It looked very professional and slightly fancy. Very clean. They had free Water and salsa drinks coffee and tea.......BUT......The massages that I paid for my husband and I were one of the mill at best! I paid way too much for them. The only saving grace was that we both got to go into Our Respective locker rooms and get in the whirlpools!!!!!
The hot
Soak did me WAY more good than the massage!
I am extremely sensitive to touch but that massage was basically just rubbing my skin a little bit and pushing down on my shoulders.I paid for half an hour shoulder massage and my husband does A.Way better job in five minutes!!! We will not go back there!!!

A great perk for Mayo employees and families. A clean and inexpensive place to get a workout in if you're eligible to join.
The downsides are that it is downtown so unless you are already downtown, getting there and parking is a PITA. Can't wait for June to bike here when allergy season is done for me.
Most everyone who works here is friendly and helpful.

Really frustrated. Long time member here. Pay more money for less services. Parking is a huge issue. Today after rushing there for a 5pm class couldn't find parking anywhere. Finally find a spot. Rush in & change but class is full. Fine decide to hang out for a 5:30 class instead. 5:15 I go to bike studio and every bike is taken including 6 bikes that are being "saved". Mind, class doesn't start for 15 minutes. I explained to a guy that was saving 2 bikes that I should be able to use one of them since I was there and ready to work out and his friends were not. I told a staff member the same thing and she suggested I get a bike from another part of the building and pull it into the class. I decided to just use a bike on my own but did not know how to use any of the ones available and couldn't find staff to help me. Ended up going home. 6 bikes being saved!!!
How is that ok?

Used to be a great place.. they used to have towels for everyone.. got rid of it. They used to have locks on all the lockers.. got rid of it saying βwe want to be open 24/7 so we donβt want anyone to get locked outβ π someone is already there all the time weather itβs custodial staff or security (if thatβs even an issue people could just use common sense) however the biggest issue is the time. The pool and sauna used to be open until 11PM once upon a time. On the weekends I believe jt was 10PM not 11. Well now the sauna and pool work only till 7 on the weekdays and 3:30 on the weekends πππ I guess management got changed to someone who is incompetent because despite the facility becoming worse the price is the same. Long story short it used to have a real health club feel now it feels like Iβm going to the YMCA. Hope someone will read this over

If you work for Mayo Clinic, this is a beautiful facility you should consider for your gym. It's priced well for employees, thankfully. It is not generally one of those gyms with equipment crammed together - usually there is plenty of room between equipment. Nice gentleman who maintains the equipment.
I do feel concerned they are shrinking the offerings. Having towels available is a normal gym thing to do and a courtesy for guests. Toting your own towel is a drag. They are needed if you exercise to a good sweat. The stationary bikes seem to be getting downgraded, which is sad. I love any bike that has interactive courses, and these sadly seem to be disappearing, with cheap bikes with few features put in instead.

I am a student in the EMS Mayo department.
I came in today for a guest member pass to see if this was a good fit for me. My friend who I was with had called ahead asking the front desk about possibly using the reformers in the pilates studio. A woman named Paula had put her on hold and asked if it would be okay, she returned and informed us It would be ok to use the reformers.
Once we arrived and paid, the front desk gentlemen informed us we could not use the reformers in the pilates studio⦠We were mis informed and already had paid so we decided to make the best out of the situation and check out some fitness classes and a few machines.
Thinking we were only going to be doing pilates, we had only brought grip socks and did not have workout shoesβ¦ We did not see any signs or signals that we could not work out on socks (as we come from other gyms and is very common to workout in socks). We then got stopped by an employee named Terri saying she did not feel comfortable with us wearing socksβ¦.
We explained to her our situation and was very nice to go and ask the front desk why we werenβt able to use the reformers when we were told we couldβ¦ she then met us on our way out and explained that we could go in the studio now and use the reformers. Directly after she spoke that, one of the front desk guys yelled from around the corner saying only members can use the reformersβ¦ Terri was confused since guest membership only states as long as the guest stays with the member they are open to all equipment and classesβ¦.now, everyone being confused I mentioned to Terri this is very unprofessional as a team, whoβs job it is to inform. It almost seems like we were being targeted throughout our 30minute experience. One of the front desk members stopped us and told us we were walking the wrong wayβ¦ It was very awkward and inappropriate. I would never recommend this gym to a single person in Rochester. 0/10 not a good experience.

Unfortunately, gym is too small/has a bad layout for anything other than cardio. Lack of machines is unfortunate since the weight room is usually overcrowded there is also not enough machines. Honestly, would be better to reduce the cardio and bump up the machines. There's always a surplus of cardio machines but not any weight lifting machines. If you want to do anything that requires space, that's also unfortunate. For example, doing dumbbell lateral raises in the weight section is next to impossible because it's so tightly setup and crowded. It is clean which is nice. I used to go to the RAC and vastly prefer their gym, but you get what you pay for.

This is a very good gym with lots and lots of equipment, phenomenal indoor running/walking track (with alternating direction daily, so you donβt get bored π ) and everything that you would expect from healthy living center.
Very spacious and not so crowded (only sometimes) makes this perfect place to stop by and do your daily routine!

Great place, especially for the value. Staff is great and welcoming. I took some classes with different instructors (Lynne, Heather, Brian, Drew, Christina...) and they were motivating and encouraging. The courses are a lot of fun.

UPDATE: Just wanted to update on face mask policy. I saw a few comments on adjusting workout due to having to wear face masks so I thought I should update that as of Monday 9/12/22 you are no longer required to wear a mask but obviously if you choose to wear one, that's cool too!

First time back since the Pandemic shut downs. Equipment is well marked for distancing, there are some new rules for COVID safety such as masks required. You might want to adjust your workout intensity a bit with a mask but I was able to exercise at my own pace.
Felt clean and as safe as possible during my time back. It was also great to see staff member Tom was still there and as awesome as ever.
