I can’t say enough good things about the Yoga Garden instructors. I had very little yoga experience before coming to this studio, but my wife Carol is a long-time student of yoga. When she started attending classes, she kept telling me how much she likes Steph, Raina, Jack, Martin, and really all of the instructors. Carol just turned 50, she had thought her daredevil days were over, but in the last six months she has been progressively doing more and more difficult poses. I don’t think she had attempted a handstand since she was 5 years old. But yesterday I looked over as we were both in class; there she was, standing on her hands. At this point she is doing it without the support of a wall. I actually was not shocked because since she has been attending these classes her physical fitness and her willingness to try harder and harder poses has been inspiring. Before I was a student I began witnessing this transformation, and I got curious, so I decided to attend a class or two and see if it could work for me.
I did have some yoga experience before this, but not much. I am the least flexible person in yoga class, maybe the least flexible person in all of Oakland County. If not Oakland County… Just kidding, I’ll stop. But no kidding; I am really, really, really, really inflexible. Somehow the instructors graciously overlook this fact and always meet me where I am at. That is the really great part about this studio. Whatever your level of fitness is they will meet where you are and make you stronger. This place can take you from 0-100. After a few months I am beginning to work on handstands myself. Believe me, I never thought I would be doing that. If you can’t keep up with the class pace, all of the instructors encourage you to rest when you need it. I have never felt judged for this. You are constantly reminded to focus on meeting your own edge. There are tons of really fit people in these classes and I have gotten a lot of positive encouragement from several of them too.
Carol and I moved from Seattle a few years ago, when we did, I basically quit exercising. That is because in the years I lived in Seattle I grew to love the mountains and I hiked regularly, I didn’t really think of hiking as exercise despite the fact that the workout was great. I just loved being out in the mountains and hiking along with training for hiking in the off season kept me physically healthy. I feel like I have finally found exercise that I enjoy again. It is really helping me deal with a stressful job, and with this stressful world we live in.
P.S. The instructors aren’t Woo-Woo. And I see this a positive, actually it’s a must have for me. The focus is on fitness and mindfulness.

The Yoga Garden has been my home and sanctuary for several years. It's comprised of a lovely community of people - they're neighbors and fellow practitioners that become our friends and chosen family. We're all unique and perfectly imperfect, but we come to our mats for common reasons - to learn and grow, to challenge ourselves, to practice self-care, and to find peace and equanimity. The owners and teachers demonstrate these daily tenets through kindness, inclusivity, knowledge, encouragement, and care for students at every step of their journey. There is no room for comparison or competition here; it's just great people supporting one another on and off their mats, and each day becoming better versions of themselves. And this is exactly what a beautiful yoga community should look like. <3

The Yoga Garden is truly a hidden gem. I’ve done CrossFit and strength training for many years and went here to try something new. The community is incredibly tight knit and welcoming to all practitioners. Being new to yoga, I was taken in immediately and the coaches went out of their way to ease me into the correct poses. I’ve tried yoga in the past but was always disappointed at the lack of instruction - not the case here. Excellent balance of teaching and freedom.
And man is it a work out. There are several classes to choose from and you can really get whatever type of fitness you want out of it. I have already brought in a few of my CrossFit friends and would recommend to anyone.

I’ve been attending classes at The Yoga Garden consistently for about 3 years now, and I couldn’t be more impressed! The instructors are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly welcoming and attentive to each student's needs. The studio has a peaceful and calming atmosphere, making it the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with your body and mind. I’ve noticed significant improvements in my flexibility, strength, and overall well-being since joining. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced yogi, this studio offers something for everyone.

YG is a top-notch yoga studio! I live an hour away, and I learned about the studio in 2020, during covid, from a yogi friend. This is when my journey with the YG studio began. They call me their "imaginary friend" because I have only attended via zoom so far. I have been doing yoga for almost 15 years now, and I assure you they are the best of the best! Every single instructor, whether it's a powerhouse wise guru Raina, a thoughtful and often hilarious Martin, a gentle and empathetic Steph, or any other ones - all are extremely passionate about their community well-being and individual journey of each participant. I love every single instructor and make sure I sign up for different classes to get a variety of experiences. I am often the only one who connects online, but still they make sure I feel included and valued. Super nice people! Great yoga! It's as good as it gets at a yoga studio!

I've been training at this studio for around 14 months and I can honestly say it's been the biggest improvement in my physical health in the last 20 years.
My overall body has never felt better despite having several prior knee and shoulder surgeries from years of college wrestling and competitive martial arts. Every instructor at the studio brings a different flavor to the classes, a different pace, a different energy, and I truly enjoy the environment they create.
I have recommended all of my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students to add yoga practice to their training, and I would recommend the same to any athletes reading this review no matter what sport you're involved in. Your flexibility and your dexterity at muscle extension will improve dramatically and you'll develop balance you never thought you could have.
Having spent almost 27 years in competitive sports from youth to college to professional submission grappling, I've been lucky to be around some of the best coaches and instructors in the world. Once I saw the passion and the knowledge from Raina, Steph, Martin, Krysti, Marissa, and Julia I could immediately tell I was in the right place.
They provide an experience for everyone, no matter your skill level. There are some very talented students and I feel happy to be around people who can lift me up and show me what's possible although not yet achievable.
Sunday morning 11am is a "can't miss" class and it will be for you, too!

Practice here if you like, but seriously consider taking YTT anywhere else- the organizational and personal skills of the Garden’s owner are an embarrassment. Even the owner’s business partner agreed with me that they’re an unkind person.
The Garden was my home yoga studio for 6 years. I stayed for so long because it’s a nice facility in a great location. Could hardly believe the sense of relief felt after finally walking away for greener pastures.
Another benefit to leaving is no longer seeing promotion for Fenix Ammunition, a gun business owned by Justin Nazaroff. Google it- truly bizarre. The Garden’s owner got really pissed off and cursed at me for questioning the promotion for that gun business in the practice space. Am I the only one who still remembers the Tallahassee Hot Yoga mass shooting, or all the other shootings every year/month/week/day?

I never went to a yoga studio before going to the Yoga Garden. What started as a group of hockey pals getting together and learning the practice of yoga has turned into something more. I attribute this to the dedication of The Yoga Garden staff.
Raina is the Yogi during much of my group sessions. Her instruction, knowledge and patience are the reasons I will continue show up and better my yoga practice. Good Peeps. :-) Thanks for being an inspiration.

Really great community cultivated by the teachers and staff, particularly owners Raina, Martin and Stephanie, who lead most practices. All three have unique styles, allowing you to find the teacher that works best for you (though taking classes with all of them really adds balance to your yoga). Greatly appreciate the way they treat everyone with kindness and respect. I’ve been fortunate to call a few yoga studios home during my yoga journey, and this is a place I highly recommend to anyone from novice to experienced yogi.

I have been coming to this studio since they opened years ago, and have been to many others in the past. The Yoga Garden is by far the most welcoming and inclusive studio I have ever been to. Raina, Martin, Steph and the entire staff are incredibly attentive to the individual needs of their students and their studio feels like a second home. Each class is unique and can be tailored to all experience levels. If you are on the fence, I highly recommend you try it out- it is a phenomenal studio and community to be a part of.

The Yoga Garden is such a welcoming studio and has enriched my life in countless ways! The practice challenges, heals, and creates space to grow. Each teacher brings personal care, connection, and style to the classroom. This is an exceptionally run studio. The Yoga Garden provides beginners and advanced practitioners room to grow. The instructors are attentive to their students. They present options allowing for increasing levels of difficulty for those who want to take it while praising rest and reminding us to listen to what our bodies need. I really like the Yoga Garden. The instructors use there expertise to bring out the best in their students. The classes are challenging but options are always offered so you can modify for your own personal needs. It’s a no judgement zone with a lot of well placed encouragement.
I’ve gained flexibility in my shoulders and my husband, who was hesitant at first to join me, is now a fan.
I credit the instructors for their ability to respond to their students. I think they read their students well.
And I like my fellow students. I always leave feeling happy and a little taller😀

We are visiting from out of town and came to the studio for a good sweat and workout and we were not disappointed! We took a class with Krysti and it was so amazing! She had a great mix of classic yoga with a modern take, breath work, classic poses with strengthening movements blended into the class. The music was fun and upbeat but yet still kept you grounded. When we come into town we will be looking to take our next class with her! My husband loved it as well.

A very nice studio in Beverly Hills. Spacious, clean and modern. Raina, the owner, is a "veteran" teacher in yoga community. Her classes are challenging, yet fun. Recently I took an arm balancing workshop which I enjoyed it a lot. Raina made the class accessible to beginners and interesting for all the other levels. I recommend the studio to all who would like to try yoga or returning after a hiatus.

Great studio!
Wanted to find a space to practice that was taking precautions during covid and this was a great find. Very accommodating with great extras like a rental space to keep your mat if you don’t want to tote it from Your house and car all the time. Can even get an extra space heater to use in class if you want to sweat extra that day.
Have been very impressed with class selection, flow of the studio and respectfulness of staff and members alike. Happy to have found this studio.

I love the yoga garden. The instructors are great at immediately connecting with you, learning your name, respecting your boundaries (they will not do physical adjustments if you don't want them but they're lovely!), and helping you feel welcome and comfortable. I didn't realize that all of the classes were hot before signing up but I've found that I love it. I was worried about it because I was experiencing a lot of hot flashes at the time but I think that it may have somehow helped my hot flashes get better. The classes are at consistent times that work really well with my schedule and the studio is beautiful and clean. I highly recommend it to people all the time and the new student special is really too good to pass up.

The Yoga Garden is an incredibly special place. The teachers are all wonderful—they are supportive, kind, inspiring and motivating. The community is warm and welcoming. I started practicing here about 3 years ago and had very little experience. While I felt self-conscious at other places I had tried (I am totally inflexible and barely knew yoga poses), I felt like I could just be myself at the Yoga Garden. Everyone practices at his/her own level and there is no judgement, just encouragement to try to do your best in the studio and to then take that attitude out into the world when you leave. You will be challenged no matter your level of experience. The music is great, and not what you may typically associate with “Yoga”. After each class, I feel stronger, more flexible, better about myself, and have gained a sense of peace that I don’t think I could have achieved any other way. I cannot recommend the Yoga Garden highly enough!

I am a runner and rock climber so I knew yoga could help me build flexibility and strength to get better at those activities. However, I struggled to find a studio that made yoga tolerable. THIS is the best yoga I have ever done. They offer a great range of classes. I love all the teachers. I can't imagine doing yoga anywhere else. Quality instruction, a friendly yoga community, and a lifestyle activity that no matter your age will improve your quality of life, energy level, mental outlook and overall flexibility. Started yoga at 69 and highly recommend the Yoga Garden. My preferred form of Yoga is the Slow Burn which (for the past two years) has increased my flexibility, strengthened my core and if practiced regularly will help you keep off excess weight. Have always been very active and yoga has significantly helped me manage my sciatic as I’ve aged.

This is my FAVORITE yoga studio, and I have been to quite a few over the years. I love everything about it. The ambiance, instructors, variety of yoga classes offered, easy parking and it’s toasty warm but not so hot that you think you might pass out. The class size is nice, not too crowded, they offer the option of Zoom classes if you want to practice from home, and I love the music they play. I prefer Slow Flow, Restorative and Yin Yoga classes but they have a lot of Vinyasa classes as well.
I always feel so good after I attend a yoga class at Yoga Garden, especially having the in-studio experience. I like the energy of being in a classroom setting, with other people and a great instructor that acknowledges your presence in a sincere way and makes adjustments for me to ensure proper alignment , as needed. Best yoga studio I have had the pleasure of attending! Amazing instructors, variety of advanced and beginner classes as well as varying intensities/types of yoga, depending on what you're seeking out (workout, meditation, Yin, slow or fast flows). Everyone from the front desk, to instructors, and other yogi's are warm, friendly, and make the studio feel like home. Newly renovated and gorgeous space - always feels clean. Area in the back of the studio has yoga towels, apparel, etc for sale. Mats and towels can be borrowed for small fee, for those that don't have their own. Mat storage and cleaning available for yogi's wanting to leave theirs at the studio and not have to lug it around. A shower is available and two bathrooms -also, ample parking in lot (a huge plus for those used to living in places such as Ann Arbor like myself...). Occasional special events offered at the studio to deepen and expand your practice, as well as tropical destination yoga retreats hosted by Raina and Martin 2-3 times a year. I recently moved out of town and have been to multiple other yoga studios...but have yet to find a place that I love as much as The Yoga Garden. Try a class here and you won't regret it!
