About the Club

I developed the AX Fitness program in 2011 and designed AX to offer a total body workout that increases functional strength, cardio capacity, muscular endurance, and metabolic rate. My training utilizes MAX interval training by creatively implementing a variety of strength training, body weight, HIIT and tabata style exercises. Workouts change each week, so that your body doesn't plateau and you continue to see and feel results. I have worked with a wide range of individuals from high school and college athletes to senior fitness classes and everyone in between. If you want to see serious results and have fun, my unique programs can benefit your body in ways that you have never experienced before.

Every time I go to AX I get challenged in the best possible way. I have seen so many fitness gains since I started going and I have recommended it to so many people. If you are looking for a fantastic workout in a fun environment I couldn't recommend AX enough.

Christine is an amazing trainer and excellent coach. She is so incredibly nice and patient when you start and learns how best to motivate you during workouts. She has amazing workouts each week I go and it’s never the same workouts twice which I personally love. If I’m finding a drill hard or am struggling, she helps me either figure how to do the drill more efficiently or adjusts the drill to suit my body better. I can’t recommend her enough because she really is that good!

Christine is the best trainer I’ve ever had. She pushes me to do my best but within an inclusive atmosphere where I feel like I can be myself and adapt workouts when necessary. I’ve gotten multiple comments about how much stronger I look/am since I started training with her a year ago. I do personal training and workout classes at Ax Fitness and both are a wonderful way to have fun and meet your workout goals.

I've tried all the various offerings that Christine has at Ax Fitness and I can honestly say- you can't go wrong with any of her classes or personal training sessions.

Personal training is awesome in that you get the one-on-one attention and can focus on your individualized goals, try new things without an audience, and have the whole gym to yourself! On the other hand, classes are nice for making connections and sweating it out in a group setting. My favorite was Cardio Kickboxing because I had never worn boxing gloves or punched anything other than the air prior to class. It was really exhilarating to feel the resistance of the punching bag. I will definitely be back for lots more of that! I also enjoy BrewFit Social where you put in the hard physical work then reward yourself with a local beer alongside new friends you've likely made at class.

I'm 45 and came to Christine with a focus on strength training and muscle retention. She listened to my health and fitness goals, made me a personalized plan that pushes my comfort zones but is achievable- and I actually enjoy working out a lot more since I joined Ax Fitness. My partner does personal training with Christine as well and the progress they have made together is amazing. This neighborhood gym is a fantastic asset to the community.

Would highly recommend checking out Ax group classes! I've been going to this location for over a year and previously worked with Christine at her old gym in Northeast for a few years. This gym is in a converted garage, so the classes are small and inclusive. The workouts are great - there's a mix of weights, cardio, and body weight. My body feel super strong compared to a year ago. Christine offers modifications as needed - when I broke my hand (not at Ax), I could still attend group classes and get in a good workout. Ax also offers buddy and personal training. It's so lovely to have Christine and Ax in the Nokomis neighborhood!

I've been going to AX Fitness weekly since October and I love it. There is a mix of classes; all are challenging, varied workouts that have you feeling stronger every time. Christine has pushed me more than I would ever push myself working out alone, but she always offers modifications when appropriate. I had an ankle injury this fall and she made the classes work for me, no questions asked.
If you love a mix of strength and cardio, and know you need someone to keep you accountable (like I do), this is the place.

I've been going to Ax Fitness for a few months and I'm hooked. Christine has years of experience and I know she's worked with all ages and fitness levels. She takes a lot of care to plan workouts that change every time to make them really effective and interesting. My life had been pretty sedentary the last few years so I was starting at square one. The workouts are definitely challenging for me, but in the best way! It's really fun when you realize the weights you've been using are too light and you have to grab heavier ones. Plus, being able to work out on my lunch break gives me back time in the evening to spend with my family.

Like most people, my life is busy. I need a total body workout that gets results, without spending hours at the gym. The variety of the workouts here and the motivation from the trainers are the perfect combination for keeping me in shape. Love this place. The workouts are AMAZING - they push me physically, but are super dynamic and offer a ton of variety, which makes every session super engaging.
