My kiddos were in D1 for fall 2023 and competed in the State competition in Novi, MI. They had practice weekly and I occasionally got to go in, along with the other parents, and watch their routine. One of my daughters was lifted and the other had to be stepped on to help lift. She complained quite a lot about how badly the girls' shoe hurt her bare leg (when wearing shorts) so I had her start wearing leggings. They do fun dress up days for holidays and there's a sense of family. At competition, I was surprised when my daughter who was lifted every week durimg practice was not lifted but helped lift.
Both of my kiddos decided to stop doing cheer for now and participate in other sports. One thing I think could benefit this group is not allowing students who don't attend practice to attend major competitions. I think it hurt us and was why we got 4th place, a few girls didn't attend practice much and had no idea what they were doing.
Overall, my kiddos had fun and enjoyed it. I told them whenever they want to try cheer again to let me know! Thank you Champion Force!
