never been a day that I’ve walked out of there thinking it was easy. It’s the push I need physically and it’s the community I desire for the mental push as well!
I would recommend anyone wanting to live the fit and healthy lifestyle to give this gym a try and see for yourself. I’m 48 years old and I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life.
