I’m passionate about educating parents like you to enhance your physical fitness and improve your well-being. I combine foundational fitness principles with cutting edge techniques to help reduce pain, increase strength, and help clients feel and move better. Being a parent myself, I know the importance of being able to get results from the time you're spending in the gym. My goal is to provide efficient and effective training plans that allow you to live your life to the fullest, and enjoy the time you get to spend with your family.

Matt is great! As a person with a larger body, starting off an exercise routine (especially one on one with someone fit) can be overwhelming and intimidating. I did NOT have that experience here. I felt welcomed and encouraged. He explains things really well and offers modifications to make things easier AND harder. Additionally, he is just a nice person with a great attitude.

I cannot say enough good things about Matt. My teenage son trained with him this summer and the progress has been amazing. He’s not only stronger and more athletic, but also more confident in himself.

Matt makes workouts fun while still pushing him to do his best. He’s super encouraging and really knows how to connect with kids/teens. My son always looked forward to his sessions with Matt. I reached out to Matt when I needed a boost in accountability to keep up with my personal fitness. I’d had the pleasure of working with Matt when he was a group fitness trainer at a gym I attended previously and therefore I knew he would provide the support I was looking for and I was not disappointed. Before our first session, I met with Matt to discuss my expectations and he was committed to helping me set realistic goals and hold me to them.
His approach is well balanced. What sets Matt apart from other trainers I have worked with is his incorporation of mobility in preparation for and in recovery from the workouts. He understands that fitness is more than just how strong you are. For each of our sessions, he gave me options and had modifications available as needed. I did a mix of in person and virtual workouts with Matt and his explanations and demonstrations for each method were clear and easy to follow. He tailored the workouts to my goals, which kept me invested and interested in the workouts. He checked in with me regularly, not just during our sessions, but even on days I didn’t have a session planned with him. Whether it was a quick text to see how I was doing with my nutrition or a reminder to stay on track with my workouts, his consistency made all the difference. He sought feedback often to make sure we were still headed in the right direction.
His genuine investment in my success pushed me to perform better. Having Matt to keep me accountable helped me recommit to my health and fitness. If you’re looking for a trainer who is not just about the workouts but about your overall journey, Matt is the one to go to. Matt does a great job breaking down each work out so you have a foundational understanding of the movements. In addtion to what parts of the body you are trying to work. He ensures that you are doing the exercises correctly as to avoid any injury that might come up. His approach to teaining as setting up an overall relationship rather than connecting just for that session is really refreshing. Working with Matt at CORE Fitness has been an incredible experience. It was a great way to get back into exercise without injury. Having been an athlete in the past, I'd tend to go hard into exercising again (likely incorrectly) and my body couldn't adjust quickly enough and more than often result in injury. With CORE fitness, I was able to (in parallel with a tough workout) understand the technical side of exercises and how to do them correctly. I'd recommend to anyone across all skill levels.

I have been working out with Matt for over a year now. I love the variety of workouts and how each workout and individual exercise can be modified to make things easier or harder depending on your level and capabilities. He checks in with me in between workouts to see how I’m doing/feeling after workouts and also to see how the workouts are going overall. I appreciate the flexibility of doing in-person or virtual (via Zoom) sessions. He has a fabulous gym in Apple Valley if you are able to go in-person but will adapt the virtual workouts depending on what equipment you have at home. He’s even done virtual sessions when I’ve been on vacation with little to no equipment. If you are looking to invest in yourself (which you should) and work with a personal trainer with extensive knowledge and passion, reach out to Matt.
